AN: Here we go again, hope everyone is enjoying this story so far, remember 101 DS is owned by Disney, all I own is the story. Enjoy the chapter.
"Are you sure this idea will even work?" Dawkins asked Dylan, as he watched his brother study the map of Great Britain in their living room
"I'm pretty sure it'll work," He replied not taking his eyes off the map. "Besides, it's the only sensible plan we have, we've thought of every other possibility and they all don't work."
Dawkins sighed, "But Dylan, this plan has the highest amount of risks out of all of them. There are a lot of things that could go wrong if we pursue this plan."
"I don't care what the risks are," Dylan replied, still studying every street and path on the map. "As long as I am able to find Dolly and bring her home, then the risks in this don't matter to me."
"Dylan, you don't even know what kind of risks this plan contains."
"You're right I don't know what the risks are, and I could care less about what they are right now."
"You'll start caring about the risks as soon as I explain them to you Dylan."
"Dylan scoffed at this, "I doubt some very small risk, could convince me to not pursue this plan."
"Well, for starters you could get lost whilst trying to find her," Dawkins began. "You could potentially get lost whilst trying to get back home, and there's a possibility you could...you could..." Dawkins was hesitant to say the last one, he didn't think he had the guts to say it.
"Well...?" Dylan asked him, cocking his head curiously.
"You...could...potentially end up...dead," Dawkins said softly looking down at the ground.
Dylan looked up at his brother a little surprised, "You're saying there's a possibility that I could die?"
Dawkins nodded, "Yes, there is that possibility that you could end up getting yourself killed if you attempt this."
"What are the chances of all these risks happening?"
"The chances of anything like this happening is quite low," Dawkins said, now looking up at his older brother. "But that doesn't mean it can't happen at all."
"I understand that something like this can happen," Dylan replied. "But, I can't let something like this deter me from trying to find Dolly."
"But Dylan, what if...something bad happens to you, what if these things...actually happen?"
Dylan sighed, "I know you are worried about me Dawkins, but I have to do this. If we keep sitting here arguing about this, and we never come to an agreement here, we may never see Dolly again."
"Dawkins looked down, unsure of what to say, part of him wanted to continue to argue against Dylan's plan, but at the same time, he wanted to let Dylan do what he had to do. As he had a feeling that Dylan's plan was the only plan that would ensure they would find Dolly.
Finally, Dawkins looked up at Dylan, his answer decided, "Dylan, as much as I want to disagree with you, I can't help but feel that you are somewhat right."
Dylan tilted his head curiously, "What do you mean?"
"What I mean is you are right. If we keep sitting here, arguing about a plan, we may indeed never see Dolly again."
"Dylan smiled in victory, "I'm glad you agree, anyways, I'm going to head to retire for the night, I'll head out first thing in the morning."
Dawkins nodded, "Alright then, just be sure to see me before you head off tomorrow alright?" Dylan nodded and walked off looking for a place to try and get as much sleep as possible.
Dylan woke up feeling exhausted, he had barely slept that night, but he didn't really care about how he slept, his mind was focused on one thing, and that was finding his sister, no matter what the cost was. As he trudged downstairs, he saw Dawkins waiting at the bottom of the stairs for him.
"Morning Dylan," Dawkins greeted his brother. "How did you sleep?"
"I didn't sleep so well," Dylan said. "I couldn't help but keep thinking about her you know?"
Dawkins nodded, "I understand Dylan, you are worried about her."
"You don't say," Dylan replied sarcastically with an eye roll. "Anyways Dawkins, why did you want to see me?"
"Just wanted to say goodbye and good luck to you Dylan, since you'll be...well gone for a while." Dawkins approached his brother and embraced him gently.
Dylan smiled softly and returned his embrace, "Well, thanks bro...I'll see you soon, with Dolly at my side." They both slowly let go of each other and Dylan slowly walked out the door and onto the streets.
"Alright...first order of business, find a truck or something that can take me up to the northern part of the UK as quickly as possible," Dylan said as he began to walk down the street and observe his surroundings, in the hopes of finding a truck quickly. "This hopefully shouldn't take too long."
Dolly shivered as she felt the cold air bite into her skin, despite the fur on her body, the temperature in the cell she was put in was ice cold.
"Dog, it's so cold in here," She said through chattering teeth. "Why must these humans, keep it so cold down here?" As Dolly was thinking this she heard her stomach rumble loudly. "Dog, I am so hungry," She moaned as she slowly stood up on her paws, and walked around trying to get used to walking again after being paralyzed as well as try to warm herself up. "I hope they at least have the decency to give me some food." As she said this she heard the door leading to the basement open, accompanied by footsteps coming down. Dolly immediately faced towards the stairwell, curious as to who could be coming down the stairs.
"Ah, I see that you are awake," Dolly growled at the voice, recognizing it to be Jake. "Oh calm down you damn mutt, I've come here with something you'll like," Dolly stopped growling at cocked her head to the side, curious as to what he was talking about. She watched as Jake emerged from the stairwell, his hands tucked behind his back. He then slowly brought his hands out from behind his back to reveal a bowl of dog food in one hand, and a bowl of water in his other hand. Dolly stared at it with wide and pleading eyes, as she watched him place the food through a small door in the cage that could only be opened from his side. As soon, as the food and water was placed, she immediately ran towards the bowls and proceeded to gobble down all of the contents in the food bowl down, as well as drink every last drop of water from the water bowl.
"My my, someone is a hungry little mutt isn't she," A voice spoke up as she finished eating, Dolly looked up to see Jake's boss standing next to him, a bottle of wine firmly grasped in one hand. "It's a shame that this little mutt must go back to sleep now." He stated, taking a swig of the wine as he walked towards the cage and slowly opened it.
"Dolly immediately stood up on her paws and growled threateningly at him, and said in an enraged tone, "I'm tired of bowing down to you, this time I'm not letting you do what you did to me without a fight!" However, the human before her heard none of these words and instead just heard loud threatening barks.
"Jake's boss slowly approached the dalmatian, his free hand reaching out to her, "Now now, little mutt, don't make this hard for yourself, just calm down and-" Unfortunately for him, he never finished his sentence because as he was talking Dolly lunged forward and proceeded to bite his hand. The man yelped in pain and in anger raised the bottle of wine in one hand up high over the dalmatian's head.
"Take this you damn bitch!" He shouted as he brought the bottle down onto the dalmatian's head, causing the bottle to shatter. He felt the dalmatian let go of his hand, as Dolly ran back to the wall, whimpering and cowering.
"So you, like to play rough don't you," Dolly looked up despite the pain in her head, she couldn't see very well due to the injury she received but she could make out Jake standing before her, holding what seemed to be a dart gun. "We'll be sure to take care of that later, mutt," Dolly whimpered more in fear, as she listened to Jake's raged soaked voice. Jake then fired the dart gun, sending a tranquilizer dart into her neck. As soon as the dart made contact with her body, she collapsed to the ground, she watched in shock as the blood from her wound trickled onto the floor, forming a small puddle. "Your gonna be in a hell of a lot of trouble when you wake up mutt."
Dolly shivered mentally as she heard this, "What is he talking about?" She thought to herself as she fell into unconsciousness.
