By the last week of October, Kurt was ready for the set to be built. The kids needed to start blocking if they had any hope of knowing where they were supposed to be on show nights. And to effectively block, they needed a set. So, one night after rehearsal, Kurt brought it up to Blaine.
"Any idea who we should hire to build our set pieces?"
Blaine immediately looked hurt. "Why do we need to hire someone? You and I can do it. You know how handy I am."
Kurt smiled, shaking his head. "I've heard you say that repeatedly, yet I've seen no proof of it."
"Why do you need proof? Don't you trust me?"
"Of course, I do! It's just that the set is important, and we both have a lot going on. I think we should let someone else do it so we don't have to stress over it."
"It would be fun, though! I wanna do it with you!"
"If we were going to hire someone, though, who would you suggest?"
"I dunno," Blaine shrugged. "Probably should ask at the hardware store or something."
"Good idea."
"I really wanna do it with you, though, Kurt!"
Kurt smirked, deciding on a way he could deduce if Blaine was telling the truth once and for all. "My dad needs a new driveway. Wanna come over to his house this weekend and help me take the old one out? We can see how well we work together."
Blaine grinned. "I'd love to. I have a feeling we're going to work really well together."
"I think we will, too."
