Author's note: Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay on posting this chapter. I was on vacation last week and I was taking time off to enjoy the trip. Sorry for any inconvenience. Anyways, I know this chapter will be worth the wait! Just wait until you see the end of the chapter…. Let's just say it is something that you DID NOT see coming! Here it is…..
A few hours later…
Many hours have passed since Barnacles broke the devastating news to Asher and Christina of Beau being in the hospital still stuck in a coma.
The news still hasn't quite sunken in yet to the newfound twins.
The Octonauts visited Asher and Christina for a few hours then visiting hours were up.
The Doctors ordered them to rest for the remainder of the day.
The Octonauts have went back to the Octopod for the day.
Asher and Christina mostly slept for the rest of the day, then a few hours later they woke up to their supper lying on the tables by their beds.
They are still exhausted and still in pain from everything that happened.
Their bodies still ached all over.
The beautiful sunset could be seen through the window of their room.
A team of nurses came in a few hours ago after the Octonauts left to test the two of them for concussions while the Doctor observed nearby.
Both tested positive, however they were only minor concussions, thank goodness.
But with a month of therapy, they would be back to their normal selves.
Doctor Wilson allows them to take off their oxygen masks long enough to eat.
While they ate their supper, they reflected on everything.
"I am still in shock about Beau…" Christina sighed.
"Wait which part? The part where he helped us or the coma?" Asher joked.
"Just everything…. honestly…." Christina sighed.
Asher pauses eating his food and looks up at the ceiling, going into deep thought. "Everything still hurts…. everywhere…" Asher moans.
"It feels as if we were hit by a dump truck… even though that isn't what happened…" She says.
"I know…. I don't even know where to begin…." Asher sighs feeling overwhelmed.
"But why would Beau help us?"
"I have given it some thought…. I don't think he is evil… or ever was… what if he really wanted to help us? What if he really is good? I don't know… I could be wrong…." Asher reveals his thoughts.
Christina pauses eating and takes a moment to take in what Asher said.
After a few minutes went by… she thought that Asher had a point…. he could be right…
Christina stares at the ceiling.
"I think you might be right… I mean there is no other explanation! Why else would he help us? Yeah, I thought he was just pretending back when we were on the ship and when we were searching for the treasure in the caves…but after hearing what he did for us…" She says then pauses for a few seconds.
"Changed my opinion…" Asher and Christina finish the sentence together, slowly in unison on accident.
This was the first time they have finished each other sentences….
It honestly freaked them out…. They knew that it came with being a twin… but with everything that has happened during the past few days, this was the least of their concerns.
The two give each other looks after hearing each other finish the sentence together.
"Hey!" They said again in sync.
"Don't finish my sentences!" They said in sync once again.
The two stop talking before they did it again.
"You gotta stop doing that! It's freaking me out….." Christina laughs while also being serious.
"My bad…" Asher laughs innocently. "It just happened…. You might as well get used to it because I think we will be doing this a lot more for a long time….." Asher added referencing to them now being together everyday since they are both Octonauts.
"You are right. I promise I won't get mad if we do it again…." Christina apologizes feeling guilty about what she said a few minutes before. She was only joking about them repeating each other sentences. She didn't mean for it to sound rude. She knew that he knew that she didn't mean it the wrong way at all.
"But going back to Beau now…after having time to think and reflect on everything, what if Beau was truly evil… if he was truly evil like the rest of the pirates, he would have snatched the diamonds from us immediately and would have left us to die in that cave! Think about it! If he saved us from that burning cave, we must have meant something to him!" Asher says, now becoming emotional, while shedding a few tears.
Christina starts to shed some tears as well. "He could have easily let us die in that cave!" Christina says with her voice cracking.
What Asher said, was deep.
Deep as in deep!
If Beau would not have carried them out of the cave, they wouldn't have made it.
They would be dead. And they would have never had time to get to know each other more.
They wouldn't have ever gotten to know each other, or been able to make up lost time for being separated all those years…..
Both of them couldn't imagine being dead right now…. They still had so much to look forward to in life!
And they just reunited!
They have so much time to catch up on!
"What Beau did for us was…selfless. Not everyone would do what he did. He went out of his way to get us out of there and to safety. He knew all the risks, he knew about his severe asthma. He knew that he would lose his job. He knew that carrying us both out of there would be hard on him and his body and health. But he did it anyway…." Christina says and pauses, wiping tears away.
Then, she realized something.
Something that could change everything.
Her blue eyes widen.
Asher turns his head to look at her.
Asher realizes what Christina is thinking and what she is about to say.
"Just like an…..would do…" They both finish the sentence in unison.
Asher realizes what Christina is talking about and why she said it.
It hit him.
His blue eyes widen.
"We have to talk to Captain Barnacles about this." Asher states.

A low beep can be heard from the monitor.
A very faint sound indeed.
Beau is still lying in the hospital bed, motionless, hooked up to drips and oxygen.
A nurse peeks in the door, looking at the unconscious patient.
When she saw that he was still not awake, she frowned.
She and the rest of the staff was becoming very worried about him.
Whenever the news got out of the other two patients waking up, everyone cheered excitedly and sighed of relief.
Everyone became worried about them as soon as they got here.
After all, their injuries were serious.
However, everyone is still worried about the third patient, Beau.
His issues have been far more serious than the other two.
The team in charge of him have been checking on him constantly, hoping to walk in to see him awake.
But still, nothing yet.
The nurse was saddened to still see him asleep, but she wasn't giving up on him.
The Lion looked like he has been through a lot, he looked like a fighter.
She believed that he can pull through.
That was her hope and prayer.

A few days have passed.
Asher and Christina have been improving everyday.
The goal was for them to go home at the end of the week if they continue to heal and make progress.
However, Beau still wasn't awake.
The Doctor was becoming extremely worried about Beau.
The more time progressed, the more worried the Doctor became.
Asher and Christina are starting to worry that Beau isn't going to make it.
Barnacles just walked into their room.
Both requested for him to come alone.
They had something that they wanted to talk to him about.
Something they thought about a few days ago.
A possible, possibility.
They both agreed that this was something that needed to be discussed with just them alone.
Barnacles pulls up a chair from the corner of the hospital room and pulls the chair in between Asher and Christina's beds.
"What is it you two were wanting to discuss with me?" Captain Barnacles asked concerned.
Asher and Christina turn to look at each to see who will speak first.
Asher decides to go first. "When we were talking about Beau and his actions to help us, we both couldn't get it off our minds why he would risk everything for us? He barely knew us and he got fired from his job and risked his life just to help us survive!"
"Why would he help us if it mean losing everything? We don't even know him! And he risked it all just for us!" Christina adds.
"I wonder the same thing. I don't know. I have never seen someone do what Beau did. You don't find many people like him that's for sure." Barnacles reveals his thoughts.
"Captain, I don't think he is truly evil. Yeah, he worked for an evil pirate crew, but after we heard what he did, it changed both of our perspectives on him." Christina says.
"I can agree to that as well. Seeing him do what he did for you, changed everyone's views on him. It was game changing!" Barnacles agrees.
Asher grins over at his twin.
Christina then knew what he was about to say.
"After we talked about it some more, we both realized something." Asher says seriously.
"Okay. Go ahead." Barnacles motions them to continue.
"So, we realized what he did was just like an…..Octonaut…..would do. An Octonaut is everything what Beau did. Selfless, caring, adventurous, fearless and all the above." Christina reveals.
Barnacles' eyes go wide almost as fast as lightening. "Are you saying…"
Asher and Christina glance over at each other again.
They were trying to figure out who was going to say it.
"You say it!" Christina demands.
"No… you say it!" Asher demands back at her.
Asher decides to say it, after all if he didn't say it, they would be sitting here all day waiting for someone to say it….
"We think that Beau should be considered to become an Octonaut….." Asher finally reveals.
Captain Barnacles stares back at the twins with astonishment.
He had no words to say….
