Author's note: Hello everyone! I am so excited for you to read this chapter! I know this has been a long time coming, Beau's backstory will finally be revealed in this chapter. I know many of you have so many questions about Beau and his mysterious past. Beau is a very complex character and not much was known about him at first when he was introduced to the story. Fun fact, Beau was not in the original storyline (insert shocked emoji.) Originally, there was no Beau and there wasn't going to be a pirate on Asher and Christina's side at all. As I was writing the story, I got the idea of a pirate being on their side secretly and then turning good. I liked the idea then the storyline was changed. I am glad that I decided to add Beau to the story as he is a great character and he is a major part of the storyline. The story would not be what it is without Beau. The story would have been completely different if Beau was never added. I know the biggest question about Beau was if he was truly on Asher and Christina's side or not and if he was really evil. Beau has been a really fun character to work with and to write about. I hope you enjoy this chapter as it has been a long time coming and questions will be finally answered! However, there is a cliffhanger at the end of this chapter… enjoy:)

Beau woke up a few minutes before and the first person that he sees is a Doctor staring back at him, completely astonished.

"Where…am…I?" Beau asks, confused.

Beau is completely terrified.

He has an oxygen mask on, he has multiple drips attached to his body and the Doctor seems shocked to see him…..

What is going on?

Why is he in the hospital?

What happened to him?

Thoughts are just clashing together in his head.

The last thing that he can remember is talking to the Octonauts after handing Asher and Christina over to the SWAT Officers.

Then everything went black…..

He couldn't remember anything after that….

"My name is Doctor Wilson. You are here in a local hospital here on the Hawaiian Island, Oahu. You have suffered many injuries. Your body went under a lot of stress. You inhaled a lot of smoke from the fire inside the cave. And because of that and you having severe asthma, you have suffered severe smoke inhalation. And the weight of you carrying both Asher and Christina caused tremendous stress on your body as well. Because your body went into stress mode, your body completely shut down. You were in a coma for three days. It will take some time for your body to recover and heal. I can guarantee that you will make a full recovery."

"And because you have awoken, your chances of surviving have increased tremendously." Doctor Wilson adds.

A few hours later…..

Beau is lying in the hospital bed, thinking about everything that has happened.

He has lost everything….

He lost everything in his life….

His job, his life, his home, his lifestyle, everything that he has ever known.

He realized that after he leaves the hospital, he has no where to go.

What will he do?

What will become of him?

He will have to completely start over.

How do you start completely over?

He has nothing!

After thinking for quite some time, Beau realized that for the first time in his life, he doesn't have a plan.

Suddenly, Barnacles and Professor Inkling come walking into the room.

"What are they doing here? Why are they here to see me? They should be visiting their fellow Octonauts, not me." Beau thinks to himself.

"What are you doing here?" Beau asks.

Professor Inkling responds, "We need to talk to you about something. About the opportunity of a lifetime….."

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Beau replies, raising his brows.

"After reflecting on the events that occurred a few days before… conversations were held and an idea was brought up by Asher and Christina. They were the ones to bring this up, not us." Barnacles explains.

"Asher? Christina? What did they say? They probably want me thrown in jail like the rest of the pirates I bet…" Beau sighs in a sarcastic way.

"No, it was quite opposite of that. After we told them everything you did for them when they both were unconscious, they had thoughts and brought up something important and they brought the idea to Barnacles first. Then Barnacles discussed it with me to get my opinion and thoughts. And here we are now…." Inkling further explained.

"I still be confused. What be the "possibility" you keep on sayin?" Beau says.

"Before we tell you and go further, we would like to ask a question." Barnacles adds.

"Go for it, matey."

"Why did you help Asher and Christina? What made you want to help them? When you knew that you could lose your job with the pirates?" Barnacles asked.

"Aye… to start off… I had intentions of leaving before we encountered Asher and Christina. You see, I was raised in a pirate family. I was raised by the pirate lifestyle and traditions. I lived and breathed everything pirate. However, my pirate family stood for evil. They crave for treasure and adventure, and if anyone stands in their way, they will kill, hurt, and destroy to get what they want. I was raised to be evil, however, I always had thoughts that everything that my family did, didn't feel right. It was like my conscious was trying to tell me something. After I graduated high school a few years ago, my parents helped me get a high ranking job with the Fearful Diamond Pirates. My parents have contacts everywhere and have friends in high places. I was lucky to have gotten that job. Whenever I joined the pirates, jealousy of me arose overnight. All of the pirates became jealous of me for getting the job that everyone wanted and that I got it just because of my well known parents. They weren't just jealous of that, they were jealous of me pirate talent. Not everyone had the gift that I had. I could easily manipulate, sneak past guards better than any matey on board, sword duel better than anyone and I was Captain Drake's favorite because of my family name and my talents. The other pirates just wanted me gone. They saw me as competition, not a friend. No matey on board liked me. I had no friends. After being with the Fearful Diamonds for a year, I wanted to get gone. I had done a lot that I regret doing. I was done doing evil. I couldn't bear the weight of doing evil anymore. I only did evil because I thought that I would never be excepted anywhere else. I thought being a pirate was the only thing that I could do in life. I already feel so much guilt for the evil that I have done in the past. I can't do it anymore. I made plans to leave soon. I was also scared to leave because of what they could do to me. But, I knew that it was best for me to leave no matter what. Then, we were sailing around looking for a treasure and found it, where we found Asher and Christina talking on the beach and we heard them say that they were the twins that unlocked the treasure of the Lost Diamonds. Captain Drake had been looking for them for over twenty years. When we realized they were the ones, Captain Drake was ecstatic. He had thought the twins were long lost. Then, I decided that I needed to stick around a little while longer. The two might need my help. After all, they were about to be kidnapped by the most dangerous pirates known in the seven seas. I gave them food, told them that I was on their side, which I do not think they believed me at first. Then, when we reached the caves, I knew Captain Drake was coming. I had to lead him on long enough so we could get the diamonds. I was becoming nervous. I was going to let Asher and Christina have the diamonds. I wasn't going to take them for meself to the pirates. I knew that Captain Drake was about to find out my true intentions with going with the twins to the caves. That I betrayed him and the other pirates. I knew the entire time doing what I was doing was going to be hardest thing that I have ever done, but I had to do it. It was the right thing to do and it was my way out. Then, once Captain Drake got to deepest part of the cave where we were and realized what I had done, everything came crashing down. The boulders came crashing down, the fire ignited. I couldn't let Asher and Christina die in that cave. It was time for me to leave evil behind and do something good. I was ready to move on and turn over a new leaf. That was also my opportunity to kinda redeem myself, and help me move on from my evil past."

Barnacles and Inkling didn't say anything at first.

It took them both some time to take in everything that Beau said.

"That is quite a lot Beau…. I couldn't imagine being in the situation that you were in." Inkling says.

"You have a great testimony Beau. I also couldn't imagine being in your foot steps. You have overcome so much. You should be proud of yourself. Now, we have one more question and we will tell you what the opportunity is." Barnacles adds.

"Go ahead." Beau says. He sees that these Octonauts like to ask questions. He just let them ask away, after all, if he were the Octonauts and a pirate from an evil pirate crew helped two people on his crew, he would ask questions too.

"After you leave here from the hospital, what are your plans? Where are you going?" Inkling asks.

Beau sighs immediately after hearing the question. A big punch in the gut. "I have no idea mateys."

Barnacles and Inkling give each other glances.

Barnacles makes eye contact with Inkling.

Inkling knew what to do next.

"How would you like the opportunity of a lifetime to come live aboard the Octopod as an Octonaut?" Inkling finally says.
