Chapter 11

Finn and Rory spent two more days in London. Finn worked during the day while Rory relaxed, shopped and completed a few social obligations as required of her courtesy of Emily, at least this time she only committed her to lunches and afternoon teas. Not long dinners and parties. This was how Finn and Rory ended up having dinner together every day they were in London. They had visited pubs for a pub dinner, and also had dinner one night at a Michelin starred restaurant, which while fantastic food was not enough to fill either of them. They ended up stopping for take out on the way home that night, eating french fries and burgers on Rory's couch while still in their fancy clothes. That night Finn broached the subject of their further travel. They ended up agreeing to go to Edinburgh on the same dates, Rory had yet to book a place to stay there so Finn agreed to arrange a room for her. She would go to York on the days in between and he would go to Chester.

Three days later Rory arrived in Edinburgh and had a car take her to the address Finn had emailed her. When she arrived she was delighted, the Morgan hotel was ideally situated with a great view of the castle. Rory walked into the hotel and up to the reception desk.

"Rory Gilmore to check in please," she stated to the receptionist. The receptionist typed her name in the system, once she saw how she was registered the receptionist straightened up and her tone changed from bored to attentive.

"Miss Gilmore, here is your key. Mr Morgan has advised us to let you know he is here but is attending a meeting and will come visit you once he is free." At this the receptionist attempted to subtly look Rory up and down, wondering at the woman who appeared to have captured the boss's attention.

"Thank you," Rory politely replied before turning to move towards the elevators. Rory was unsurprised to find her room was on the top floor of the hotel, she was however surprised when she opened the door to her room and walked into an ornately decorated sitting room with two couches and a standing fully stocked bar, but the best part of all was the amazing view out the window. She had a completely unobstructed view of the castle and Royal mile. Rory continued on through the room and found it had two bedrooms, one on each side of the sitting room and each with marble bathrooms and jetted tubs. Finn had gone completely over the top with her room assignment, Rory wondered if maybe they were going to share the suite. She decided to sit on the couch facing the windows and pulled out her ipad to read. She still preferred a real book but she had finally accepted the ease of reading on her ipad while travelling.

Rory's reading was interrupted by the sound of a knock at the door, followed by the telltale click of the locking mechanism opening.

"Rory, Kitten, are you in here?" Finn asked as he walked into the suite.

"In here Finn"

"You're a sight for sore eyes love." he said, coming over to give her a hug.

"Been a long few days?" she asked while still in his embrace.

"Like you wouldn't believe," he said, releasing her.

"Now before we get too comfortable, I have a question for you. As you have probably seen, this is a two bedroom suite, are you comfortable to share this with me? Don't worry I wasn't presumptuous, I currently have a room down the hall if you would rather we were separated."

"I'm ok to share with you Finn, it's no problem."

"Great I will call down and get them to move my stuff in here while we are out later. Now Kitten, you said you wanted to play tourist here, are you too tired to do things this evening or would you be willing to go out?"

"Lifes too short to be tired Finn, I'm good to go out."

"Great! Casual clothes, love, jeans and sneakers are needed. Chop chop"

"Oh you mean right now?" Rory said, standing up shocked.

""Yep, you have thirty mins." Finn said, checking his watch.

"Where are we heading?" Rory said, once she was on the street in front of the hotel with her arm through Finns, as had become their new normal.

"You'll see when we get there," Finn retorted, as he led her in the direction of waverley bridge to cross into Old Town Edinburgh. "Now kitten, can you survive two hours without food or do you want an early dinner? Where I am taking us will keep us busy from about seven until nine."

"I think I will be ok, with a late supper in a pub after if that goes with your plans Finn?" Rory replied after giving it some thought.

"That would be perfect Love, I hope you are ready for a walk," he continued on leading the way.

Fifteen minutes later they arrived at their destination. Edinburgh ghost walk tours.

"FINN! This is awesome, this is exactly what I wanted to do, how did you know?!" Rory exclaimed.

"Come on, you have to give me some credit for knowing my audience, kitten," Finn retorted, he was trying to play it cool, while secretly he was overjoyed she was enjoying what he had planned.

He had arranged for a private ghost walk for them, they followed the guide around the streets of the old town, listening to ghost stories and legends, when people would jump out to scare them, Rory would jump even closer to Finn, occasionally all the way into his arms. By the time the walk descended into the underground vaults Finn was hyper aware of her proximity to him. At the end of the walk, Finn was leading her back out onto the street hand and hand, he was leading her towards a pub for the late dinner he had promised her.

"Finn, that was awesome, and actually scary. Normally those walks are just cheesy but my god that one actually scared me. Thank you for being my protector during the walk." Rory said sheepishly.

"Always willing to help a pretty young thing like yourself Miss Gilmore," Finn smirked. "I knew you just needed an excuse to jump all over me."

"Modest as always Finnegan."

"Hey! No Full name for me Lorelai!" The teasing continued on through the night.

The next day Rory bounced out of bed before Finn and went and banged on his door.

"Finn, are you awake," she shouted through it.

"Come in," was the sleepy response.

Rory bounced her way into the room and jumped up onto the bed beside him.

"Finn, can we go to the zoo today? Did you know they have a penguin that is a colonel in chief to the Norwegian King's guard, please!" Rory turned the doe eyes on Finn.

"Fine, we can go to the zoo," Finn said pretending to be exasperated, he actually loved going to the zoo.

"Yay!" Rory cried, reaching down to give him a hug. It was at this point they both suddenly became aware of their proximity to each other, and the fact that Finn was only in a pair of shorts in bed. Finn was trying to control his body's reaction at the sight of Rory all fresh faced with bed hair. While Rory was trying not to stare at Finn's toned body. He had a lean swimmer's body, and boy was it distracting her.

"I'll, eh , just go and get dressed then. I'll meet you in the living room for breakfast." Rory said bashfully as she backed her way out of the room.

They spent most of the day at the zoo, they toured the entire zoo, with Finn giving Rory a piggy back when she began to complain about all the hills.

Later that afternoon Rory had a surprise for Finn, she told him to get dressed, semi casual with a button down shirt. And she was going to take him out for the afternoon and evening.

So at four o'clock she knocked on his door:

"Miss Lorelai Gilmore reporting, to escort one Master Finnegan Morgan for the evening."

Finn opened the door, and took a deep breath, Rory was standing there in a knee length, emerald green dress, she looked stunning.

"Why Miss Gilmore, I do declare you look breathtaking this evening," Finn flirted trying to keep his tone teasing.

Rory took Finn by the hand as had become second nature while they were in Scotland and led him out onto Princes Street. She continued walking until she got to the Johnnie Walker experience, she had booked them on the whiskey makers cellars tour, where they were taken to an underground cellar and got to try some of the special whiskies only available at that location. After the private tour they went up to the rooftop bar, where she had arranged a private table and menu for them for the evening. While Rory wasn't a giant whiskey fan, she found they had some whiskey based cocktails that she liked and was able to drink for the evening.

"Thank you kitten, that was a great surprise, I really enjoyed it," Finn half slurred as they left the bar, he was riding the fine line between tipsy and drunk by this point of the night.

"Your welcome Finn, you have been amazing the past few days here, I just wanted to do something nice for you." said Rory. "Let's go dancing!" she exclaimed loudly showing her tipsy side.

"Sounds like a plan Kitten," Finn agreed, and he led her down a street where he was pretty sure there was a club. They both walked up to the front of the line and were let right in. They may not be known in Edinburgh but they both still had the appearance of "young hot rich people."

Finn led Rory straight to the dance floor and put his hands on her hips as they began to dance. Finn was trying to fight his attraction to Rory; he still didn't believe she could see him as more than a friend but he was definitely going to take advantage of this closeness while she allowed him to.

On her side Rory was also fighting her attraction to Finn but for different reasons. She still thought of him as the playboy he had been at Yale and as Logan's friend she assumed anything more than friendship was off the table. But boy were those blue eyes mesmerising.

They both turned down any offers from anyone else to dance that night but each assumed the other had only done it out of politeness as they were there together and didn't want to leave the other one alone. When really it was because they were each enjoying grinding up against each other. To any outsider looking in they looked like a young couple in love out for the night.

The next morning they woke up and they were each asleep on a couch each in the living room of their hotel suite but neither one fully remembered how they had ended up there.

"Finn? Why are we on the couch and not in bed?"

"I don't know, I was hoping you could tell me"

"My head hurts," Rory whined from her couch.

"The sun is too bright," Finn retorted from his, Finn reached over and grabbed the phone and proceeded to order them a room service breakfast.

"Thank you Finn," Rory said softly from her couch. "I'm going to go and have a shower and i'll be back before breakfast comes, can you unzip me?" she asked turning her back to him so he could unzip her dress from the night before.

"Sure love," Finn said as he unzipped the dress, trying to appear aloof. "I'm going to shower too and we will reconvene here in fifteen minutes for sustenance."

Thirty minutes later and they were both finishing up breakfast and drinking coffee in just a t-shirt and shorts.

"Finn, how set are your plans for the next few days?" Rory asked.

"Pretty flexible at this point, kitten, all of my other work is surprise spot visits to hotels, to see how they are running without giving them any warning I am coming. Why?"

"There is somewhere I'd like to go, it would require two days probably and a flight. I've never been and I don't particularly want to go for the first time on my own, not that I want to guilt trip you into going with me, as obviously you have your own plans and expectations for this trip. I just thought I would ask as we have, well I have enjoyed travelling with you and spending time with you. But you don't have to feel obligated to say yes either," Rory rambled on.

"Well kitten, if you'd like to take a breath there, it would be easier to decide, if you actually told me where you wanted to go." Finn said laughing.

"Disneyland Paris" Rory mumbled out.

"Where did you say? I didn't quite hear you"

" Dis-ney-land Par-is!" Rory repeated making sure to enunciate each word while turning bright red.

"Huh that's what I thought you said."

"Finn!"

"I'd love to go with you Rory, I've never been there either. I've never been to any DIsneyland or world."

"Really Finn? You aren't just agreeing out of pity?"

"Nope, next stop on the Rory and Finn European tour - Disneyland Paris!" Finn announced loudly using a fake radio voice.
