Early Friday morning as Rory was walking into her office her cell beeped, she was pleasantly surprised to see a text from Finn so early in the morning.

F: one question kitten, fun date or romantic date tonight, your choice.

R: how about romance tonight, and a fun day tomorrow? I'm intrigued to see if thee Finn Morgan knows how to be romantic.

F: believe me Miss Gilmore, I can do romance, just you wait and see.

Seven o clock Friday night came and Rory's doorbell rang. She had told her doorman to go ahead and let Finn up when he arrived. Rory opened the door for Finn and signalled she needed five more minutes, before running back to her bedroom without a second glance at him.

Finn watched her run off in amusement, as he took advantage of the opportunity to have a look around Rory's home. It was all high ceilings, and lots of light. The kitchen was modern, more modern than he expected of Rory's taste, the living room was bright but cozy, big oversized couches and lots of books around. Surprisingly no tv. Finn wondered where it was hidden because he knew that Rory had to have a tv, she loved movies too much not to.

"Ready to go, Finn?" Rory said, walking into the room.

Finn looked Rory up and down. "Rory, you look amazing." He said honestly, she was in a midnight blue cocktail dress, with matching high heels, her hair was down and lightly curled.

"You don't look so bad yourself, Finn." He had a dark grey suit on with a deep blue shirt and no tie.

"Let's go, Miss Gilmore, your chariot awaits." Finn offered her his arm as they left her apartment. "Would you believe me if I said I lived only a block away from here?"

"Really Finn?" Rory asked, looking at him in shock.

"Yes, I can't believe we never crossed paths at all."

"Neither of us probably go walking around the neighborhood too much in fairness. I know I don't unless it's for coffee. I travel a lot on weekends, whether it's Hartford, Stars Hollow or somewhere else."

"True, I'm not much of a walker myself, kitten."

"This is us here," Finn says, leading her towards a town car.

The car took them towards central park. Finn had arranged for them to have a carriage ride through the park. The carriage took them slowly through the park as dusk settled. After the carriage ride, they got back into the car and it took them towards an apartment building. He led her to the elevator and took her straight to the roof.

While in the elevator he stated "I'm reclaiming roof tops from Logan." He had lit up the rooftop with fairy lights. Facing one wall he had set up a projector and what looked like a pillow fort.

"What is all this Finn?"

"Wait and see, the food should be arriving soon." As he said that his cell went off. "I'll be right back."

He returned 2 minutes later with pizza and chinese food. "I remember you when we went out for food, I figured you would appreciate this as much, if not more than a fancy restaurant."

"You're right. This is awesome." Rory said, sitting down on a floor pillow.

Finn plopped himself down on a pillow beside her, "I'm glad to hear that kitten. drink?" He asked pulling a cooler out of nowhere. "I have soda, beer, wine, sparkling water."

"Can I have a soda for now Finn?"

"Here you go, want to eat first then movie or eat while the movie is on? And don't worry I have candy for the movie."

"Let's eat chinese first, pizza and candy later?" Rory said, reaching for a box of lo mein.

"How was your Friday? Good flight?" Finn asked while opening his chopsticks.

"It was good, I got most of my weekend paperwork done on the flight, so that makes for an easier weekend."

"Means you will have more time for me then."

"Sure, you think of it that way," Rory answered with a laugh.

After they finished eating, Finn flicked on the projector, the opening credits for Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory started to roll.

"Oh my God Finn, this is awesome!" Rory said snuggling in beside Finn.

Finn pulled out a packet of twizzlers and wrapped his arm around her, as they leaned back against the pillows, settling in to watch the movie.

As the movie ended, "Thanks Finn, this was amazing. I no longer doubt your romantic abilities," Rory stated, tilting her head up to kiss his neck from where she was snuggled in tight to his side.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it, kitten. You are the only one I've ever wanted to use my romantic tendencies on."

"Well they might not be well used, but they are worth using." Rory replied as she adjusted to give Finn a proper kiss. Finn pulled her tighter into his arms, as he deepened the kiss. Once the need for air became too great, he pulled away and breathing heavily kissed her cheek, "Do you want to watch another movie, or are you tired and you'd like me to take you home? I know it has been a long busy week for you."

"Can I choose option C?"

"Option C?" Finn asked apprehensively, he couldn't think where she was going with that question.

"I'm tired but can I sleep over with you? I've missed sleeping cuddled up to you since we got home." Rory's face was crimson by the time she finished her admission.

"Of course you can Kitten, I sleep better when you're beside me and I've never experienced that feeling before you." Finn said, kissing her cheek. "You are adorable when you get all embarrassed."

"Finn," she protested weakly.

"Come on, let's go see what you think of my place, you haven't seen anywhere I live yet." Finn said, while pulling her up with him from their pillow fort.

Finn's apartment was a total bachelor pad, it was a loft style with exposed brick and duct work, it had an open floating staircase against one wall, his kitchen was red and chrome with a polished concrete counter, he had several brown leather couches and a bar in the corner. The walls had framed movie posters hanging, the whole place just screamed Finn.

"Finn, I love your apartment, it's very you. I'm jealous. Grandma Emily decorated my New York place and not to be undone Grandma Francine did my Boston one. The houses I decorated myself aren't even in this country."

"I'm happy to hear that, cause hopefully you will be here a lot more often, or I'll be at yours, we will see who's bed is comfier Love," Finn said with a wink.

"Oh Finn," Rory said, giving his chest a push. "Now where is your bedroom? I wasn't exaggerating the tiredness. Are you okay continuing to take it slow Finn? I understand if you aren't, I can go home if necessary," she finished sheepishly, looking at her feet.

"Rory, we agreed we are making a foundation for something solid here, it's not going slowly, we are building. I want you to stay here tonight, I've missed you, I've never had a girl in my bed here, if that helps with your comfort level. This is a first for me."

"I just don't want you to regret anything Finn."

"I won't, now come on, I'll get you a shirt to sleep in." He stated as he pulled her into his room for the night.

The next morning Finn woke up to a head full of brunette hair splayed across his chest, he laid there listening to her gentle breathing. He didn't think he had ever been as happy as he had been these past few weeks since Rory came back into his life, and he was loving it. He felt her start to stir, he felt her cautiously raise her head.

"Morning kitten," he gave her a gentle kiss.

"Morning Finn," she said, giving his chest a kiss.

"Now as much as I want to stay in bed, and believe me I do, I have plans for us today. So would you like to have breakfast here, or I can take you home to change and pick you up and we can go grab brunch before my plans?"

"You mean this outfit isn't working for you?" she asked with a smirk while gesturing at his t-shirt that she had worn to sleep in.

Finn rolled her over so she was under him, and gave her a passionate kiss, not caring about morning breath. "Pretty sure you can feel how much that outfit is working for me right now kitten," Finn responded huskily while watching her blush.

"How about I get the walk of shame over with and we go out for brunch?"

"Sounds like a plan, jeans and a tshirt today kitten, keep it comfy and casual because I know you were about to ask me what we were doing today, and you know I'm not telling."

"Finn!" Rory said exasperatedly.

"You asked for romance and fun, surprises are a part of that. You are mine for the weekend."

An hour later and Finn was picking up Rory from in front of her building, she had jeans, a white t-shirt and converse on, Finn was dressed similarly except his t-shirt was blue instead of white.

After grabbing some waffles and coffee on an outdoor patio, Finn dragged her down into the subway via starbucks to get coffee for the ride. He managed to find them two seats beside each other in the carriage and he slung his arm around her shoulders. They spent the journey on the subway drinking coffee, people watching and exchanging gentle quick kisses. Only when they were still on the subway after forty five minutes did Rory start to question where they were going.

"Well Kitten, I'm a little disappointed you haven't guessed."

"I was trying the whole going with the flow thing Finn, seeing as I knew you wouldn't tell me even if I asked."

As she finished talking, Finn pulled her up, "Here we go, this is our stop."

"Coney Island? Oh My God Finn, I've never been here before," she bounced excitedly waiting on the train stopping.

"I can tell, you're acting like a tourist Kitten." Finn said while laughing at her.

"I'm really excited."

"Come on, let's go have fun." Finn pulled her hand and hand in the direction of the boardwalk.

They spent the afternoon going around the rides and games, Finn managed to win her a stuffed kangaroo, he had been determined to once he saw a kangaroo available as a prize. They rode the Coney Island cyclone and gorged on funnel cake and ice cream. With a final stop for hotdogs, Finn pulled her off towards a town car, which she hadn't even been aware of him calling.

"No subway home?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Nope, figured we could rest in comfort before our next stop."

"Is there any point in me even asking where we are going?"

"Have you not just realised it will be awesome and you should let me lead you?"

"Modest as always," she leaned over and kissed him. "I accept it may be awesome, but I still like to know where we are going."

"As long as you accept that I'm awesome."

"I never said you were awesome." Rory replied with a smirk.

"I'm hurt, take it back Kitten," he reached over to start tickling her.

"Hey, don't fight dirty."

"Oh I'll show you fighting dirty," and with that he pulled her down on the car seat for a deep kiss, which was how they spent the rest of the drive into Manhattan.

When they reached Manhattan the car stopped between Chelsea and Midtown. Finn offered Rory his hand and helped her out of the car, as she tried to fix her hair and clothes from the journey.

Rory looked up and saw a sign for Barcade, a bar filled with vintage arcade games.

"We're going here?"

"Eh, yes if that's ok?" Finn answered, looking nervous.

For the first time Rory realised he wasn't actually as sure of himself as he always seemed, and she knew at that point, if she said she didn't want to go there he would immediately abandon all plans and find something else for them to do. That knowledge endeared him even more to her.

"Sure, come on, let's go, bet I can kick your ass at Pac-man!"

They spent the evening drinking beer, eating nachos and playing games. When they got tired Finn called his driver and they got picked up again, Rory reclaimed her kangaroo, and they went back to Rory's place to continue their experiment of whse bed they slept better in.
