The next morning Rory and Finn got up early and dressed in the same outfits as their first trip to Disneyland together, Rory in her Captain Marvel shirt, Finn in his Iron Man one. They both had their bride and groom ears on their heads already.
"Do you think they will all have fun today?" Rory asked Finn as they walked hand and hand to the elevator to go down to joining everyone for breakfast.
"I think most of them will see it the same way we do and embrace it, you know what everyone in the LDB is like, it will probably turn into a contest to see who can ride space mountain or the matterhorn the most times without throwing up."
"Okay you are right, I guess this has been my guilty pleasure for years and I'm a little scared of the judgement from our friends." Rory admitted, leaning against the wall in the elevator.
"Who cares? If anyone is a pain in the butt we can abandon them on Tom Sawyer's Island, or you and I can break away and spend the day just the two of us." Finn said, pulling her into his arms for a kiss just as the elevator reached the floor with the private meeting room that they had arranged to host their breakfast.
"Aw Finn, you did some disney research."
"Of course I did, now come on everyone is waiting on us, we are fifteen minutes late."
"Let's just pretend that was intentional, and not because you wouldn't let me shower alone."
"You weren't complaining an hour ago," Finn smirked. "If I remember correctly you were begging instead."
"There you are!" Colin interrupted them, "We were all waiting on you." he said, dragging them into the room where their friends were waiting.
Rory and Finn looked around at their friends and were glad to see that nearly everyone had gotten into the spirit of things. Most were wearing their ears and quite a few had some form of disney or marvel shirt on, which meant that they had gone out shopping on purpose seeing as no one had known the destination. They quickly took their spot in the middle of the room, filling their plates with mickey waffles, bacon and fruit from the buffet. The noise level in the room was deafening, and a little shocking as it was just their group in the room. As the group was finishing up and making plans to meet again in fifteen minutes to leave, there was a knock on the door as it opened to reveal a member of the hotel staff.
"Hi I just wanted to check if everything went smoothly with breakfast?"
"Yes, it was perfect. Thank you for accommodating us." Finn responded.
"I have some people who would like to say hello. Is that ok?"
"Sure," Finn said looking around curiously, he quickly saw everyone had the same curious expression so it appeared none of them were behind whatever was about to happen. Finn heard Rory gasp as he was still surveying the room. He turned to see Mickey and Minnie mouse and quickly joined Rory's gasp.
"Mickey and Minnie here heard that you guys are here for your bachelor and bachelorette parties and they wanted to come say hello and congratulations." the staff member spoke.
"Oh my God, this is awesome,'' Rory exclaimed.
"Amazing, Kitten," Finn said as he watched Mickey and Minnie walk towards them. It was one thing to see them in the parks or the character meals, but he had to admit he understood the term disney magic a little more at how he felt being surprised with their appearance.
Rory and he both hugged Mickey and Minnie, Minnie held out Rory's hand and studied her ring before gesturing between Mickey and Rory. The staff member started to laugh.
"Minnie wants to know how you got him to propose, she has been waiting on Mickey proposing but still no ring." as the staff member spoke, Minnie lifted up and gestured to her ringless hand, while Mickey did a great impression of a facepalm. Everyone in the room was laughing at the antics. The staff member arranged the group all into a picture with Mickey, Minnie, Rory and Finn in the centre.
"Okay that was awesome, we will all meet back down in the lobby in fifteen minutes to meet our guides who will be with us for the day. Make sure you all have comfy shoes on!" Finn instructed the group, as they all headed back to their rooms to quickly grab their things before leaving for the day.
Once the group was in the park, the guides quickly walked them up to the front of the castle, knowing they would want a group picture there and that doing it first was the best chance to achieve it. Once the group finished posing for the group picture many of the couples split off to get a couple picture there. Rory and Finn were the first to do so.
"Castle number four," Rory said to Finn as he pulled her in close.
"Yep, we've done pretty well at visiting them. Come on, we need a kissing picture in front of this one," Finn said, as he adjusted the veil attached to her ears. "I love this veil thing by the way, I can't wait until you are my wife."
The group agreed to all head to Space Mountain first, after that they would maybe split up into smaller groups. Some of the group had no idea what Space Mountain was, while others had fond childhood memories of the ride. As they came out Finn and Rory stood and listened to the reactions of people as they came out. They varied from Paris' "Who's dumb idea was it to make an entire ride pitch black." Lane's "I feel sick after that." Robert and Seth were both in firm agreement with their "Awesome!"
"So should we split up into two groups? A group who wants to do the Matterhorn and Thunder Mountain, while the other group does Dumbo and the teacups?" Rory asked, the ensemble of friends.
"I want to do it all!" Finn pouted.
The group quickly split up with a plan to meet at the plaza cafe for lunch. Logan was shocked to see Summer join the rollercoaster group.
"Summer, what are you doing?"
Summer eyed her husband before replying with a sigh. "I'm going to have fun, I love rollercoasters, we went to Disneyworld every Christmas when I was a kid. I love it."
"Seriously?"
"Yes seriously, now are you coming or are you staying with the other girls and doing the kiddie rides." Summer said with a smirk, walking off with the group leaving her husband in shock.
Rory and Finn kissed goodbye as the groups split, they had agreed he would go with the more extreme group and she would stay with the others. What Rory didn't realize was that while they had been walking around Lane and Paris had conspired with their guide for a surprise. The guide walked their group, which was made up of most of the girls, over to the Bippity Boppity Boutique. They were all given makeovers and had their picture taken as a group before changing back into their own clothes, due to the adults not allowed in full costume rule disney had.
Rory looked at the picture of her dressed as Belle, Steph was Cinderella, Paris was Elsa, Lane had wanted to be Mulan, Rosemary was Merida, Juliet was Aurora, and Olivia had rounded the group out as Snow White. She really loved this group of friends. Sure she was friends with some of the other guys' girlfriends and wives who were on the trip but this core group they were her family.
"Thanks Guys," Rory said as the group walked towards the Dumbo ride.
"What for Gilmore?" Paris asked before she continued, "Come on let's ride these elephants and head to Big Thundermountain. We all wanted to do the roller coasters, we just needed a way to get you away from Finn to do that."
"Seriously?" Rory asked looking around the group as they all nodded, "okay, let's go" she said, linking arms with Paris.
The groups heard each other before they saw each other when lunch rolled around. Finn was loudly singing "It's a small world," while the guys tried to shut him up, Logan looked pale and nauseous while Summer was rolling her eyes as she tended to him. Paris was declaring that she hadn't been scared during the haunted mansion and that Steph was imagining it when she saw her jump.
After lunch the group decided to stay together and go to California Adventure to ride the Guardians of the Galaxy ride and visit Cars land. As they were getting ready to leave Disneyland, Finn was tapped on the shoulder, when he turned around pulling Rory with him Gaston was standing there. Gaston tried to get Rory to go with him, he even went as far as challenging Finn to a pushup competition. All guys and girls in the group except Rory were shocked when Finn won, Rory knew how strong her other half really was. Rory kissed Gaston on the cheek, before walking into Finn's arms where he greeted her with a smirk, and a wink at Gaston, while the group laughed and took pictures.
In California Adventure all the group managed to get pictures with Iron Man and Captain America. By the time they were leaving Carsland all the guys were carrying beers while the girls had managed to steal some of the guys' flasks and tipped the contents into their slushies.
As Rory and Finn made out on the top of the Pixar Ferris wheel, the rest of the group all made plans for what to do when the group split up later that night. They wanted to make sure that Rory and Finn didn't cross paths as they partied in the city.
"Finn?" Rory spoke resting her head against his shoulder while they rode the ferris wheel.
"Yes Ror?"
"Thank you."
"For what?" he asked, he was honestly confused as he hadn't done anything for her.
"For not trying to convince me that this was a dumb idea. For loving the same things as me, for generally being you."
"This was an awesome idea, look down there at that group, do they look like they had a bad time today? It's been awesome. We might need to get some water into you though, it's pretty warm and I think the sugar in your slush and candy is getting to you."
"Whiskey."
"What do you mean whiskey?"
"We all spiked our slushies with whiskey." Rory said with a smirk.
"That's why you didn't want beer, you had a better option."
"Yep!"
"You minx you," Finn said huskily, "Come on we have one more rotation before we have to get off this, and I think our friends are planning on splitting us up then, so we need to make the most of this." He attached his lips back to Rorys.
Finn had been correct as soon as they got back to the hotel they were all allowed to shower, and then they were forced to split up. All the girls piled into Rory and Finns suite to get ready together while all the boys went to Colin and Stephanies.
"When did Finn get so fit Rory?" Juliet asked with a smirk, "pretty sure he wasn't like that at Yale."
"Yeah if he had been, I might have actually let him catch me when he was chasing me," Rosemary said.
"Finn used to chase you at Yale?" Summer asked hesitantly, she still wasn't quite sure where she fit in with this group, especially when Rory and Paris were in the centre of it.
"All the time," Stephanie laughed.
"Does anyone remember the time I had to try and get the stooges all in my car after the pub closed one night and Finn was swinging off a lamppost declaring that he wasn't going home as Rosemary hadn't turned him down yet so he still had a chance?" Rory asked.
"Was I even out that night?" Rosemary asked.
"Nope! That's why you hadn't turned him down." The group all laughed.
"Anyway he has been that fit since I saw him again for the first time so I'm not sure when it happened but I'm definitely appreciating it." Rory said.
"Ugh Rory, that's my brother!" Olivia groaned.
"So Olivia, Jess eh?" Stephanie asked.
"We are just friends, he's nice and there aren't many other single people in the group."
"Oh my God, Rory, she sounds like you when you were seventeen, 'Jess is just my friend Dean, we just talk'" Lane mimic'd while Paris laughed hard in the background.
"That time we were studying and you had an empty house and Jess came round with food for you, you could cut the sexual tension with a knife, and you still said you were just friends." Paris added.
"Okay, can we stop with the ex talk at my bachelorette please?" Rory begged. "So seriously, you and Jess are not the worst idea ever."
"Rory I can't sleep with your ex while you're sleeping with my brother, thats just some kind of weird sex circle," Olivia said.
"I never slept with Jess." Rory said.
"What!" all the girls present except Lane exclaimed.
"Seriously Gilmore, I thought you tapped that?" Paris said.
"Paris I told you I didn't." Rory rolled her eyes.
"I thought you were lying. Now Olivia, that means you should definitely go for it." Paris stated. "He's smart but has maintained some of that bad boy thing from when he was a teenager."
"Just friends guys," Olivia reaffirmed. Internally though she had to admit the fact that Rory had never slept with him, made it much more of a consideration for her, even if just as a wedding fling.
Once they were all ready to go, the girls all piled into a limo which took them towards Santa Monica. Lane had asked around and found out about a place called the Bungalow. It was a bar with beachside dining, the food ranged from ceviche to nachos and burgers, so it catered for all the different tastes of the group. They stayed there, drinking and eating until nearly eleven, when they all got back into the limo which took them towards a club that Stephanie had found. The girls quickly got ensconced into the VIP section with bottle service, after a few toasts with champagne they split into smaller groups to dance, meaning someone was nearly always at the table.
At one point Rory and Summer were left at the table alone. Summer moved to a seat closer to Rory.
"Rory, I just wanted to say thank you."
"What for?" Rory asked, although she had a pretty good idea what was coming.
"For being the bigger person. I know I tried to make your life hell in high school, and now I'm married to your ex who tried to cause all kinds of problems previously. But thank you for inviting me. This is the closest thing to inclusion I have felt in the entire time I have been with Logan, none of the girls have been anything more than society mask level polite, and the you come along with probably the biggest reasons to hate me and you are the one to help everyone else accept me."
"Summer, we aren't kids anymore. If all the guys are going to remain as close as they are then we all have to try and get along. That's all I'm trying to do. We never really ever tried to get to know each other, we could have tons in common for all we know. You are married to my ex and your ex tried to date me in high school, chances are that means we are similar in ways we don't even realise. So truce?"
"Thanks Rory."
"No problem, now tell me how the hell do you deal with Shira?" With that one question they both dissolved into drunken giggles, which is how Lane and Paris found them when they returned.
