One morning Everest was sleeping in her pup house when her stomach growled.
"Wow I'm hungry." she said as she woke up.
Everest walked out of her pup house and started to stretch.
After she stretched her stomach growled again.
"Ohh I'm so hungry." said Everest.
Soon Jake came out of the cabin with Everest's pup bowl and a bag of pup food.
"Here you are Everest." he said as he set down his pup bowl and filled it with liver flavored pup food since she likes anything liver flavored.
"Thanks Jake," said Everest.
Then she started eating but faster than she normally does since she was so hungry.
"Woah, slow down Everest." warned Jake. "You could get sick if you eat too fast."
"Don't worry Jake, I'm fine." replied Everest.
"Ok then." said Jake.
Then he went to open the ski resort for the day.
Everest kept eating a little too fast.
Jake didn't know but apparently Everest had eaten a little too fast the day before.
Soon Everest had finished eating, but because she had eaten so fast she was still hungry.
Her stomach growled again.
"Wow, I must be really hungry today." Everest said to herself.
Then she saw Jake getting the ski resort ready for the day.
"Jake, can you please give me a little more food?" asked Everest.
Jake walked over to her and knelt down.
"Are you sure Everest?" he asked. "Your stomach could get upset."
"I'll be fine Jake." replied Everest.
Jake reluctantly poured some more food into Everest's bowl then put the pup food bag back in the cabin.
Everest quickly ate the food and Jake put her bowl back.
Then Everest went into her pup house to get her PAW Patrol gear on.
After she put on her gear, her tummy growled again and started to hurt a little.
"Hmm, my tummy hurts a little." thought Everest.
"Maybe my food needs to settle." she decided as she ran off to help Jake open the ski resort for the day.
Everest decided to ignore her tummy but little did she know she was starting to get a tummy ache.
Later on Everest was in her snow cat helping Jake plow the road up to the resort.
When her tummy started to hurt again.
"Ohh.." groaned Everest as she rubbed her right paw over her tummy.
"Maybe I need to use the bathroom." she decided.
Jake noticed Everest had stopped plowing and he stopped shoveling.
"Are you ok Everest?" he asked.
"Yes Jake. Just need to use the bathroom." replied Everest.
She hopped down from her snowcat and ran back to the cabin.
Everest stopped when she was near the cabin and looked around to see if anyone was watching her.
Jake was still shoveling so he didn't see Everest.
"Ok maybe I just need to do number two." she thought.
Everest dug a hole in the snow and squatted to do her business.
"Ahh.. that's better." she said while relieving herself.
When Everest was done she covered the hole with snow.
Her tummy hurt a little less now.
"That's it I just had to do number two." decided Everest.
Then she ran back to help Jake finish plowing the road.
Later on Everest had on her snowboarding gear and was about to snowboard down the mountain to test it.
She positioned her snowboard at the top of the slope.
Then Everest's tummy started hurting again.
"Ohh.. maybe it wasn't because I had to use the bathroom." she thought.
"Maybe I should lay down after I test the slope because I told Jake I would." decided Everest.
Everest stood on the snowboard and used her two left paws to push her snowboard.
As Everest was snowboarding down the slope, her tummy hurt worse then ever.
"Ohh.." she groaned as she rubbed her left paw on her stomach.
But because she had her left paw on her stomach she started to swerve on her snowboard.
"Woah!" she cried as she lost control.
Everest toppled onto her left side and she slid down the mountain the rest of the way.
Her snowboard also slid down the mountain.
Everest stopped at the bottom of the slope
"Oww.." she gasped.
Everest tried to stand but her paw hurt too much.
"Ow, Ow!" she yelped.
This time Everest realized her mistake.
"I should've listened to Jake and ate more slowly and now my tummy really hurts and my body feels sore." she cried.
Everest felt terrible.
Now she was stuck at the bottom of the mountain injured and she couldn't move.
Meanwhile Jake was at the top of the mountain looking for Everest.
"Everest, where are you?" he asked.
Then Jake remembered she told him she was snowboarding down the mountain.
Jake ran over to the slope and looked through his binoculars.
Then he saw a husky lying on her left side looking injured.
"Everest, are you alright?!" called Jake.
Everest didn't hear Jake because she was at the bottom of the mountain and she was injured.
"Hang on Everest, I'm coming!" called Jake.
He grabbed his snowboarding gear and headed down to Everest.
Soon Jake reached the bottom of the mountain and saw Everest laying on her side.
Everest saw Jake.
"Oh Jake, am I happy to see you." cried Everest.
"Everest are you alright?" asked Jake as he knelt down to his pup.
"No, my tummy hurts and so does my paw and my body is sore." replied Everest.
Jake put a comforting hand on Everest's right side.
"Don't worry Everest, I'll call the PAW Patrol." he said, pulling out his phone.
Meanwhile at the Lookout Marshall was finishing his lunch when the tv in the hangout area answered the call.
Marshall ran over there since his paw had healed from his spill on the beach.
"Ryder, dude it's Jake." said Jake as he appeared on the tv screen.
"Hi Jake," said Marshall.
"Oh, hi Marshall," said Jake. "Where's Ryder?"
"He's fixing up the pup park with Rocky and Skye." "Rubble is helping Farmer Al and Yumi." explained Marshall. "Chase is helping with things at City Hall, and Zuma is helping Captain Turbot." I'm looking after the Lookout until they get back."
"Ok, do you know when they'll be back?" asked Jake.
"Well they shouldn't be too long," said Marshall. "But don't worry Jake, I can help."
"Thanks Marshall, Everest seemingly has a bad stomach ache, she fell down the mountain and her body is sore." said Jake as he turned his phone around to show Marshall what had happened.
Marshall was surprised by the way the husky he had a crush on was in.
"Everest!" he gasped.
"I think she might need your medical attention," said Jake.
"Ok, Don't worry Everest I'm coming to rescue you!" cried Marshall.
He ran off to get his medical gear.
After he got it on he hopped into his ambulance, turned on the siren and raced towards the mountains.
Meanwhile I was leaving the grocery store with some groceries I bought when I saw Marshall racing up to the grocery store.
"Hey Marshall!" I called waving to him to get his attention.
Marshall turned off the siren so we could hear each other.
"Hi Adam." he said.
"Hey buddy, I see your paw's all better." I said.
"Yeah, but there's an emergency." Marshall replied.
"What's the emergency little buddy?" I asked.
"Apparently Everest has a bad stomach ache, she fell down the mountain, and her body is sore." explained Marshall.
I was surprised.
"Oh no, is Everest alright?" I asked.
"I don't know, she's injured and has a bad stomach ache." replied Marshall.
"You could use some more help, can I help also?" I asked.
"Of course, but hurry," said Marshall.
I quickly put the groceries I bought on the passenger seat of my truck and hopped in the driver side.
Then I raced after Marshall and followed him up the mountain.
We arrived at the ski resort and parked our trucks near the cabin.
We disembarked from our trucks and grabbed our snowboards.
"Jake said Everest fell down the mountain." Marshall told me.
I grabbed my binoculars from my truck and looked through them down the mountain.
Then we looked around to find where Everest had fallen.
Then I saw Jake beside a husky laying on her left side.
"There's Everest," I said pointing down to them.
"Come on, we need to get to her quickly," said Marshall urgently.
"Wait, do you have a stethoscope Marshall?" I asked.
Marshall was confused.
"Well, there's one in the back of my truck, why?" he asked.
I ran over to Marshall's ambulance and looked inside for the stethoscope.
"Well I can use it to check Everest's heartbeat and her pulse." I explained.
"Oh yeah and you can use it to see if Everest's tummy has improved," said Marshall.
"Exactly buddy boy." I said as I pulled the stethoscope from Marshall's truck.
Then we grabbed our snowboards and positioned them at the top of the mountain.
"Let's roll." I said as we pushed off our snowboards and raced down the mountain.
"We're coming Everest." called Marshall.
Soon we reached where Jake and Everest were.
Jake saw us racing in.
"Marshall, glad you're here," said Jake.
"And, I brought Adam too, cause he said he wanted to come and help." said Marshall.
"Great, glad you decided to help Adam," said Jake.
"Thanks Jake." I said.
"Oh Everest." cried Marshall as he walked over to the injured husky. "Are you alright?"
"I don't know Marshall." cried Everest. "My tummy really hurts, so does my paw and I feel sore."
"Marshall, should I use the stethoscope to check her heart?" I asked as I took off my helmet.
"Good thinking Adam." replied Marshall.
I put the ear tips in my ears and put the diaphragm on Everest's heart behind her pup tag.
"It's beating a little bit fast but that's normal after what you've been through Everest." I said.
"Thanks Adam," said Everest sadly.
"Hmm, let me try Adam." said Marshall taking off his helmet "I am the expert here."
I put the ear tips in Marshall's ears and held the diaphragm on Everest's heart again.
Marshall listened to Everest's heart.
"Hmm, yes Adam's right it's beating a little bit fast."
"Now let's check your pulse." I said.
I put the diaphragm on Everest's back right leg and held with my right hand and looked at my watch on my left wrist.
A minute later I told them what it was.
"It was 60 beats per minute." I told them.
"Let me try," said Marshall.
I put the ear tips in Marshall's ears again and held the diaphragm with my right hand and held my watch up so he could see it.
A minute later Marshall told them the same thing.
"Yes, Adams right it is 60 beats per minute." confirmed Marshall.
I put the ear tips back in my ears and held the diaphragm on Everest's back in front of her pup pack so I could hear her lungs.
"Now breathe slowly." I told Everest.
Everest took a couple deep breaths.
"Your lungs sound fine Everest." I said.
"Let me listen Adam." said Marshall.
I put the ear tips in Marshall's ears and put the diaphragm back on Everest's back.
Everest took a couple more deep breaths.
"Yes Adam's right your breathing is fine." said Marshall.
I took the eartips out of his ears and put them around my neck.
Then Marshall felt all over Everest to see if she was hurt anywhere else.
"Your body is probably just sore from the impact of your spill." he said.
"Ok Marshall." cried Everest.
"What about her paw little buddy?" I asked.
"Let's find out." replied Marshall.
Ruff! X-ray screen!" he barked.
Marshall's X-ray screen popped out of his pup pack and scanned Everest's left front paw.
"It's not broken but it's sprained," said Marshall.
"Well that's good," said Jake.
"We need to wrap it." added Marshall.
"Ruff! Bandage!" he barked.
A bandage popped out of a side pocket in Marshall's pup pack and I caught it.
Then I wrapped it around Everest's sprain.
"There you go Everest." I said as I patted her head.
"Thanks Adam," said Everest sadly.
"No problem Everest." I said.
"Now let's check your stomach ache and see if it's improved any." said Marshall.
I put the ear tips back in my ears and put the diaphragm on Everest's stomach.
I listened as Everest's stomach growled a little.
"Ohh.. it really hurts." moaned Everest.
"It sounds like that." I said.
"Let me listen," said Marshall.
I put the ear tips in Marshall's ears and I put the diaphragm on Everest's stomach again.
Everest's stomach growled again.
"Yep , it's definitely a bad stomach ache." confirmed Marshall as I took the ear tips out of his ears and put them around my neck.
"Oh no Marshall!" wailed Everest as she tried not to move "Will my tummy ever feel better?"
"Everest you'll be fine." soothed Marshall. "Adam and I will help you feel better. Your stomach is just upset right now."
"Now what happened?" Marshall asked his girlfriend.
"Well I was snowboarding down the mountain and my tummy really hurt so I put my left paw on it and it made me lose control and I fell down here." explained Everest sadly.
"Did your stomach hurt any other time today?" I asked.
"Well when I was helping Jake plow the road up here it hurt again so I thought I had to use the bathroom." went on Everest.
Marshall pondered for a moment.
"Well you're right sometimes your stomach does hurt when you need to use the bathroom." he said.
"Any other time?" I asked.
"Well after I ate breakfast and put on my gear it started to hurt," said Everest sadly.
"Were you eating a certain way?" I asked.
Everest remembered she had eaten kind of fast that morning.
"Yes, I was eating kind of fast." she replied sadly.
"I knew you should've eaten more slowly." said Jake.
"Yes, if you eat too fast your stomach doesn't have time to settle your food so you get even more hungry." explained Marshall.
"And did you eat more than you had to?" I asked. "Cause that can also make your stomach hurt."
"Yes I did." sighed Everest.
"Don't worry Everest, you just need plenty of water and rest and your stomach will feel better by tomorrow." said Marshall.
"Ok Marshall." shivered Everest.
"You must be freezing if you fell down the mountain." I said.
"If we brought a blanket we could warm you up." added Jake.
"Well Adam and I did." pointed out Marshall.
"Ruff! Blanket!" he barked.
A blanket popped out of a side pocket in Marshall's pup pack and I caught it and laid it in the snow.
Then ever so carefully I picked up Everest and set her on the blanket and wrapped her in it.
Then I picked her up and held her in my arms.
"Just rest your paw on my shoulder." I told Everest.
"Ok thanks Adam." said Everest as she put her left front paw on my right shoulder.
Then Jake grabbed his, mine and Everest's snowboards.
Then Marshall grabbed his and put his right front paw in one of the front bindings since his paw had healed from his spill on the beach.
"Now let's head back up to the cabin so we can get her warm." said Jake.
"Good idea." said Marshall "I was getting a little cold down here."
So the three of us started to make our way up the mountain and towards the cabin.
On our way up Everest shivered a little in my arms so I held her closer so she could feel my body heat.
"Don't worry Everest, we're nearly there." I comforted.
"Ok Adam." replied Everest.
Soon we reached the top of the mountain and walked toward the cabin.
"Now let's get you inside." said Marshall up to Everest.
We walked inside the cabin and Jake put away the snowboards.
I sat down on the couch still holding Everest in my arms in the blanket and Marshall hopped up beside us.
Then Jake started a fire in the fireplace.
After he did that Jake went to get some water for Everest.
Then Marshall got a pillow from the couch so Everest could rest her paw on it.
I sat down by the fireplace and unwrapped Everest from the blanket and set her down on the pillow and ever so carefully made sure Everest's paw was straight.
"There you go Everest." said Marshall warmly as he fluffed the pillow making it more comfortable.
"Thanks Marshall." said Everest, sounding more calm as I gently stroked her fur.
Then Jake came with Everest's bowl with some water.
"There you go Everest." he said as he set down her bowl in front of her.
"Thanks Jake and I'm sorry about this morning and me getting a bad tummy ache." replied Everest.
"Don't worry about it Everest." said Jake as he patted her head. "I just want you to feel better."
Everest smiled.
"Thanks Jake." she replied. "And thank you too Adam for carrying me up the mountain and helping me in here."
"No problem Everest." I said.
"And thank you two for helping me when I fell down the mountain." Everest added.
No problem Everest, it's our pleasure." said Marshall giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"Of course Everest." I added gently stroking her fur again.
Then Jake looked out the window from the fireplace.
"It's getting late, you two should be heading home." he said.
Marshall pondered for a moment.
Then he had an idea.
"Actually Jake, could I stay here for the night just to help Everest? And for the next morning?" he asked.
"Of course you can, Marshall," Jake replied. "The mountains can be dangerous at night, and if it's ok with Ryder."
"I'm sure Ryder will be fine with it." reassured Marshall.
"And you can stay the night here as well Adam." added Jake.
"Thanks Jake." I said. "If Marshall is spending the night here then I am also. I can also help take care of Everest for the night."
"Ok I'll fix us something to eat." said Jake as he went to prepare some dinner for us.
Then Marshall tapped his pup tag to let Ryder know where he was and told him what happened.
"So me and Adam are gonna spend the night at Jake's, is that ok with you?" He asked Ryder.
"Well, since Everest hurt herself and has a stomach ache, of course you can stay the night at Jake's since Adam is also and if you tell me how's she's doing in the morning." replied Ryder through the pup tag.
"Of course Ryder," said Marshall. "And tell the other pups Adam and I are spending the night here."
"Of course I will Marshall." said Ryder.
"Ok goodnight Ryder." said Marshall.
"Goodnight Marshall and tell Adam I said goodnight," said Ryder.
"Of course I will, Ryder, goodnight." said Marshall turning off his pup tag. "Ryder said to tell you goodnight Adam."
"I know, I heard." I replied, still stroking Everest's fur.
"Foods almost ready." said Jake to me and Marshall.
Marshall and I went to the kitchen area and I brought over Everest's food to her by the fireplace.
Then Marshall brought his food over to the fireplace also so he could keep an eye on Everest.
Jake and I sat at the table while Marshall and Everest ate near the fireplace.
"Make sure to eat more slowly." reminded Marshall. "We don't need your stomach ache getting worse."
"Yes Marshall." replied Everest.
She started to eat more slowly and then Marshall started eating.
Then they lapped some water from their bowls.
Jake and I finished eating first then I went to sit by the fireplace while Jake cleared the table.
Marshall then finished eating.
I took his bowls and put them away.
Everest was almost finished with her water.
"Don't drink it that fast." warned Marshall. "Or you'll have to use the bathroom in the night."
"Don't worry Marshall." replied Everest. "I'll be fine."
Marshall sighed.
Soon Everest finished her water and I took it and put it away.
Later on we were getting ready for bed.
Jake handed me a pillow and blanket so I could sleep on the couch.
Then he gave Marshall a pillow to sleep on.
I put Everest's pillow near the couch so Everest could have a bit more space.
Marshall supported Everest's weight to help her over to it like Rubble had done when he sprained his paw at the beach.
Then he helped her lay down and she put her paw on the pillow.
"Ahh.. thanks Marshall," said Everest.
"No problem Everest." Marshall replied.
"If you need anything, let me know." he said as he went to lay down on his pillow for the night.
Jake went to his room while I laid down on the couch.
"Goodnight Marshall." I said.
"Goodnight Adam."replied Marshall as he snuggled on the pillow.
"Goodnight Everest." I said. "I hope you feel better tomorrow."
"Thanks Adam." Everest replied. "Goodnight."
I turned off the light and laid back down on the couch and fell asleep.
Soon we were all fast asleep.
Then in the middle of the night, Everest felt the urge to pee.
"Uh-oh, I need to go!" thought Everest.
Everest tried to hold it.
She started to squirm.
"Psst Marshall." whispered Everest.
Marshall was sound asleep on his pillow near the couch where I was sleeping.
"Marshall." whispered Everest again.
Marshall yawned and slowly opened his eyes.
"What is it Everest." whispered Marshall sleepily.
"I need to go." whispered Everest trying to hold it.
Marshall noticed Everest's body squirming a little.
"Shh." he whispered. "Adam's asleep.
Everest knew they had to be quiet or else they'd wake me and maybe Jake.
"I know." she said. "But I need to pee."
Marshall knew he needed to do something.
He knew the husky needed to relieve herself.
"I told you not to drink the water like that." whispered Marshall.
"I know, but I need to go." replied Everest quietly.
Marshall got up from his pillow so he could help Everest stand and get outside.
He quickly went to her left side.
Everest tried to stand but it was hard due to her sprained left paw.
Marshall quickly crouched beside Everest's left side and helped her stand on her other three paws.
"Now try to walk slowly." whispered Marshall.
He started to walk slowly while Everest hobbled slowly beside him.
Marshall remembered Rubble had done this when he tried to get him to Katie's.
Everest was trying to hold it while Marshall supported her left side.
When they reached the door they stopped so Marshall could open the door to let them outside.
Marshall helped Everest sit down.
"Ok try to hold it, I'll get the door open." he said.
"I'll try Marshall." replied Everest squirming.
Marshall quickly ran to the door and as quietly as he could opened it but only a little so the cold air wouldn't get in as fast.
Then he went back to Everest to help her outside.
Marshall helped Everest stand again and helped her outside the cabin
The cold winds outside made them shiver.
"It's cold out here." shivered Marshall. "Good thing Adam and I are spending the night here."
"Just help me, I really need to go." said Everest trying hard to hold it.
"Of course, we don't need you having an accident." nodded Marshall.
As Marshall helped Everest to the side of the cabin to help her do her business he felt something wet and warm where he was stepping.
He looked down and saw something coming from Everest.
"Uh, Everest I think you're peeing on yourself." Marshall pointed out.
"Oh-no!" cried Everest. "I had an accident."
Marshall knew Everest really had to go now.
"Just hold it a bit longer." he reassured.
Everest put her back legs together and squirmed again.
Then she felt something in her behind.
"Uh-oh, now I need to do number two again." squirmed Everest.
"Here, just sit," said Marshall.
Marshall helped Everest sit down again then he dug a hole near where Everest had used the bathroom earlier that day.
"Now you can go." he said.
Marshall helped Everest to the hole he dug and he helped Everest keep balance.
Everest squatted in the hole Marshall dug to do her business.
Marshall looked to his right so he didn't see his girlfriend doing her business.
Soon Everest was done.
"I'm done Marshall." she said.
"Ok Everest, let's get this mess cleaned up." replied Marshall.
First Marshall helped Everest inside so she didn't have to sit in the cold.
Then he used snow to fill the hole and also used some snow to clean Everest's accident.
Then he went back inside and shut the door so then he could help Everest back to her pillow.
Marshall helped her lay back down on her pillow and made sure her paw was resting comfortably on the pillow.
Then he went back to his pillow and he looked up at me to make sure I hadn't woken up from what had happened.
I hadn't so Marshall went back to sleep and so did Everest.
Soon it was the next morning and Everest woke up feeling a little better.
Marshall then woke up.
"Morning Everest," he said.
"Morning Marshall." Everest replied.
"How's your stomach?" asked Marshall.
"It feels better than yesterday." replied Everest.
"Well that's good," said Marshall.
"Sorry about last night and for my little accident." apologized Everest.
"Don't worry Everest, you couldn't hold it." reassured Marshall. "I told you to eat slower anyway."
"Thanks Marshall. And thanks for helping me outside so I could use the bathroom, despite my accident." said Everest.
"No problem." replied Marshall.
Then Jake walked into the living room.
"Hey you two." he greeted. "How are you feeling Everest?"
"My tummy feels better but my paw still hurts a little." Everest replied.
"That's a good sign," said Jake.
Then I woke up.
"Morning Adam," said Everest.
"Morning Everest." I yawned. "Morning Marshall and Jake. How are you feeling Everest?"
"My tummy is better but my paw still hurts." Everest told me.
"Don't worry Everest." reassured Marshall. "Your paw should heal up in a few days."
"Well that's good," said Everest.
"How about some breakfast?" asked Jake.
"Alright," said Marshall. "Just as soon as I tell Ryder how Everest is doing."
"Ok Marshall," said Jake.
Then he went to get breakfast ready for us.
Marshall hopped up beside me on the couch and quickly tapped his pup tag to call Ryder.
Ryder was making sure everything at the Lookout was ready for the day when he got the call from Marshall.
"Morning Marshall." greeted Ryder.
"Morning Ryder." Marshall greeted back.
"How's Everest doing?" Ryder asked.
"Her stomach is better but her paw still hurts a little." explained Marshall.
"Well at least she's a bit better than yesterday." said Ryder.
"Yeah." agreed Marshall.
"So how did you sleep?" asked Ryder.
Marshall knew he should tell Ryder about the little accident Everest had that night.
"Well I slept fine except for a little something," he replied.
"What happened?" asked Ryder.
"Yeah, what was it little buddy?" I agreed.
Marshall sighed.
"Well Everest had to pee last night so I helped her outside but she had a little accident when I got out. But I cleaned it up with the snow." explained Marshall.
"Oh well don't worry about that Marshall," said Ryder.
"Thanks Ryder, I told her the same thing," said Marshall.
"Well I guess you and Adam should look after Everest for the morning." Ryder said. "I'll let you know if we need you."
"Ok Ryder." replied Marshall.
"Ok tell Adam I said good morning." said Ryder.
"Good morning Ryder." I said into Marshall's pup tag.
"Oh good morning Adam," said Ryder.
I rubbed Marshall's back.
"I guess I should get the pup's breakfast ready," said Ryder.
"Ok bye Ryder." replied Marshall.
"Bye Ryder." I said.
"Bye Adam, bye Marshall." said Ryder as Marshall turned off his pup tag.
Then Marshall heard his stomach growl.
"Wow, I'm getting hungry." said Marshall rubbing his stomach with his left paw.
"Maybe you should get some breakfast." I said.
"Good idea Adam," said Marshall.
I patted his head and went to see how Jake was doing with breakfast.
Marshall went over to Everest and helped her over to the kitchen area.
Jake filled Marshall and Everest's bowls and they started to eat.
Then Jake and I had breakfast.
This time Everest ate slower and her stomach didn't hurt as much.
Marshall was glad his girlfriend was alright and her tummy ache was better.
Then Marshall helped Everest outside for a morning bathroom break.
And then he helped Everest get around due to her sprained left paw.
So me and Marshall stayed at Jake's for the day to help out with things there and to look after Everest also.
The End
