Hello again! New story here!
It's the web series Satellite City!
I stumbled upon this series accidentally on YouTube one day, and I must say, it's not what I expected. After doing research online and reading the lore about it, I must say this is one of the strangest things I've seen.
But I like it. So, I've decided to write about it.
This and my other Satellite City stories are AUs.
Not everything I put in this story or other stories is canon though. Some of it I've made up because either it doesn't exist or hasn't been revealed yet, and some of it I've changed.
Also, I will be changing things about the creatures, like parts of their biology, in this and other stories as well.
This story will contain: adventure, oddness, violence, gore, romance, magic, transformations, and many other things!
This won't be my only Satellite City story!
Disclaimer: I do not own Satellite City. It is owned by Sam Fennah.
Now, let's begin our story!
Awakening
It was a stormy late afternoon in the city of London. Rain poured down quite hard, while lightning flashed almost every few seconds, thunder ringing through the air.
On the outskirts of the city, a 17-year-old boy could be seen running into an old red brick apartment complex called "Peaceful Neighbors." Once inside, the boy took off his soaked blue jacket and put it on his arm. He had lightly tanned skin, bright blue eyes, and blondish brown hair. He stood 6 feet tall, and was wearing grey shorts, silver-gray sneakers, white socks, a black t-shirt with a picture of a fox on it, and a leather necklace with a fox and cat made of some sort of purple stone or gem as the centerpiece.
This was Gavin Woodring.
He sighed as he walked up the small, somewhat rickety stairs up to the third floor. "Man is it pouring outside," he said to himself as he arrived at the third floor and started walking down it. The floor wasn't in the best condition, as the gray wallpaper had several tears in it, while the red carpet on the floor was extremely dusty and ragged. About a third of the lights in the hallway were out as well, with another third flickering on and off. 'I really want to get away from here,' He thought as he looked around at the hallway before turning to the door of his apartment. Said door was light brown in color, and had the numbers "48" on it, with the "4" being two inches smaller and white in color, while the "8" was black in color. 'But I can't afford another place.' He sighed as he pulled out his key and unlocked the door, before stepping inside.
After locking the door behind him, he walked into the tiny kitchen and opened the small black refrigerator, grabbing a bottle of water. The rest of the kitchen was black in color, with dirty white tile on the floor and a pealing ceiling. The sink had some rust spots on the sides, while the counter had several cracks in it.
He then walked down a small hallway to his room, which was in slightly better condition. The twin-sized bed sat in a corner, while a small brown dresser sat against the wall, a shadeless lamp on top of it. The floor was covered in shag carpet that was matted with age, and the walls had flecks of paint missing. A ceiling fan slowly spun on the ceiling, two out of its five blades missing.
Gavin sighed once more as he shut the door behind him and turned off the light, before setting his jacket down on the small dresser and heading over to the bed. 'I'm so tired,' He thought as he lay down on the bed, kicking off his shoes as he lay there. 'Work today was a pain in the butt.' He was a waiter at an old restaurant down the street that was called "Jones' Home for the Hungry." They were quite understaffed, and he wasn't paid that well despite him working very long hours. They were kind enough though, to let him eat there for free.
As he lay there, he slowly started closing his eyes, exhaustion overtaking him. 'At least I don't work…tomorrow,' he thought, before he fell fast asleep.
Gavin sighed happily as he sat on a picnic blanket in a sunny forest, birds singing and deer grazing nearby. All was peaceful.
All was calm.
As he sat there, a smile on his face, a cold wind began to blow, causing him to shiver and hug himself, before he noticed that the sun had disappeared. As had all the animals.
"Where'd everyone go?" he said, before he spotted a wall of darkness moving quickly towards him, consuming everything in its path. "What in the world?" He then tried to get up and run away but found that he was frozen in place.
The wall of darkness then reached him, and everything went black.
He blinked his eyes several times as he looked around, and saw that he was now standing in a corridor of some sort. Said corridor appeared to have a cobblestone floor, while multicolored veins glowed with light, as they grew along the floor and wooden walls in multiple spots, zigzagging everywhere. Some grew up like grass or small glowing hairs on the stone archway above his head.
"Where am I?" He said, his voice echoing throughout the corridor.
As if responding to his question, a bright multicolored light started shining from an archway ahead of him. "What in the world?" He said as he stared at the lit archway, before he started walking towards it.
When he got to the archway, he gasped at the sight before him.
There, way off in the distance, a massive orb floated in the darkness, a multitude of colors visible on it, some so bizarre or beautiful that he couldn't possibly begin to describe them. Multiple rectangular and square blocks of varying sizes and shapes covered the orb. Rotating slowly around the orb were multiple rings, each one colored with hues he couldn't describe. Said rings had multiple rectangular and square blocks on them spaced at odd intervals and at uneven heights. Several columns made up of more blocks could be seen extending from the orb toward the rings. Beyond this, there appeared to be almost a wall of sorts, mainly colored an orangish, with other colors such as pink and purple scattered throughout it. More of those strange blocks could be seen, as well as a pattern that looked almost like the zig-zagging lines of a computer chip that was on the entire structure.
It was a beautiful and wondrous sight.
"What is this?" he said as he stared out from the corridor, looking around with amazement. He then looked down at his hands, and his eyes widened at what he saw. Orbs, liquids, and solids of various shapes and of blacks, blues and other colorful hues, some of which matched the indescribable ones on the object floating far away, were coming out of his hands. "And what is going on?"
Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him, making his heart race. He slowly turned around, and his eyes widened at what he saw.
There, slowly walking towards him, was a 14 foot 2-inch-tall creature of some sort. Said creature had a deep, deep blue/almost stone-gray skin and walked on two long limbs that ended in red-nailed, five-toed paws that looked almost like a dragon's foot. It was wearing an outfit that looked a lot like a suit mixed with a dress, and was made of some sort of fabric that matched the creature's skin color. The edges of the outfit and the wide collar were colored a blood red, and the sides of the skirt that hung by its legs had blood red stripes extending into sharp-looking points with each layer of the skirt till it reached what he guessed was the mid-calf. Said outfit was held on to the creature by a silver cord around its waist, with the skirt open below it so it could make its large, elegant steps. Its long sleeves ended in jagged edges, which had large red jagged stripes on them that ended right at the creature's wrists. Its five-fingered hands were tipped with long sharp red claws. Four large lumps could be seen on its chest underneath the fabric, letting him know that it was probably a female. The creature had a somewhat long neck, with red stripes on the sides and small white dots going up onto her face. She had a slanted, somewhat short muzzle like that of a lizard, with sharp interlocking white teeth visible at the ends of her mouth. Her two large sicky yellow eyes had lighter yellow cross iris', and were surrounded by pure white long eyelashes. A mane of red hair that turned white at the edges ran from the top of her head down to the nape of her neck. Four large ears that looked almost like a goats sat on her head, with the top two ears larger than the lower ones and pointed up diagonally, while the bottom ones were smaller and pointed diagonally down. All four ears curved slightly upwards and ended in a point. Two large blood red antlers stuck up from the top of her head, with her mane starting between the two. The antlers stuck up and out diagonally a few feet, with many of the ends curling in on themselves in tight spirals, and a couple ending in sharp points that stuck straight up. Finally, at least 8 long smooth tails flicked this way and that behind her like tentacles, each one slowly turning from the color of her skin to blood red at the pointy tips.
"What are you?" he said as he stared at the creature, which was staring directly at him with what appeared to be a disgusted or condescending look.
The creature did not respond as she stopped before him, looking down at him with her piercing eyes. She stared at him for several seconds, before she reached down and grabbed him by the throat.
"Gack!" Gavin grabbed her hands and tried to pry them off his neck. But her grip was like a steel vice. "Let…go!"
The female did not do that at all. Instead, she lifted him off the ground, bringing him closer to her face as she looked at him closely. She then grinned, showing off her very sharp teeth, before she opened her mouth and started to bite down on his head.
"NO! NO!" Gavin screamed as her teeth got closer and closer to his head, fear and panic on his face. "NOOOOOO!"
"Noo!" Gavin yelled as he woke up, sitting up in his bed with sweat on his brow. He panted as he looked around at his surroundings. When he saw he was still in his room and it was still nighttime, he let out a sigh of relief. "Oh thank goodness. It was just a dream," He said as he lay back down, wiping the sweat off his brow as he lay there.
But then he noticed it.
"What in the hell?" he said as he looked at his hands. Both hands were becoming pitch black in color before his very eyes. "What is happening to me?!"
He attempted to wipe off the blackness on his hands, but he failed. It was something inside them that was causing them to change. "I..I gotta go to the hospital!" He said as he sat up and got off the bed, running over to the bedroom door. When he grabbed the door handle though, something odd happened.
The blackness on his hands spread to the doorknob and then the door itself. He immediately let go of the door, and watched as the blackness continued to spread out around his room. His eyes widened as he watched the ceiling get covered in blackness and change into the vein-like lights he had seen in his dream, with more of those lights growing in the surfaces.
"What?! No, no! It can't be!" He exclaimed as he looked at the lights. "It was just a dream! It was just a dream!"
The window itself changed, its frame now made of stone, with a skull at the top of it.
Gavin clutched his hands together as he stood in the center of the room, scared and worried about the situation. "NO! NO! This isn't real! I'm still dreaming, right?" He said to himself as he looked at the dresser, which had become metal and now had spiral legs and handles on its drawers. "Right?" He then sat down on his bed, but quickly jumped up when he felt that the bed had changed as well. Looking at it, he saw that the blanket on the bed was now covered in soft white feathers, while the mattress had become even squishier than before.
That was the last straw.
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" He screamed as loudly as he could. Unbeknownst to him, multiple shockwaves of energy started pouring off him, making the veins of light pulse and grow erratically. The shockwaves tore through the city like an intangible and invisible tidal wave, quickly reaching the ocean and going over it.
Within 30 seconds, the shockwaves had reached over half of the world. And after one minute had passed, they'd gone over the entire globe.
After screaming for about 2 minutes straight, his eyes rolled back and he passed out, falling to the floor as his hands returned to their normal coloration.
As he lay there, the room started slowly reverting to normal, starting with the lights. The reversion process took only a few minutes, before the room looked like it had before he had woken up from the nightmare.
What Gavin would soon find out is that his freak out did not go unnoticed.
It had been noticed by hundreds of individuals, maybe thousands.
And not one of them was human.
Well, this was an interesting chapter!
Can't wait to write more!
