TW: Talks of suicide.
Loona stumbled into the small apartment she and Blitz shared, wobbling back and forth as she tried not to trip over the 3 boxes in her path. Even in her drunken
stupor, something felt kind of odd. For one thing, Blitz's phone was lying on the floor, open to an image Blitz had only shown her a few times since he had adopted
her, the screen wet but looking more like he'd left it out in the rain than had a personal fling with it, and the last thing she heard was muttering and sniffling. The
hellhound practically melted on the couch next to her adopted caregiver, slowly turning her head towards the sound. "Hhheeeyyyy Blitz, ya..you ok bu..bu..buddy?"
Loona slurred with a drunken grin, gently grabbing his shoulder, and turning the imp to face her. However, it was the scene that started to play out in front of her that
made her almost immediately sober up. Everything happened so fast, but at the same time it felt like forever, Blitz holding the green dagger to his wrist, tears
streaming down his face, Loona reacting on instinct by grabbing his wrist and pulling the blade out of his hand as she stood up and backed away from him. "What the
fuck are you doing?!"
Blitz looked down at his wrist, which had barely a minor nick on it, before staring up at his adopted daughter in an almost trance-like state. "Loo..Loony?" Blitz shook
his head and smacked himself to make sure she wasn't just in his head. Blitz reached out with a single finger and tapped the hellhound on the snout, getting an
annoyed growl in response. "Ok, so I guess I'm not completely crazy tonight." Blitz muttered to himself, before putting his mental mask back on. "Sooo, Loony, how
was your night? Mind giving me the knife back?"
Loona gave Blitz a glance of confusion, before quickly tossing the knife in her room and shutting the door, putting herself between him and her room. "Not a shot in
hell Blitz." She stated firmly, doing her best to hide her concern. Blitz sighed, rolled his eyes, and started to walk towards her with his best fatherly dominance look
on. "Loona, come on, you know better than to take things from me." Blitz stated, Loona almost expecting him to shake his finger at her. However, the hellhound
refused to move, giving out a low warning growl. "Yeah, and I also know better than to let you go around offing yourself. Besides, it'd be bad for business." She said,
both giving a sarcastic laugh, before Blitz got uncomfortably serious. "Loona, knife, now." Blitz demanded, practically growling. But Loona stood her ground, taking a
defensive stance and balling up her fists. "No."
And with a sarcastic chuckle from Blitz, the fight began with Blitz lunging towards Loona, flying through the air, and trying to push her hard enough to knock her over.
Loona responded by locking her arms around Blitz's head and neck, forcing him to the ground. Blitz wriggled out from Loona's grip and quickly climbed behind her,
wrapping his arms around her head and throat in a sleeper hold. "I don't want to hurt you Loona, but you're really testing my patience." Blitz snarled. Loona wedged
her front claws under the arm Blitz had around her neck, and then proceeded to elbow him in the face before throwing him off of her and on to the floor. "And I just
want to know what the fuck got into you!" she shouted, before running forward and punting him right between the legs.
Blitz groaned slightly, coughing as Loona stared down at him, her face showing genuine concern. As she knelt down to help him up, Blitz grabbed Loona's arm and
smashed their head together, causing her to fall face first into the floor, rolling on her back and holding her head. Then, slowly then gradually getting louder, they both
started laughing and exchanging pained groans and swears with each other.
After several minutes, the two stared at one another, before Blitz turned his head away from Loona's gaze. "I..I had, a really, really bad night. It was like taking that
drugged-out trip on Earth all over again, only this time it was real, and the more I thought about the past, the more I realized just how much of a failure I am. I've
pushed everyone I care about away from me; Stolas, Moxxie, Millie, Fizz, Verosika, even my own family." Blitz struggled to hold back the tears that threatened to
come on again. "I figured if I just ended it all, then everyone would be better off, that they'd be able to continue without me. I know you'd be just fine without me.
You're strong, independent, and like you said back on the beach, you didn't need me then…" "I don't need you now." Loona finished his statement with a deep sigh.
"That was…I didn't mean…I " the hellhound grunted in frustration as she struggled to get the words to come to her. "I'm sorry." Loona finally managed to mumble
under her breath, just enough to where she hoped Blitz would catch it.
"Forgiven Looney." Blitz stated, breathing a deep sigh. "So, how was your night?" Loona blushed nervously. "It was, fine. Tex and his girlfriend took me to a few clubs,
we got super-wasted, and we "Loona mumbled something under her breath that Blitz couldn't exactly make out "and then I came back here." She stated, staring
straight at the roof. A smirk crossed Blitz's face. "What was that?" Loona mumbled again. The smirk grew wider. "I can't hear ya Looney Ba-booney." Blitz sing-
songed. This time Loona gave out a more familiar frustrated groan. "Cartoons, ok, we watched cartoons, are you happy now?" she asked with a huff. Blitz blinked
several times while staring at his adopted daughter, whose face was slowly turning red with embarrassment. "You would have liked one of them. The main character
was a horse." She stated in an almost monotone.
Blitz shook his head. "I'm sorry I went crazy tonight. I just felt so, lost and alone and broken and I.." he gave a depressed sigh. "I..I just.." Before he could get the
words out, Loona reached over and pulled Blitz close in a hug, causing the imp to suddenly turn redder than red. "Uh, Looney, what're you doing?" Blitz asked
nervously. Loona looked down at her adopted dad and growled in annoyance. "I'm trying to comfort you da, ugh, Blitz. Tell anyone about this and we fight for real."
She said in a huff. Before Blitz could get a single question out, a soft, almost angelic voice came out of Loona's mouth. Blitz just laid in the arms of his daughter,
listening to her do the one thing he'd never heard her do, sing:
"You're okay, you're alright
I'll never, ever leave your side
I will stay, and I will fight
With you."
The young hellhound's voice practically howled out the final verse of the song, as a soothing yet haunting melody began to drift through the apartment. Oddly, Blitz
felt the weight of his stress and anxiety wash over him as he allowed himself to tilt forward into Loona's chest, falling asleep almost immediately. Oddly enough,
maybe it was the booze finally letting up or her own exhaustion, but Loona couldn't muster the strength to lift him off, letting her own desire for sleep take hold.
The next morning ~~~~~~~~
Blitz sat up as slowly as he possibly could, panicking at first because he wasn't sure what or who he had or hadn't done the night before and he was not used to
having a drunken hellhound, let alone his drunken hellhound, that close to him. Gently sliding himself out from Loona's grip, he started to walk to the bathroom,
before needing to release Loona's death grip on his tail, which the rather large girl now curled around, holding it like a giant puppy. Blitz gave a quick search for his
phone and snapped a photo of this moment, hoping it wouldn't wake her. Once he was finally free, Blitz set about doing his basic morning routines, but one number,
highlighted on his phone, kept nagging him. Stolas' number.
The smell of bacon and coffee drifted through Loona's nostrils, causing her to almost immediately perk up, before her stomach and the hangover reminded her of the
alcohol she had the night before, sending her practically flying into the bathroom to hurl out what food she had from the night before. Once she was done, she
staggered out of the bathroom, only to find Blitz holding a bottle of orange juice and two antacid tablets. She gave a sheepish grin before accepting both.
As the day wore on, Loona quickly regained her normal composure, while Blitz returned to his snarky self, the two keeping the prior night's train wreck between
themselves. After a few quick slaughters and some celebration, Blitz found himself sitting in his office, flipping through the numbers on his phone. He stopped on
Stolas' number, this time hesitating. Instead, he gave a quick tap on the microphone on his desk that separated him from the rest of the world.
Loona quickly snuck into Blitz's office at his request, only to find him debating with himself over rather or not to call Stolas. Loona, after several minutes of watching
Blitz debate, snatched the phone from him and quickly dialed the number. As Blitz stared at the phone with a mixed look of guilt and utter terror, Loona looked around
to make sure no one else was watching, then reached down and gave Blitz a quick hug. "You're okay." she whispered, before leaving faster than Blitz could process
what had just happened. Taking a deep breath, Blitz calmly repeated Loona's words to himself. "You're okay." Before speaking to the royal owl demon on the other
end.
Several weeks later~~~~~~
Loona was browsing through Hell's internet, before she stumbled on the front headline of DemonsInCorporateKonnections inc's main website, "Odd Power Couple
Burns Down Ozzie's Nightclub. Imp heard screaming "How's this for fucking therapy?!" While his boyfriend, Prince Stolas Goetia, simply cheered on the massacre.
Neither have been reached for comment."
The End!
