A/N: Okay here's the next chapter. It's kinda short. There's going to be some time jumps so that I can get to graduation a little quicker. But hang with me it's going to be worth it. Hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 14

Rory POV

We were a few weeks shy of starting our sophomore year at Yale. Logan had spent most of the summer working with his Dad and Honor, while I had spent most of my summer working with Grandpa Straub. Grandpa Straub had decided to open a firm in Boston so my parents had spent the first part of the summer looking at houses. Needless to say neither of them were happy about moving to Boston. James and Steph seemed to still be going strong as were Finn and Mads.

Since we still had a few weeks until school started back, we all decided to get away for a week. I'd convinced my parents to let us use their house at Martha's Vineyard. My Dad wasn't too happy partying at his house but I'd promised him that I'd make sure that it was clean before we left. Logan was currently in Vancouver checking on a paper with Honor. He'd told me that he'd meet us at the Vineyard when he got back.

Steph and I had decided to go before anyone else so that we could air the place out and do some grocery shopping. It would be the first time that Steph and I had really spent any time together since the whole Tristen incident. We had just gotten onto the ferry when I noticed that she was looking at me. "You okay?" I asked her.

She nodded. "Yeah, just been thinking about some things." She said.

"You wanna talk about it?" I asked.

"James and I…we've been back together for a while now…but I guess it's just now hitting me. You know, how are we supposed to make things work? He's at Princeton and I'm at Yale." Steph said.

"I know what you mean. You know that Honor's running HPG now right?" She nodded. "Well, Logan found out a few months ago that when we graduate that Mitchum wants him to move to London and run the European market." I told her. "I have no idea if we'll still be together when that happens. I don't know if I'll go with him or if I'll stay here. Not to mention what I'll do about Law school." I told her.

"Damn, Ror. I'm sorry." She said.

I shrugged. "It is what it is. I haven't mentioned my feelings to anyone…you're the first." I said.

She turned toward me and hugged me. "I'm here for you. Whatever you need." She said.

"Thanks Steph." I said.

Logan POV

The last few months had been hard on Rory. She didn't say anything but I knew that ever since I had mentioned to her what my father's plans for me were that it had been on her mind. I knew that she was stressing about what would happen. I was hoping that when the time came closer that I could convince Rory to go to London with me… I just had to figure out how to do it.

When I stepped off the plane at the Vineyard, I had the car service take me to Rory's parents house. I knew that she would be surprised because she thought that I'd be driving in from Hartford. When the car pulled into the driveway, I stepped out of the car and walked to the trunk to get my bag. I was halfway to the front door when it opened. I saw Rory run out and I couldn't help but smile. I dropped my bag just in time to catch her jumping into my arms. "You're here. I wasn't expecting you until tomorrow at least." She said when I finally set her on the ground.

"I decided to fly straight in. I thought that I'd surprise you." I said. I leaned down and kissed her. "Did I?" I asked her.

She nodded. She reached up and wrapped her arms around my neck. "Absolutely. I missed you." She said.

"I missed you too. It's been a long summer and not enough time with you." I said.

"I totally agree with you on that." She said. "Come on. Steph's inside, Colin should be here soon. Everyone else will be here tomorrow." She said. I picked up my bag and walked into the house with her.

When we walked into the house, I didn't see Steph anywhere. Rory and I walked upstairs to our room. I shut the door behind me when we walked in. "How's things going with Steph?" I asked her.

I walked over to the end of the bed and sat my bag down on the bench that was at the foot. She sat on the side on the bed. "It's going okay. She's worried about how things are going to work between her and James when school starts back." She said.

I could understand that and I know that she did too even if she didn't say anything. "What do you think?" I asked her.

She sighed. "I think that I'm staying out of it." She said.

"Maybe that's the best thing." I walked over to her and put my hands on her shoulders. "Everything is going to work out. You know that right?" I said.

"Are we still talking about Steph and James?" She asked me.

I smirked at her. "Ror, I know that you're worried about London, but you don't have to be. I'm gonna figure it all out." I said.

Rory POV

"You sure about that?" I asked him.

"Of course I am. There's still time." He said.

"I know there is, but I can't help but worry." I said. I didn't want to feel insecure about my relationship but I couldn't help the feelings that I'd been having.

Logan pushed some hair behind my ear. "Tell me what's going on in that pretty little head of yours." He said.

I sighed. "I can't help but think about what's going to happen. Not to mention that I'll be applying for Law school." I said. I didn't want to express all of my feelings but just having Logan back after being apart almost all summer, I knew that everything would be okay. "I'm just feeling a little insecure right now. This summer's been hard without you here." I told him.

Logan sat beside me on the bed. He pulled me into his arms and held me close. "I know, and you know that if I'd had any other choice…that I'd would've been beside you all summer." He said.

"I know babe. I'm just worried." I said.

He rubbed my back. "I know you are. I'm gonna talk to Dad. Tell him that I need to stay local for a while." He said.

"Really?" I asked looking up at him.

"Absolutely. I mean we might have to go some society functions in return…but I'll work it out." He said.

"I love you, you know that?" I said.

He kissed the side of my head. "I love you too." He said.
