Chapter 18
Steph POV
Logan and Rory had gone to London to check out a townhouse that Logan had bought for them. Only Rory didn't know that he'd already bought it. Logan was planning on proposing to her this weekend. I wasn't sure if James had any idea. Logan and James hadn't talked much since the whole Honor debacle. We'd started packing up our apartment because after graduation we were moving to Hartford. James would be working at Gilmore Insurance so that Richard could start preparing him to take over the company. Rory had agreed to let us live in her townhouse at least until she finished law school, however if she and Logan got married, it might be a while before she would returned to the states.
I'd gotten a job at PR firm in Hartford. My mother wasn't too happy about it but I'd told her that I needed to live my life. My mother always found some way to be disappointed in me. And what's worse is when she finds out the secret that I've been keeping she's really going to be disappointed. Rory didn't even know the secret that I'd been keeping. James and I had gotten married a month ago and we hadn't told anyone. Not his friends, not mine. No family. I had a feeling that when Rory did find out that she was never going to talk to me again.
***Flashback***
James and I were laying in bed in our hotel room. "I can't believe that we just did that." I said to him.
James pulled me closer to him. "But you love me." He said.
"Yeah, but what do you think that everyone is going to say when they find out?" I said.
"Honestly, their probably going to think that your pregnant." He said.
"Which I'm not." I told him.
He kissed the side of my head. "Yeah, but would it be a bad thing?" He asked me.
I sat up and looked at him. "Are you serious right now?" I asked him.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" He asked me.
"Because…we haven't graduated and we literally just got married." I said.
"Hey, calm down. It's not a big deal, I'm just saying that it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing if you were." He said.
"J, I can't get pregnant until our families and friends know that we got married." I told him. I was putting my foot down.
He pushed some hair behind my ear. "Okay."
***End of Flashback***
I was determined to tell everyone when Logan and Rory got back from their trip. Maybe I would get lucky and they would get engaged while they were gone and what James and I did wouldn't seem so bad.
Rory POV
I was laying in bed curled into Logan's side. "So…are you happy that I picked Oxford?" I randomly asked him.
He kissed the side of my head. "Absolutely. But I honestly never doubt that you would pick anywhere else." Logan said.
"Really? You never once thought that I'd pick anywhere besides Oxford." I said.
"Nope. Not once." He said.
"Why not?" I asked.
He turned over so that he was facing me. "Because ever since I first told you about London, I could tell that you were freaking out about it. I knew that you had were worried about what was going to happen with us once graduation came and I had to move here." Logan said.
I kissed the tip of his nose. "You know, sometimes it's a little creepy just how well you know me." I said.
"Well, I have known you all our lives." Logan said.
"That is true." I said. I thought for a minute about Logan's proposal. I thought about everyone that he possibly could have talked to before finally deciding to propose this weekend.
Logan pulled me closer to him and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. "What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" He asked me.
"Did you talk to James?" I asked.
"About the proposal?" He asked me and I nodded.
"I did. Briefly. He'd heard from your Dad that I was planning to propose. He cornered me on campus." He said.
"Was he mad?" I asked.
"I think he was more upset that he didn't hear it from me." Logan said. I nodded. "But there's something else."
"What is it?" I asked him.
Logan sighed. "I stopped by the pub the other day to grab a burger and I overheard Steph and James talking. Apparently, they got married a month ago and didn't tell anyone." Logan told me.
I sat up and looked at him. "They got married?" I asked him.
He nodded. "That's what they said."
I took a deep breath. "I'm gonna take a shower." I told him. I got up and walked into the bathroom. I couldn't believe this. I was worried about how James might react to Logan and I getting engaged and here he had gone and gotten married without telling anyone. What the hell was going on?
