Chapter 19

Rory POV

When Logan and I got back from London, I took a drive down to Hartford to my townhouse. I needed to figure out what I wanted to pack up for storage and what I would be shipping to London. When I'd moved in with Logan I had only taken what I needed. Now that I was moving across the ocean I really needed to pack. I was going through my books when my cell rang. I pulled it out of my back pocket and answered it. "Hello." I said.

"Hey kid." Mom said.

"Hey mom."

"What's wrong?" She asked me.

"Nothing." I lied. "I do need a favor though. And it's a big one." I said.

James wanted to keep a secret, I'd fix that. "What's up? You know that I'd do anything for you kid." Mom told me.

"Logan and I have some news that we want to share so we need you to get some people together for us for a dinner." I told her.

"Alright. Who am I inviting?" She asked.

"Well obviously me, Logan, you and Dad, James and Steph, the grandparents, Logan's parents, Honor and Josh, and Steph's parents." I told her.

"Okay…everything okay?" She asked me.

"Everything is perfect. Just let me know when you get it set up for." I told her.

"Sure thing babe." Mom said before she hung up.

After I'd gone through things at the townhouse, I headed back to the apartment. Logan and I were having Colin, Finn, Mads and Louise over for dinner and drinks that night so that we could tell them about the engagement. I knew that they were gonna wonder why Steph and James weren't there and I was full prepared to tell them and then I'd swear them to secrecy…mainly because I had big plans for the two of them.

When I walked into the apartment, Logan was in the kitchen cooking. I walked over to the breakfast bar and sat down. Logan sat a cup of coffee in front of me. "Thanks babe." I said.

"Your welcome. You get things sorted at the townhouse?" He asked me.

I nodded, taking a drink of my coffee. "Yep. All we gotta do is box everything up and label it. Did you find out about the storage unit yet?" I asked him.

"Actually, we're not gonna need one. I talked to Honor today and she told me that we can store everything in her garage. She doesn't use it." Logan said. Logan went back to cooking.

"Cool. Did you tell her about the engagement?" I asked.

"No, I just told her that you were going to Oxford so you were gonna live with me." He said and I nodded.

"I talked to mom. She's going to organize a dinner so that we can tell everyone about the engagement and I can oust James and Steph." I said.

Logan stopped what he was doing and looked at me. "Do you really think that it's a good idea to oust them?" He asked me.

I thought for a minute. "I do. I was worried about how James would react to us getting engaged, then he goes and gets married and doesn't tell anyone? Of course I'm going to oust them. He got mad when I told him that I was considering moving to London with you. Not to mention how mad he got when he found out we were dating. How do you think he's going to react when he finds out that I said yes?" I said, finishing my rant.

He reached across the breakfast bar and touched my hand. "Hey…It's okay. Everything is going to be okay." He told me and I smiled at me.

After we'd all eaten dinner, we were sitting on the rooftop patio with drinks, when I decided now was the perfect time to make my announcement. "So…I have a couple of things that I need to tell you guys." I said, causing everyone to look at me.

"Is everything okay?" Finn asked me.

"Yeah everything is fine. I, umm, I decided about Law school. I'm going to be going to Oxford." I said.

"That's great Ror." Mads said.

"Thanks. Umm, while Logan and I were in London checking out the townhouse that he bought as a surprise," I said looking over at him. "Logan proposed and I said yes." I told them.

"That's great. Congrats, you guys." Colin said.

"Thanks." I said smiling at our friends.

"Hey, where's Steph and James? Shouldn't they be here for this?" Louise asked.

I let out a sigh. "That's the last thing that we have to tell you. And what I'm about to tell you, stays between us because I have plans in motion and they can't find out." I told them and they all nodded. "Apparently, about a month ago, James and Steph got married and didn't tell anyone." I said.

"Seriously?" Colin asked and I saw Logan nod.

"Yeah, I was in the pub the other day grabbing lunch and I heard them talking about it. Fortunately, they didn't see me." Logan said.

"Anyway, I've got my mom planning a dinner and I'm having her invite Steph's parents in addition to mine and Logan's families. I'm going to oust them to everyone." I said.

"Damn girl. You're ready to fight aren't you?" Mads asked me.

"You know me, I'm always looking for a good fight, and I fight dirty." I said.
