Chapter 23

Logan POV

Rory and I had gotten through Christmas and New Year's with minimal drama, thank god. The only major issue that had happened was we'd decided that instead of the traditional rehearsal dinner that we just wanted a dinner with our family and close friends. Of course Mom, Emily and Francine weren't happy about it at all. But luckily Lorelai had been able to help calm them down (for the most part). What was worse though was that a month before the wedding, Rory and I had flown in for the weekend and were having dinner with her parents but when we'd arrived at the house, we'd found Chris and Lorelai in the living room and Lorelai was crying. It was horrible. Lorelai had found out that while she'd been in Hartford trying to help Rory with the wedding plans that he'd been in Boston having an affair and now the girl was pregnant. Chris was upset because he felt that he'd failed his family, Lorelai was heartbroken and Rory was just plain pissed off. Dinner was canceled and I'd taken a pissed off Rory home to get drunk.

When things had settled a little, Rory had decided that she wanted to sell the townhouse and buy something a little different. She said that she wanted to buy a house that we could build a family in. See Rory had kept a secret from everybody that she'd plan to reveal during our wedding reception. There were only two other people beside Rory and myself that knew…my father and Straub. We knew that we'd be moving back to Hartford once Rory graduated Law school so we wanted to go ahead and find a house that way if Rory wanted to do any remodeling it would be done by the time she graduated. After looking at several houses she finally found one that she liked. It had everything that she had on her bucket list. And shockingly the only renovations that needed to be done were to the basement. She wanted to add a game room (for me and the boys) and a theater room (mainly for her and Lorelai).

Finally the morning of the wedding had arrived. Me and the boys were getting ready when I realized that I needed to get Rory her gift. "Col?" I said getting Colin's attention. He walked over to me. "I need a favor." He nodded. "I need you to take this to Rory for me." I told him and handed him the box for Rory. It had taken me weeks to figure out what to get her for a wedding present but then I'd thought about the charm bracelet that I'd gotten her when we graduated from Yale. I suddenly realized that I knew the perfect charm to add to it.

An hour after I'd sent Colin to give for her gift he came back handing me a small box. I looked at him for a minute. "What took so long?" I asked him.

He rubbed his hand over his face. "My own personal hell." He said.

"Louise?" I asked and he nodded.

I nodded before I opened the box. It was a pair of new cuff links. When I looked at them closer, I realized that they had been engraved. Rory had them engraved with our initials. It was something that made me love her even more. It was the little things that she paid attention to.

Before I knew it, the wedding coordinator had walked in to let us know that it was time. I nodded and the boys and I made our way out. When we walked into the ballroom (so to speak), I took in the room. It was the first time that I'd seen it all decorated. I knew that Rory would be pleased with it.

Rory POV

I couldn't believe it. Today was finally the day that Logan and I were getting married. Part of me felt like this day was never gonna come, but I knew that it would. It just felt like with everything that we'd been through with our parents over the last year, that this day would never happen.

I was sitting in what would be considered the bridal suite getting ready with the girls when there was a knock at the door. Louise had gone to answer it. I could see in the mirror that it was Colin. He came over and handed me a small box. "It's from Logan." He said. I nodded.

I opened the box. It was a wedding bell charm to go on my charm bracelet. I smiled at the gift. "Colin, will you take that to Logan for me?" I asked him, pointing to the gift on the table in front of me. He nodded. I watched Colin and Louise step into the hallway to talk.

A little while later, the wedding coordinator comes in and asks if we're ready. I tell her that we are just about ready, that I just need a few minutes with my Dad. She nods. The girls walk out and my Dad comes in. "You look beautiful kiddo." He says.

"Listen Dad, I know that things have been screwed up lately but I really hope that you and Mom are able to work things out." I told him. "I know that I was upset at first but I understand that things happen but Dad you almost destroyed this family and you almost destroyed Mom."

Dad pulled me into a hug. "I know Kid and your mom and I have been talking and we're going to go to counseling and I'm moving back to Hartford." Dad said. "This is where my family is."

"That's good to hear Dad." I said.

"Come on. Let's get you married." Dad said offered his arm.

We walked out of the dressing room and took our place in line behind my bridesmaids and we waited for the music to start. I stood there with Dad and watched my bridesmaids one by one enter the room. When it was Steph's turn she turned back to look at me one last time and smiled and I nodded. She walked through the doors.

When the wedding march started, I looked over at Dad. "You sure about this kiddo? Last chance to run." He said.

"I'm sure Dad. I've never loved anyone more than I love him." I told Dad and he nodded.

The doors opened and we made our way down the aisle. I looked to the end of the aisle and found Logan. His eyes locked with mine and I smiled at him.

When we reached the altar, Dad kissed my cheek and placed my hand in Logan's. "Who gives this woman?" The minister asked.

"Her mother and I." Dad said, before he went to sit next to mom.

"The beauty of marriage is not always seen from the very beginning but rather as love grows and develops." The minister started. "Logan and Rory have invited everyone in this room here today to witness their love as they enter into a contract of marriage. Logan and Rory have written their own vows. Logan, would you like to start."

Logan nodded. "Rory, growing up, you were my best friend's little sister. I was told to always be there for you. People assumed that the reason that I was always there to pick you up and pick up the broken pieces was because I liked you. But it was more than that…I wanted to protect you. Then one day the protection instinct that I had for you turned into like and then one day I woke up and realized that I was in love with you. Rory, every day I wake up and find something new that I love you more for. You are my best friend, my confidant, and my soulmate." Logan said.

By the time he reached the end of his vows I was in tears. "Rory." The minister said.

"That's gonna be tough to follow. Logan, for years you were a friend that I could depend on, you were always there for me…whenever I needed you and you never asked for anything in return. The one day I woke up and I realized that I liked you more than a friend, maybe even loved you. That love turned into more when I realized that I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone else. Every day I wake up and I realize that I am so lucky to have you in my life. Two hearts in love need no words." I said, finishing my vows.

"Thank you Rory. The rings please." The minister said and Colin handed him the rings.

He handed Logan a ring. Logan slid the ring on my finger and it fit perfectly with my engagement ring. "I Logan, take you Rory." He said.

Then the minister handed me a ring. I slid it on Logan's finger. "I Rory, take the Logan." I said.

We looked at the minister. "The rings that you have given each other are a sign of your love and commitment to each other and the vows that you have made here today. By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride." The minister said. Logan leaned in and kissed me.

Logan POV

When the ceremony was over, Rory and I headed outside to take pictures while everyone else headed to the gardens where we would be having the reception.

When pictures were finished Rory and I made our way over to the gardens. "For the first time ever, Mr. and Mrs. Logan Huntzberger." The announcer said.

I walked over to him and he handed me the mic. I walked back to Rory and handed it to her, knowing that she had a few things that she'd wanted to tell everyone today. "Thank you everyone. Logan and I want to thank all of you for being here with us today, it means the world to us." She said. "As many of you know, my paternal grandparents are Straub and Francine who announced that I would be their heiress when I graduated high school. Many of you might also know that Logan and I have been living in London for the last year and half, where he has been working for his family's company." There were a few whispers. "However, Logan and I have decided along with the heads of our families that it is time for Logan and I to move back to Hartford as we are expecting a new addition to our family in December." She announced.

There were cheers throughout the entire group. "So when Logan and I return from our honeymoon, we will be moving into our new home in Hartford." She told them before I took the mic from her.

I handed the mic back to the announcer and Rory and I made our way over to the dance floor just as the music started to play. I pulled Rory close to me and we started to dance. "Have I told you how beautiful you look today?" I asked her.

"Today? No." She said with a smile.

"Well you do. How are you feeling today?" I asked knowing that she'd been having some morning sickness.

"Not bad thank god. I don't know if I would have been able to come up with an excuse if I had been throwing up all day today." She said.

"Well then it's a good thing that we went ahead and made the announcement then." I said.

"I think so too." She said and I leaned down and gently kissed her.
