Third Person's POV
Sasuke and his best friend Naruto stop at a crosswalk to wait for their turn to pass to the other side of the road. They have been talking about nonsense so far while taking a calm walk around the city, but Sasuke knows that Naruto will eventually ask him about his dating life. He had been asking about that for a while now. "Hey Sasuke, have you ever been to that restaurant before?" Naruto points to a brick building that had metal chairs and tables with pine green umbrellas. There are thousands of potted plants all around the tables and by the entrance. The glowing sign said Kelly's. "I'm trying to find a nice place for dinner. I have a date with a girl from work."
"No I have never been. What makes you think that I have been there?"
"Well...I thought maybe you went on a date...oh wait a minute...you haven't been on a date for years!"
"Subtle Naruto. I thought we were past this."
"Come on Sasuke, don't you think it's time to try dating again. You aren't getting any younger."
"There is no one who interests me right now, and even if there was, I doubt she would be interested in me." Naruto gives him an 'Are you stupid look'.
"Sasuke, what about to say may sound weird coming from me, but you are one good looking dude! I haven't met a girl who didn't want you!"
"It's not about that. What I mean is that I may be able to go on a few dates with someone, but as soon as she learns that I am a father, she will leave. No one wants to become a step- parent at the age of 28." This statement made Naruto chuckle.
"I don't know man, maybe there is someone out there who wouldn't mind. Not all girls are like Ino." Saying that name is not a good idea in front of Sasuke.
A/N: Sakura is not the mother of Sarada in this story.
"Shut up Dumbass!" Sasuke shouts. The crosswalk is finally clear for people to walk on. Sasuke takes this chance to speed walk away from Naruto to get away from him. Naruto runs after him trying his best to get his best friend to look at him again.
"Sasuke, I'm sorry. I didn't know that still bothered you." Sasuke says nothing. He only gives him a deadly glare. "Sasuke, I just worry about you sometimes okay? You haven't been the same for the past couple years. I know you are having some money issues and you haven't been able to spend time with Sarada a lot. I just thought maybe if you had someone to talk to and be comforted by, you would feel less stressed!"
Sasuke stops once he gets to the end of the crosswalk and onto the sidewalk. "Sorry," Sasuke almost whispering, but Naruto was able to hear. Naruto grins and doesn't say anything. Nothing else needs to be said. They continue to walk in silence.
After a while Naruto tries to talk to him again."You remember my cousin, Karin? The one you met at my Halloween party? The girl with the red hair and glasses?" This gives Sasuke a painful migraine. He remembers all too well a girl at his party who would constantly try to talk to him. "She knows about you being a father, she even met Sarada there so I don't think she minds. She keeps asking me for your number, it's getting annoying."
"Naruto..."
"Just give her a chance. I'm not saying you have to get married. Just give someone a chance. You never know." Naruto pulls numerous papers and gum wrappers from his pocket. He starts going through them, until he pulls out the pink folded paper and hands it to Sasuke. In the note is Karin's phone number. "I gotta go now. I'm supposed to help my mother with making 15 LASAGNAS! See ya bastard!" Before Sasuke can say anything back Naruto is already walking away.
Sasuke lets out a long sigh and checks the time. 2:44pm. 'Its time to pick up Sarada.'
Sakura turns her body on her bed and feels the sun rays through the curtains landing on her smooth naked skin. Sakura can't stop smiling from the activities she and her boyfriend Gaara had. She can still feel his strong calloused hands running up and down her curves. his hot breath on her neck. His soft lips everywhere. They had been separated for too long. As soon as Sakura got home she found her boyfriend in her bed only in his boxers waiting for her. She didn't question it. She knew that he missed that part of their relationship, and she missed it too.
Gaara was currently showing in her bathroom. Sakura is fighting the urge to join him. He looked a bit different from the last time she saw him. He was taller, and stronger. His hair was shorter than it used to be, and neater. He also gained a couple of bruises on himself from his construction job. He no longer looked like a tired and troubling college student. Now, an adult. An adult she would want to spend the rest of her life with.
The bathroom door opens out Gaara comes out wearing the same clothes he came there with; a dark red v neck shirt and black jeans. his hair is still wet from the shower. "Hey you," says Sakura.
"Hey babe. How are you feeling?" Gaara sits on the edge of the bed and starts to put on his shoes.
"Amazing. You learned some new moves sweetie," Sakura says smirking. This also makes Gaara smirk. "Why are you putting on your shoes?"
"I have to go back now." Gaara finishes tying his shoes as he says that.
"But you just got here. My parents wanted you to have dinner with us. They think you and I broke up since you haven't been here in a while."
Gaara chuckles. "I'm sorry baby. I want to stay but I have to go to work." Sakura moves from under the covers and hugs Gaara from behind.
In a soft and sexy whisper, Sakura says, "Is there anything I can do to make you stay?" Gaara grabs her hand and kisses it.
"That's tempting, but I can't, I'm sorry." Sakura rests her face on his back. She is on the verge of tears. 'I haven't seen you in months and you could only stay for a couple of hours?' But then Sakura gets an idea.
"It's okay sweetie. I suppose you and I will be spending a lot of time together when we get married."
Silence.
A very long silence,
Sakura can't see, but Gaara's face is in complete shock. His eyes look like they are about to pop out of his head. The silence is worse than his face. Sakura is starting to be concerned. "Gaara?" No response. "Gaara?!" He finally wakes from his trance state.
"I have to leave now. I will call you later." Gaara then gets up and leaves without giving her a kiss or even looking at her. He left her. Alone. The sun was no longer shining in her room. Sakura's naked body is no longer warm, and she is not grinning anymore. Instead, her face shows a different feeling. Concern and worry.
