Sakura's POV
Once it becomes 3pm we decide to leave the water park and head to the arcade and laser tag so we can dry off our hair and let the food we ate digest. When we enter the arcade I get chills and freeze. The AC must be on in here, plus it's a bit dark. Most of the light in her is coming from the game counsels. Thanks to my wet hair, my ears and head are the coldest part of me. I took my hair out of the ponytail after eating so it could dry, but it's too cold in here to keep it down. I whip my hair down and collect it at the top of my head. Using the hair tie on my wrist, I put my hair in a messy bun. A few strands fall out of it automatically and land on the back of my neck. A con of having short hair.
We all walked over to the counter where all the prizes were to get our game cards. In order to get a prize, you have to gain enough points on your card by playing the arcade games. As Sasuke talks to the worker, I notice Sarada staring at one of the prizes. It's a big stuffed gray elephant with the biggest black bead eyes. IT'S ADORABLE! "Hey Sarada," I whisper. "Do you want that elephant?"
"What?!" Sarada pouts and turns her head away from me. "No." I smirk.
"I wouldn't blame you for wanting it. It's so cute, I kinda want it too. We should all try to get enough points."
Sarada's head drops. "No, it's okay."
"Why not?"
"I don't want Papa to feel upset if we aren't able to get it."
What does that mean? "Well, okay. If you say so."
After talking to Sarada I feel a presence behind me. I turn and see Sasuke holding three gaming cards, with his wet hair sticking to his head. Without thinking, I take my hands and run them through his hair which pulls it all back and away from his face. I never notice how sharp his face is. I swear he could be a model. "You don't want your ears and face to be cold."
"Oh...um...thanks," he says. Sarada quietly comes out from behind me and grabs one of the cards. I do the same. "What do you want to try first, Sarada?"
We all make our way to the games. "I don't know. Something easy to start with." Sarada then gasps at the site of one of the games. "Let's try the racing game."
Sarada sits on the seat for the game, and starts turning the steering wheel. Sasuke takes Sarada's card and slides it through the scanner. As he bends over to do that, he notices that Sarada can't reach the pedal. "Are you going to be able to push the pedal?" he asks. Sarada tries her best to reach the pedal. She is able to, but only if she stretches her leg and sits on the edge of her seat, and when she does that she can't see the screen.
"Get up for a moment Sarada." Sarada slides off the seat, and then Sasuke sits in it.
"Papa what are you doi-" Before Sarada can finish, he lifts her up from under her arms and places her on his lap.
"You stir, I'll work the pedal." Sarada's face lights up with excitement as the screen starts to play. I can't help but smile at this scene. Sarada is grinning ear to ear, and Sasuke is smiling softly with his hands on her waist to keep her still and pressing on the pedal.
I pull out my phone to capture this memory. I click to the camera and squat down to get a better angle.
"What should we play next?" I ask. The racing game was fun for Sarada, but she didn't get a lot of points. "How about we play..." I search around the room full of colorful lights, and towards the corner, I stop the older games. Could it be there?
"Sakura?"
"Can we check over there?" I point towards the old games hoping that they will agree.
"Let's go," Sasuke says. Yes. Please be there. I can't help but jog over to the arcade games like Sarada has been jogging over to everything all day.
Is it here? I keep searching through all the allies. Please be here. I search in the last alley. Yes! It's here!
I go to the game. I haven't played this one in so long. I slide my game card through and then I can feel a breath near my neck. Along with the breath, I feel a body behind me. "Pac-man?" The deep voice behind me makes my heart jump. When is the last time someone ever made my heart thrill like that?
"Yeah. I love playing this game, but I could never find it anywhere," I say. The screen starts up and the game begins. As I play I can still feel the warm breath on my neck. Making it hard to concentrate. Not only is his breath distracting, but his smell. It isn't a cologne smell, it's more of a body wash smell. Coconut and argan oil.
"Dammit!" I got killed. Okay, let's try this again. Before I start the game again, I turn my head a little so I can see Sasuke in the corner of my eye. I never realized how close we or before. No wonder I can smell his body wash. Wait, why is he so close to me?
Focus, Sakura! You are trying to play Pac-man. Stop focusing on him. I move the knob left, right, up, down, trying to beat this game. Shit, I lost again.
"You suck," Sasuke whispers in a teasing tone, right in my ear. I feel my whole body jump. What the hell was that? Is that a smirk?
I cross my arms and glare at him, which makes him smirk even more. I roll my eyes. "Let's just play a different game," I say.
I leave the area with the older games with Sasuke following me. Probably still smirking. Then, Sasuke finds another game. This one is a shooting game. "Sakura, you want to play? It's built for two players."
I remember when I was young, the arcade near my old house had a lot of games like this one. I can see a victory for me ahead. While grinning, I slid my card through and say, "Suuuurrreee."
Sasuke and I pick up the guns and wait for the countdown to end. Three, two, one, and the game starts.
Third Person's POV
Sasuke and Sakura were neck and neck in the first game, and since they are both stubborn and competitive, they refuse to stop playing until there is a winner. After playing a couple of games on her own, Sarada walks up to the two adults, but neither of them notices her, since they are too concentrated on beating the other. Sweat is dripping down both of their faces. The bun that Sakura's hair was in is no longer a bun and more of hair in a very loose tie that is bound to come out. Sasuke's face is squinting from his concentration, his hair no longer pushed back, and Sarada is standing right beside him looking dumbfounded and confused.
"Papa, the laser tag is going to start soon."
"GIVE US A MINUTE DEAR, I'M ABOUT TO WHOOP SAKURA'S ASS INTO THE NEXT REALM!"
"I'LL NEVER LET YOU WIN! BRING IT ON YOU JERK!"
'I'm starting to feel like the adult now,' Sarada thinks. Sarada gives up on trying to talk to them right now. "I'll save us a spot in laser tag," and with that, she walks away.
When a worker, who has the biggest glass ever shouted that laser tag was about to start, Sasuke and Sakura decide to stop playing that game after playing it for forty-five minutes. In the end, no one won.
Sasuke and Sakura find and meet up with Sarada in the line. "So, who won?"
In a gloomy state, Sakura says, "No one."
Sarada sighs in relief. "At least it's over."
An exhausted Sasuke gives the gaming cards to the worker, as the worker scans the cards, Sasuke questions how can someone wear glasses that big and not have them hurt, or even fall off when they abruptly turn their head. Once the worker gives them the cards back, he signals them to follow him through the door that leads to a dark room where you prepare to enter the arena.
The room is small and cramped with the only light coming from the vest and guns, and the TV. The amount of people in the tiny room doesn't make it any easier to see, and to breath. Sasuke grabs Sarada's arm so he doesn't lose her. As people try to move or attempt to move, Sakura starts to get separated from the father and daughter duo. Sarada, seeing this, leans back to her and holds her hand, but since her hand is so small, her grip isn't strong and doesn't last long when someone bumps her arm.
When she lets go of Sakura's hand, she tries to grab it again, but is unable to reach. It doesn't matter though in the end because Sakura is able to reach Sarada's hand. Sakura grabs Sarada's hand this time, and gets pulled to them.
The worker with the big glasses and another worker with curly red hair hands out the vest and guns. Sasuke, Sakura, and Sarada all get put on the same team; the green team. The other one is blue.
There are certain parts of the vests that glow like the shoulders, chest, and back, and those are the parts where you have to aim to get points. However, if you get hit in those points a certain amount of times, you are unable to shoot anyone else for a short span of time.
"Papa, the vest is too big." Sasuke bends down to her and tightens it, as he does that, the TV starts to play and talk about the arena, the goals, and generic warnings like if you are pregnant or prone to heart attacks, don't participate. At the end of the video, the voice in it says that you will be able to see everyone's points and whoever gets the most on each team, wins a prize. This gives Sakura an idea.
When Sasuke rises back up, Sakura whispers, "I bet I can get more points than you."
Sasuke grins. "It's on."
"Why?" Sarada asks no one.
