Chapter 17: Trouble At The Pier Part 2
While Team Phantom were at the pier, dealing with Youngblood, Jack and Maddie were getting ready to try and hunt ghosts.
"I still don't see why I can't go and find Danny and get his interest back on ghosts..."Jack said stubbornly.
He had been on his way to the Specter Speeder to go find his son and get him out of his "who-cares-about-ghost" phase again before his wife stopped him.
"Now Jack, I already told you that it has to be natural. Besides, Danny is suppose to be on a date with Star. We don't want to ruin their weekend for them..."Maddie said in her usual way.
"How would we ruin it?..."Jack asked in a clueless way.
His wife sighed hard before she looked around the lab.
"Besides, we still have to deal with that Phantom kid and that little knight ghost..."Maddie reminded.
Her husband looked at the blaster in her arms and saw her point.
"Fine..."Jack said, grabbing his own blaster. "But if he comes home and still talks about ghosts like that, I'm having a talk with him..."He said as he went to get the assault vehicle ready.
Maddie shook her head at that before they went back to work.
"I'm sure Danny and Star are having a wonderful time on their date..."The mother thought as she had no idea what was really going on.
At the Pier
The teenagers were not having a wonderful time on their date.
Mostly because Danny is still split in two, his two halves are still arguing with each other and...oh yeah, Youngblood is back and he found them.
"Have at thee!..."Youngblood shouted as he aimed his weapon.
His joust sent an ecto blast at the teenagers. Super Danny saw this and frowned.
"Evil shall not pierce my shield!..."Super Danny shouted as he made a shield to deflect the attack.
The other members of Team Phantom sighed in relief.
"Now... let's take care of this!..." Sam said, pulling out a wrist blaster and placing it on.
"Stand aside! I will handle this!..." Super Danny called out.
"But we can help!..." Sam reasoned but the ghost hero shook his head.
"I fear you will only get in the way! Besides, you're still not in bright primary colors..."He explained.
Sam scowled at that Super Danny flew at Youngblood, who held his shield up and kept taunting him.
"Bite me!..."Youngblood said before blowing a raspberry while Super Danny got around the shield and kicked it away.
"Nah-nah!..."The bratty ghost taunted and the ghost hero narrowed his eyes.
"Why you despicable revenge seeking ruffian! I shall not allow your temper tantrums to disturb my personal outing any longer!..."Super Danny shouted dramatically.
"That's what you think!..."Youngblood quipped as his joust fired like a gun.
Super Danny avoided it while the human members of his team scattered and took cover.
"Take cover!..." Tucker cried of them ran in different directions, save for Fun Danny, who remained by Star's side.
"Why is everyone running away? Youngblood's blasts themselves aren't as fast as they look..."Super Danny called out, while his other half rolled his eyes.
"Uh, we aren't as fast as you, remember?!..." Fun Danny called out.
"Apologies!..." Super Danny called out before turning to his foe. "Your fight is with me!..."He declared.
"Then prepared to be thwarted, loser!..."Youngblood shouted as he came charging at Super Danny, who grabbed the joust and held on as the ghostly foe kept rushing towards him.
Star saw this and got worried. She was eager to do something but Fun Danny got in her way by trying to get her out of harms way.
"I got you, Babe..." Fun Danny said, taking Star's hand.
"But what about other you?..." She asked, not liking this.
"He's got this..." He assured, but really wanted Star safe...and all to himself.
Star wanted to say something, but Fun Danny pulled her away to safety as the ghost fight resumed.
Back to the fight
Super Danny was facing Youngblood again and managed to deflect more of his blasts. The pint-size villain was swinging his joust to make Danny let go of his ghost shield, all the while, he said the following.
"I can't believe you were so eager to make that walking cootie-factory happy that you'd split like a banana peel..." Youngblood said.
"That didn't sound very knightly..." The skeleton muttered.
"Not now... anyway..." Youngblood aimed his joust and fired.
The ghostly hero dodged the attack and grinned triumphantly.
"You must do better than that!..." Super Danny declared triumphantly.
"Okay!..."Youngblood said as he and his minion flew backward before firing.
Super Danny did his best to avoid before flying and swinging a kick at Youngblood.
The small ghost brat was sent away, momentum of the kick causing him to spin in the air uncontrollably before the horse flew in and acting as a landing cushion for him to sit on, though he was facing the wrong way. Shaking his head to get over the dizziness, Youngblood swung around to ride the horse correctly.
"Even with half his power, he's not going down that easily. No fair..." Youngblood pouted.
"No time to complain... perhaps we should stop trying the direct approach?..."His minion suggested.
The small villain soon realized what he was getting it and smirked wickedly.
"Duh! His girlfriend!..." Youngblood shouted, realizing another means of attacking and making Danny drop his guard.
The ghosts then flew around Super Danny and headed in Star's direction.
"Stop!..." Super Danny called out.
"No way, loser!..." Youngblood said, about to attack her from above.
In response, Super Danny fired a blast of his own that, when it collided with Youngblood's attack, caused a small explosion that pushed the two evil ghosts back.
Angered, Youngblood fired again.
"Agh, even if you keeping protecting your friends, my mighty steed and I still out number you, ghost hero wannabe!..." The small villain mocked
"Then I guess we better even the odds..." Tucker called out as he pulled out one of the anti-ghost weapons.
He pulled out the Jack o' Nine Tails as a whip against the skeleton ghost horse, while Sam uses her ghost wrist blaster to open fire.
"Take this!..." Sam shouted as she fired on the annoying little ghost twerp.
Her blasts hit Youngblood's shield while Tucker managed to land some hits on the skeleton horse, much to the annoyance of the kid knight ghost and his steed.
''Hey! Watch it!..." Youngblood shouted, not liking this.
As the bratty ghost was trying to get away from the two uninvited playmates, he noticed that a few of the others were missing from this battle.
He frowned.
"Hey wait, where'd human Phantom go?..." Youngblood asked out loud, but was interrupted by another person.
It was Jazz, who due to not bringing her own weapon by mistake, decided to use a little psychology here.
"Ya know, I get the feeling you'd be less unhappy if your parents bothered to spend any time with you than just leaving you with Bones over there..." Jazz analyzed, getting the little ghost's attention.
"Uh..." Youngblood went.
"I bet you'd actually have some friends and not be alone if you weren't so bratty either..." Jazz reasoned.
"I totally have friends!..."Youngblood said but Jazz didn't buy it.
"I theorize that really, you just don't know how to be nice and make friends..." Jazz reasoned.
"I-we-y-you... SHUT UP!..." Youngblood snapped.
Youngblood then aimed his joust, but was hit in the back of the head by a blast from Sam's wrist blaster, causing the helmet's visor to close and cover his eyes. The sudden push from the back of his head made him drop his joust as a reaction.
His skeleton companion groaned.
"This theme is still better than when he considered being a ninja..." He grumbled.
Youngblood opened the visor and looked around.
"Who did that?!..."He demanded.
"Right here!..." Sam called out, firing again.
As Youngblood was distracted, that left Super Danny an opportunity to attack, but Jazz had another idea as she knew what this brat wanted due to hearing him and his minion earlier.
"Danny! Go protect Star and... the other Danny!..." Jazz called out.
"You're asking a gallant hero to shield a damsel in distress? Sounds prefect for Danny Phantom!..."Super Danny declared as he went to do just that.
All the while, Youngblood was getting so seemingly angry that he looked like he was about to snap.
"No fair, you're all cheating!..."The child villain shouted as he started throwing a tantrum and firing more blasts.
Meanwhile
During the ghost fight, Fun Danny was pulling Star away from the battlefield, much to her annoyance.
"Danny, stop right now! We have to go back and help everyone!..."Star said, annoyed as she didn't want to leave the others to deal with the ghosts.
"But babe, I gotta keep you safe first..."Fun Danny whined.
Star knew that he was just being overprotective of her and wanted to argue against it but that is when Super Danny arrived to protect her too.
"There you are..." The ghostly hero said.
Fun Danny was a bit annoyed of his ghost half's sudden appearance, while Star felt a little concerned.
"Super Danny, what now?..." Star asked, wondering what else has happened.
Super Danny gave a quick run down of what had happened during the fight with Youngblood and his horse guardian, getting shocked reactions from both teen but for different reasons, especially when he declared the following statement.
"That is why I have come here, for I shall defend this young lady from terror!..." Super Danny declared heroically as he quickly grabbed Star by the hand.
"Uh..."Star began but was cut off by the other half of her boyfriend who got mad.
"Nuh-uh!..." Fun Danny pushed him aside. "I'll do it!..."He said as he took Star's other hand.
Super Danny frowned hard and refused to let go of Star's other hand.
"Don't be a fool! You have no powers, not even a weapon at your side! I shall do it!..."The ghost hero announced.
"No! Me!..."Fun Danny said, still holding Star's other hand.
"No... me!..."Super Danny said as he held the other hand tighter.
"ME!..."Fun Danny yelled, getting jealous and competitive again.
"ME!..."Super Danny yelled back, just as jealous and competitive.
"ME!..."
"M-..."
"STOP IT!..." Star shouted, breaking away from them and getting their attention.
Both Dannys stopped, staring slack-jawed at her glaring at them.
One tried to speak up, but Star cut him off before he could. Her anger and frustration from these last few days reached it's peak and she can't keep quiet anymore.
"Enough of this! I had it! I thought having two of you would be great but... it's not! Is this really what you both want?! To fight with each other in your attempts to impress me?! Well, no more! I want Danny back... the REAL Danny! The one who is the whole set and not just one half that's been exaggerated to insane, almost cartoonish levels!..." She shouted at them.
Fun Danny and Super Danny were stunned...and even at a loss upon hearing this.
"But... but we did this for you, Babe..."Fun Danny tried, looking a little ashamed of what he'd been doing.
"Indeed. We had assumed you wanted a ghost free weekend..."Super Danny said, feeling as though he had failed to give his beloved the Date-a-tron weekend she deserves.
Star heard this and sighed. She knew that they had good intentions and cared for her but this was not what she wanted. She didn't want two halves of the boy she loved fighting over her...not anymore.
"I did... but not like this! You can't be with me or stop Youngblood if you're literally torn apart. Please, I just want you whole again. But for now, I need you two to stop fighting and work together..." Star said.
The two Danny's shared a look that, for once, wasn't competitive. It was realization they've done wrong, and knowing what must be done.
They nodded and looked to Star.
"We're open to suggestions..." They said in unison.
Star smiled.
"Good...because I think I have a plan that just might get rid of this pest and save the day..."Star said as she told them her idea.
One thing is for sure, things were about to get a whole lot more exciting.
