'here's my three weeks for retirement,' sergio placed a letter on sengoku's desk.
the fleet admiral looked up from his pile of paperwork to address the vice admiral.
'this is unexpected, why the sudden retirement.'
sergio crossed his arms, 'ive been doing this job far longer than anyone here.'
sengoku did not argue, the man was a captain when he had joined the marines as a young man. his youthful appearance despite the years was a great mystery that no one could figure out.
'yes but in those years, you've never once mentioned retiring. so why the sudden change of heart.'
sergio gazed at the 'reigning justice' mural that covered the wall behind the man, 'rose asked a favor of me.'
sengoku hummed, 'and you will go.'
'an old man's worries. rose doesn't ask much.'
sengoku went back to looking over budgets, 'and i suppose I'll be looking at a black flag in three weeks.'
'you'll be a grandfather,' sergio laughed.
sengoku sighed, 'just let me know which base i should be inspecting, once you've seen to what needs to be done.'
sergio left the room and turned back to face the door.
'rosinante. minion island. please.'
the sound of a dial did not ring. the door had not changed.
'corazon. minion island. please.'
a dial dinged and the door morphed.
he stepped through and found himself face to face with a group of pirates. none of which wore eccentric clothing.
sergio cracked his knuckles and smiled as the crew realized who he was.
just a little longer til he saw his grandson.
