AN: I don't own MHA

I like you

"Then I was like bam. Then it was a boom. Then a woosh. And I saved the day looking awesome," Shuichi proudly proclaimed as he stepped on top of the couch armrest. A towel wrapped around his neck behind him like a cape. He had a heroic adventure that night. His mother was kidnapped by a hideous villain. No one could save her. Except for him. He raced to the rescue and defeated the villain all by himself. It was amazing so he had to tell his new best friend about it.

Izuku was on the wooden floor of his living room while gazing up at his friend in awe. Excitedly he clapped, "that's so cool, Shuichi."

Dreams are funny things. Anything can happen. Your deepest desires coming true for a night. Fantastical adventures on far off lands. Or finally getting that cookie you been craving.

"I had a cool dream too." The child lifted up his favourite plushie high in the air. Mimicking his own adventure. He was flying through sky. Feeling the wind rushing through his locks while weird looking ropes kept him from falling. It was so much fun running along with buildings. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop. He jumped so high his view was obstructed by clouds. It was so freeing. "Then I ended the day punching a rock"

Confused, Shuichi stared at his friend. "Why were you punching a rock?"

"No clue." Dreams are weird like that. "Maybe I was looking for treasure. I read rare crystals can be found in rocks. Under the right conditions."

"Really? That's so cool."

Happily, the parents watched their children play. After many tears and repeated bowing, the parents managed to set up a schedule. The fact that they were both home-schooled made it easier for them to visit regularly. Bonus, Izuku could help with Shuichi schoolwork. Although, Arata was a bit of a problem. Not that he minded having an extra body in his usual lessons. The problem was Izuku's studies were so far ahead that Shuichi had no idea what was happening. He cried since he couldn't follow along. That aside, the boys grew closer each time.

"I'm so happy Shuichi found a friend." Kana cooed while watching the boys adorably play with each other. Laughing and running around the couch, pretending it was a building they were flying around. Her eyes then glanced at the man beside her. Once again, she bowed her head deeply, "I'm so sorry."

Rolling his eyes, Enji sighed. This was the hundredth time the woman apologised to him. While he appreciated the sentiment it was getting old. Pretty much every visit the woman would look at him as if she's begging for forgiveness. "How's your husband," he redirected the conversation.

Thankfully, the woman was quick to catch on and followed. She clapped her claws together "Doing much better. They say he'll be out by the end of the week." It was good news for her and Shuichi. Since it was just her managing all their bills and all it would be great to have her husband back. Even if he might not be able to do much. She would still love him to be around.

Enji was happy for her and overall didn't mind her company. Has a hero his schedule was very demanding. Usually, he would drop Izuku off at their apartment or let them have run of his house when Arata was available. Which was great since he didn't trust that man in his kitchen. At least he knew someone competent could feed his son. When he did have some time, they'd sit and have tea. It was oddly domestic compared to hectic hero work.

He learned a lot about her and her son. Being the only mutant family in the area they received both scorn and pity. She'd held her head up higher when her husband was with her. Apparently, the man was human. Which contributed to Shuichi's human attributes inherited from his father. Kana wished he inherited more. From first-hand experience, growing up as a mutant was hard. She was lucky to not be alone. Her son not so much. Which was more of a reason why she was thankful he found Izuku. Well, Izuku more so found them but still. It was a relief for her with the amount of stress piling up in her life. Her day job barely helped to put food on the table, trying to save her business from the ashes and taking care of her precious boy. Now life seemed to finally be going on an upswing.

Bang!

The sudden noise took all their attention. Then stomping. It was a heavy stooped and fast pace one too. Like running. Then coming into view of the open living room door was Touya looking crushed and soaked. His white hair strands dripped with a coloured liquid and his shirt was stained with the same substance.

"Touya?" Enji called concerned. He wasn't blind. All he knew was that his son went out on another date. They've been on quite a few with that same girl. His son seemed relatively happy throughout it, so he can't even begin to imagine what happened to end up like this.

Touya glanced at the unexpected crowd. His eyes blood-shot and watery. He girted his teeth and clicked his tongue as he turned away. Then he ran. Only worrying his family more.

It wasn't long when Izuku and Enji hunted the boy down to their room. They could hear distress whimperer on the other side as well as stomps and crashes. As if objects were being thrown across the room. They had to knock.

"Go away!" Touya screamed at the door. That did very little to stop his family.

"Touya, we're coming in," Enji yelled back with his hand at the door. Luckily, the door was left unlocked. They must have been in such a rush if they forgot to lock it. He made his youngest stand behind him for their safety. Yet their little head you still peer through the gaps. There stood Touya, arms set ablaze. Even his eyes burned. Parts of the walls and floors were scorched. School books scattered and along with ash remains of a shirt. "What happened?"

"I don't want to talk about it," Touya screamed louder. Letting his fire burn hotter. It dried the air and shot a scorching heatwave around him.

Protectively, Enji pushed his youngest son back, but it was all for not. With eyes lit with determination, Izuku clawed under his father's legs and dashed towards his brother. Fearlessly he charged with arms opened wide. It was enough to break his brother out of their angered trance. The second they saw his brother running, Touya immediately turned off his flames. Panic settled in them but that was turned away when Izuku held them tightly. "We're not leaving," he cried rubbing his face into his brother's mild drift.

It was the straw that brought Touya down, making him explode into tears. He engulfed his brother in a hug while wailing his heartache away. His father soon dashed in and placed both boys in his embrace as they wailed together.

Eventually, Touya explained what happened. It all started when this girl in his class randomly asked them out. Her confession was so cheesy heartfelt that he couldn't help but accept. Despite the disapproval of his friends. They didn't feel good vibes from the girl and tried to warn him, but he ignored them. Assuming they were just jealous that he got a girlfriend first. He should have listened to them.

Everything was fine at first. Went on a couple of dates. Exchanged some sweet nothings. Held hands. Your usual first boyfriend/ girlfriend stuff. The first red flag was when she politely asked for help with a homework project. It seemed innocent enough. He helped his siblings all the time, so he thought it was no different. Until it occurred to him, he basically did the whole thing for her. It wasn't completely obvious. She would whine, then he would show her how it's done, she would praise him and then he'd finished it for her. This became a trend. The next was when they were out, they would conveniently find themselves in a high-end shopping district. The day would end with him carrying her shopping. All while he filled the bill. As a native boyfriend, he thought this was normal. Today was the final nail in the coffin when he realised how hard he got played.

It was a unique date since he was out with her friend group. They were meeting for lunch, and he offered to pay. When he came back with all their orders. That was when he overheard a conversation.

"So how long are you going to let this prank play out, Takeyama."

"Uhhh…maybe another week. I really want that new purse that's coming out this season."

"Jeez, girl. Don't you think you're running the poor boy dry?"

"He's the son of a top-ranked hero. I'm sure I can't dent his wallet too much."

"Have you kissed him yet?"

"God no. I can barely hold his crusty hands with a straight face. Imagine trying to kiss that ugly mug."

It was at that moment Touya imploded in a fire. It was all a blank. Harsh words were exchanged. Some pushes and pulls. A food fights. Fire. Then the dunking of soft drinks. He then left completely humiliated.

"What a meanie!" Izuku huffed holding his brother tighter. "She doesn't deserve you."

His father one on the other hand was doing his best to control his females. The features on his face gave his anger away. "Full name please," he was sure he could do something. He had some influence left. It might be a little underhanded, but he couldn't let this go so easily.

"Nah it's fine. My fault for falling for a stupid prank." Touya said with a sniffle. "Besides, I burned her homework and that stupid bag I bought her," he hissed darkly. He couldn't hold back the fire rage that burned in his eyes. Honestly, he should have burned more. Like her stupid blonde hair.

Knock, Knock, knock.

The Todoroki turned to the door and saw a familiar pale face pop through. "Humm...this a bad time?" there at the door crack stood Tenko. Shyly gripping at the edge of the door. He waved at the Todoroki family who acknowledge him in return by welcoming him inside. So, he stood awkwardly by the door.

Seeing the child's pressing expression and fidgety hands, Enji took that as a hint that they wanted a private talk with his son. Knowing of his son distress, he thought it might be good to have a good talk with a friend. Maybe they could help them feel a little better. He excused himself by asking if Touya wanted anything to eat. Their response was anything but burgers. Then Enji left the children by saying to call if they needed anything.

That left one body. "Izuku, don't want to be rude but I need to talk about big boy stuff with Touya," Tenko coxed. Laying more of a hint that he wanted a private talk.

"I'm a big boy!" the green child yelled back completely ignoring the hint. It only made him latch on to his brother tighter. Firmly, placing his face in their semi-sticky chest showcasing his will stay. "I'm not leaving when brother's sad."

Touya was touched. He matched his little brother with an equally tight hug. "At least you love me, bro."

Pouting, Tenko glared at the brothers' sweet moment. It would be mean to ruin it, but he really wanted that talk. An idea soon came to mind that could convince the little green child to let go. "You know that nice lizard lady let me it. There was a smaller lizard too. He didn't look too good. I think he was crying."

Instantly, Izuku's wilful eyes cracked. He found himself in a very tight predicament. On the one hand, his brother is sad, and he loves his brother. He didn't want to leave them when they're sad. On the other hand, his new best friend was sad. He didn't want them to be sad either. The child was completely torn. His sad bother. Or sad friend. In a panic, he let up a series of mumbling whimpers as he tried to rationalise what to do.

Despite his brother mumbling a mile a minute, Touya could somewhat make out their little crises. It was sweet to know his brother loved him so much, but he didn't want them to ruin their newfound friendship. So, he encouraged his little brother to go see how their friend was doing. With one final hug, Izuku dashed out.

"Shuichi, don't cry!"

Now that it was just the two older boys, Tenko slowly closed the door. He then awkwardly stepped closer to Touya. He didn't have a condescending look like what the other boy expected. It was much worst. Pity with the hint of nervousness. It was clear they already knew what happened. The news must have been shared like a wildfire if even Tenko found out. "I hate to say I told you so…"

"But you're going to say it anyway," Touya sighed while completing the overly used phrase.

"No," Tenko denied. "I'm going to let this recording of Kai do it for me." Then he fished out his phone and quickly found the recording. Kai would have come here himself. Partly, to laugh at the other's misery, but he was busy at his family's café. They still wanted to mock the boy a little, so they did the next best thing:

"Told you so. Also, you owe me 700 yen for the cookies. Plus interest," the phone recording stated.

To add a little sweetness to that injury, Tenko handed the box of cookies Kai gave him. It was a sturdy packaging with a build in handle for portable use. Their family symbol proudly posted at the side. The sweet smell of freshly baked delights hovered the gaps. Touya would be happy to receive it. If it wasn't for the paying with interest part. "…Thanks."

Carefully, Tenko sat down next to the boy. Not completely sure what to do but did want to say something. "Did you really like her?" he asked. The boy looked completely defeated. Almost like the whole world crashed on top of him. The cruel deception seemed to have it him hard.

"No." Touya surprisingly admitted with ease. "I guess I got excited," he didn't expect to be asked out so suddenly. By such a pretty girl too. While he didn't have any genuine feelings for her, he was still really happy. All through the first weeks of school, he got nothing but backtalk. His family, his scars, none of them would shut up about it. He thought that this was a breakthrough. That there was someone out there that wholeheartedly liked him despite his scars and family history. For that, he was happy and was more than willing to try the relationship out. Maybe even falling in love along the way. "I'm dreaming. No one would like a scar face freak whose dad's the number 1 worst hero."

"Your dad's a great hero," Tenko argued honestly. Then the words started to clog up in his throat. His heart rate suddenly spiked and his gloved hand felt extra calmy. He was sweating. His face grew red as his mouth hung half-open. The words were hard to say but eventually, he grew brave enough to say it: "And… I like you."

Oblivious to the true meaning of those words, Touya patted the boy's back with a grin. "I like you too Tenko. You're a great friend."

That phrase snaped something within the red-eye child. Maybe he was watching too many Romantic comedies with Arata, but he never liked that pinning friend trope. It was annoying how they would pine and wait in the background for their turn in the romance. He wasn't the patient type. He'd be patient for so long. Waiting for a hero to rescue him. He wasn't going to let that hero slip away.

"That's not what I mean," he snapped back confusing his friend. Perhaps it was the adrenaline talking, but it was too late to hold back. "I like you like you," he proclaimed while yelling in the boy's face.

Touya was stunned. Nothing but pure confusion blanketing their eyes. As if his brain couldn't follow what was happening to him.

It was instant regret on Tenko part. "Sorry. I made things weird." He tried to flee but Touya grabbed him preventing his escape.

Then the boy said the stupidest thing his still processing mind came up with, "You're gay?"

"I don't know! Kind of. Have you seen my dads!" Tenko screamed. He then went on a ramble about how he thought both his new dads were attractive in their own ways. I mean look at them. One of them had muscles of days and a smile that can make anyone swoon. The other was more ruggedly attractive with cool eyes that you'd be mesmerised by. Heck, he thought Kai was a little cute. Even if he was a jerk half the time. Maybe it was because he was surrounded by good men in his new life, but he couldn't help but like them. Easily one his age that saved him from that rotten alleyway. "Look I made things weird. I'm sorry. Can we just forget this ever happen?"

That wasn't going to happen. Not when Touya's brain finally comprehended the situation. All he needs to do was figure out what to do next. He stared intently at his friend's face. It grew reader the closer they got. They had such fine details. A heart-shaped face. Fair blue-grey locks. Ruby red eyes. Sure, they were surrounded by dried-out skin but that was fading. Honestly. "You're cute."

It took a while for the sudden compliment to register in Tenko's mind. Mostly since his heartbeat drowned in his eardrums. He had to look away. If he gazed at the face any longer his heart might be swooned by the obvious joke. "And now you're messing with me."

"No seriously your cute," Touya repeated. Any sign of heartache was stiped from his face. Replaced by a smile. Then he suggested the unthinkable. "You know what. Let's date."

"Huh?"

" I still got these tickets for the movies this Saturday. You like horror, right?"

"Yeah?"

"Then go out with me," Touya explained as if it was the simplest thing in the world.

It really wasn't. Not for Tenko. The poor boy's brain was spinning. One side was cheering for the opportunity to date his first crush. The other side felt a little on guard. It's not like he was saying he felt the same way. With the recent break up it felt more like he might be a replacement. That side won out as rationale trumped his fleeing happiness. "It's not nice messing with people's feelings like that," he spat.

"I'm not messing." Touya insisted. "Going out with you would be 10 times more fun than that big head. Plus, you're cute."

"Stop saying that!" Tenko yelled. His rage growing. "This joke's going too far."

"I'm not joking." The sternness in Touya's made the other boy's heart jump. So did his eyes. They burned with the type of sincerity that made the other boy's throat go dry. The boys soon found themselves moving. Tenko went backwards until his back hit a walk. Touya followed closely. Never leaving his eyes on the other. "I'll be real with you. I don't know if I can say I feel the same way. But I don't hate it," he admitted as he cornered the other boy, caging him with his arms. One snaked their way to ther chin. Perking their face up to meet his gaze. "It doesn't have to be serious right away. We can just try it out."

The offer made Tenko gulp. The position he found himself in didn't help either. Being cornered like this. Looking up at his crush, he realised how small and lanky he was in compassion. He really needed to work out more. The thing that got his heart racing the most was their eyes. The sincerity they held. He wasn't so sure what to make of it. But an answer was at the tip of his tongue. If only he could just say it.

Slam!

"Tenko, you big lair! Shuichi wasn't crying!" Izuku came back with a vengeance. His cheeks puffed out to the max. He didn't appreciate being lied to. Then he noticed his brother and Tenko were up against the wall. Inches way from each other's faces. "What are you doing?" He asked innocently. He didn't get an answer. Only their stares. Well, Tenko had a completely different expression. He was beet red mumbling something to himself. Confused Izuku looked between the two boys and asked one little question. "Is this big boy stuff?"

AN: well…for those of you who hate this ship I apologies. For those who like this ship I also apologies.

Guest – I have to agree. It's hard to imagine Touya with natural white hair and scars.
