Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Jimmy Jab Games.

"Today is dragging so much" Rosa complained as she pushed Jake into the evidence room

"I know! I've been wanting to kiss you since the briefing" Jake said, as he kissed her. It had been over a month since they had gone on their New Jersey date, and every day since, was like that night. The passion which they had lost over the whole Amy situation had returned, and they were back to the point where they could barely keep their hands off one another. They were acting like young lovers, restless and didn't care for the rules. They had gone out at least twice a week, never to places where everyone knew them, but they had stayed in New York a few times.

"I want you" Jake said, trailing his lips over and down her neck, his hands just about to pull off her top, when the door opened and they flew apart as Charles walked in, and stopped dead at the sight before him

"Am I... did I interrupt something?" He asked. Luckily, both Jake and Rosa were incredibly skilled in thinking on the spot

"Getting a bit ahead of yourself" Rosa said with a smirk

"Really Charles?" Jake asked "I can't even have a conversation with my friend without assuming that there's something going on. Why is it you think that about ever girl I talk to?" Jake asked

"It's just... I thought..." Charles said when Rosa stepped forward

"Well maybe you shouldn't jump to conclusions" she said menacingly

"You're... Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry" Charles said "I just wanted to say that Captains aid emergency briefing. 5 minutes" Charles said walking out

"Close one" Jake said

"It was" He replied

"I have a plan. Come on" He said. She nodded and started walking out, making sure to brush her fingers against his member as she walked past

"Not cool!" Jake yelled to her as his member now returned to its semi-hard state as she walked out.

"Squad" Holt addressed the room "The Serbian President is travelling from Washington to New York tomorrow morning. The Nine-Nine has been put on Motorcade Duty" Holt said as the room groaned

"Jeffords and I will be there, but have to leave mid-morning to One Police Plaza to attend a meeting. In our absence, Peralta will lead the Motorcade" Holt said

"WHAT!" Amy complained. Rosa felt a stab of price as Jake was asked to lead/. Plus, Rosa who hid it well, but still held resentment against Amy was pleased more when Jake got chosen above her.

"I'm sorry Santiago, but you have too many open cases right now" Holt said

"Besides, Peralta has been on a course for this very scenario" Terry interjected

"I want everyone here at 8am Sharp. FULL tactical gear. Now. Your shift is over in twenty minutes. I expect everyone her on time tomorrow. Am I clear?" Holt asked

"Yes Sir" Jake replied

"Dismissed" Holt finished.

The squad left at the end of their shift. Rosa and Jake arriving back at hers

"Urgh! Motorcade duty?" Jake asked

"You get to lead it though" Rosa said

"True" Jake replied

"It's so hot when you're chosen to lead" She whispered seductively into his ear

"Come here" He growled, pulling her into him, and kissing her. Now free to roam his hands around her body, free from Charles' interruption, he did. And wasted no time in pulling off her clothes, tossing them to the floor beside him.

He knelt to his knees and tasted how wet she was.

"Jesus Rosa! I'm going to need a straw you're so wet!" He said. She laughed, but it quickly turned into a moan when he dove in, and started tasting every drop of her arousal. His fingers and tongue worked as a wonderous duo. Complimenting one another perfectly, as he made her throw her head against the wall, and cry his name with every breath.

She soon found her release, and Jake wasted no time in positioning himself at her entrance. She had not realised that he was naked. He entered her in blissful pleasure and thrusted her in a rhythm, wrote by the gods of pleasure, which they both soon became lost in.

After they had come down from their high, they lay in bed, entwined with one another.

"Sorry we nearly got caught today" Rosa said

"It was kind of hot" He said

"Can you imagine Holt's face if he ever found out?" Rosa asked

"Can you imagine Charles'. If he finds out that his best friend has been sleeping with the woman he was in love with for years. That would be our friendship over" Jake said. Rosa noted undertones of sadness in his voice. She sighed, and tried to push the hurt away. Just another reason why she was living a fantasy.

"That would be something" She said, their hands were entwined, and she didn't realise but she was stroking her thumb against his hand.

"I'm not going to give you up Rosa" He said seriously to her "I have a plan" He said

"What's that?" She asked

"We're going to create a cover." he said. That playful, mischievous tone of his voice that only made her smile

"Go on. I'm intrigued" She said

"Well. How about, in front of Charles, I ask you for your friend Katies' number" Jake asked. Rosa looked up at him. Jake had met Katie on numerous occasions. She was one of Rosa's closest friends, and despite never being told the truth about Jake and Rosa, only Jake and Rosa knew the truth, she had her suspicions.

"Katie? Why? She's more closed off than I am" Rosa said

"I know. But it's a cover. I make a big deal about wanting Katie's number, shows that we're friends, and that I'm over Amy" Jake said

"But you're not over Amy" Rosa said

"I am" Jake promised, kissing her cheek.

"Ok." Rosa said after a moments thought

"Great! Charles gets a coffee every morning, so I'll make up some excuse to talk to him, you walk past and I ask you, in front of him" Jake said

"Sounds good" Rosa said, as Jake rolled her over and kissed her again.

-The Next Day-

Jake and Rosa got up, and dressed, into their tactical gear

"Reminds me of the Academy" Rosa said checking out Jake's physique in the get up

"That bring back so many memories" Jake said with a wink.

They arrived at work, and the plan worked perfectly. Jake and Rosa stood outside the kitchen, watching Charles inside.

"Urgh!" Jake greeted as he walked into the kitchen "Motorcade duty. So boring" Jake added "I would honesty rather sit around and have you talk about the right way to make Paella" Jake finished

"There's more than one right way to make Paella Jake. There are ten right way. You have classic Valencian, Modern-" When Jake cut him off

"No. Wait. Stop. I changed my mind. I've made a horrible mistake" Jake said as Rosa walked in. Plan A-go.

"Hey Rosa. Just who I was looking for. Quick question. Can I have your friend Katie's phone number? I wanna ask her out" Jake said

"No. I don't mix personal and professional. You're never getting her number" Rosa said, noting that Charles was watching. Nice throw in on the not mixing personal and professional- Jale thought.

"Never, like we're never going to have a black president never? Because that happened" Jake said

"A real never" Rosa finished, leaning in closer and taking her sultry tone. Unable to hold herself back "Like if you ever ask me about it again, you'll never be able to eat without a straw" She whispered. Jake felt a twitch in his cock at her words. Remembering the conversation from last night.

"Yeah, Ok. Well" Jake said, unable to come up with a response. She walked away, winking when Charles wasn't looking

"You are on the wrong side of history my friend" Jake shouted, emphasising 'my friend'

Jake started talking to Charles, when he brought up Amt. Of course.

"Briefing will be at 09:15 this morning" Terry called.

-09:15am-

"Listen up" Holt called to the room. "There's been an issue with the motorcade. The Serbian President is delayed in Washington. And we can't start locking down intersections until he takes off" Holt said

"Apparently he's on an important call with the Albian president" Terry added. Amy spoke up some name wuestion and was burned by Gina. Neither Jake or Rosa paid any attention to it though.

"There is a three hour delay minimum. Captain Holt and I will have to leave for our meeting at One Police Plaza. You should all stay prepped and ready" Terry said

"Dismissed" Holt finished, and Jake watched until Holt and Terry had walked out, encouraging them all to stay sat. Once out of the room, Jake piped up.

"Guys, guys, guys. three hour delay with no Holt or Terry? Do you know what this means?" Jake asked

"Makeovers?" Charles asked, they gave him a weird look

"No. The Jimmy Jab games!" Jake said and his reply was met by an abundance of cheers

"The First Jimmy Jabs were held in 2008, then the King or Iraq-" Jake said

"President of Iran" Rosa corrected

"Armen Jimmy Jab" Jake continued

"Ahmadinejad" Rosa finished, biting back a smile. Fighting like a real couple

"Came to New York and we were on call for nine glorious hours in case there were protests. On that day a young genius named Jake Peralta, used the last piece of his Bagel to create the first Jimmy Jab event. The Monster mouth bagel toss" Jake said. They all thought back on the memories fondly

"And the rest was history. As soon as Holt and Terry leave, we will commence with Jimmy Jab 7. Circus of Fools!" Jake said before starting the chant of Jimmy Jab.

They walked back into the bullpen, and decided to finish going over their current cases until Holt and Terry left. Jake noticed that Charles was sitting at his desk, so he walked up to Rosa. A proposition playing in his mind

"So. Jimmy Jabs, huh?" Jake asked as Rosa smiled "What do you say we make it interesting this year?" Jake asked "Aha, we could play for Katie's number" Jake said

"No" Rosa replied. "Is this why you wanted to do Jimmy Jabs?" Rosa asked

"No. Yes why. What gave it away?" He asked

"You said 'aha' and snapped your fingers" She finished, trying to be pissed off, but impressed with such an elaborate, fun and believable way as to how to convince Charles of his plan.

"Oh. You wanna go out with Rosa's friend Katie? That's great she's cool" Amy chimed in

"I know but Rosa has this dumb rule about not mixing work with personal stuff" Jake said, further exaggerating the point of Rosa not mixing personal and work. Which Amy seemed to buy, as she replied with a story of when she gave her aunt a jaywalking ticket.

"So it's settled. If I win the Jimmy Jabs you give me her number, and If I lose you don't have to give it to me" Jake said

"I already don't have to give it to you" Rosa said

"alright. I'll give you $200 and I'll never ask you for another phone number again" Jake said

"Done" She said shaking his hand.

"We're off" Terry said a bit later on "You'll get word later on when the Serbian President is wheels up" He said, as he and Holt walked off.

"You got it Sarge. We'll just be here until you get back. Calmly and respectfully prepping" He said, as the doors closed "Alright, they're gone. Ceremonial bagel" Jake said as Charles threw it to him. Rosa had to compliment his catch.

"Flask" He said as Hitchcock handed it to him "Flame" He said as Scully came out singing, and he lit the bagel, throwing it into the trash. They burst into celebration.

"Let the games begin!" Jake called. They made their way into the break room, for the first challenge

"Welcome. To the Jimmy Jabs. We play for pride; we play for the phone numbers of Rosa's friends. But most importantly, we play to watch Amy lose" Jake said. Rosa raised an eyebrow, that sounded an awful lot like flirting, for someone who was convinced he was over her. Jake then went on to introduce the chair as the prize, passing it to Gina who introduced the games rules, and the first game. The mouthathon.

Charles backed out almost immediately. Rosa stopped as soon as she could. Scully and Charles were eliminated, when Gina introduced the second game. Bulky, bulky, run, run.

Once in the kits, Jake walked up to Rosa.

"Sure hope I don't sprain my arm during the race. Because I'm going to opening a lot of doors for Katie on our date" Jake said, Rosa knew his tone, and she knew eh meant something else he did with his hands which she loved so much. "Oh yeah. I'm going to be a gentleman" He boasted

"What are you doing Jake?" Rosa asked, pretending to not be turned on by his words, and what they meant to just the two of them.

"Trash talking you, whilst simultaneously proving I will be respectful to your friend" Jake said "It's a tough line to walk" He added. Rosa smiled quickly at him. He started wiggling his fingers. "I gotta loosen up my flower buying fingers. I'm going to go nuts on the daises" He said. Rosa bit back a smile here. She remembered the countless times that Jake had bought her flowers, and he knew that Daises were her favourite.

They completed the race and only found out after that Hitchcock was out in the first 3 minutes.

"The next event will be keep your cover" She introduced. "Contestants must craft an undercover persona, and talk to as many police officers as you can before being recognised" Gina said

"Pregnant. Nice. Means you had sex" Jake said flirting with Amy a bit, but all Rosa could think about was how Gina had put the pictures so that she was under Jake. How she wished to be under Jake right now...

Jake sat on the roof, waiting for the others to arrive, before Amy walked out, talking about how she blew it.

"Peralta1" Rosa called from seemingly no-where, as she walked onto the roof. Jake turned to look at her "What the hell!" She asked "Where were you?" She asked "I got eliminated" She admitted. She watched Amy and Jake flirt. She had enough. She was pissed not.

"Jake!" She said warningly.

"Hmm?" He asked turning to her

"Can I talk to you for a second?" She asked

"Sure" Jake replied, walking off with Rosa.

"Alright Jake, you want to call off the bet?" She asked

"Seriously? You're going to back out now just because you're losing?" Jake asked "What is this? A riverboat casino on a the river with no rules?" Jake asked

"No. I'm giving you a chance to call off the bet because it's clear tha you don't actually want Katie's number" Rosa said. She was unsure when 'Katie's number' became a code word, and she was not entirely sure what it was for. But she knew that Jake was still into Amy. And as much as it hurt her, she had to let him go. "Because you're still into Amy" Rosa finished

"What? That's crazy. I just spent the whole day fighting for another girl's number" Jake said Rosa laughed

"You spent the whole day flirting with Amy" She replied. Hurt but hiding it well. Honestly a bit nagry that Amy was flirting back with him.

"Yeah we're joking around because we're friends now that I've moved on" He said

"Then prove it" Rosa said, her manipulative mind coming into play here. "Beat Amy and don't flirt with her at all" She said

"Fine. Easy. But you'd better tell Katie to clear her schedule out for Thursday for our date, because I am working nights until then and I'm the following weekend I am out of town" He said

That didn't take much reading into. She knew what he meant by working nights, and she knew that he had something planned for the following weekend. She also knew that she was included. "Let's do this!" He said, amped up.

Rosa watched as Amy started flirting with Jake again. Jake caught Rosa's eye and made sure not to flirt. Rosa nodded. She was impressed. Maybe Jake was over Amy.

Rosa watched as Jake and Amy fought, and Amy won. She watched as the elevator doors opened, and in walked Terry and Holt. She held her breath. Jake was left in charge. He would receive the punishment from this. And he only did it for her. She bit her tongue hard, to fight back the guilt.

"What's going on here?" Holt asked

"Someone answer him. NOW. Santiago" Terry asked. No reply. "Peralta" He asked. Jake couldn't find the words to say. "Boyle?" Terry asked.

"No one has anything to say?" Holt asked Rosa stepped forward. No way was she letting Jake take the blame for this.

"Captain. What you just saw was the Jimmy Jab games. It's a bunch of dumb contests we play to kill the time. Nobody even cares who wins" Rosa said "It's stupid, but we like it" Rosa said, once Amy had interjected with her victory.

"Clean this up. Now" Holt said. They started cleaning in silence. Rosa trying her hardest to avoid Jake. Trying to find the words to say.

About an hour later, Holt walked out of his office. Still leaving Jake in charge of the motorcade, as he and Jeffords had a meeting back at the precinct.

"The Serbian President's plane is wheels up. Report to your motorcade positions immediately. Let's go!" He said

"Hey. You gave it a good try. Sorry you lost" Ros said, walking up to Jake.

"No. It's for the best" Jake admitted. Fighting hard to retain eye contact. "I let Amy win" He admitted. Rosa raised an eyebrow at him. He had to look away. He had to be honest with her, he couldn't look her in the eye whilst he said it though. "You're right. I'm still not over her" He said

"Right" She said. She turned her back and walked away. In one sentence, Jake had broken her heart. She willed away the tears, focusing firmly on her job.

"Rosa, wait" Jake called but she didn't turn back. Instead she waited until Jake had gone. Jake had set his plan out in the briefing. He and Charles would ride in the first car. Rosa in the second, Amy in the third. Hitchcock and Scully behind, with some uniforms on bikes around.

Rosa knew that this job, despite being well trained for it, she knew its risks. She knew that she couldn't forgive herself if something happened to Jake and she left things the way that she did.

She walked out, and round to Jake's car

"Boyle. Get out. I need to talk to Jake" She said

"Okay" Boyle said to her, turning back to Jake "Bye" He replied, before once more turning to Rosa. "I warmed up the seat" He said Rosa got in and complained about the seat.

"Look. If you're here for your $200, can I interest you in a cheque that will definitely bounce?" He asked

"No. You will pay me in cash" She replied. They relaxed into the silence, and Jake realised that he had to address the issue. Having similar thoughts to Rosa about not leaving things where they did. He still couldn't look at her.

"Look, I thought I was over Amy but clearly, I'm not you know" Jake said. It hurt him to admit that to Rosa, he did love Rosa. He just knew that he couldn't start anything serious with Rosa knowing that he liked Amy. It wasn't fair to her. Regardless of her lack of wanting to go public. "I'm as frustrated as you are" Jake said

"I'm not frustrated" Rosa replied Hurt. Jealous and let down. Yes. She thought" But I am not enjoying this" She said, truthfully. Jake could hear the hurt in her tone as she said those words.

"It is not like you to get hung up on a girl" She said. Aside from me, she added internally.

"I don't know what to do" Jake admitted. He still couldn't look at her.

"You call Katie. That's what you do" Rosa said handing him a piece of paper.

"The only way to move on, is to move on whether you think you're ready to or not" She said sharply "Gotta get out there, man" She added.

"Alright. Thank you"

"Good luck" Rosa replied. Jake started the car, and Rosa put her belt on. Charles had sat himself in Rosa's car, so Rosa stayed with Jake.

They went and met the president, and whilst Jake was driving, he also radioed the squad cars around, and locked off intersections. Due to Jake's incredible leadership skills, the motorcade went smoothly. Rosa and Jake didn't really have a chance to talk, as Jake was so engrossed in the motorcade, but it was nice just to have him there.

They arrived back at the Precinct a few hours later, and Jake finally got to look at the note Rosa had given him

Still on for next weekend?" R xx

Jake smiled. His car had microphones in. They never listened to them, but if they ever did decide to, then his cover would be blown, and of all the times, it would be during a motorcade, where something was most likely to go wrong.

They arrived back at the precinct. Jake sat at his desk, Amy at hers. Boyle and Hitchcock had gone off, and Rosa sat on Jake's desk. They were chatting about the motorcade when Holt walked out.

"How was it?" He asked

"Smooth and dull Sir. Not a car out of place, not an assassin in sight" Jake said

"Good. Detective Diaz. A minute?" He said.

"Here's my bollocking for standing up earlier" She said to Jake, hopping off the desk and walking inside.

"Have a seat, Diaz" Holt said sitting behind his desk. Rosa sat on the other side, beside Terry.

"I want to talk to you about your attitude earlier" Holt said

"I apologise, Sir-" Rosa started, when she was cut off

"No. Please Detective. Don't apologise. You stood up, when others were too scared to. You said the truth, regardless of the consequences" Holt said

"Sir?" Rosa asked, wondering why it sounded like he was complimenting her.

"Rosa, are you familiar with Giggle Pig" Holt asked

"Yes Sir, it was Jake and I that brought it to your attention" She said, reminding Holt of the drugs bust they conducted a few weeks ago, where they discovered this new type of ecstasy.

"We have been given a task force, to attack this problem. And we would like you to head it" Holt said

"Are you serious?" Rosa asked, unable to keep the smile from her face

"I know it's more work, and longer hours, but think how rewarding it will be. How good it will be for the community" Terry said

"I'd be honoured. Thank you" Rosa replied

"Thank you, Diaz. I know it will be in good hands" Holt said. "Dismissed" He said

By the time Rosa walked out, everyone else had gone home. She walked down to the parking lot to get her bike, and found Jake next to it

"No box of stuff. I guess you haven't been fired" he said

"Better" Rosa said

"Well yes. Clearly anything is better" Jake said

"The Nine-Nine has a task force, to attack the Giggle Pig problem. I've been asked to head the Task Force" She said happily

"Rosa that's amazing!" Jake said pulling her in for a hug

"I know! I'm so excited!" She replied

"So you should be! That's one Hell of an assignment. Well done Rosa" He said

"Thanks Jake" She replied

"Come on. Let's go home" He said. Things were not quite what they were before. But they were ok. Jake had admitted to his feelings for Amy, but he was adamant that he wasn't going to act on them, and that he was trying to get over them. Rosa could live with that. They decided not to go to the bar, but instead to just go home.
