**By the way...I got the idea for the plot of this story after watching the ending scene of the episode "William" after watching Audrey give Nathan a confused look while also wondering how Nathan was going to apologize for his outburst at the station where he basically insuinated that she was a you-know-what. The name for the story...I got from listening to an Ed Sheeran song...you'll somehow understand what I mean when you read the title.**

She wakes up on the field of Haven Lookout dazed and confused by the time Nathan finds her with no idea where William had gone, not that she had wanted to know, she just simply had no clue and the only thing her brain could worry about right now was Nathan.
She woke up not only dazed and confused but she was also scared for some apparent reason, almost like she felt like her and Nathan weren't at all safe laying there on the grass by themselves.

"Where's William?" Nathan asked, worried as he looked into her scared and confused eyes.
Nathan watches as she doesn't say anything for a while before wrapping her arms around him and he immediately responds by hugging her back while whispering calming words into her ear as she clings to him.
"It's okay...I am here now." Nathan whispered, near her ear as he felt her relax a little against him.
She remains clinging to him for a while before disengaging from him as she looked around her again, taking in her surroundings, as she refused to let go of Nathan's hand.
"Where do you want to go...Audrey? I'll drive you anywhere you want to go...just tell me and we'll go right now." Nathan asked, using his thumb to rub circles over her hand.
"Please take me home..." Audrey replied, in a small voice that Nathan almost didn't hear as he helped her up and led her by hand towards the passenger side of the Bronco that was parked nearby.
"Okay. I'll have Stan come by and arrange to have a tow truck come and tow your car over to the Gull..." Nathan stated, softly as she nodded and thanked him when he opened the door and helped her into the seat as he shut the door before racing to the other side to get in.
Nathan spared one last glance at Audrey before pulling out of the field and onto the road and couldn't help but feel worried about how she was acting and guilty for how he acted towards her at the station.
'Oh god...I still can't believe I actually insinuated that she was some type of whore...I hope she can find some way to forgive me and not break things off with me...because I don't know if I could handle not being with her.' Nathan winced, as he drove the usual route to the Gull while periodically glancing Audrey's way.

By the time Nathan had pulled into his usual parking spot and turned off the ignition, he had looked over to see that Audrey had returned somewhat back towards her normal self and was looking over her apartment with hesitancy.
"I...uh...I am not sure that I want to be alone tonight...you wouldn't mind staying over tonight...would you?" Audrey replied, glancing over to meet his eyes as she grabbed onto his hand that was resting on the space between them.
"Of course I don't mind..." Nathan replied, taking her hand and bringing it up to her mouth to plant a kiss against her knuckles as he watched her playfully roll her eyes at him.
"Thank you..." Audrey replied, smiling as she planted a kiss against his lips before pulling away to watch him take the keys out and help her open her door before opening his and making his way over to help her out of the truck. Closing and locking the truck the moment she is completely out of the Bronco.
Nathan followed her up the steps to her apartment and stood protectively behind her as she used her keys to unlock the door to her apartment, leaving the door open so that Nathan could follow her inside and heard the familiar sound of the door shutting as well as the locks being set in place by Nathan. Audrey set her service weapon ontop of her bedside table along with her badge but not before taking the magazine out and setting it beside the gun and watched as Nathan did the same before taking a seat on the couch.
"Want a beer?" Audrey asked, making her way towards her refridgerator and searched for the beers that she had somehow taken to start stocking since she had started pretending to be Lexie DeWitt after escaping the Barn.
"Sure." Nathan replied, watching as she pulled two bottles out of the refridgerator and used a bottle opener to pop both bottles open and quickly made her way over to him on the couch.
Nathan thanked her as he accepted the beer and carefully set on the coffee table as she sat near him and did the same but not before taking a comfortable swig of the beer and propping her head up on her hand to look at him with a tired expression on her face.
"Listen...I am so sorry for the way I had acted today at the station...it was out of line and unprofessional of me...I would never ever in a million years have said what I had said towards you...I love you so much and I don't want to risk losing you over something stupid I did or said towards you in our office." Nathan stated, startling Audrey a bit as she slowly took in what Nathan had just said towards her.
"You were under the control of a paranoia trouble that William had infected you with...you weren't in your right mind...therefore I can't hold you accountable for things you said or did while under the influence of a trouble..." Audrey stated, grabbing her beer and taking another swig before adding, "...but let's be clear...next time I catch you calling me a whore...you won't be getting an invitation into my bed...you'll be getting a slap that was harder to the face than the one you got today...got it?"
"Yes ma'am." Nathan replied, almost choking on his beer as she regarded him with a raised eyebrow.
"Good." Audrey replied, placing her beer down before moving over to lean against his chest.

"Well...all of us kind of had to wait until the influence of the trouble wore off...and did Dwight actually taze me until I was knocked out?" Nathan replied, relishing in the feel of her hair against his fingers.
"At least you didn't end up dead like those poor souls that William and his goons infected at Gloria's morgue..." Audrey stated, lifting her head up to meet his eyes.
"Dwight, Jennifer and I weren't the only ones affected by this trouble..." Nathan replied, suddenly taken aback by this relevation.
"No...you guys are just one of the lucky ones who didn't end up killing one another...I swear you guys were crazy. You were accusing me of cheating with William and Jennifer was accusing me of cheating with Duke...and you were acting really insane. Duke and I were trying to calm you guys down and keep you from flipping out...we had to literally claim there was another gas leak happening in order to explain why you guys were off your rocker..." Audrey replied, wondering just what would have gone down if she and Duke hadn't been able to keep control at the station.
"Is that why I found myself handcuffed to the table when I came out of the trance?" Nathan asked, using his free hand to scratch the back of his neck as he thought back to his feelings of confusion to seeing his hand chained to the table.
"Duke had to subdue you somehow without being inhumane..." Audrey stated, before adding, "...has anyone told you that you are like a caged animal when agitated?"
"My mom and the chief always did...in fact the chief would always warn me to control my temper as it would sometimes get me into a lot of trouble...and now a days...I seem to become sensitive to the thought of you being in danger." Nathan replied, slightly avoiding eye contact with her as he watched her take that statement in.
"Name a time that you felt sensitive about me being in danger..." Audrey stated, shifting to lay completely on her back to look up at him and give him her full attention.
"When I came up to your apartment on what was supposed to be our first date and found your place completely ransacked and you missing..." Nathan stated, slowly as he looked down to catched the alarmed and pained look fall across Audrey's face.

Nathan stated, giving an apologetic smile towards Audrey as he looked down into her eyes.
''You didn't know and I didn't know that we had been within a floor from one another...so don't beat yourself up over it...you rescued me from Arla and that is all that matters.'' Audrey stated, gently waving away the apology as she rubbed a comforting thumb over his palm.
''I know...it's just...all throughout the whole time you were missing...I worried over what Arla could have been doing to you...and how much I just wanted to gather you up in my arms and never let go once I did find you...'' Nathan replied, smiling as he let himself feel her conforting touches on his hand.
''Thinking about you was the only thing that kept me going in trying to figure out a way out of there...mostly I briefly wished I had your affliction...having to deal with the slight pain of cutting your wrists in the process of sawing through the rope that is tied around them is not something one likes to feel...sorry.'' Audrey stated, making a face as she watched him ponder what she just said towards him.
''I can understand where you are coming from in that statement...there are times where I am glad that my affliction has prevented me from feeling the pain from any of the worst injuries inflicted onto me.'' Nathan replied, slowly as Audrey absorb that statement before countering with her own.
''Okay...but can we please agree that we are going to try our best to avoid getting ourself injured so bad that we have to visit the hospital...I want to limit the worry over you getting hurt.'' Audrey stated, meeting his eye to give him a serious stare as he thought over that reasonable request.
''I will try to avoid getting injured...but with a bunch of troubled townsfolk out to get you because you caused the troubles to stick around...that will be hard to avoid.'' Nathan stated, looking anywhere but Audrey's face before Audrey cupped his chin and forced him to look directly at her.
''Nathan...not everyone in Haven is out to get you and if they were out to get you...then they would have to go through me first because I love you Nathan Thaddeus Wournos and no one...and I mean NO ONE will ever love you as much as I love you...'' In the process of helping her through an orgasm, he was suddenly hit with an orgasm of his own and he barely had time to let out a moan as he proceeded to pump his seed into her and thrust uncontrollably into as he felt himself explode deep within her while listening to her let out a weak moan at the sheer feeling of his release coating her sore inner muscles.
Nathan met her eyes and gave her a sweet smile as she matched his sweet smile as Nathan swiftly latched onto her lips and kissed her passionately while they both whimpered at the feeling of him slipping from out of her, and Nathan heard the sound of Audrey laughing against his mouth as she caused him to break off the kiss and her a curious yet confused expression as he stared into her cerulean blue eyes.
"What's so funny?" Nathan asked, laughing along with her as he gave her one of his goofy smiles that she loved to see so much fly across his face as he looked deeply into her eyes with his sky blue eyes.
"Oh...I don't know...I'm just thinking about how you DEFINITELY aren't going to be leaving my bed tomorrow morning..." Audrey giggled, pressing one last kiss before slipping herself out from underneath him and moves to rest on her side facing him as he turns over to lay on his back close to her.
"I don't plan on leaving this bed in the morning...although...I am thinking about making us some pancakes tomorrow morning...unless we get interrupted by a troubled case or by a newspaperman slash leader of the guard." Nathan stated, accepting the blanket being placed upon him by Audrey as she got herself comfortable in snuggling herself into Nathan's side as she felt him wrap his arm around her.
''Hmmm...I love you so much...Nathan Thaddeus Wournos.'' Audrey stated, rubbing her face gently into his bare shoulder as she smirked at the reaction she got from him when she did that.
''I love you too...but why do you feel the need to add my middle name...you know how much I hate it...'' Nathan grumbled, staring off into space as he heard her start to laugh against his shoulder.
''Nathan...the name Thaddeus derives from Greek as meaning...to have a strong or courageous heart...which definitely defines you in my opinion." Audrey stated, looking up at him with a glint in her eyes as she looked up at him from her position at his shoulder.
"I still don't like the name even if it means I have a courageous heart...it has never really done me much justice when it came to kids teasing me whenever I was little. That and my trouble pretty much made me a walking target as the weird dude who couldn't feel anything all throughout high school." Nathan replied, still staring off into space as he felt her press a soft kiss to his shoulder.
"Nathan...you are my courageous man...even if I may not like how you choose to be courageous...you are still my courageous man and I wouldn't want you being anything other than what you can be." Audrey stated, stroking the side of his face near his hairline lovingly as she felt him lean into the contact welcomingly.
"You are the one bright thing in my life that I know I have done right and right now I almost can't believe that we are laying here in bed and your in my arms after having the most fantastic sex that I have ever had in my entire life." Nathan replied, his face beaming into the most happy smile that she had ever known him to have.
"Something tells me that I will be hearing this a lot from you every single time we have sex..." Audrey replied, with a chuckle as she yawned against him and closed her eyes.
"Maybe..." Nathan replied, grinning as he began hearing the steadiness of her breathing and heartbeat as he slowly began to be taken under the sweet slumber.
"Well...as much as I would like to playfully tease you about that...I would rather suggest that we get some sleep...goodnight Nathan." Audrey stated, pressing one last kiss to his shoulder as she fell asleep quickly.
"Goodnight Audrey...my beautiful Audrey." Nathan replied, pressing a kiss to her head as he settled into a deep peaceful sleep.
Nathan and Audrey held each other as they both fell into a blissful sleep as they let the days events melt away with each breath they took, not aware of the fact that the terror that was seemingly quickly unfolding in regards to dealing with William and his goons was slowly going to become dangerous for them all to deal with.
For now, they were safe and away from the dangers of the day until morning came and they would need to be on guard for anything William might throw their way. But for now...they were safe sleeping in each others arms as they dreamed about one another and their future together.
***So...I literally wrote this over spring break back in March when my internet had unfornately went down for a total of eight days...which were eight long and excruiating days without internet access. Don't take access to internet for granted, my friends, because internet can actually make your life more interesting and it can also keep yourself from going temporarily insane from lack of internet. I basically wrote this story and another story at the same time while I had no internet because I needed to find something that would keep me occupied while I waited those eight days for the internet to get restored and I really hope that you guys enjoyed this story and I may write a follow up chapter to this as I am half-tempted to write a second chapter...IF I get a review or two from this story.***
