A/N, and I'm back with another chapter!
Just want to thank white tiger freak and kodkodkittie for reviewing :) It really means a lot and I'm glad you are enjoying the story so far.
Gus was at Henry's house first thing the next morning. Henry usually woke around 6am each morning and knowing this Gus arrived at 7am.
Henry answered the door with only one eyebrow raised.
"I told you he said around 9am right?" Henry stated plainly.
Gus nodded, "I don't want to miss him, he selfishly left without saying goodbye last time. He will stay this time I'll make sure of it"
Henry just nodded, "I'd like that too, though it would be nice for him to do that and be himself. He will always be my son but he's never told me about his family before this life he found himself in"
Henry paused and wandered to the kitchen to click the kettle on.
"I often wonder whose place I'm taking you know? He probably has parents, maybe siblings, a family and yet he can never truly be himself. It is selfish of me I know but…"
Gus was quick to answer, "I know who he is. His name is Shawn Spencer and he is my best friend. Not some person faking friendship for a stupid role to solve a stupid case. And you are his dad, I don't know if he has another one but you are the person he has always gone to for help, who he both loves and hates at the same time, You will always be his father Henry"
Henry gives a tight smile back, "You want a coffee?"
Gus nodded, "Please".
They coffees seemed to wake both men up and it wasn't long before they headed out onto the beach to wait for him there.
The beach seemed deserted that morning. Although the body had been removed the crime scene tape was still visible and cordoning off an area by the house.
Gus and Henry sat on the bench looking out at the sea, the waves were small, the light breeze affecting it very little. A noise distracted them and Henry stood up to get a better view. A man was speeding towards the shore on a jet ski.
Gus looked at his watch, it was too early to be Shawn but…
Both men were up on their feet and headed towards the sea, the man ran has fingers through his wet hair and looked up, looking straight at Henry and Gus before smiling.
It was Shawn.
They didn't run, Henry walked towards him. Looking at the state of his son, he looked healthy, didn't seem to be suffering from any gun shot wounds. Shawn was doing the same thing back at his father and Shawn. Gus seemed to be happy to see him which gave Shawn a small internal sigh of relief. He had known that leaving without saying goodbye to Gus was a bit of a dick move but he didn't seem like Gus wanted to punch him.
Henry and Shawn were now standing face to face and Henry decided to make the first move and there his arms around his son.
Shawn froze slightly before returning the hug.
"It's good to have you back, Shawn" Henry mumbled.
"It's good to be back" Shawn replied, "Speaking of which, where have I been?"
"Travelling" Henry shrugged, "I gave no one specifics"
Shawn nodded. "Gus…"
Shawn reached himself for a punch.
Gus took a deep breath, "Never leave me like that again" he released in one massive breath before he also threw his arms around Shawn. Shawn returned the hug shocked, he had expected Gus to be more angry at him. Usually Gus was a massive over reactor but instead of pushing him away like he expected he was letting him in. It was weird.
"Ok, that's enough hugs. We got a murder to solve" Shawn reminded them.
"You're really early" Gus pointed out, stating the obvious as he frowned at his watch.
Shawn grinned, "It didn't take me long to finish up with what I was doing"
"Oh yeah?" Henry confirmed with a small smile. He knew how good his son was with a weapon, he had taught him after all.
"Well that means we have enough time for a proper breakfast before we head to the station, right?"
Shawn squinted his eyes in contemplation, he really should start with the case….. but his dads pancakes really are the best, plus Agent Matthews would start with the case, Shawn would eat.
"Sure, Will you make pancakes, dad?" Shawn asked with a grin.
Henry couldn't have refused if he wanted to. "Sure son"

The detectives arrived at the station bright and early that morning. Juliet ran about setting up a conference room for them to all pull together in. With a big case like this, it was good to have all the information in one place relating to the case. Lassiter had printed copies of everything and had been making a giant pin board so nothing had to be rooted through and everything was visible in a single glance. At exactly nine o'clock that morning the station burst into life and loud chatter was heard causing both detectives to leave the room and see what was causing all the commotion.
Shawn had entered the precinct, a pineapple smoothie already in hand, with his father and Gus by his side,
"Jules! Lassie! Long time no see!" He exclaimed, almost skipping towards them with a big smile on his face.
Juliet grinned and gave him a quick hug,
"Yeah I got impatient. Who cares about being fashionably late anyway?"he asked rhetorically before looking at Lassiter who was looking at him funny.
"Earth to Lassie?" Shawn smiled.
Lassiter let out a small huff but smiled inwardly at the nickname. "Let's get started, well catch you up on what's happened so far"
Shawn followed into the room with wide eyes, his brain taking in every piece of information. Juliet and Lassiter had done a great job and had even given a timeline of everything they had found and done. The profiles of all the individuals involved were also pinned to the board with their place of residence resting underneath.
"Hitchcock?" Shawn questioned after scanning everything.
"Yeah, I went to see the triple feature" Gus informed, "It was great"
"Was she wearing that necktie when she served you…." Shawn asked himself whilst looking through the photos of the security camera that Lassiter had acquired.
Gus frowned unsure.
"She wasn't. Yin must have put the neck tie on her, were dealing with theme and motifs. That neck tie is directly from the film Frenzy. Him knowing that you were gonna be at that Triple feature…. Our clues are going to found in Hitchcock movies"
There was a moment of silence as they took this information in, it made sense and Lassiter was astounded it hasn't come to Shawn in a miraculous vision, but he said nothing, not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth.
"You think there is a Yin?" Juliet questioned.
"Yang was all about order. Yin is all about chaos. Last time I checked Yang is in solitary, so even if she is pulling the strings, we have to ask ourselves, whose strings is she pulling?"
"Yang said she would only speak to you"
"Me? …Great" Shawn muttered, "In the meantime, Yin is definitely going to make a move soon, everyone familiarise yourselves with as many Hitchcock films as possible"
Lassiter's face fell, this was not his area at all.
"Gus, help them out? I'm gonna check in with the Chief"
Shawn nodded at Gus before leaving the room, hearing Gus instruct them in which movies to focus on.
Shawn knocked on the Chief's door and entered without waiting to be called in. For once the Chief didn't seem to mind and she smiled at him.
"I wish it was with better circumstances" she shrugged.
"Me too" Shawn agreed, "I've got Gus telling them which movies to watch. From what I can tell so far all our clues are going to found in Hitchcock films. Yin will make a move soon so I'm going to go and speak to Yang"
The Chief nodded , "When this is all over, we need to talk"
Shawn froze, "Sure Chief"
Shawn practically bolted from the room, straight into McNabb.
"Buzz!" Shawn yelped surprised, "My man, come on let's go see Yang"
"What?" Buzz questioned, "How… it's good to see you Shawn" he smiled.
Shawn gave him one of his trade mark grins, "It's good to be back".
