In the next scene, Gus and Charles are looking for the Food Truck Bandit and his food truck.
"Man, still no sign of the Food Truck Bandit," Gus said.
"He has to be somewhere in this alley," Charles said.
Gus senses a smell.
"Wait a minute. I smell something," Gus continues to walk further down the alley.
"Gus, why are you sniffing your nose like a dog?"
"Its "The Super Sniffer." It is my almost superhuman sense of smell that never fails me."
"I'm sure it doesn't with the way you're sniffing that bad boy."
"Charles, I see something up ahead."
On the ground, Gus and Charles come across a pot of tomato sauce.
"I thought I smelled something tomatoey. We have come across a pot of tomato sauce."
"And you are one hundred percent sure that it is tomato sauce?"
"I'm positive," Gus bends over and uses his pinky to get a little taste of the tomato sauce. "Yep, it is definitely tomato sauce, just as I suspected."
"This pot of tomato sauce obviously came from the food truck of the Food Truck Bandit." Charles said.
"Affirmative," Gus replied. "Who knows if the Food Truck Bandit and his truck is around here in this alley."
Jake is calling Charles from his walkie-talkie.
"Hey Charles, how are things going with you and Gus? Any sign of the Food Truck Bandit?"
"Hey Jakey. Things are going great with me and Gus, but no sign of the Food Truck Bandit."
Yeah, me and Shawn just finished eating lunch at Nacho Cheese while we were getting information about Thomas Bradford."
Charles pauses for a few seconds. He was not pleased with Jake having lunch with someone else that was not him. "The restaurant that serves the best nachos? he asked.
"That is right. The owner of the place told us that Bradford worked there, but he quit because the owner was too hard on him."
"Mm hmm. Well, Gus and I grabbed us some pizza at Mario's and Gus just found a clue. It is a pot of tomato sauce."
"Oh, Gus must have used his super sniffer," Shawn said.
"His super what now?" Jake with a confused expressing on his face.
"His super sniffer. It is Gus's superhuman sense of smell," Shawn explained.
"Cool Cool Cool. Well, I must say Charles, you and Gus did a great job," Jake said.
"Yeah, I bet you wish it was me and you instead, huh?"
"Charles, please don't tell me you're jealous?"
"No need to tell you anything since I am not…you're jelly! Anyways, PEACE!" Charles turns off his walkie talkie.
"What was that all about?" Gus wondered.
"Oh, that is just Jake missing me, but then again, I doubt he is since he is hanging with his new best friend, Shawn," Charles replied.
"Man, what is your problem?" Shawn is not Jake's new best friend, you are his best friend. I know you won't admit that you are jealous."
"Fine, I am jealous! I don't know why, but I am just afraid that Jake will end up being friends with someone else and he will completely forget about me."
"C'mon, son. Jake would never replace you. Those guys he met before you came and went. They are from his past, you are his present and forever his future."
"You're right. So, would you get jealous if Shawn ended up being buddies with someone else?"
"Of Course not. I know Shawn will always be there for me. We are childhood friends for crying out loud."
Charles smiles. "Thanks Gus. I appreciate you for that. I believe I have made another friend."
Gus smiles backs.
Charles spreads his arms out for a hug from Gus. "Hug?"
"Why not?" Gus said.
Charles and Gus are hugging each other. Doug Judy and Rosa are standing their witnessing the whole thing.
"Get a room you two!" Doug Judy yells and then he laughs.
Gus and Charles give Doug Judy a dull look on their faces.
Gus, Charles, Doug Judy, and Rosa all returned to the 99. Charles is holding the pot of tomato sauce in his hands. Jake and Shawn made it back to the 99 before the others did.
"There you guys are," Jake then notices Doug Judy.
"Doug Judy, my buddy," Jake excited to see him.
"Jake Peralta from another motha," Doug Judy replied.
"Long time no see. What are you doing here?"
"I ran into Rosa and she let me tag along with the crew. Ain't that right boo?" Doug Judy almost putting his arm around Rosa.
"I'll" kill you," Rosa said when looking forward while her arms are crossed.
"Okay," Doug Trudy replied. He quickly stops himself from putting his arm around her.
"So, I am assuming that is the pot filled with tomato sauce that you and Gus found," Shawn said.
"That is right. We figured we bring it back as evidence," Charles replied.
"Jake, who is the man with the neatly cleaned afro again?" Shawn asked.
"Doug Judy, formerly known as the Pontiac Bandit," Jake clarified.
"I'm digging the afro my man," Shawn complementing Doug Judy.
"Thanks. You know I like to keep it nice and fresh," Doug Judy replied.
"Have you guys heard from Amy and Jules?" Gus wondered.
"No, we have not. We might as well go look for them so we all can have a better luck tracking down Thomas Bradford," Jake suggested.
Amy is calling Jake from his walkie talkie.
"Amy calling Jake."
