A.N Betty has never heard of or been to the White Wyrm or the Southside.
On with the story!
Chapter 3
Jughead stood with his back leaned against the wall and his arms folded across his chest as he watched Betty's chest slowly rise and fall. He was stood in the basement to a bar in the Southside called The White Wyrm. He had laid Betty on a blanket on the floor and one of her wrists were handcuffed to a pole next to her head. Jughead's eyes moved to look at the small cut on her temple and he felt a wave of guilt wash over him. He hadn't meant to hurt Betty. In fact, he would've preferred it if she'd have just gone to the police but he knew that Sweet Pea and the rest of the serpents would never have allowed that.
Jughead knelt down next to Betty and stroked his fingers down the side of her head. He was afraid of her waking up as he knew she would hate him after what he had done but for now he could pretend that she still loved him as much as he loved her.
He jerked his hand away as she started to stir and her eyes fluttered open. It took a while for her eyes to focus but when she saw Jughead her eyes widened and she shuffled away from him. She started to panic and and her breathing became heavy when she noticed that her hand was handcuffed to the pole and grabbed at it trying desperately to get it off.
"Hey, hey, hey. It's okay. You're safe." Jughead tried to soothe her putting his hands on her shoulders and giving her a little shake.
"Don't touch me!" She screamed, frantically trying to push him away. "Betty, calm down, I'm not going to hurt you." Jughead said, trying his best not to make any sudden movements and keeping his voice soft and calm. He knew how bad her anxiety could get in stressful situations and this situation was definitely stressful.
It took a few minutes but Betty managed to calm herself down, evening out her breathing and she sat on the blanket hugging her knees.
Suddenly, the door opened and a tall, rough looking man with long sandy blonde hair and a serpent jacket walked down the stairs to the basement. "Ah! Elizabeth, so glad you're finally awake" he said. At first, Betty thought he might be friendly but she noticed the tone of his voice was strange. His eyes looked hungry as though he was a predator hunting his prey.
"It's Betty" she corrected, feeling proud of how strong and assertive her voice sounded.
"My apologies, Elizabeth" he said, clearly he was playing games with her. "How do you even know my name?" She demanded.
"Your mother used to come to the bar here every once in a while, until she ditched us for the Northside to have a perfect life with her perfect little family" he replied, angered by the thought of Alice Cooper.
"Where am I?" she asked. "You're on the Southside" he answered cryptically "that's all you need to know for now". Betty was about to object when Jughead interrupted. "What's the plan, Tall Boy?" he asked.
Tall Boy shook his head and sighed. "Well I'm yet to figure what to do with her but I know for a fact that she's not leaving here until we make sure that she won't go blabbin' to the sheriff" he said.
"I won't tell anyone! I promise!" Betty pleaded.
"Yeah right" Tall Boy rolled his eyes and then pointed a finger at Jughead. "An' you, if you help her escape or go to the sheriff, I'll kill 'er myself. I know that you two had some sort of relationship goin' on so I'll be watching you Jones. Now go to my office an' wait for me, I've got a job for you".
Jughead reluctantly left the basement, leaving Betty alone with Tall Boy.
"Now" said Tall Boy, crouching down to become eye level with Betty "I'm gonna have fun breaking you. You're feisty, like your mother".
Betty scoffed, "You won't get the chance to even try. You serpents are rubbish at what you do, I mean who murders someone behind one of the most popular places in Riverdale?! You're going to make mistakes, leaving a trail for the police to follow right to you" Betty spat, poking him in the chest harshly with her free hand.
Tall Boy's face reddened and he grabbed Betty's chin roughly, squeezing hard. "Listen, bitch" he growled "I rule the Southside, the cops fear us. You might have a perfect house, perfect family and amazing colleges begging for you to attend them but here, in the Southside, you are nothing". He let go of her chin, stood up and walked up the stairs to door. "Nighty night" he chirped before turning the light off and locking the door behind him, leaving Betty in complete darkness.
