Chapter 29: Results

The results laid in front of the family, in some hope to their family tree would grow larger. Neither of the parents could've imagined such bliss when it came to hearing the gender of their sweet angel. The results kept pumping through their blood stream as the anxious waiting came to an ending.

The following hours after they learned - they called Betty, Polly, Jughead and JB to sit in the living room. Alice's watery eyes flowed with happiness as the children looked up eager to hear the news; some more than others. Polly and JB shared a delight with having a new baby sibling in their life.

"So... what is the baby's gender?" Polly asked first, no longer being able to contain her excitement.

Betty's curiosity interrupted the question. "I thought you couldn't find out the gender until you were further along." She had a reason to be curious. And Betty was right.

FP sat down next to Jug, JB and began to explain." You are right, Betty, normally we wouldn't be able to find out until your mom was further along in the pregnancy, but Dr. Shan says sometimes you can tell the gender as early as 14 weeks. So when he asked, if we would like to know now or in a few weeks, we went with now." His smile never slipped away.

FP couldn't contain himself. When he heard the doc say those very words his heart flowed with happiness. To him it didn't matter if it was a boy or an girl, all that matter to him was if it was strong and healthy. He figured the same for Alice. He didn't actually know for sure though.

"And... can you tell us the excitement of waiting is killing me, Dad!" JB blurted as a big smile overtook her face.

FP chuckles quietly at his daughter's eagerness. He and Alice shared a look and both of them nodded. JB started slightly bouncing on the couch and waited patiently as she could for the reveal. The day her dad told her about the new baby -- She was excited. She's always wanted to be an older sibling for once. She loved Jughead, don't get her wrong but the want for a younger sibling always lingered.

"Alright. Alright. We'll tell you."

Alice grabbed her purse quickly, pulling four ultrasound photographs and returned back to couch." Close your eyes." She heard groaning," come on it will be longer if you don't." All four children closed their eyelids.

She placed the photos down onto the coffee table. Her eyes began tearing up again. "Okay. You can open your eyes now!"

Polly, Betty, Jug, JB's hands were removed from their eyes. FP's and Alice's subconsciously reached for one another as they sat by each other. FP hadn't realized until he felt a tingle touch his right hand. He didn't bother to withdraw and actually interlaced their fingers together. Alice smiles, holding onto his hand.

"A girl!" JB shouted," Yeah! I get a little sister!" She started jumping up and down on the cushion. She leaped off, pulling Alice into a great big squeeze. A little sudden, She hugged the little girl back. "Thank you! Thank you!"

FP and Jug who tries to hide that he's smiling, chuckle along. Betty and Polly were happy to learn they were getting a baby sister. Alice smiled brightly as JB pulled out of the hug and said," You are welcome, JB."

After everyone gave their congratulations to Alice and FP, the kids decided to have a friendly debate on what to name the new little baby girl. FP let them head over to his trailer while He and Alice sat by the fireplace.

"Do you have any girl names?" Her delicate voice broke through his thoughts.

His head shifted and his eyes widened. "I've been thinking of some, yes. What about you?"

Alice started to smile. She always had plans and FP knew that. Her smile was contagious like a cold and he began to smile along with her. With her only a few meters away from him he missed her touch. It had been months since they've kissed, since they laid beside each other.

"Lily."

"Like the flower?" He asked.

"Yeah. I always like the sound of it. Hmm... now you go?"

He watched as she rubbed her belly without a thought. He loved how she made things seem effortless.

"What about, Kylie?" Alice snorted, shaking her head.

"Nope. We are not naming our baby after Kylie Jenner. I won't have our baby posing for playboy mags!"

"It's not a horrible name, Alice. The Kardashians-Jenners aren't that bad."

Alice scoffed, crossing her arms over her belly." You are only saying that because you think they are sexy."

He shook his head." Whatever." He sat up in the chair." How about this, we each can say veto if we don't like each other's choice."

"Okay. Well I veto Kylie."
