Chapter 36: Welcome Home
One Week Later... November 9th
At two in the morning She woke up with shooting pains down her spine. She nudge FP hard in the ribcage with the pointy end of her elbow. He had been staying over lately because he didn't want to miss her going into labor. He already missed the first three months because she didn't tell him. He wasn't going to miss anymore.
"FP." She whispered through a contraction.
FP blinked his sleepy eyes. "What?"
"It's time, FP."
"Are you sure because two days ago it was only just Braxton Hicks contractions." She elbowed him again.
"No. I-ahh!" She yelped as another wave of contractions hit. She breathed it out," I think it's for real this time, FP."
He quickly kicked off the bed sheet, got his boxers on and helped her out of bed. "It was our third round last night." He muttered with a cocky smirk on his face.
Alice smacked him on the back of his head." Quick stalling, while you gloat I'm going to have this baby." She snapped, waddling away from her bed and struggling to put on her slippers.
"Wait, wait." He stopped her and helped her put on her slippers. "You wait in the car, I'll tell Polly and Betty."
He knocked on Polly's bedroom door and heard groaning before the door opened. "Your mom is having the baby. Can you tell Betty?"
"Yeah! Go, go!" She chuckled, swatted him toward the front door. "We'll be just fine."
He met Alice by the truck. She sunk down into the seat with a sharp pain in her back. She breathed through the contractions like her doctor at the birthing class told her. The truck roared to life and FP sped out of the driveway. Once they arrived the hospital entrance the doctor got her a wheelchair and took them to a semi-private room.
Alice dressed in the ugly hospital grown that itch her skin as she laid in the bed. Two women have came and gone since she and FP got this room. Those two women went into labor. Two more women that made Alice pissed at the world as she longed in pain.
"I'm next!" Alice screamed at her nurse," I have to be next!" The startled woman, nods.
She felt as if she was Rachel from Friends when she goes into labor and everyone kept having their babies before her.
FP was next to her, swiping a cool wash rag over her sweaty forehead and kissed her head. He grimaced when they told she was only 3cm dilated. She dropped her head against the back board. She was exhausted. She was only three hours into her labor process and she happened to be pissed with anybody who came into contact with her.
"It's okay, just breathe." He coached her through the round of contractions, ripping into her spine like knifes.
"I forgot how much this hurt, FP. It hurts too much." She cried.
FP stroked her hair and kissed her on the lips. "It will be all worth it."

When Betty woke up later Polly informed her that their mom was at the hospital and that FP would be keeping them updated. She still had to go to school, groaning she sat up in bed. She drove herself to school, skipping breakfast and walked into her first class of their senior year. Well not really since school started two and half months ago.
"My mom is having the baby." Betty sighed with a smile on her face.
Veronica, Cheryl and, Toni smiled as Betty told them the news. They couldn't wait until Baby Girl Jones was here. In truth they had a little bet pool and so far Cheryl had been wining. They weren't the only ones having bets. Jughead and JB bet that Cheryl was wrong. But it seemed like it is going on Cheryl's direction.
"That's great, Bee." Veronica gushed as she took out the note from her bag.
Two Hours Later...
"I can't do this!" She cried," This is too much, FP! WHY DIDN'T GET A DAMN EPIDURAL!"
"You're almost done, baby. Just two more pushes and she's ours, okay?" She gave one last glare before gripping his hand.
"ARGHHHHHHHHHH!" She screamed.
FP's eyes watered when he looked over at his girlfriend. He hated seeing her in this pain. He wished that he could take it for her.
"Stop pushing, Alice." Dr. Shan said.
Alice and FP looked at him. "What's wrong?" FP asked unable to understand the doctor's face.
Dr. Shan sighed," Alice, FP, the baby is losing oxygen." His heart started to beat more rapidly in his chest. "This means we need you to push as hard as you can so we can get her out." She nodded as tears shred in her eyes.
"On a count of three, you will need to push again, Alice." Alice watched for his signal. "One, two, three... push... push, Alice!"
"It's almost over!"
"ARGHHHH!" Alice moved closer, pushing with all her might.
A small pitchy cry filled the air causing both parents to sigh in relief. Their baby was okay. Alice's eyes sparkled with love when she first laid sight on the little squirming baby. They cleaned her nose, FP cut the umbilical cord and then their baby was laid on her chest.
"She's precious." FP whispered softly, gently brushing a hand over the baby's head. "I can't believe my sweet potato is finally here."
"Me either." Alice cooed, ignoring the stupid nickname FP just mentioned. That will be discussed on a later date. Right now her mind was only filled with thoughts of her baby girl.

Betty, Polly, JB, Jughead and Juni arrived at the Jones-Smith hospital room with teddy bears, chocolates for mom and dad (mostly Alice). They waited for FP to the okay and entered earning a loopy grin from FP, who was holding the baby in his arms.
When they first placed her into his arms... his heart swelled with joy and his eyes watered. He had forgotten the feeling of holding your baby. The first time is always special, no matter what happened before the little eyes staring up at you makes everything faded away out of existing.
"She's so cute!" JB quietly squealed in awe as soon as her eyes met the baby.
Polly smiled, kissing her mom on the cheek before giving the box of chocolates. Alice yawned, taking the box and smiled at her eldest. Polly always knew how to cheer up.
"What's her name?" Betty chirped. Jughead and JB leaned closer.
FP and Alice shared a smile before letting the name slip through their lips. "Roselyn Lilly Jones." They watched as Polly's mouth fell open.
"You picked mine?" She was speechless.
"After careful consideration we picked yours."
FP asked," Would you like to hold her?"
Polly's nods, getting herself situated into a chair and FP placed her carefully into Polly's arms. She supported the baby's head.
"Good luck, Roselyn we have a strange family." She said through a soft tone.
"That's an understatement over the century." Alice chuckled, sneaking a chocolate into her mouth, earning looks from the kids." What? It's the truth."
