The mall seemed like the best idea. They had no doubt the creature after them could easily flatten these patrons left and right because there seemed to be no limit on his power. At the moment though it was all they could think of. Or rather all Ann could think of. They chose the food court because it was the busiest and Ann was able to pull up the strongest signal.

"Come on, come on, come on!" David snarled softly. She lifted her head and tossed a lock of red hair over her shoulder.

"You want to do this asshole? No? Get the Hell away from me then I feel like your a target on my back!"

She read up on the legends as fast as she could before slipping her phone in her pocket. "We need a four leaf clover. Then we need a way to trick him into ingesting it. the only other thing that will protect us is iron."

She went to stand up and froze. There was the creature himself sitting at a table nearby as perky as you please and sipping on an mug of beer. She glanced at the guys and realized disgusted that big bad ass David had crunched under the table and Brian apparently wondered to the food bar for a drink still high as a kite. The only one at her side was her brother.

Who was standing behind her.

Ann gritted her teeth. She would like to beat the holy hell at of these men. Maybe she should just trade the gold for her brother's life and let the damn thing take the other two. They deserved it anyway. Brian stepped up with two icees then he gasped and nearly spilled them when the ol lep appeared at their table in a blink of an eye. Some people did double takes but for once people did not seem inclined to be nosy or take pictures with their phones instead they hurried away dragging their kids with them.

Ann took the icees and tried to look casual an idea forming.

"I have something you want."

"Nay nay me fine young lass, you hold me gold and that's the truth but you also bear the face of someone dear to me, whose bride collar was broken into three."

He suddenly stood up and leaned forward to tip her chin up with one claw. People were looking then rushing off to other stores and David had yet to come out from under the table. Her brother and Brian stood petrified not knowing what to do.

"What else do you want?" Ann asked holding still not wanting to be gored by that wicked claw.

"You my dear, you have my beloved's face and my beloved's form, her soul in you I can replace! All I need is for you to succumb to me embrace, that's all. Just agree by fair or foul means."

He took his hat off brushing his red hair out of the way and grinned at her. It wasn't a nice grin. Instead it was an insane rubbed a hand down his coat drawing attention to the fine cloth and the gold buttons. Hideous as he was it was pretty apparent he had the trappings of wealth and Ann figured there had to be gold diggers out there who would leap at an offer for gold no matter who the owner was. Look at all the fucked up cat faced plastic surgery addicts that still got beautiful women.

Obviously he could stand in for the demon of greed. Ann Had never been particularly greedy. Ann started t shake her head before she hesitated. They needed to get to a four leaf clover. As long as she didn't agree or didn't agree she gave herself time.

The little beast held out a hand and lowered his voice into a gentle purr that Ann had to admit certainly was nice on the ears.

"Be me wife, and off to the land of the fae we'll be! Magic will be your toy and your dreams will be granted without question by me, if your my bride!"

Ann looked into his eyes. They were old ancient and they shone in a very not pleasant way.

"Would you spare the life of my brother?" She asked softly.

He squeezed her hand making her gasp. "For me beloved to inhabit a form most pure all those involved in her destruction must die by my hand. Then their hearts added to my bride's coffin vessel! Only then will the spell be successful and me bride brought back to the living."

"Ok well I have a challenge" She said suddenly. David peeked out surprised and dunked back down again seeing the thing was still on the table. The Leprechaun leaned back standing on the chair looking suspicious.

"What be this?"

"A challenge you have to answer to any challenge given to you in good faith."

" I Know the laws of the wee folk lass. What trick be this? Challenge me? You? Well who am I to resist!" He Motioned to her.

Brian reached forward for his cup and she slapped his hand not taking her eyes off the fiend in front of her.

"I challenge you to a simple drinking game. I bet I can drink this faster then you."

He relaxed and rolled his shoulders. "No one out drinks me lass but there must be a prize. Say I drink your drink in one go, if that be the case give me the last piece of gold."

Ann nodded. "Deal."

She set the icee in front of him and took the other one. She hoped to buy a little time. There was health food store not too far where she intended to get what she needed to slow him down enough to make it to the gardening center that was at the edge of the mall. She'd give him the gold gladly. Hell she'd give him David and Brian to. They were destined for prison anyway. No way was she going to pretend they hadn't hurt a woman, raped her, caused her to miscarry. She didn't care if this thing was the devil. Obviously he cared a lot if he was wreaking vengeance like this.

She held the cup up to her mouth putting the straw in place. He hesitated eyed the straw then shrugged and followed her lead.

"Brian?"

He stared blankly at her. Dear God she was surrounding by assholes.

"Ready, set, go Brian." She hissed focused on the evil eyes before her.

"Oh uh...ready, get set..."

"GO!" David screamed.
