Chihiro did her best to not move as she Heard Nomura speaking, presumably to Hisashi. They both had their backs to what they figured was a very dead human. Although she couldn't quite tell what they were saying, she didn't care. Just keep them busy until Haku gets here.

She waited until she heard Nomura's heels hitting the ground and fading. Hisashi let out a groan and stepped closer to Chihiro, speaking in a rather annoyed tone, "You know, it's your fault you're dead. You really should have just listened to me."

Chihiro's jaw clenched, she was so ready to kick this bastard's ass. She waited until he bent over, moving to pick up her body. She slammed her clenched fist into the bottom of his jaw once he did. He let out a yelp of surprise and she took the opportunity to kick him in the 'family jewels' as hard as she could. Hisashi fell over letting out a scream of pain and a small sob.

Chihiro couldn't help but grin, pulling her bottom eyelid down and sticking her tongue out, "That's what you get, mother fucker."

Hisashi glared at her and swallowed hard before getting up and grabbing her hair. She was thoroughly done with this shit. She grabbed his arm and twisted, throwing him to the ground and pulling hard until she heard the crack of a broken bone. Hisashi let out another shriek of pain and threw Chihiro off of him.

Chihiro hit the wall but it didn't hurt like when Nomura had done it. She quickly regained her composure to see the massive snake that replaced Hisashi. It let out a deafening hiss and lunged at her. She dove out of the way, quickly turning and kicking and punching as hard as she could, directing it towards his head. He barely flinched now. Well fuck, this is going to be a little more difficult.

The woman opted for focusing on dodging the large jaws, ducking behind furniture and into rooms whenever she could. She quietly cursed Haku for not already being here yet. She only managed to find a plant she could defend herself with, everything else in the hall shattered and splintered. She threw it at Hisashi's head and he dodged it as he started lunging again. She closed her eyes, expecting to feel his teeth. When she didn't she opened her eyes and grinned at what she saw. Something had grabbed Hisashi and dragged him back so he couldn't reach her. It was pretty obvious who it was when a roar echoed, probably through the entire castle.

Hisashi was larger in the weight sense, but he stood no chance against a furious dragon. The snake let out another hiss as Haku ripped into him with claws and teeth. Chihiro had never seen Haku be this frightening and it shook her up pretty good, but he was Haku so she couldn't stay shaken too long.

Blood poured from the snake's wounds and it tried to fight back by biting Haku's side. The dragon simply looked annoyed and offended rather than actually hurting him. Haku let out another roar that shook the floor and walls as he picked Hisashi up. Hisashi panicked as Haku easily tossed the snake against a wall; a wall with windows. Haku charged against the snake and the windows shattered instantly. Cracking was heard as the wall in between the windows gave way. Hiashi shrieked as much as his snake form would allow as he fell. It was such a far fall Chihiro never even heard him hitting the ground.

Haku continued to watch until he was satisfied they wouldn't be seeing Hisashi again. He turned to Chihiro and nodded at her. Chihiro was beyond exhausted, but she still managed to jog to him and hug his face. A noise that sounded like a cat purring filled her ears, causing her to laugh.

Haku looked away, seemingly to be a bit embarrassed. The interaction felt so natural no words needed to be spoken for them to understand each other. Haku looked back at the human then nodded to his back. Chihiro returned the nod and climbed onto his back, clinging tight to his fur as he jumped out the opening and circled the castle.

Once he had spotted his prey, he dove towards the witch, causing another large opening in the castle. She looked panicked and tried to back away, using magic to stop the dragon. The dragon let Chihiro gently fall off his back as he approached the witch. He let out a roar that shook the castle so much it felt like the entire thing would collapse. Chihiro couldn't entirely tell the details, but she knew the sight of blood and the furious roars of the dragon.

Nomura let out an ear-piercing scream, and then… Quiet. Chihiro's consciousness had faded too much for her to move anymore, but she heard the voices of Lin and Aogaeru. She felt Haku's soft fur around her and Lin's fox fur joining it. She tried to hug Lin and Aogaeru but everything went black before she could.

Chihiro let out a groan as the light from the sun fell on her face. She mumbled, "Five more minutes." As she did she rolled over, taking a second to feel the pain that caused her to shoot up into a sitting position. She had accidentally rolled onto her wounded side which, based on the pain, wasn't exactly healed yet.

Chihiro rubbed away the sleep from her eyes and looked around, now recognizing where she was. This was Zeniba's cabin. She couldn't figure out if she was alive or dead, very much hoping for the former as her side was bandaged. After another moment she swung her legs over the edge, stretching her extremely stiff limbs. How long was I out?

She heard voices in the main room so she quickly looked around for something to wear, noticing she was only in underwear. She found what looked like a PJ dress and slipped it on, it falling to just above her knees. She listened to the voices for another second before slowly creaking the door open.

Lin, Aogaru, Zeniba, No-Face, and Haku all sat at a dining room table that was piled with food. Chihiro felt her mouth start to water and her stomach growling. No-Face was the first to notice and began exclaiming in excitement when he saw his best friend.

Chihiro smiled softly, "Hey."

Zeniba jumped up and sprinted to her, inspecting her, "You're awake! We were so worried!"

Chihiro opened her mouth to respond when Haku stood and took the last bite of his bread, "You were asleep for too long, we need to get you back to the human world."

The other four all made loud protests. Chihiro was greatly saddened by the sudden announcement but nodded, "Can I eat first?"

Haku chuckled, "Of course."

Chihiro sighed in relief as Zeniba pushed her to the dining table and sat her in a chair. She didn't hesitate to start stuffing her mouth. Haku left the cabin which caused a slight twinge in her heart. The others continued their small talk, Lin mentioning how Chihiro had been asleep for a whole week which caused Chihiro to almost choke on her food.

"A whole week?! As in 7 whole days?!"

Lin nodded, "Yeah, we were getting really worried." No-Face made noises of agreement.

Zeniba gently patted Chihiro's back, "Haku won't talk, but it seems like you passed away, just for a moment. From what I could tell, the venom was what caused you to stay in a coma. Since you're awake, I assume you won't have to worry about it any longer."

"What about Nomura?" Everyone except No-Face went quiet at the human woman's next question.

After a minute Aogaeru croaked a response, "The spirit world won't ever have to worry about her in the future."

Chihiro let out a satisfied sigh and went back to eating as the others went back to small talk. It was dusk by the time Haku came back. Lin and Aogaeru got up and stretched, stating they needed to get back to the bathhouse. Chihiro took this as a sign it was time for her to leave too. She went back into the bedroom and changed into a normal t-shirt and jeans, making sure everything was in her bag. She honestly wasn't expecting it to even be there and instead forgotten, she felt her face heat up a little when everything was still there. She wiped the heat away and left the room. She gave hugs to Zeniba and No-Face, feeling like she wasn't quite ready to leave.

They didn't have long before the fairgrounds opened and Chihiro wouldn't be able to get home. She honestly wanted to stay another night but Haku insisted; she decided there was no point arguing.

Haku dropped Lin and Aogaeru at the bathhouse before he and Chihiro walked through the buildings and to the field. The walk was silent, neither of them knew what to say. They stood on the last step, looking for the field. A gentle breeze carried the smell of thousands of flowers.

Chihiro glanced over to Haku who had already been watching her face. Pink brushed her cheeks and he cleared his throat. He looked like he was going to speak but Chihiro interrupted, "Are you going to make me forget again?" Haku remained quiet and Chihiro felt a tear fall down her cheek, "I really don't want to."

Haku hesitated before pulling Chihiro close, forcing her to turn so their lips met. They stayed like that for a long minute, the rest of the world disappearing. Haku eventually broke the contact but continued to hold the woman close and rested his head on her shoulder, "Last time… I thought it would be better if you were completely cut off from this world." He paused for a second, "I've learned that what I did when you were a child made that impossible."

Chihiro quietly murmured, "Does that mean I can come back?"

Haku went silent for way too long of a moment before responding, "I don't know. I do know that we'll see each other again soon, but…"

Chihiro frowned and stepped back, breaking the hug, "I have to lose my memories anyway."

Haku nodded, his gaze falling to the ground, "I don't have complete control over that. I also need to find a way to safely return them while still in the human world."

Chihiro sighed, "Fine, but I still haven't decided whether I forgive you for last time; so don't fuck this up."

He let out a chuckle and nodded again, "I won't make you wait long."

The sound of water hitting the stone caused them both to jump a little. Chihiro turned towards the field, "I'll see you soon, then."

Haku hugged her from behind for a moment before stepping back, "You will."

She didn't turn back around and rushed across the field, the wind growing colder. She glanced back to wave at Haku who hadn't moved before pushing open the doors to the abandoned train station and stumbling inside.
