Chapter 3
The Witches Find Their New Member
As the morning sun rosed at seven-thirty, the gang got up and got dressed. They made their way to the dining room and had their breakfast.
"Like is British food great or what Scoob?" Shaggy said as he picked up an egg with his folk.
"Rasty." Scooby said with a mouth full of sausages.
"Scooby don't talk with your mouth full." Velma said in a yawn. Her eyes had grey bags under her eyes.
"Velma, you look like you didn't get a wink of sleep last night." Daphne said.
"You two do know that our rooms are right next to each, right." Velma said, glaring at Fred and Daphne.
"You um hear us last?" Fred asked in embarrassment.
"I did." Velma said.
"Sorry about that." Daphne said in a tone that was a mix of guilt and embarrassment.
"What did you hear?" Shaggy asked in confusion.
"Remember the birds and the bees?" Velma said raising an eyebrow. Shaggy and Scooby realized what she meant.
"Rurprised rhe rhole rountry ridn't rear rt." Scooby said causing Fred and Daphne to look down in embarrassment before they continued their breakfast.
After they had finished their meal the gang went to see Shaggy's uncle and aunt with Velma trying her hardest to stay awake. They met the elderly couple outside a small. With the two elders was their cat.
"Morning Uncle Casey, morning Auntie Mindy." Shaggy said to his relatives.
"Morning Shaggy." Casey said.
"So what the plan for the day?" Velma asked trying her best not to yawn.
"Velma are you ok?" Mindy asked.
"I'm fine I just didn't get much sleep last night." Velma said.
"I could get you a coffee if you want?" Casey said.
"It's ok I'll be fine." Velma said.
Whilst the gang talked to each other, Scooby and the cat glared at each other. Scooby had promised not to the feline, although he still didn't like the cat, who felt the same way. The feline then let out a small hiss at the dog.
"Pete, remember what we talked about you and Scooby trying to get along." the elderly woman said.
"Pures, Purandy." the cat said.
"So shall we get going?" Fred asked.
"We shall." Casey said.
They got into their respective vehicles and drove off to the center of the town to go site seeing. Once they had parked their vehicles, they got out and looked around the town.
Nearby the witches were looking around for a woman to make their newest member. They had used their magic to make themselves look like normal humans so they walk around in. Victoria's human disguise gave her white skin, neat but dark brown hair, a normal chin, small nails, and a large but short nose no warts. Her items of clothing, whilst still black was now a black dress and a white cloth headband.
Mary's disguise gave her white skin, well-kept brown hair, a large inward chin, small nails, and a large nose with a single wart. Her clothing was now a dark gray shirt with a dark red skirt and a small grey hat. Even in her disguise, she was still unbelievably ugly.
Elvina's human disguise gave her white skin, well-kept black hair, a small button nose with no wart, a small inward chin, and small nails. Her clothing was a blue top and a grey skirt. She liked her new appearance and wished she could stay this way forever.
As the three walked through the town they came to the fountain where by coincidence was where the gang was at. The witches stopped to spy on the group and see if any of the women would make a suitable witch.
"What her?" Mary asked, pointing to Mindy, who was petting a Pete.
"Too old, she'll never remember the spells." Victoria said. "Maybe that one?" she said pointing to Velma.
"She looks like she'll be too smart for us." Mary said.
"Are you saying that there are mortals that are too smart for me to manipulate?" Victoria said in an angry voice.
"Maybe." Mary said.
As the two bickered Elvina continued to watch and noticed another woman walking towards them. Knowing how her sisters hated when she interrupted their fights she decided to talk to the woman so that she wouldn't get too close and discover that she, Victoria, and Mary were witches.
"Excuse me I'm looking for the library could you please give me directions?" Elvina asked the woman, who wore a light blue dress, had fiery red hair, and had an hourglass figure. In her human disguise, her voice was smooth and slightly lower.
"Sure, just go left of this fountain, then once you get to the Barkey down there turn left and you should be there." the woman said.
"Thank you, Ms. um"
" Helena, Holly Helena." the woman said.
"Thank you Holly." Elvina said.
"You're welcome." Holly said before she continued her walk.
Elvina gave a nervous look. If her theory was correct then the woman she had just spoken to was the descendent of the sorceress that had turned her into stone. She went back to the other witches to tell them as she did Tim came to the fountain. He was out getting some punkins for the festival. He saw Velma and the gang and decided to go talk to them
Velma could barely keep her eyes open and after several blinks, she fell asleep standing up.
"Hello, again Velma." Tim said to the woman in orange, causing her to scream as she awoke.
"Sorry, sorry I didn't mean to scare you." he said.
"No it ok, I didn't get much sleep last night and I'm having trouble staying awake." Velma said in embarrassment.
"I see." Tim said. "So are you going to introduce me to your friends?" Tim asked.
"Oh yes, this is Shaggy, Scooby, Casey, Mindy, Pete, Fred, and Daphne." Velma said.
"It's a pleasure to meet all of you. My name is Tim Roald" Tim said.
"Well, it's very nice to meet you Mr. Roald" the man wearing a white shirt with a blue strip said.
"So I take it you all here for the festival?" Tim asked.
"Like sure are speaking of which what will on the mean?" Shaggy said.
"Chicken with Yorkshire puddings and mash potatoes, pumpkin pie, and chocolate cake." Tim said.
"Rounds rummy." Scooby said licking his lips at thought of the feast causing Pete to roll his eyes.
"Well I love to stay and chat but I've got to get back to the festival to carve these pumpkins." Tim said.
"It was nice to see you again Tim." Velma said.
"It was nice to you again to Velma." Tim said as he left.
"Shall we continue to our next stop?" Mindy asked.
"Lead the way, Aunt Mindy." Shaggy said. Then they began to walk to the next site. Daphne turned seeing that Velma had fallen asleep again. Daphne went to wake her up.
Meanwhile, Elvina had finished telling Victoria and Mary about Holly, the information made the former very angry.
"That just great." Victoria said gritting her teeth.
"And we're still no closer to finding our new witch." Mary said.
Just before Elvina could say anything they heard Daphne wake Velma.
"You really are tired today." Daphne said with a small chuckle.
"All thanks to you." Velma said in a bitter tone.
"I said I was sorry." Daphne said in a genuine tone.
"I can see why they always cover your mouth." Velma said.
"What do mean?" Daphne asked.
"Because if they didn't you would scream loud enough for everyone in the area to hear. Not that we need you to scream to know that you had been kidnapped." Velma said in frustration.
"I'm not all being kidnapped." the woman in purple said in an equally frustrated tone.
"Oh please, you get kidnapped some many times that they make it a category for a game show." Velma said.
Daphne would have made a counterargument but Fred called to them to catch up.
The two began to walk back to the group, not speaking to each other unbeknownst to the two of them the witches had been listening to their argument. Victoria and Mary smirked whilst Elvina looked worried at what they had in mind.
"We've found our new witch." Victoria said in a cold, gleeful tone.
