Chapter 6
Chaos at the Festival
Back at the festival, Velma, Tim, Shaggy and Scooby had just finished telling Fred about what Velma had told Tim about Daphne being kidnapped so often and Daphne's outburst at them when she found out.
"What were you think?" Fred asked Velma in frustration.
"I didn't to make her upset?" Velma said.
"Did it occurred to you that she didn't like being called Danger-Prone Daphne so much?" the blonde asked.
"Like we only meant it as a joke." Shaggy said.
"Reah, roke." Scooby said.
Fred put two his head and shook in disappointment with a small groan. The others looked down in guilt for what they did as he did so.
"I'm going back to the motel to make sure she's ok." Fred said. Then he turned and began to walk back to the motel. The remaining three members of the gang looked at each other.
"Re really rid ro ro rar rith reasing rer." Scooby said with guilt in his voice.
"Like you said Scoob." Shaggy said in an equally guilty tone.
Suddenly a high pitched cackle filled the air causing Shaggy and Scooby to hold each other in fear as they shivered. All around the festival ground, people looked up to see where the noise had come from.
"What was that?" Tim asked in confusion.
"It sounded like a witch?" Velma said, puzzled.
"Congratulations, you guess it correctly Velma." a scratchy voice said.
The four of looked up to see a witch riding on a broom. As the green skinned flew down towards them, they saw that she had orange hair. As they looked closer they began to recognizes the face and gasped in horror.
"Raphne?" Scooby said in shock.
"Thank goodness you still recognized me." Daphne said in a mocking tone, with her left hand on her chest. "I was worried that my new looks won't let see it was me."
"L-l-l-lik-li-like y-y-y-yo-your a w-w-wi-wit-wit-witch." Shaggy stuttered in fear.
"But that's impossible." Tim said.
"Not the sharpest knife in the draw are we?" Daphne said to the man.
Velma looked at her friend trying to see if there was anything that would be a logical explanation for this, such as wires or a small pair of rockets that were making the broom fly and hover.
"Is something wrong Velma?" Daphne asked rhetorically.
Velma stepped closer to Daphne. "I'm just trying to figure out what making the broom fly." the woman in orange said.
The witch cackled at this, causing Velma to give a confused and scared look. "Ah, isn't that sweet. You think this is all fake." Daphne said in amusement. "I bet you don't think I'm a real witch."
"Well you might be wearing really good makeup." Velma said nervously as she began to believe that her friend was truly a wicked witch.
A horrifying smirk appeared on Daphne's face. "How about I clear it up for you."
Suddenly the witch grabbed Velma flew up into the air. She stopped once the where quite high up. All around people looked up at the sight that was happening.
"What in the world?" Casey asked as he, Mindy and Pete reached the top of the ferries wheel.
"Is that Daphne?" Mindy asked in confusion as she looked at the witch.
Velma looked down in fear. Then she looked back to her friend.
"Ok Daphne, I believe you. Your a real witch. Now please put down." She asked sweating in fear.
Daphne smiled wickedly at the scared woman as a truly horrible idea came to her.
"You think I'm loud? How about we see how loud you are?" the witch said.
Velma's eyes widened as she realized what Daphne was going to do. Velma shock her head but the witch let go and Velma fell to the ground, screaming. Tim run over to catch her just in time.
"Thanks." Velma said catching her breath.
"Don't mention it." Tim said.
Meanwhile Fred had heard the scream and ran back to see what had happened.
The witch flew down to Shaggy and Scooby, who were still cowering in fear at the sight of their friend turned witch.
"Please, Daphne, don't hurt us." Shaggy begged.
"Re're rorry ror rhat re raid rarlier." Scooby said.
"It's a little too late for apologies." the witch said. "It's time you two got what's coming to you."
"Like, what are you going to do to us?" Shaggy said in
"You know you two have a real eating problem. Let me help you with it." Daphne said. Then she casted a spell on the two.
The cowardly duo shut their eyes as the magic hit them. Once the spell was complete the man and his dog opened their eyes. They looked at each other, seeing that they looked the same and they felt the same.
"Rhat rid rou ro ro rs?" Scooby asked nervously.
"Why don't you pick up some cotton candy and find out." Daphne said.
Shaggy picked up some and it disintegrated into dust. He picked up another and it two became dust. Scooby then tried and the results where the same.
"Like, what..." Shaggy said.
"Now you two shall never again be able to eat mortal food." Daphne said in a cold, wicked tone.
"But that means." Shaggy said in a worried voice.
"Re'll rtarve ro reath." Scooby said in horror. Then they held each other and cried.
"What's going on here?" a voice said.
Daphne turned around to see who had spoke. It was Fred. She flew over to him and smiled.
"Hello Freddy." she said with smile that was a mix of wicked and loving.
Fred was shocked by what was in front of him. "Daphne? What wanted to you?" He asked.
"What do you think happened?" she said.
"Your a witch." he said in horror.
"Indeed I am." the green skin woman said.
"Rred re rareful!" Scooby said.
"She caused me and Scoob to never be able to eat again and she almost killed Velma." Shaggy add.
"What?" Fred asked.
Before anyone could answer him, Daphne grabbed him and used her magic to tie him up with some rope.
"Fred!" Velma, Shaggy and Scooby shouted.
"What are doing?" Fred asked.
"I think it's time for someone to be the one who has be rescued." Daphne said then she flew off with Fred on her broom.
Tim, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby looked toward the direction that the witch was flying in. Wondering what they could do to save Fred and turn Daphne back to normal.
