Chapter 2

Next in Line

As the fairies put Aurora to bed, Maleficent waited in the shadows to commit the next phase of her plan, with her was her pet crow, Diablo. When Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather left to put the kingdom into eternal sleep until true love's kiss free the princess from the curse, Maleficent began the next part of her plan.

"Awaken princess." she said as a orb on her staff glowed.

Aurora awoke, once again her eyes fixate on the green glow. She got out of bed and walk towards it. Maleficent smiled please on how things were going. Just as Aurora reach the staff Maleficent walked backwards and the two of them disappeared thought the wall in a secret room.

Once they were far enough the glow stopped and Aurora looked around. The room had little light in it and the only object in it was a tall mirror.

"Who are you? Where am I?" Aurora asked in confusion.

"I am Maleficent and this is the place were you turn in to the perfect heir to the throne." Maleficent said.

"What do you mean?" the blonde asked.

"All will become clear in time my dear." Maleficent said. Then the orb glowed softly. "Tell my princess do you find this glow is call you?"

"Yes, I do." Aurora said.

"Good. That means you are ready." Maleficent said.

"Ready for what?" asked Aurora.

"To become my successor." Maleficent said.

"Successor?" Aurora said in confusion.

"You will be the new mistress of all evil." Maleficent said.

"But I don't want to be mistress of evil." Aurora said.

"I thought you might say this." Maleficent said. "Still one can't run from their destiny."

"But that's not my destiny." Aurora protested.

"You're right it isn't. You true place is to become queen of your kingdom and to never see Philip again." Maleficent said.

Aurora looked at green-skinned woman with surprise. Maleficent smirk as she started the next part of her plan. She needed to make the princes feel a little hatred towards others before she make her the next mistress of evil.

"It's a shame you'll never get to be him after all a princess can only marry a prince." Maleficent said.

Tears formed in Aurora's eyes. "Why did have to be a princess?" she said in a sad tone.

"There, there it's not your fault for not knowing. After all if your aunts hadn't have kept it a secret from you, then you wouldn't be in this situation." Maleficent said.

"Why didn't they tell me I was a princess?" Aurora said with a small hint of bitterness. Maleficent was please she had gotten Aurora to except the hatred in her heart. It was only a little but just enough for Aurora to become the new mistress of all evil.

"I'm not sure." Maleficent said. "Maybe they didn't want you to become your true self."

"My true self?" Aurora asked.

"Let me show." Maleficent said bring her staff to Aurora's face as the orb glowed again but this time worked it's magic on the princess.

Aurora looked at the orb as it glowed. As she did so her thoughts changed to that of wickedness, cruelty and hatred whilst her heart became twisted and unkind as the magic spread the evil through her and removed all forms of kindness and love. Her skin turn pale green, her fingernails turned cherry red, her clothing became black and her crown turned black and had sharper points. Her hair was the only thing to stay the same.

Once the transformation was complete, the orb stopped glowing.

"Came to the mirror princess." Maleficent said. Aurora walk to mirror and stop just in front of it.

"Now be hold what you are meant to be." Maleficent said.

Aurora saw her new self and smiled wickedly. She was no longer a sweet loving princess, but a cruel sorceress who had dark magic. Magic to take revenge on all who had done her wrong.

"Now tell me Aurora, would you like to be my successor?" Maleficent asked.

"I do." Aurora said with a wicked smile and calm evil tone as she turned to face the older woman.

Maleficent smiled her plan was complete she had made King Stefan's daughter her successor. She now had someone to continue her legacy for when she died. Little did she now that would be sooner then later.
