She knew what she was doing was foolish. Why bargain with the devil? But she needed to make sure that Bonnie was okay. She needed to know that Bonnie was safe in all of this. She straightened her back and walked towards the door. Shiela needed to know that Bonnie was safe and protected. She needed to make sure of that.

Before she could even knock on the door, it opened and Klaus stepped out with a grin on his face. "Hello Ms. Bennett. I've been wondering when you would grace my door."

Shiela sniffed an raised her head high. She was doing this for Bonnie. She was doing this for Bonnie. Shiela walked into the house and looked all around the room. The house was immaculate. White and black tiles shone on the floor and a bouquet of flowers bloomed from a table in the center of the foyer. Shiela sighed and took off her coat Klaus was behind her in a moment and grabbed her coat.

"You know your ancestors are probably screaming at you for being here," Klaus joked hanging her coat in a closet. Shiela nodded.

"They are screaming at me. I can feel them rolling in their graves right now, but I have to do this," Shiela said.

"Ah yes, the little Bennett witch that has apprenticed under my brother. You are worried about her," Klaus said with a grin.

"I want Kol to stay away from her."

"You know I do not control my siblings. They do as they please. I can only suggest what they should and should not do."

"Cut the bullshit Klaus. I know that you can control your siblings. Get Kol to stay away from Bonnie."

Klaus held up his hands. "Such coarse language. What would your granddaughter think of this."

"I don't know. She is currently off galavanting with your brother. I want whatever it is that is happening between them to stop right now."

"How you ever considered that this is your fault that you caused this?"

"How could this possibly be my fault."

"Well you are the one that tried to refuse her her magic, her birthright. In a way I empathize with Bonnie. Being denied what is rightfully yours can cause strain on a relationship."

Shiela remembered the way that Bonnie begged for her to teach her magic. She remembered the fight that they had and the way that Bonnie tried to extend the olive branch and try to make something work. It was too late now. Magic was dangerous and there was no way that she was going to let Bonnie dabble in magic. Not after what happened to her mother.

Shiela shook her head. "This is not my fault. I am only protecting Bonnie. She doesn't know what she is doing. She needs me to protect her. And I want to make sure that she had nothing to do with you."

Klaus raised his eyebrows but the smile on his face never wavered. He walked into the formal living room and Shiela followed after him. The formal living room was a lush place with furniture that looked overstuffed and soft with velvet finishings. Klaus made his way over to a bar cart that was sitting in the room and poured himself a generous helping of brandy. He offered some to Shiela but she shook her head.

Klaus collapsed into a love seat and Shiela perched herself on a chair across from him. Klaus took a sip of his drink.

"You think that I control Kol. Well I can try but he has always been a bit of a wild card," Klaus said.

"I want him out of the picture," Shiela said.

"Out of the picture in what way?"

"I know you have the daggers. Use one of them on Kol for however long you will be staying here and then release him when you're done here."

Klaus raised his eyebrows at that. "You want me to dagger one of my siblings?"

"Yes."

"It has been a while since I have found use for the dagger. Centuries really. I haven't found need of the daggers since my father was killed."

"Well I want you to use one of them now."

"Well that depends. What do you plan on offering me in exchange."

Shiela sucked in a deep breath. What could she possibly offer him that he could not compel himself. She sighed as she thought of something.

"For your ritual, the sun and moon ritual, I will help you," Shiela said.

Klaus's face stretched out into a full blown smile. "Ah, so it appears that you have done your research."

"I know that in order for you to complete the curse you have to kill Elena Gilbert. I will help you with obtaining her as long as you keep Kol away from Bonnie." Shiela said. Her stomach was twisting. Helping a vampire was one thing but helping on Original obtain his goal was something else. And Elena. She could hardly think about what she was saying. Elena had always been a friend to Bonnie. She had slept over at Shiela's house and she had played with Bonnie when no one else would. The two of them were as thick as thieves. To kill her was something that she could not stomach.

Shiela played with her hands. She needed to do this. To keep Bonnie safe and away from magic. She needed to do this. For Bonnie.

Klaus nodded his head. "You know, I already had a witch in place for this plan, but I do so love the poetry of having one of the Bennett witches helping me out."

Shiela shifted in her seat. She could feel the costs of her ancestors poking and prodding at her. They were upset she knew. They were angry, screaming at her for what she was about to do. Shiela nodded her head.

"Well?" she asked.

Klaus nodded his head and then smiled at Shiela. "I will take you up on this offer. I think the Original Witch would be so happy to see that one of the most powerful lines of witches is helping me in fixing her mistake."

Shiela rose from her chair and nodded. "Just tell me the time and the place and I'll be there." Klaus nodded his head and escorted her out the door. With her coat in her arms, Shiela slid into her car and turned it on.

She was doing this for Bonnie. She was doing this for Bonnie. She had to. To keep her safe.

His heart was beating in his chest. He knew that it was a figure of speech for him, but he could not help but feel as though his heart was truly beating. Klaus had told him that they no longer needed the little Bennett with any longer since her senior had decided to help them.

He knew that it was his sign to stay away, that he no longer needed to groom Bonnie into the witch that they needed, but something about the woman was so intoxicating. She was fun to be around. She was light and snarky. A combination that would have been dreadful on anyone else, but it worked perfectly for her. She knew how to keep him on his toes and made everyday so much fun for him.

Kol liked being around Bonnie. She was a witch that had yet to grow into her own power and yet she captivated him so easily. He had more fun with her than he ever did traveling the world and holding conversation with more seasoned witches.

The car pulled up to Bonnie's house and Kol cut the engine. The house was smaller than some of the homes that he stayed in in the past. It was cute though with its blue shutters and white paint. Kol walked dup the steps to the house and knocked on the door.

He could hear Bonnie's heartbeat somewhere in the house and it stuttered a bit when the door opened. She smiled when she saw him. "Hi," she breathed.

"Hello darling," Kol said. He offered her his elbow and she took it, closing the door behind her. The two of them walked over to his car (and he made sure to pick the nicest one) and slid inside.

"So where are you taking me?" Bonnie asked as she buckled her seatbelt. She was wearing something warm and cute to go with the fall weather. She was wearing a cute red sweater dress that stopped just below her knees. She was wearing black sheer stockings that Kol wanted to rip off of her. She looked cute and he wanted to take a bite out of her.

Her heart was thumping in her chest and Kol wanted to see if he could make it beat faster. He pulled the car out onto the street and began their drive. They spot lightly about things. Kol told her of all the places that he had traveled to and regaled her with stories of his adventures and the witches that he had met.

"Marie Leveau was just as amazing as you would think. Her strain of magic was volatile, voodoo always is, but she was a master at working it. She could predict the weather and influence people. She was a very powerful witch!" Kol said. Bonnie looked at him with stars in her eyes.

Kol felt powerful when he spoke to Bonnie, like he could take on the world and make it his. He had never felt so emboldened when speaking to other witches. He had spoken to novice witches before, but they had never made him feel this way. They had never made him feel like he hung the stars in the sky.

"What is voodoo like?" Bonnie asked.

"Now that darling is something that I would not know. Voodoo is a closed practice you see. Only passed down between the families. But I do know a couple things about it. I know that they have these things called loas that help them preform their magic. These loas are specialized for things," Kol said as he maneuvered through the traffic.

"Wow," Bonnie breathed. "I want to do all types of magic once I finally get this degree. Can you imagine all the magic that is out there?" At some point Kol's hand had made it onto Bonnie's knee. He did not try to slide it higher in fear that she would reject his touch, but it stayed there without moving.

"I've seen a lot of it darling. Some of it is good and some of it can be very harmful so you need to be careful."

"Of course I will be careful! I just want to become the best witch that I can possibly be. I want to know every type of magic that is out there. I want to be a witch like Marie Leveau."

Kol smiled. He liked that about her, he realized. He liked that she was so passionate about magic and wanted to know everything that she could about it. It reminded him of himself when he was a young warlock.

They arrived at a swanky hotel in Richmond and Kol opened the car door for Bonnie. She climbed out of the car and looked at the hotel with her eyes wide. Kol grabbed her hand and escorted her into the hotel. The hotel was golden and gleaming when they entered and Bonnie shifted a little when they entered.

"I think I'm under dressed," she whispered to Kol. He smiled down at her.

"You are perfect the way you are darling," Kol answered.

They took the golden elevator up and entered into a dining area that was dripping red. The carpet was red and there was a concierge waiting for them at the entrance of the dining hall. The concierge bowed to them both and Kol mentioned that they had a reservation under the name Mikaelson. The man nodded and took them to their seats.

"Wo," Bonnie breathed as she looked around the room. There was a chandelier hanging over a dance floor and at the back of the dance floor was a band that was softly playing jazz music. Kol's eyes brightened.

"You've never really heard jazz until you have been to New Orleans. It is so much fun there. So much to see and do. I think you would love it there." Kol said with a grin. Bonnie nodded. They ordered their food quickly.

"Kol, I know that I have asked you this before, but I want to ask you again. Why are you helping me with my magic?" Bonnie asked looking at him with searching eyes. Kol smiled and looked down at his plate. He remembered the words of his older brother. They had no more need for this Bennett witch. And yet here he was, with her and enjoying every second of it.

"I…I originally was using you. There was a spell that we needed completed and you were the prefect candidate. But now…things are different now. I have gotten to know you and I can say Bonnie that you are a wonderful person."

Bonnie frowned as she looked at him. "What was the spell that you wanted me to do?"

"It doesn't matter now. All that matters is making your magic as great as can possibly be."

"Was it the sun and moon curse?"

Kol paused. Where had she heard that. Bonnie was staring at him with blank eyes. She knew. She knew and yet she still came out on this date with him. What did that mean?

"Where did you hear that?" Kol asked.

"It doesn't matter. Was the spell that you were going to have me preform the sun and moon curse?"

Kol could feel himself begin to sweat a little. How had she known about the sun and moon curse? Who had told her? A small part of him chastised his thinking. It was foolish of him to think that she would never find out about the spell. But then again why was she so mad?

Kol looked away from her.

"I see. So you were going to have me do a spell where I would have to kill my best friend? I cannot believe you Kol." Bonnie stood from the table.

"It's not like that anymore darling. I said that all I want to do now is foster your magic." Kol reached out and grabbed her hand.

"Are you still going through with the spell?"

"Wha—"

"Are you still going through with the spell?"

Kol knew that he could not lie to her. Would not lie to her. He looked the other way.

"So you still plan on killing my best friend. After everything that we have been through together. You don't even need to walk in the sun, you have a ring!"

"It isn't for me! The spell isn't for me. It is for my brother!"

"I don't care who the hell the spell is for. You want to murder my best friend. Whatever Kol we're done."

Kol rose from the table and pulled Bonnie close. "Now darling don't be rash. There are still things that I want to teach you and show you."

Bonnie shook her hand out of his grip. "You wanted me to cast a spell that would need the death of my friend. I am over this. I am done with you."

Kol felt something dark cloud his mind. This little witch thought that she could just decide to discard him. She thought that she could turn him out when he was Kol Mikaelson. Who the hell did she think she was. He gripped her hand tighter and loomed over her.

"We are not done little witch," he said darkly. "We are not done until I say we are."

Bonnie stared into his eyes and then the pain hit. His head was burning and he could feel the blood vessels in his brain bursting. He let go of Bonnie long enough to grip his head, he hunched over as he tried to breathe through the pain. He cried out and then the pain lessened. He looked up at Bonnie who was staring down at him with a fierce look in her eyes. For a moment Kol wanted to capture this moment some how. Bonnie staring down at him looking truly like the witch that she was powerful and dominant. But then Kol sucked in another breath and the moment was over.

"I am done with you Kol," Bonnie said. "Enjoy your meal." And then she walked away.

A waiter walked over to Kol concerned but he just waved her off. Bonnie was a witch and a very powerful one at that. He felt something hot settle low in his stomach. He knew that Bonnie wanted nothing to do with him, but he wanted to continue this game that they started playing.

He was not done with Bonnie just yet.

Elijah leaned back and was pulling his hand away from her, but Katerina caught his hand and pressed a kiss to the inside of his wrist. She looked up at him from under her lashes and licked at his skin. Elijah shivered though he tried to hide it. But he knew that she had seen. She was better at reading him than anyone. Even his own family who thought him stalwart and cold sometimes.

"You do know that we are in front of people," he said to her. She only smiled and grabbed a cigar from the box that sat between them.

"That is what makes it so much fun to tease you," Katerina said. Elijah leaned back and grabbed a cigar. He pulled a lighter out of his pocket and lit the cigar. Katerina leaned close and he lit her own. He took a puff of the cigar, feeling the tingle of the nicotine settle his systems.

He breathed out. There was something special about Katerina. When he was with her he felt so much lighter. Like the smoke that was escaping his mouth. He just wished that she was not on Klaus's hit list. That woulds make being with her so much easier.

Katerina let the smoke roll off her lips and settled into her seat, the red of her Louboutins gleaming in the firelight.

"Is everything ready?" Elijah asked.

"Everything is in place. Shiela and Stefan are on their most protective."

"It appears that Shiela has other plans because she offered her services to Klaus." Katerina raised a brow at that and took another puff from her cigar. Elijah watched as the cogs in her brain were working. There was something tantalizing about watching Katerina work. She was methodical and did everything with precision. She would have accounted for Shiela's betrayal and had a plan to counter act that.

"She is going to change her mind," Katerina said after a few moments.

Elijah tilted his head. "And what makes you so sure?"

"She watched Elena grow up. She hosted her at Bonnie's birthday parties and watched the two grow up together. It would be odd of her to suddenly grow a heart of steel all just because her granddaughter is dabbling in magic. No, she is going to have a change of heart. It might now be now but the night of the ritual she is going to second guess herself."

"Fair. And what do you propose we do?"

"Let her change her mind. I have any Bennett witch that we can use. Klaus can get what he wants and then I will run off scot free."

Elijah wanted that to be true. That all the running around and the planning had finally meant something. He wanted her to be free so that they could be done with all this sneaking around and moonlighting. He wanted to be with her out in the day time and not under the cover of darkness. His brother would be sensible. Klaus had to be.

"I hope you are right," he said with a sigh of smoke. His brother had to see the sense. Katerina smiled at him.

"He will. Besides we are the ones who set up everything for this to go perfectly. He will have to see reason then. And then…" She leaned close and Elijah matched her. They pressed their foreheads together and they just breathed in each other's breath. Elijah closed his eyes.

From behind his lids he could see those moments in Prague when they came up with this crazy plan. That moment when the lights went off in Katerina's eyes as she spouted the plan that would allow for them to be together. The plan for their happiness.

"You know I love you Katerina," he breathed to her. She did not say it back. Elijah didn't expect her too. When she was free and they could be together, that was when she was going to say it back. But now she was a woman wanted.

Katerina pulled away first and Elijah felt the cool air greet his forehead. He opened his eyes and settled back into his seat. He took another puff of his cigar and then the smoke roll from his lips.

"I will call my witch to make sure that she is here by the time the ritual is going to take place," Katerina said pulling out her phone. Elijah nodded his head and then pulled out his own phone.

He scrolled through his calendar and looked at when the next full moon was. It was marked on his calendar with big exclamations points that were red. He think they were called emojis. He sighed. It was probably Kol going through his phone again.

"Make sure she is here around the twentieth of this month," he said to her. She nodded her head and pressed a button on her phone. She rose from the bar and spoke in a bright tone.

"Lucy? Hey Lucy, listen I have a favor to ask you…" She walked out the bar, speaking in that tone as men's eyes watched her as she exited the room. Elijah took another pull from his cigar.

Soon, he reassured himself.

Soon.
