Chapter 7

Confession

Kara arrived at the door she hesitated to knock, she was about to put her friendship with Barbara on the line by telling her that she had a crush on her. She took a deep breath and exhaled.

"Just remember that she'll still be your friend." Kara said to herself then she knocked on the door. Barbara opened the door, the redhead was wearing blue jeans and a blue top which showed a small bit of her cleavage.

"Oh hi, Kara." Barbara said a bit surprised. "What are you doing Gotham?"

"I just wanted to come over for a surprise visit." Kara said, trying her best to keep her eyes off her crush's cleavage.

"Well, it's to see you." Barbara said. Kara entered the apartment and she and Barbara went over to the sofer and took their seats.

"Can I get you anything? Coffee? Tea?" Barbara asked her best friend.

"Um, coffee please." Kara said.

Barbara got up and went to the kitchen. Kara watch, trying to think how to tell her. She watched Barbara with a small smile as she looked at the beautiful woman in black knickers and... Kara then realized that she was looking at Barbara with her x-ray vision to look at the redhead in her underwear. She stop herself just a Barbara turned around and walked back to the sofer with two cups of coffee.

"So, how was your day?" Barbara asked as she took her seat and handed Kara her cup of coffee.

"It was good, about the same as usual." Kara said taking off her glass and placing them on the table. "What about your's?" Kara asked.

"Ruff to say the least." Barbara said. She went into detail about it. As Kara listened she caught sight of Babara's chest rising and falling as the redhead breathed. She couldn't help staring at Barbara's chest, although she could still every word Barbara was saying.

"Wow, that does sound like you had a ruff." Kara said, looking up to meet Barbara in the eyes.

"Yeah, but at least I got a nice surprise at the end of it." Barbara said with a smile.

Kara returned the smile with her own. Then she drank some of her coffee. As she did, Barbara looked at her friend with a smile but then it faded and the redhead let a small sad sign.

"Is something wrong?" Kara asked.

"Oh um, no I'm just tired." Barbara said.

"Well, you better not be tomorrow after all it's your first day in League." Kara said.

"I know, I still can't believe it. I get to be part of the greatest team in history, maybe see the world." Barbara said in a joyful tone.

"And you get to fight with Metropolis' number one hero." Kara said.

"Yep, I get to work with Superman." Barbara said in a teasy tone.

"Haha, very funny." Kara said in a sarcastic tone.

"I remember when you did that joke on me." Barbara said before taking a sip of her coffee.

"The night we first met." Kara said as she began to think back to that night when she met Barbara. It had occurred to her that during their sleepover she had been looking at Barbara's ass once or twice during their pillow fight.

Barbara began to think back to that evening, as she did a small blush appeared on her cheeks.

"What are you thinking about?" Kara asked.

"My crush." Barbara said in a lovestruck voice, then her eyes widen when she realized what she had just said.

"Can you tell to about them?" Kara asked, taking Barbara by surprise.

"Yesterday you didn't that interested in love, what's made you change your mind?" Barbara asked in confusion.

"I just want to know in case it's someone untrustworthy." Kara said. Although it wasn't the main reason there was some truth to it, she didn't want her best friend to be dating someone who would mistreat her.

"Oh, they trustworthy." Barbara said. "In fact, they're the most wonderful person I have met." Barbara said in a loving but slightly sorrowful tone.

"Who is it?" Kara asked.

"I told you it's a secret." Barbara said then she finished her coffee.

"Come on please." Kara asked.

Barbara raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Ok Kara no one goes from not being interested in romances to suddenly asking who's someone is in love with. So what's going on?" the redhead asked.

Kara hesitated for a second. She knew that this was the moment to tell her but it still scared her nonetheless. She exhaled a little before she spoke. "Ok Babara, the thing is..." before she could get any further, Barbara noticed the time on the clock.

"Oh god, I'm late." Barbara said getting up off the sofer to get changed into her batgirl outfit. Kara quickly finished her coffee and quickly joined Barbara in the redhead's bedroom.

"Would you like me to help you tonight?" Kara asked.

"You're more than welcome to." Barbara said as she got her batsuit out.

The two quickly got changed into their superhero outfits, with Kara trying her best to keep her eyes off of Barbara.

Once they had finished, they got out onto the rooftop. Supergirl flew up and took a look around the city. The sky was now full of dark grey clouds. Barbara looked at Kara with a smile.

"Beautiful view." the redhead said to herself.

"Yeah, It sure is a great city." Kara said before she came down.

"Oh yeah, great city." Barbara said rubbing her yellow boots. "See anything." she asked.

"Nothing out of the ordinary." Kara said.

They began to walk keeping their eyes out for any suspicious behavior. As they walked across the rooftops, Barbara looked at Kara and smiled, then the blonde spoke.

"By the way, how's dad?" Kara asked.

"He's fine. He's on duty for the whole night, so he won't be back until morning." Barbara said.

"Is he sure he can trust you to be on your?" Kara joked, causing the redhead to roll her eyes with a smile.

"So what is it you were going to tell me?" Barbara asked.

Kara looked at her and began. "I was going to tell that..."

Just then Barbara got a call from Batman. She listened carefully and told him that Supergirl was with her. Then turned back to Kara.

"What is it?" Kara asked.

"There's been reports of Acme chemical waste being dumped in a river. Bruce wants us to put a stop to it and see if Harley and Ivy will be there to try and stop them." Barbara said.

"So where is it?" Kara asked.

"It's the river near the docks." Barbara said. "Do you think you could fly us there?" the redhead asked.

"You don't ask." Kara said.

"Just like old times." Barbara said.

"You know, I've been looking forward to a rematch." Kara said.

"Same here." Barbara said.

The two flew off with Barbara riding on Kara's back. The woman in black held her arms out in front of her with her eyes closed and a smile. She always loved it when she got the chance to fly, with the breeze on her face and the wind in her hair.

As they flew under the night sky Kara began to doubt about telling Barbara her feelings for her.

Meanwhile, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn had arrived at the docks near the river. They hid behind a building, making sure that no one would spot them. As Ivy checked to make sure that the coast was clear, Harley took the opportunity to look at Pamela's breast. The woman in the red and black jester's outfit and white makeup coving her face, looked at the love of her life with a loving smile, she had never met anyone like Ivy and she wished she tell her about her feelings for her.

Ivy turned around, with Harley pretending she hadn't been looking at her cleavage. Ivy took out a dart and loaded it into her crossbow.

"Isn't that the new you been working on?" Harley asked.

"It is." Ivy said.

"You have tested it to make sure that doesn't kill anyone, right?" Harley asked.

Ivy's eyes darted to the side. As Harley got to her answer the queen of the plants gave a guilty look.

"Ivy you promised." Harley said.

"I know but if I don't use it now then this river will be history." Pamela said.

"But what if we kill someone?" Harley asked nervously.

"Well if someone does get killed then it will be for a good course." Ivy said sternly.

Harley crossover her arms and stared at Ivy with a cross face. Ivy let out a frustrated groan.

"Fine, I promise that I'll try not to kill anyone." Pamela said.

"Thanks, Pamey." Harley said hugging her only true human friend, not seeing that Pamela had her fingers crossed behind her back.

"Ok, ok. Now let's go stop this scummy operation." Ivy said as the two criminals began their plan.

Meanwhile, two workmen parked a truck that had the word Acme on its sides and had serval large cans filled with chemical waste. The two men got out of the vehicle and the job.

"Get a move on Jack." one of the workmen said to his coworker.

"Couldn't we get rid of this waste some other way, one that's less legal?" Jack asked.

"Jack we've been over this. Acme what's to get rid of this stuff as quickly and cheaply as possible." the other man said.

"But couldn't we just get rid of it some other way and just say we dumped it in the river?" Jack asked.

"They would see the bill if we did. Now stop complaining and get those barrows out of the truck and I don't another word about other options." Jack's co-worker ordered.

"Yes, Stu." Jack said.

The two began to unload some of the dark grey barrows and took one each to the end of the dock.

Just before they could open them, the two men saw the silhouettes of two women walking towards them.

"Looks like we've got some company if you know what I mean?" Stu said giving a sly look to his coworker.

Jack rolled his eyes and let out a groan. He was just about to say something when he began to notice that there was something familiar about one of the silhouettes. Once he realised who it was his expression turned to that of fear.

"We've got to get out of here." Jack said, turning to his co-worker.

Before Stu could ask why some weed shot out of the murky water and wrapped itself around the two men's bodies and held them hostage as the two women came into the light revealing them to be Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn.

"Well well look what we have here. Two plant murders." Ivy said in a voice that was a mix of cold and bitter.

"Please Miss Ivy we don't have any intent on doing this." Jack said in fear.

"Yeah, we were only doing our jobs. We would never do this if won't our job." Stu added.

"Oh, so money is more important than life is it?" Ivy said then a cruel smile appeared on her face just as the first drops of rain fell from the sky.

"Funny, I feel the same way." Ivy said causing Harley to give a worried look as to what her partner in crime was going to do.

The redhead turned the men towards the river and was just about to dump them in the river when suddenly a yellow object flew throw the air and cut the weeds. The two men dropped down and would have fallen into the water if not for a blue blur that had flown in to rescue.

Ivy clenched her fist as she watched the two men got away from her. She then turned around to see Harley staring at her with a cross face and her arms crossed.

"What?" Ivy asked in a cross voice.

"But you promised." Harley said angrily with her teeth gritted.

"Not now Harley." Ivy said sternly.

The men were put onto the ground as the person who had saved flew off to take care of the two criminals.

Ivy and Harley turned around to Batgirl and Supergirl.

"Well if it isn't the Bat-brat." Harley said.

"And she brought Super-brat with her." Ivy said.

"Alright Harley and Ivy, we can do the easy way or the hard way." Batgirl said in a serious tone.

"I think will do it the easy way, well our version of easy." Ivy said as Harley got out her giant hammer. Then Ivy used her powers and two water weeds shot out of the river and attacked the two heroes. Batgirl and Supergirl quickly dodged the plants and prepared to fight Ivy and Harley as the rain began to fall harder.

They charged at each other, punching and dodging each other's hits. Harley swung her hammer at Supergirl but the woman in blue caught it just before it could hit her. Harley gave a nervously chuckle just before Supergirl hit the woman in red and black, sending her skidding across the docks.

Suddenly some weed quickly wrapped around Supergirl and held in the air, she tried to free herself to no avail.

Meanwhile, Batgirl and Poison Ivy were fighting each other with the former gaining the upper hand over her opponent. She knock Ivy to the ground, she was just about to cuff her when she saw that the green woman was smirking.

"Oh Batgirl, do you really think it would be that easy?" Ivy asked rhetorically.

Batgirl looked at her in confusion, then she heard a groan and looked up to see Supergirl being held above the water.

"Your choice Batgirl, you let me and Harley go or dum-girl sleeps with the fishes." Ivy said.

Batgirl weighed her opinions. She got off Ivy and the eco-terrorists got up.

"Alright let Ivy, let her go." Batgirl said angrily.

"I would but she's got to take her swimming lessons," Ivy said coldly. Before Batgirl could react Ivy punched her, knocking her to the hard ground.

Ivy ran but Batgirl quickly got up and tackled her to the ground by grabbing her around her legs. Ivy tried her best to get Batgirl off her to no avail.

Harley meanwhile was just getting up. She had been knocked to where the two men were, still trapped in the weeds.

"Could you untie us please?" Jack asked.

"I prefer it if you tied up, after all, don't you want to watch the fun?" Harley said in a flirty tone.

Ivy seeing this let out a small jealous growl, which Batgirl assumed was amended at her.

Suddenly, Batgirl was lifted into the air by some weeds and was held above the river.

Ivy saw her chance and ran away to deal with the two workers. Meanwhile, Supergirl's weed was beginning to weaken and the blonde superhero was starting to break free from the plant.

Noticing this Harley quickly left the tied up men to deal with Supergirl, however, the rain made it harder to see and the ground had become slippy as a result.

Just before Harley could reach the weed, Supergirl broke free and flew down to meet the woman in red and black. Harley tried to reason with her but Supergirl knocked her to the ground then flew off to rescue Batgirl.

With Harley gone the two men tried two free themselves. However, Ivy caught them in the process of it.

"Hello, boys." Ivy said with a wicked grin and cold voice.

Harley got up and run to get rid of Batgirl before Supergirl could save her. However, slip and fell off the edge of the dock.

Ivy was just about to shoot the dart at the two helpless captives when she heard a scream for help. She turned her head in the direction of the sound had come from. She saw that Harley was dangled just above the murky water. The woman in white makeup had just managed to grab the edge of the dock.

Ivy looked back at the men and then towards Harley. Ivy ran to the edge of the dock to save Harley.

Harley's fingers slip, she looks down at the river and held herself higher. Soon she lost her grip and fell, thankfully Ivy grabbed her just in time and pulled her up.

"Are you alright?" Ivy asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Harley said.

Whilst this was happening, Supergirl had just broken Batgirl free from the weed and held her in the air.

"Thanks." Batgirl said.

"Don't mention it." Supergirl

Neither of them were aware that Ivy had her crossbow amended at them. Just before she could fire it, Batgirl noticed what she was doing.

"Look out!" Batgirl shouted.

Supergirl looked down and saw Ivy just as the dart flew towards them. She just managed to dodge it and the dart hit the stone floor, breaking upon impact.

"Dam it, that was my only one." Ivy said.

"Ivy let's go before they take us to the cops." Harley said.

"Good idea." Ivy said.

The two began to run when suddenly Supergirl flew down in front of them and flew down in front of them. They turned to run the other way only to see Batgirl standing in front of them.

"It's over two." Batgirl said.

"Oh it is, but not the way you think." Ivy said with a smirk. Then she dropped some small gas bombs. They hit the ground, creating a large dust cloud.

Batgirl and Supergirl caught as Harley and Ivy made their getaway. Luckily for the two heroes, the bombs contented non-toxic dust but they had lost sight of the two criminals.

They made their way to where the two men were. The two men looked up to see Supergirl and Batgirl standing next to them with the former having her arm crossed and the latter having her right hand on her hip. Both women gave the men a cold stare.

"You two got a lot of explaining to do." Supergirl said.

The Stu and Jack looked down in shame.

Later, the police arrived and Batgirl and Supergirl explained everything that had happened. The two men were put into a police van and the truck was towed away to a place where the waste could be disposed of properly.

"We'll keep an eye out for those two." an officer told them.

"Thanks." Batgirl said.

The two heroes left the docks. It was too late to find where Harley and Ivy had gone and no one knew where their hideout was. With that Batgirl and Supergirl made their way back to the former's apartment.

Barbara and Kara walked across the building tops, as the rain began to fall quicker. They walked in silence, unsure what to say to each other.

"Good fight." Supergirl said trying to get a conversation started to break the silence and to try and tell Barbara her secret.

"Yeah, it.. was." Batgirl said "You um, really gave it to Harley She's probably sawed stars after that punch." she said with a small chuckle.

"Yeah, I sure did." Supergirl said in a sorrowful tone, that she did her best to hide. "After that fight, I don't think Ivy will want to mess with you again."

"Oh, she will. It takes more than that to stop her." Barbara said in a small chuckle. "Thanks again for helping me tonight and for saving me." Barbara said.

"Don't mention it." Kara said. "Thanks for warning me about that dart."

"That's what best friends are for." the redhead said.

"Yep." Kara said in agreement. She looked at Barbara and secretly decided that it would be better if they were just friends.

As they reached the building where Barbara's apparent was, Supergirl stop. She looked down at a small puddle and sighed quietly. Barbara had just reached the ladder. She looked towards the horizon as she let out a small sigh. The two women stood as the rain continued to fall, Barbara turn round seeing Kara looking down. Worried she decided to find out what was wrong.

"Are you sure your ok Kara?" Barbara asked.

"Hm, oh yeah I'm fine." Supergirl lied, but Barbara didn't buy it.

"If there's something you want to tell me, just say. We best friend, you can tell me anything." Batgirl said, giving a small friendly smile.

Supergirl hesitated for a moment and then she looked up. She had to tell Barbara the truth. It was now or never.

"Promise you won't get mad." she said. Barbara nodded, Kara, exhaled before she spoke.

"You remember when you asked me yesterday if there was someone I liked?" she asked nervously. Batgirl nodded.

"Well there...there is someone. " the blonde hair woman said.

"Oh, who is?" Barbara asked. She tried to hide the sorrow in her voice. Afraid of what Kara might say it was.

Kara looked down again for a moment, then closed her eye and took a deep breath. "It's...it's you." She waited for a response, she looked up towards the redhead.

Barbara blinked in shock as her jaw dropped. Then her expression turned neutral and then she slowly walked towards Kara.

"Barbara I'm sorry... I... I don't how but it... it just... happened. I understand if you don't..."

Kara didn't finish her sentence, as Barbara closed her eyes and kissed Kara on the lips. Kara was in shock for a second then she pulled Barbara in closer and closed her eyes. The only noise that could be heard was the hard rain hitting the ground as the two continued their kiss. Pleased by each other's confession. After thirty-five seconds, they ended their kiss and entered Barbara's apartment through the window. Then they entered her bedroom, draw the curtains, got unchanged and turned off the lights before they started to begin making love under the covers for the next two hours.
