Chapter 4

Train Ride and Bar Meeting

Later, the gang were outside on the other side of the shop.

"So, how do we get to the monster realm Delisle?" Fred asked.

"Without my powers, the only way into the monster world is by the fantôme exprimer." the cat answered.

"Like is what's that?" Shaggy asked.

Just then a blue transparent Valley Railroad 3025 came out of the woods towards the shop. As it came to a halt, it released a ghostly hiss. However the gang where more shocked by what was drive the locomotive. The engineer was a tall skinny bird with a long neck and legs, a large feathery crest and a long tail. It was wearing a traditional western engineer's hat and scarf. It turned to the gang and spoke.

"Meep Meep." was all it said.

"Reep Reep?" Scooby asked.

One of the doors of the front coach opened to reveal a ghost conductor who stepped out to check if there was anyone coming off at the station or coming aboard the train.

"Train departing, last stop is the Bill and Joe's watering hole. All aboard." The conductor in a deep southern accent.

The six of them got on to the front coach. Once inside they saw several monsters including goblins, trolls and gargoyles. The gang took their seats, just as the train began to move, when it did the rails behind it disappeared. Looking outside they saw the woods move in the opposite direction.

"You know, it's kind of ironic. We were riding a fake ghost train at the carnival and now we're riding in a real one." said Fred.

"I'm guessing you don't go on the train much since you can just use your magic to get to your world?" Velma asked Delisle.

"I actually prefer taking the train. My magic maybe quicker but it doesn't allow me to see all the beautiful sites on the way." Delisle answered as she looked outside of the window.

"Really?" Velma asked.

"Well what the point of going somewhere if you can't enjoy the journey?" the cat said.

"True, but unfortunately we won't have much time to enjoy the view. We need to know where to go after the train stops at it's last destination." said Fred.

"The quickest way from 'Bill and Joe's' would be through Cervone forest, but it's very dangerous. There are theifs, robbers and much worse in that forest." Delisle said.

"Delisle, do you know anyone who could helped us?" Daphne asked.

"There is someone, but not shore if they'll help us." Delisle said.

"Rhy rhat?" Scooby asked.

"Their not big fans of cats and I doubt that they'll won't to listen to me in this form." she said.

"What if we asked them?" Shaggy asked.

"Thank you for the idea Shaggy, but their not exactly the kind of monster that I would call friendly." Delisle said.

"Well I'm shore will come up with something."

The gang seat in silence as the train pasted several locations before it entered an invisible tunnel. After a while, Daphne spoke.

"I've been meeting to ask you Delisle, but when we in your shop, you called Elizabeth sister." she said.

"Yes. We're biological sister if you were wondering." the cat said.

"Actually, I was going to ask, what happened between you two?" the witch asked.

Delisle sighed and looked down as she spoke. "It's something I prefer not to talk about." she said in a sorrow tone.

"Oh Delisle, I'm sorry." Daphne said.

"It's quite alright Daphne." she said.

The train came out of the other side of the tunnel into the monster realm. The sky was darker, the forest creeper and atmosphere more spooky.

The Train came to a stop just outside a graveyard.

"This is the last stop. everybody out." the conductor said. The gang got out of the coach, as did all the other monsters. They walked down the path through the graveyard which lead to a rundown old build, with a sign that read "Bill and Joe's Watering Hole" in rusty metal.

"Keep your heads down and stay close, This place is full of thugs and criminals." Delisle said, Shaggy and Scooby gulped. The six friends entered the bar trying not to draw attention to themselves. Serval monsters looked at them as they walked towards the bar.

"Not exactly the most welcoming place, is it?" Velma whispered to Daphne, who nodded in agreement.

"Excuse me." said Delisle to the ghost barman "but would you know where we could find Gary?"

"His out back. Can I get you anything?" the ghost said.

"No thanks." they said before they made the way to the back of the pub.

"So how do we ask him" Fred asked Delisle.

"Try explaining to him about the problem, but do not mention my sister. It will course a panic." the cat said.

"Got it no mention of you know who." the vampire replied.

"Good." she said.

The gang reached the back were the saw a male werewolf who was dressed in clothing similar to that of Crocodile Dundee and drinking a large pint of beer. The gang looked at Delisle to check if this was who she was talking about, she nodded. They looked at each other to decide who should talk to him.

"I'll do it." Velma said.

"Are you shore?" Shaggy asked.

"I am. out of the six of use I'm the one that

"Ok, just be careful." Shaggy said.

Velma when over to the gruff looking werewolf and sat on the other end of his table.

"Excuse me sir." she said.

"What is it?" Gary asked, his voice was deep, gruff and was in an Australian accent.

"My name is Velma and me and my friends your help." she said.

"I see. How much you got?" he asked.

"How much are you asking for?" Velma.

"$5000 dollars." he said with a grin.

"$5000 dollars! We don't have that kind of money." Velma said in shock.

"Well, I usually only go up to $4000 dollars but I'll up the price becomes of your feline friend." the Australian said in growl and pointed to Delisle.

"Your charging extra just for a cat?" Velma asked.

"Yep. so miss it's ever $5000 dollars or no help." Gary said before taking a sip of his beer.

"Please we really need your help. The world is a stack." she said.

"Well, I guess the world is doomed then." Gary responded.

"Hmm, would you prices it down if I told you we were friends of someone you know?" she asked.

"Depends, who you talking about?" he asked.

"Delisle." Velma said with confidences. Gary's eyes widened in shock.

"Is something wrong?" Velma asked. Gary linden forwarded before he whispered to Velma.

"Does this problem of your have something to do with her sister?"

Velma nodded.

Gary thought for a moment. "You and your mates meet outside." he whispered, Velma nodded and left the table and told her friends the plan.

A little while later they outside waiting for Gary. The Australian werewolf came out and made his way to the gang.

"Alright then. What do ya need me to do?" he asked.

"We need you help use get to King Jeff." said Velma.

"Let guess. You need me to help you get through Cervone forest?" Gary asked.

"Res." said Scooby.

"Alright." Gary said before he paused for a moment "I'll help."

"Really?" the gang said in surprise.

"Yep." Gary replied.

"Thank you Gray. So how much do we own you?"

"Well give your up against, I'll do it for free. However I can only take you as far as the end of the forest as these no way to make it to his castle on foot."

"Fair enough, but like how do we get to the castle after we go through the forest?" Shaggy asked.

"I know two people who can help who live at the other end of the forest. They should still be at home at by the time we get there."

"Well then we better get going." said the witch.

"You got that right, now then an questions?" Gary said.

"Just one. What are the chances of us making out a live in the forest?" said Shaggy.

"I would say one in a billion." Gary said.

Shaggy and Scooby gulped. The gang and Gary made their way to the Cervone forest, not knowing what dangerous awaited them.
