Author's notes:

Hello! Hope you're ready for more Primal: Fangs and Bullets action!

This chapter is much longer than the previous one, like almost twice the word count of the previous one, and I hope you guys would enjoy it. Which I think is fitting, since I plan to update my other fics first before this one again, so I hope the length and the content would keep you guys satisfied before the next chapter.

Hopefully you guys won't have to wait too long for the next chapters.

Just some short notes.

If any of you are wondering if Fang would get an Aura and a Semblance? Wait and see in later chapters, I already have plans for Fang and her future abilities. She's going to adapt and evolve, to counter the threats Remnant possesses.

Plus, unlike in Primal where Fang is most of the time depicted as small a T. rex or a medium size related cousin, while size shifting on several occasions; in this story she is a fully size massive adult rex. As close, or even bigger than the upper estimation of other Tyrannosaur specimens.

Also a T. rex's bulk is comparable of being built like a tank and their jaws possess the strongest bite force of any terrestrial animal that has ever walked the earth. And sliding with a bit of unrealism, Fang is still as fast as she was in Primal and capable of leaping or jumping.

So, our favorite T. rex is still a primal force to be recon with, even without Aura or a Semblance.

If anything, Fang is essential a more athletic Rexy from Jurassic Park mixed with Grumpy from Land of the Lost (And I mean both versions of Grumpy from the original show and 2009 film, in terms of tenacity and intelligence).

And that's all, without further ado. Unto to the story.

Here is the chapter enjoy!

Chapter 2: Forest of Snakes

The boar didn't know what was stalking it. Only that it was large, fast, and deceptively silent. Every turn it makes, the boar could feel a piercing gaze tracking it. The intensity of the stare from whatever was following, would have been enough to send the boar fleeing and running for the hills.

But without knowing where the hunter was or when it will attack, left the boar in perpetual state of unease and panic.

Even when it believes itself to be hidden deep in the woods and trekking quietly across the forest, the boar knows something is watching and waiting for the right time to strike.

SNAP

The boars turns to the sudden sound of snapping twigs and crinkling leaves. It broke to a run and attempts to escape to live another day—Only to meet large jaws and sharp teeth. Then accompanied by its own bones snapping and body being crushed by a powerful force.

In an instant it was dead…

And Fang found another prize for her morning breakfast.

It was a good catch too; the boar was fat, and its flesh was juicy. It was worth the time and patience she had stalking it. She would say it even tasted better than the boars from her own time.

Some weeks have passed since her awakening to this strange new world she's found herself, and from her recent travels, Fang could say she was happy that not all manners of prey have changed much or disappeared entirely.

Though it was still sad to know all of the larger game she used to hunt, have all but disappeared.

The larger size of the Saurians and other creatures of the primordial world would have lasted Fang with enough food for a month and satiated her hunger for a long while before she'll think of feeding again.

Now with the lack of larger animals to prey on, Fang is forced to have a more active hunting lifestyle and would even fish occasionally among the rivers and streams she'd find herself along her journey. She even has taken eating sharks at the coasts and the sea sides when she comes across those locations.

Fortunately, the present area she's in is a woodland forest, and Fang is satisfied that there are still a plethora of options for her to hunt. Having enough food to leave no worries, due to enough prey to find and satisfy her. Still her travels have to continue, and Fang knows she would eventually leave the forest for a different place, hopefully somewhere she'll call home someday.

She still doesn't know the full lay of the land, or much of the strange world she's in for the matter, so a nomadic lifestyle is what Fang settled on for the time being. Allowing her to learn everything that is to know of the world, until the time is right to stop and make a permanent place to nest.

One thing Fang is thankful of and learning from her travels, is how fortunate that she no longer has to worry about competing with similarly large predators/rivals for food.

Besides the dark creatures she occasionally faces, no terrestrial animal so far has reached her size. Some are barely big enough to be considered a threat to her. And if anything, Fang has also included some of the local predators to her diet, with packs of wolves and small families of large bears included in her daily meals, should she ever encounter any.

Plus, the occasional large felines she would come across near the more mountainous areas in her travels. Surprisingly, these cats lack the large sabretooths possessed by the kind Fang knows of.

"Rrrrr…" Letting out a small grunt before swallowing her meal whole, Fang felt satisfied for the day. Needing no longer to hunt for the time being.

Deciding she would rest first for now, before eventually resuming her trek through the woodlands. Fang remembered a good spot to lay down, it was a place with a small pond and a large tree acting as good shade. It also had a nice view to a different kind of forest filled with red trees, which was perfect because was Fang was planning to explore that location next.

She rarely got to see trees of different colors back then with Spear. Not really caring of the aesthetic of the places they went before, besides how to camouflage in them effectively.

But who knows what Fang will find there, though she'd be wise to be wary of whatever it is she'll encounter. A small part of her wanted to meet someone new. Maybe someone who she could be with for the time being and stave off the bit of loneliness she was feeling lately. She once thought of reconsidering the red girl's offer and stayed back at that patch of land surrounded by the sea. Though another part of Fang told her that it was too early for her to have another companion by her side.

She continued to dwell on these thoughts before resuming her walk through the woods.

Later on that same day, Fang has begun to hear some strange noises, foreign, and unknown from her own experiences.

It started after a while around the time she entered the forest of trees with red leaves. The noises didn't even sound alive, or anything else that was close to being similar to the bellows of animals and other Saurians. The noises then followed with even bigger and louder sounds, like an explosion or the earth rumbling to a quake.

Before the forest became silence once more, until the very same noise is heard once again. But this time without the additional sounds of explosions or rumblings. It was a bit unsettling hearing these strange type of sounds and noise reverberating throughout the forest grounds.

But before she knew it, night came, and Fang was still unsure of the sounds she heard earlier of the day.

Curious, Fang wanted to investigate the unknown sounds and see what was making it. But decided after a night's rest and the first thing she'll do the next morning.

Once the sun rose up and feeling rejuvenated from previous day's activities, Fang headed to the direction of where she believe the origin of the sounds is. Her senses continue to pick the same strange sounds, but oddly different than the one she heard before. Plus, without any accompanied explosions or sounds of rumbling.

After a few hours of trekking, she then found herself looking at an odd sight. It was a terrain that looked of human making and Fang could tell based on previous experience of encountering their many contraptions.

Though, she knows what she's staring at was a series of human contraptions of some sort, she guessed. Which were embedded to the ground along a long path. They were beams of metal arrange uniformly and with other intricate designs Fang wouldn't know or recognized. It also gave off the faint smell Fang would associate to anything related to fire or heat made by friction… and strangely lightning.

It was a bit incredible, Fang thought with a bit of awe.

Normally she wouldn't give a damn of what humans made, because most often than not, they were not of interest to her unless they were used for killing. But there were times Fang was intrigued by Spear and Mira's creations and innate ingenuity. How they made tools to simply do things easier and what not.

These strange objects were no different, only Fang didn't know what they were used for.

Fang took note that these odd metal beams looked to be worn from use, but for whatever reason she couldn't guess or figure out at the moment. Instead, the lone T. rex simply decided to follow these strange 'tracks' of metal beams, seeing no harm or anything else for her to follow leading to somewhere else.

Beginning her trek beside the path of metal, Fang also kept her senses open for the strange sounds she was hearing earlier. Her gut told her she was close, and she'll find out soon, but she continued to speculate on whatever made them and what reason did she hear those sounds for.

After an hour or so, Fang began counting.

Counting not the time she spent following the odd path she'd found, or the trees still filled with red leaves, their branches blowing and waving with the wind.

No. Fang was counting the mysterious metal humanoid corpses that suddenly began to appear along the road she'd taken.

The first time she curiously encountered a dead metal body—she deemed it dead since it didn't show any signs of life—she found first what appears to be its head on the ground, bisected from its body laying a few feet away from it. Fang deduced the cause for its halve state may have been from a blade or anything that was absurdly sharp to cut cleanly through metal.

She then guessed that these mysterious metal humanoids must have been in a fight and lost, seeing that most of the metal corpses she found were sliced up. Though others had mysterious holes or wounds similar, that gave off the faint scent that reminded Fang of the red hooded girl.

She could picture that some of these metal humanoids may have also died from a similar weapon, like the one used by the red rose themed warrior. Based on the bit of evidence Fang finds.

Though, as odd as it is finding these metal bodies lying near the metal path, Fang brought her guard up and let her senses be more open for any other presence in the forest besides herself.

The killers of these metal humanoids could still be out there, and she'd have to be careful of encountering them, not knowing how she'll fair against adversaries who can cleave through an army of metal beings. Who are also packing mysterious fire power that she's still a stranger too.

Fang kept on her path following the metal beams but was less keen in staying on course, if it leads her to some unexpected threat. That is until she noticed upon each new stride she made along the path, she felt vibrations passing through the ground.

Alert, Fang began to pinpoint of where the vibrations where coming from and took notice that whatever was making them was big, heavy, and its vibrations felt unnatural.

Unlike the large sauropods who's steps thundered the earth, the vibrations were constant with nearly no intervals in between.

And Fang felt it getting closer.

Then the odds sounds returned, humming, and growing louder as seconds pass. Whatever was making those sounds, was getting closer to Fang.

*VRRRROOOMMMMMM

Behind her, Fang turned around and… and… She couldn't believe her eyes of what she has just witnessed.

She was frozen in shock…

…as a LARGE METAL SNAKE passes her…

Moving along the path made with metal beams with alarming speed.

Speed Fang could not hope to achieve, to run away or flee from this metal serpent monstrosity. The creature was moving so fast that it blurred in motion from Fang's vision and perspective.

And it was huge.

Plus, really long and felt that it could carry a whole lot of weight… or in Fang's understanding, big enough to swallow something as large as her whole.

Fortunately, just as fast the metal snake beast moved, it appeared as it disappeared quickly for a moment without a trace. Continuing to follow the metal beam path, due course to whatever destination it would lead it to.

While Fang remained still and unmoving from sudden shock. With past trauma surfacing in her mind about rivers, thunders, floods, and multiple serpentine figures biting and swimming in the chaos.

After a few minutes passed… Fang bellowed a fearful panic rich roar. "ROOOAAAAAAAARRRRR!"

Before promptly running like hell away from the metal beam path, away from the metal snake that appeared on it, and abandoning her curious investigation of the metal warriors lying dead near the path. With the latter thought, Fang came to believe that their cause of death was because of the metal serpent and their futile efforts of conquering it.

Fang would admit they had her respect for having the courage to fight it, bravely if they did. But she'd still call them fools for having the audacity of facing a creature that large and compose of hard materials.

Fang would rather run like a coward and live to fight another day. AND fight battles she knows she could hope to win.

Also, not just because her opponent was a snake.

She didn't stop running until she was out of breath, not caring where she went, just as long as she was far away enough from encountering the metal serpent again.

It was noon when Fang ceased her panic and fear fueled run. And once having a small semblance of safety, finding a tree to lie down under, she decided to rest and catch her breath for the time being.

While composing her thoughts and asking the world… Why?

Why!? …Why!? …WHY!?

Did it have to be damn freaking… SNAKES!?

Primal gods awful—

SNAKES!

Slithering serpentine swimming constricting—

SNAKES!

If there was one species that Fang would be happy to be extinct instead of her kind and gone from the face of the earth she stood, it would be snakes. Her Ophidiophobia was something she thought would disappear eventually but didn't.

Even after facing countless serpent and snakelike adversaries in her past with Spear, snakes still had an effect on her.

Remembering that fateful night when Fang recalls having a brief dispute and scuffle with Spear. That experience would forever be etched in her memories for the trauma induced and near-death experience they faced together against a massive horde of snakes. While admis a flood and thunderous rain, with lightening adding horrors to what they witnessed.

Just the eerie image of lighting illuminating the snake filled river triggered Fang.

"rrrrr….." Fang shudders from remembering the weather back then, she was nearly killed or at least feared of being electrified underwater, and she still has the faint scars of snake bites, acting as reminders for her of that horrible experience.

And now in this new world, the snakes were even bigger, even more ridiculously faster, and are made of metal. Which makes them all the more harder for Fang to kill or fight against.

And she hates the reality of which she finds herself vulnerable to snakes.

Fang could only hope she would be able to avoid or not have any encounters with snakes. She'd be tempting fate for considering the thought, but she really doesn't want to ever see another slithering reptile with lack of limbs again in her entire new second chance on life.

Shaking off her thoughts, Fang decides to rest a bit more easy.

Finally feeling the fear and panic regarding snakes leave her system, deciding to continue resting her body, before later resuming her travel elsewhere.

*BANG

Until the sudden sound of something cracking the sky echoes through the air.

Fang raised her head and turned to the direction of the sound, seeing a few birds flying away from its location. She heard several more sounds—or this time noises—that reminded her again of the red girl's weapon. Fang remembers the red girl's weapon would produce a similar noise before a projectile is fired and hits her target. She could associate the sounds with the firing of those projectiles.

Judging how many that are letting loose at the moment, Fang knows someone is fighting in the forest …And getting closer to her location.

Curious, she waits with bated attention and—

*BANG

Ducking her head out of instinct, a bullet narrowly misses Fang's head and embedded itself on the tree trunk behind her. With the rex briefly glancing at the fizzing smoke coming off the small hole made by the projectile. Fang cautiously kept her head lowered on the ground, just as several figures sprung forth entering the clearing.

And another as if coming from shadows, descends and lands at the center of clearing, who proceeds to stare down at their opponents.

With her bulk easily mistaken for a large rock and her scales help camouflage with the clearing, Fang remained hidden as she spectates at this unexpected development. Taking notes of the figures in this standoff and their odd appearances.

Most of them were wearing black and white clothing, with hoods covering their heads and grey masks concealing the top half of their faces. They smell of humans yet had traces of other animalistic scents that seem to emanate from themselves. With most individuals having their own unique scent accompanying them, different to one another.

Fang thought it was an odd assortment of smells, but they all held the same aura of intent to kill. For in their arms where smaller weapons similar to the red girl's that Fang remembers, and all aimed at the figure standing at the center of the clearing.

The rex saw that it was another girl, another young adolescence slightly older than the red girl she previously met. Her attire was a mix of black and white, with some sort of thin black cloth tied above her head. Fang also detected the girl was armed with a unique looking blade and could see the girl's weapon sheathed behind her.

She also smells human, and similar to the others, having her own unique scent that accompanied it. And if Fang concentrated enough, she would say the scent was a bit of a feline odor… mix with the unmistakable scent of blood.

It was only by then did Fang noticed that the girl was injured. Her eyes zeroing on the girl clutching her side with a free arm, hiding a stain of blood on her waist.

Which could be the likely reason why the young girl didn't draw her weapon to defend herself.

Oddly enough, Fang noticed that while the girl was clutching her wound, there a was a faint glow present over it. She wonders if it was something akin to magic and helping the girl heal. Some humans and sentient creatures Fang knows were capable of magic and the like, so it isn't an unusual sight.

But the girl was still cornered, and Fang was debating whether if she should intervene or let these unique smelling humans settle this dispute by themselves without her interference. She might makes things worse for the other party if she chooses poorly and Fang doesn't know who's side she should end up joining.

In her last encounter with a human, Fang knew it was obvious the creatures the red girl was facing were of malic and darkness born for destruction, thus deciding to aid the rose colored warrior in slaying them.

Now its humans pitted against each other, admittedly another young girl in a sticky situation, though not facing dark creatures but her own kin as far as Fang could tell.

It was a tough decision for Fang to choose which party she should side. Much less if she wants to meddle with human affairs this early with her new life. It was always a complicated mess whenever she and Spear got involve with another tribe of sapient beings; And also with those barely human or barely humanoid worth mentioning too.

Good examples being the primitive blood moon tribe, the savage Ape men, the coven of witches, and Mira's slave captors to name a few. A lot of bad and complicated problems of their own coming from those kinds. With Mira's enslavement being the worst dealing, and the persistency of the ape men coming a close second, in Fang's own opinion that made her feel the primal fury to squash them under her feet.

But as Fang continues to watch the young girl being cornered, she did not realize she already made her choice. And as the figures began to speak to one another, did their words solidify Fang's decision.

"Today, you die here traitor! You've abandoned our cause! You've abandoned the White Fang! Death is the only penalty for such betrayal." One of the figures spoke, no doubt the leader of the pack hunting the young girl.

"I didn't betray the cause! It's you who have chosen a different path, a bloody vengeful new cause to follow! Can't you see what we've become?!" The young girl cried out in protest trying to gain sympathy from the others, but they remained resolute and deaf to her pleas.

"No… this is the way… Our cause is the way the White Fang will bring order and respect for all the Faunus of Remnant!" The leader preached with a holistic glee.

"With Humanity under our heel?!" The young girl responded with contempt and disgust. "Then you'll be no different to our abusers at this case! Becoming the monsters they've accused us of being!"

"Maybe… but you and I know those humans Deserve it!" The leader's expression darkens, staring with contempt at the defiant young girl. "But if you lost sight of that truth, then there's no hope for you."

With a hint of malice in his voice, the leader adds. "No matter what Adam does to me after he finds out… you die here."

The leader then motioned the rest of the group, their guns clicking in unison, as he ordered. "Kill her."

The young girl tensed as most of them aimed their weapons at her, ready to fire.

It was this moment when Fang made her move. She didn't understand what the humans were saying, but she could still feel the intent in the leader's word.

Maybe it's because she still felt a bit of pain from watching her hatchlings die cornered like the young girl in black. Or this world is playing with her motherly instincts for finding another young child in trouble yet again. Stirring something in Fang that went past the simple nature of her kind, who most often focused on self-survival.

It's probably the growing empathy and altruism she got from Spear. From all the times they spent together helping other creatures without anything in return and saving each other from certain death.

And now Fang's going to do the same for this black attired young girl, deciding to help her. Because she knows there is good in what she is going to do.

Regardless of whatever good that is.

"ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRR!"

Fang roared in rage and fury, standing up to her feet and calling out to the weird smelling humans, getting their attention.

"Holy shit!" the Leader shouted, as every figure in the clearing stood in shock, caught off guard by Fang's appearance. As with all of the other humans noticing her too, getting distracted. Which Fang took advantage.

Instead of her usual tactic of charging right in, she swings her tail slamming the tree beside her, the force snapping its trunk and sending it hurtling to the group.

"Watch out!" One of the unique smelling humans calls out in warning before getting smashed by the flying wood, with several others unfortunate enough to be in its way. This led to breaking their tight formation surrounding the young girl, allowing her an opening to escape, while everyone was scattered.

"No! Don't let her escape!" The leader shouts, catching their target fleeing back into the forest.

One member asks his leader. "But what about that thing?! And—Captain!" Only to shout in warning, pointing something behind the leader.

"Huh?" The leader turns around and then widens his eyes in horror as he sees Fang in the air pouncing towards him… Jaws first.

"ROOOAAAARRR!" Fang bellows before snatching the leader in her jaws.

"BROTHERS NO—KLWWLRK!"

Then snapping the poor bastard into two, the bite force splattering his guts and blood all over Fang's maw. While all of his companions scream and cry out in utter horror.

"NO! BROTHER SHIRYO!"

"IT KILLED HIM—SNAPPING HIM LIKE A KITKAT BAR!"

"His death will not be forgotten." One spoke solemnly, with a gesture of prayer to his fallen comrade, before joining in the panic. "WE'REALLGONNADIE!"

Licking her snout of the excess red liquid, Fang found that humans, no matter how unique smelling they are, still taste the same despite the passage of time.

Though they are still too salty for her tastes.

She then turns her attention to the remaining humans in the group. Smelling their fear… which is technically the shit and piss coming from a few who soiled themselves, the stains still evident despite them wearing black pants.

Taking the opportunity for having intimidation on her side, Fang charged and began tear them apart one by one, as they continue to be disoriented now without a leader, all running away from the massive T. rex.

"ROOOAAAARRR!"

"It's coming right for us!"

"Retreat!"

As they began to flee, Fang chomps down on two individuals who were closer to her, crushing them in her jaws. Their bodies popping like meat sacks, with their blood and guts spraying all over their other companions.

Some screamed before Fang's tail whipped them to the air, sending them flying to the sky, before falling back to the ground with audible snaps of bones breaking. Those that were still alive were promptly stomped by Fang, their bodies splattering and engraving their guts on the grass.

Others could only stand still in fright, becoming easy pickings for Fang to snatch more with her mouth and shaking them like ragdolls. She noticed that some humans were harder than they look, as if they had an invisible shell protecting them.

But nothing an additional bite wouldn't fix.

Fang clamps her jaws on another fleeing human, seeing a brief flash of light shattering around the individual, before throwing the body in the air and then biting it to two. A bit of entrails gets lodge between Fang's teeth, but she simply whips her head around, throwing them off her jaws to the trees and bathing the surroundings with the bloody remains. More shrieks and fearful sounds were heard from her act.

The humans continue their attempts to run away in panic, their screams short lived before Fang kills them in brutal fashion.

One human attempts to hide under a log. But Fang sees him and jumps towards the log, then squashing both it and the human under her weight. Leaving behind a bloody pulp mix with wooden splinters and stakes stabbed through its mass. Another was thrown into the air, before falling down into Fang's waiting jaws, then explode into ludicrous gibs upon getting clamped by incredible force. The rest of the group of humans then turned to flee into the forest, thinking that they would lose Fang somehow through the thicket of red trees.

Unknowingly putting themselves at a disadvantage, since they were now in Fang's element, who followed and taking the opportunity of picking them off one by one in her playing field.

She disappears from most of the humans' view, blending in with her environment before resuming her assault.

"It's—AHHH!"

A head flies through the forest trailing blood.

"Keep an eye on it! Its moving to our ri—GAHH!"

A severed leg flies passed another human running way, before tripping himself from getting distracted and falling to the ground.

"Huh… what… WAIT NO, NO, N—*KRKKRK."

One individual passes a large footprint splattered with blood, not noticing the flattened crushed body within.

"Where is it, Where is it?! WHERE?!"

Another human was hiding behind a tree, looking everywhere at every direction for Fang. Before the tree burst into pieces behind him, as Fang tackles and squashes the unfortunate man under her heel.

"No, get away! GET AWAY!"

Fang then trails behind two other humans, both females running for their life.

"It's gaining on us!"

"Just run faster! RUN FASTER!"

Her jaws inch closer and closer to one individual. Before she lunges and executes a savage bite, the force far greater than usual, which resulted to the female's body popping like a meat sack under extreme pressure.

Blood gushes out in brief torrents from the individuals head. With a lone eyeball popping out…

…Straight towards the other female's gaping mouth, who's head had turned around and looked in horror from her companion getting brutalize.

She started choking, tripping from the sudden foreign object lodge in her throat. Just as bile was pulling in her stomach from disgust. Before Fang's tail slams into the human midsection and sends her flying into the air.

The female soars though the forest clearing, releasing her vomit streaming behind her, as she flails and dislodges the eyeball from her throat. While her body twists and turns in wicked manner due to the whiplash. She crashes back into the ground with an audible snap. Her neck bent on different angles as with the rest of her torso.

Right before the feet of two other members of their group.

"What in Remnant is that thing?! Is it a Grimm?! A freaking dragon?!" One asked clearly panicked and scared shitless at the carnage their squad was facing.

"I don't care! Just light it up, we have guns! Why didn't we used these in this first place?!" The other replies, wising up and pointing out they were armed.

The remark caused the former to wonder why they forgot that they had some means to protect themselves. "Oh. Right."

With a sudden courage, the two began to aim their guns at Fang before letting loose their bullets at her.

Fang noticed and began to run to avoid the projectiles being shot at her. A few stray shots hit her and struck her scales, with a few piercing them. They hurt slightly, comparable to being stung, but Fang's bulk helped protect her and prevent anything vital from getting damaged. Though she still avoided having the bullets strike her head or chest and began to run around the two humans firing at her.

"YEAH! HOW THE TABLES OF TURNED!"

"Take that you overgrown iguana!"

The humans began to cheer in triumphant seeing Fang now at the disadvantage… Though not for long.

Fang was no stranger to range weaponry, arrows and thrown spears to name a few, and has some experience fighting foes possessing them.

She runs around the two once more, before performing a 360 spin and whipping her tail at a tree, launching it towards the unsuspecting humans.

The two humans paused to look at the large mass of wood careening towards them. Eyes widening in panic.

"Oh shi—"

"CRAP!"

The tree crashes into them, knocking them back into the ground.

They let out groans of pain before feeling a certain weight over them. Noticing that the tree was pinning their bodies down and that their guns were also knocked out off their hands.

"Oh, no… Our guns!" One spoke in horror as panic returns to the pair.

The other didn't waste time trying to get them unpinned. "No time to cry for our guns! help me push this tree off of us before—"

Unfortunately, the ground begins to rumble beneath them. The two share a look of despair, before glancing at Fang approaching them slowly in a menacing manner.

"Rrrrr…" Fang sounds a threatening growl in contrast to the whimpering she could hear from the two humans. She looked at her wounded prey for a second before lunging her jaws.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Their screams were the last ones heard that day.

It took a while for Fang to tend to her wounds, going as far taking a dip back in the pond to wash the blood off her body. It was already approaching dusk when she was done and right before the first hours of the evening would begin.

Once she was sure that there was no more threats or humans with shooting sticks in the forest, Fang began her next objective for the day, and it was to look for the young girl in black. Who fled the moment Fang entered the fray and fought her pursuers. She wanted to see if the girl was alright, and if her wound has healed.

Fang could tell that the young girl was also a warrior and gave off the same aura or feeling similar to the red girl she met weeks ago. She was sure the girl was fine, but Fang just wanted to double check. A part of her motherly instincts were still influencing her actions, and her conscience was telling her to find the girl and make sure she's safe from harm. There are still threats out in the forest, mainly the dark creatures who inhabit this world.

She was able to track the young girl's unique scent, getting a whiff of it once more and headed to the direction where it smelled the strongest. Following the scent and wherever it led her.

For the next few hours, Fang kept walking and tracking the scent of the young girl. She thought she would have seen the girl by now, and as evening came she wondered if she'll end up staying awake the whole night looking.

It was not until she started to approach a cliffside did she find the young girl again.

With her eyesight, Fang took note the girl made a fire and camped herself on a suitable clearing. Though she couldn't see the condition of the girl or how she was doing. Only that she was looking at a weird object Fang wasn't familiar with.

Fang tried to get closer to the camp, ever so quietly and careful with her steps.

Until she stepped on something that made a jingling sound and alerted the young girl. In a swift movement, the girl stood up and unsheathed her weapons, turning to the direction where Fang was.

"Who's there!"

Fang heard the girl call out to her. The tone hostile and sounded to be threatening.

She wasn't sure if she should still approach the girl or bother her, and just turn around and go on her own way. The girl looked to be in top form and capable of defending herself, no signs of her wound hurting or slowing her down.

But something compelled Fang to start walking towards the camp, may it be her own curiosity or something else entirely. Besides, there's no use to hiding her presence any further since she's been discovered.

As she got closer, did Fang see the girl more clearly and the expression on her face. That started off fierce and determined, before becoming fearful and worrisome as the girl finally realized what was approaching her camp.

The black attired girl finds herself staring at a large and obviously carnivorous creature, unaware of its origin from a primordial age long forgotten by time and Remnant. Not knowing what it was or why it seek her out. Only that it was in her camp and locking her eyes to yellowish slit ones, that hinted of intelligence hiding behind them.

While Fang gaze back at the golden orbs similar to her own, expressing unease and wariness as if being trapped with no chance to escape.

She took in the black attire of the figure in front of her and her unsheathed weapon consisting of two blades of different lengths and width. The blades drawn in a defensive posture and ready to lash out should she take a step closer.

But the Tyrannosaur was compelled to approach—wanting to come closer. For she saw something that made her curious. Something unexpected that made her want to come nearer.

In order to see clearly pass the flimsy ribbon that got loose on top of the girl's head, something she thought not possible for humans to possess.

Cat ears.

Black furred, very feline, and moving anatomically like real ears. Fang swore she saw the young girl's cat ears twitch at the lightest sound.

She also found it strange and wondered if humans have changed or evolved as time passed since the end of the primordial era. Do they possess traits of other animals now? Do all humans share the same traits and form tribes of them? Many questions, with Fang wondering too if the other humans she killed earlier also had animalistic traits, just hidden under their clothes. Regardless of her thoughts, Fang knew she was staring too long at the girl and could sense she was starting to make her feel uncomfortable.

She tried to approach the girl more cautiously, but as she made a step forward, the young girl suddenly shifted her stance and bared her weapons.

"Stay back!" The young girl shouted, before Fang watched one of her weapons shift and transform to another shape. One resembling the shooting sticks the other humans had, much to the rex's amazement.

Did human weaponry also changed and evolved in tandem with their creators?

Fang was sure that was the case, because she could smell the trace of flammable material from the young girl's weapon and knows she is capable of shooting those tiny projectiles that sting. And at this range, Fang knows the girl has a clear shot of hitting her and verily anything vital that could injury her dearly.

They were in a standoff, one that Fang didn't intend to happen or appear to be the one with the disadvantage. She has to find a way to communicate to the girl that she doesn't mean any harm and will simply leave her be, if she lets her without causing a fight.

That was the initial plan Fang thought, before cries of the dark monsters echo through the sky, diverting both her and the young girl's attention to the direction where the calls supposedly came from. For a moment, Fang and the girl lost eye contact and waited if there were any monsters coming to get them this late at night.

When a few minutes passed and nothing black, white, and boney came out to the clearing, Fang turned her attention back to the young girl, but this time caught her staring with a different expression on her face.

It was one more of inquiry and of being perplex, which Fang guessed was towards her behavior.

The fact that they both turned their attention away from each other for a brief moment, leaving themselves open for an attack from the other but didn't, would have left them both puzzled and questioning of each other's intentions.

For Fang, this gave her hope that the girl would see this as a sign. See that she did not have any intent to hurt her.

And it seemed to be the case after a short moment. Despite her weapon still aimed at her, Fang could sense the young girl's unease slowly dissipate and a chance to convince the girl that she wasn't threat.

A distant memory resurfaces in Fangs mind, remembering the first time she and Spear encountered Mira. Recalling her companion's actions and how he was able to placate their would-be future companion. Fang would be taking a risk, but she has no other idea to use and hopes her ploy would get the young girl to trust her. Even if it's just for the night, since after hearing the dark creatures bellow in the forest this late, Fang didn't want to leave the girl alone and be left to fend for herself against them.

"Rrrrooo…." Fang gave a low croon, hopefully not sounding too threatening to the girl, who raises her eyebrow in suspicion.

Yet the girl doesn't make any moves to harm Fang, which the rex sees, allowing her to continue her actions undeterred.

Locking eyes once more with the girl, Fang lowers her head near to the ground as low she can, so that she was the one looking up to the girl. The gesture would normally appear and be interpreted as an act of submission, though Fang would rather describe it as a respectful one, showing an open-minded offering of trust.

Unfortunately due to her size, Fang only got to lower her head to the girls eye level, which unnerved the young human but still didn't make a move against her.

Deciding to go all the way, Fang lets herself lie down on the ground, not breaking eye contact with the girl. While showing her position of being vulnerable and hopefully signaling she was finally not a threat.

The young girl in black continued to stare at Fang, weapon still trained at her, confused, and far more perplex at what she was witnessing.

"Rrrrooooo." Fang croons once more, making no move against the young girl, as they continue to gaze at each other.

Until finally, the young girl lowers her weapons and keeps them away. She still kept a levelheaded gaze at Fang and no doubt musing in her mind of what to make of her gesture. Ultimately, the young girl cautiously started to approach Fang, who was patiently waiting what her next move was.

Then to Fang's surprise, the young girl actually got a stick lying on the ground and drew a line separating them, starting from one end of the camp to the other. Still with a cautious gaze and occasionally glancing at the rex in front of her.

No doubt Fang knew the young girl was marking her side as her territory and other sides as hers. Once the cat ear girl was done, she then points the stick at the marking on the ground.

With a hard look that still held some fear behind it, the girl spoke with a stern voice, despite the tremble in her tone. "D-Don't cross this line…"

She then gestured with her free hand of her side of the camp, where the fire and her supplies are. "M-my side…"

Then she pointed to the ground where Fang was lying, punctuating. "Yours. You… Stay. There."

Fang didn't understand the girl's words, much less the language she was using. But Fang understood what the girl was implying and accepted the terms and conditions the young one demanded of her.

Normally, she would be too stubborn to follow orders from a stranger and was more tolerant of them when they came from Spear or people she considers her family.

But for the Black cat girl's sake— (For now Fang would call her Black cat girl for convenience)—She will respect the rules placed on their campsite and not cross the line she made between them.

Fang then nods in agreement, much to the astonishment of Black cat girl. Who was taken aback from her sudden acknowledgement, or the fact Fang understood her, and stared with an incredulous expression for a few moments at the large T. rex.

Feeling tired, Fang decided to get some rest and turned her attention away from the gob smacked expression Black cat girl was giving her. She curled towards herself, lifting her tail and moving her body to a comfortable position.

She heard the sudden yelp from Black cat girl, no doubt surprise at her sudden movement. But Fang ignored it and decided to close her eyes and fall asleep.

She knows Black cat girl would still stay up for a bit and watch her warily, just like Spear once had when they were still in the cusp of their new relationship. But Fang knew the young girl will grow to tolerate her presence and succumb to rest as well after some time.

Still, it would take a while before Black cat girl would ever gain some amount of trust for her. Not that it matters whether she does so or not, since Fang wasn't aiming to gain her trust in the first place. The rex found out what she wanted to know and saw the young one was okay, and her wound healed.

Fang has no other reason to stay with Black cat girl and she would leave her the morning after, with both of them going on their separate ways. She knows Black cat girl would do the same too, maybe even going earlier than her and would have left by the time she wakes up.

But Fang didn't mind. It still felt too early for her to find another traveling companion anyway.

The next morning, Fang found she was right.

Black cat girl left before she even awoken, clearing her side of the camp too. With the fire dosed and her bedding gone. The only thing left of the girl was her faint scent lingering in the area, but even that was gone when Fang tried to track it again. Somehow Black cat girl was able to throw off her scent, which was impressive in Fang's opinion, since she was a rex who could track prey miles away.

Still, there was really nothing Fang could do and just carried on her own. Black cat girl could handle herself and Fang doubts they'll ever see each other again.

Unaware how wrong her thoughts were, when she'll encounter Black cat girl numerous times in the course of a week.

It started the day after.

Fang was fighting a pair of ursid looking dark creatures. She stumbled upon them when they were busy licking some sap from some trees. Either they took offence to her interrupting their feeding or they just hated her guts, they attacked Fang unprompted. And the rex responded with equal vice against them.

It was a swift battle, with only a couple of chomps to their heads and dismembering their limbs to kill them, but when Fang threw one of their bodies towards a tree, a startled yelp was heard.

There was audible loud thud that came after, and once the dark creature she threw dissolves into ash revealing the figure behind it, Fang then finds herself staring at Black Cat girl once more.

Who was shaking off her disorientation from her abrupt landing, obviously from falling down the tree Fang threw the dark creature at. Once the dizziness in her head dissipates, Black cat girl offers her own look of surprise at seeing Fang again too.

They locked eyes briefly.

Before Black cat girl unsheathes her weapon, and instead of using it to attack, launches it with a black ribbon to the tree line and zips away from Fang. The rex could only blink in bewilderment at the abrupt departure, watching Black cat girl swinging away through the treetops and disappearing from her view.

Fang thought it was just a coincidence that they met and thought nothing of it. She simply carried on, turning away to the opposite direction, and kept walking.

It was the next day did Fang began to reconsider her thoughts, when she encountered Black cat girl again. This time the latter was the one who found her. And again, Fang was besiege by some dark creatures.

New one's she's never seen before too, who looked like lizards with a single pair of limbs. They suddenly popped out of the ground and started attacking Fang. The tyrannosaur guessed that she might have encroached on these creatures territory as well.

And they were numerous, their numbers keeping Fang's attention and focus on killing them as much as she can. She didn't notice Black cat girl was fighting alongside her, until she felt a small bump to her leg and growled at the one intruding in her space.

"Rrrrr…!"

"Woah!" Black Cat girl called in surprise. It seemed that she didn't notice Fang as well. Somehow finding her own pack of two legged lizards to deal with, while not noticing the 43ft long rex fighting beside her, despite the roars and sounds of bone crunching Fang was making.

Once again their eyes shared a brief look at each other before they resumed fighting the dark monsters. It ended with another victory for Fang, shared with Black cat girl, who the rex took notice of her unique fighting style.

She moved gracefully like a feline (not a surprise), slashing with her twin blades, and shooting from her transformed firing stick weapon. Then at times, Fang would witness the amazing sight of Black cat girl using the long black thread she had, in tandem with her blade and firing stick weapon. Swinging them around and manipulating their trajectory with the black thread, to eviscerating her enemies with unorthodox slices and slashes.

Again Fang was both amazed and found new respect to the art of combat humans have developed in this era. Watching the hybrid weapon of Black cat girl, flying in the air as if it were alive like a puppet of death, with strings dictating its murderous assault.

She was even more amazed when she witnessed Black cat's girl special power to make clones made of darkness… or shadows? Fang wasn't sure, but Black cat girl looked to incorporate her ability with her fighting style by letting her copies take hits for her. Witnessing another human being's display of their power, made Fang wonder if every other human in this world possess a unique skill or ability.

Once their battle was over, Fang gave a low growl to Black cat girl and bowed her head in gratitude for her aide. Before wordlessly departing from her once more. Not noticing the look of curiosity Black cat girl had, from witnessing Fang's display of intelligence again.

The rex once more, thought that was the last time she'll encounter the girl… but the succeeding days said otherwise.

The day after, Fang was drinking from a pond and didn't notice Black cat girl drinking beside her until they caught each's reflection in the water. They shared an awkward look with each other, before the young girl exchange a brief greeting …or said something Fang didn't understand with a questioning tone.

"Are you… following me?"

Fang snorted a reply and shared her own questioning look at the girl, before leaving. With no other words or sounds exchange between them.

Their next encounter was even more awkward.

Fang found herself trapped in a pit, dug by a scorpion looking dark creature. It fled when she was close to killing it and after biting its stinger off, by digging a hole and caused the ground beneath their feet to collapse. In her tongue, Fang was roaring curses at the thing before landing in a heap.

Black Cat girl fell no sooner than Fang did, either because she was in the area or the range the scorpion monster dug was far greater than expected. Either way, Fang softened Black Cat girl's landing when she fell right on top of her, specifically on top of her snout.

Their eyes meet, with Black Cat girl chuckling awkwardly as she was sitting on Fang's jaws. Follow again with a brief awkward silence between the two, both no doubt musing about these recurring coincidences. But they didn't have time to address that fact or each other for the matter, when the black scorpion like creature returned to take them both at once.

It's attempt went poorly as expected, with it dead and Fang and Black Cat girl somehow finding a way to get out of the hole they were in.

This time they parted with a little words of awkward goodbyes.

"Well… I hope we don't keep meeting like this."

"Rrrr…."

They did meet again. Nearly two days after to be exact. And it was when Fang was chasing a boar.

Just as she was about to seize it with her jaws, a trap was triggered, and a length of rope got itself tied around her snout. Fang was caught off-guard and confused at the sudden interference, while letting the boar escape much to her dismay.

A bubble of anger was about to form within Fang, and rage against the fool who dared to let her meal get away. Until she spotted the preparator on top of the tree above her.

And found, to her not-growing-surprise, Black cat girl.

All her hunger fueled rage die down, but Fang was still miffed at Black cat girl's interference. And she made it know with low growl and a gesture with her head to her tied snout.

Black cat girl admittedly had a sheepish expression and got down from the tree, to quickly untie the rope around Fang's jaws. While the rex lowered her head to the girl's level for easier access and making it easier for her to do so.

"Sorry…" Black cat girl whispered her apology, surprisingly not bothered, or unnerved for standing close to Fang's jaws and her sharp teeth.

Fang patiently waited in silence, tolerating Black Cat girl touching her.

Though if she were being honest, she actually didn't really mind the girl's touches at all. She noticed that Black Cat girl's touch was soft and felt warm against her scales. Fang also felt the small callouses of Black cat girl's hands and could tell that they were from years spent holding a weapon, a showing sign that she was a seasoned warrior. Yet the smooth caresses and careful maneuvering Black cat girl did to untie the ropes, told Fang she was a gentle soul and a good person.

Her touch actually reminded Fang of the gentle petting Spear, and even Mira, used to give to her in the past. Fang didn't notice herself leaning in closer to Black cat girl, wanting to feel her warm touch more. Nor did the latter take notice of her closer proximity either.

"Okay, all done." Black cat girl called out to Fang; she even gave a light pat on her snout for reassurance.

Fang stared at her, feeling a sense of nostalgia from Black cat girl, reminding the rex of how humans could be both dangerous fighters and sensitive individuals at times, with the capacity to care for others.

She took a whiff of Black cat girl scent once more, rubbing her snout against the girl in thanks too, before parting and silently walking away with her thoughts.

She didn't turn around to look at Black cat girl's expression or how she reacted. Fang was too busy in her thoughts, knowing that she was approaching a dangerous line, one she has yet decide whether to cross it or not.

And it was the fact that she was getting familiar with Black cat girl. And not knowing what to do about it.

Until their next encounter with each other, made Fang decide.

It was raining that day.

And Fang found shelter in cave, staying inside to avoid the cold wind and getting wet from the buckets of water falling from the sky. The rain was pouring down hard, and it reminded Fang of the monsoons that often-brought floods and causing valleys to fill like basins with water. She knew traveling was out of the question when the weather was this bad and unsuited for safe trekking. Remembering and knowing she didn't want to get into another flash flood filled with serpentine devils, Fang made the choice to wait for the rain to pass before resuming her nomadic journey.

Admittedly, Fang would normally just sleep through the storm as a way to pass the time, but she didn't feel tired since it was still the day and her body felt too active as well.

Worst she felt bored.

She wasn't one for sitting around doing nothing, besides for resting, and normally she would have company to take her attention away. Especially when she has grown to enjoy watching Spear and his cave drawings, hearing Mira and her ramblings despite not understanding them, and however brief, the sounds of their offspring's laughter and joy of playing.

Fang's kind, tended to be both solitary and social in nature. A Rex's behavior was known to be mixed between going alone or forming packs at times. Fang was no different, and she experienced both aspects of those two lives. Before having her hatchlings, she was a lone rex surviving. Then later on she formed a pack with Spear that grew bigger as time went on. And Fang grew too accustomed to the latter, missing it, and would honestly wish to have a companion once more.

But she was still reeling in with her recent lost, and a bit conflicted with her growing kinship with another.

And just as Fang thought about it, Black cat girl decided to make her appearance at that moment. Entering the cave with the echoes of wet boots and sloshing of soaked clothes, then pausing upon noticing Fang.

"Wha… you again?" Black Cat girl spoke, with a slight exasperated tone. Though Fang could tell her irritation was more of her being drench in water, no doubt because she got caught by the storm too. Either she was too tired to feel surprised at Fang's presence or didn't care and probably got used to seeing her for all the times they kept meeting each other, the young girl continued to enter the cave with no worries or hesitation shown otherwise.

Black Cat girl simply gave an exasperated sigh before moving to one side of the cave opposite from Fang, placing herself there and started to tend to her soaked self.

A few hours have passed, and both Fang and Black Cat girl have settled in. Both of them still waiting for the storm outside the cave to run its course.

Fang was asleep before waking up to find Black Cat girl looking at her weird object again. This time seeing it clearer and saw that it looked to be a binding of sort, holding a lot of paper. Black cat girl has also started a fire that was keeping her warm and lighting the cave with a bright orange light.

Now Fang tried to pay no mind at the young girl, leaving her to her own privacy. At most she simply watch the girl as she flips through the papers in her object. Until the rex took notice an additional scent coming from the weirdly scent human.

Which was just a hint, but of the unmistakable scent of arousal. Confusing Fang.

Though it did give the rex a slight idea of what could be going through Black Cat girl as of the moment.

Now Fang was no stranger to these sort of things and knows the matter of copulating is a natural process in life. But she also knows that humans have taken another level and meaning with procreation. Which is the fact that they also do it at times, besides the purpose of making offspring's and what not.

How does Fang knows this? She had experience with some individuals who behaved this way, that she would not mention out of respect. Nuff said.

But seeing Black Cat girl having no present partner or any other that would illicit this sort of biological reaction, Fang was puzzled. And kept speculating of the possible reasons, until she was caught staring by Black Cat girl.

The rex then saw the woman immediately closed her object with an audible snap, before hiding it away while sporting a pink flush adorning her face. The young girl gave Fang a pointed glare, before turning away from her and curled to look smaller from the rex's view.

Fang guessed that whatever was causing Black Cat girl's arousal was the object in her hand, puzzling her even more. While sensing the embarrassment from the poor girl, no doubt from being caught in… whatever new act it is that humans developed this age related to their carnal rituals.

Fang sheepishly turned her attention away from looking at Black Cat girl, feeling apologetic for her rude behavior. Having some courtesy to be delicate and not make things anymore awkward for the young kitten smelling human.

She knows better to not interrupt moments of intimacy—again, Fang had some experience with certain individuals she wouldn't mention when they were in a mood—and even some animals have the decency to not violate this unspoken rule.

So if Black cat girl and her object wanted to …fornicate?

Then Fang will give her privacy. Besides, who is she to interrupt something humans do this age, no matter how strange and weird out she is of it.

Not her, especially when she's from a primordial bygone era and too old to judge unjustly of present mating customs.

And Fang would have left Black Cat girl in peace and continue there peaceful cohabitation inside the cave…

…if it weren't for hearing the unmistakable sound of hissing.

Glancing at her right and seeing something approaching her, Fang panickily scream—

"RIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAR!"— Err, roared, loudly in the cave. While jumping to her feet. The rex immediately began moving away from the serpentine intruder she fortunately spot entering the cave.

"Sssssss"

The snake's soft hissing triggered Fang, not helping her anxiety. And prompting her to move even further away from the small serpent, who was now apparently dead set in approaching her.

It persistently kept following Fang, like it sensed her weakness and taking the opportunity to strike at her fearful state. The rex unaware that the snake was approaching her because of her body heat.

"ROOOOAAAAARRR!"

Fang kept screaming and trying to roar it away. Wanting it to leave her in peace and bother some other snake fearing rex out in the rain. Heck, if she would choose between stepping and killing the snake in self defense or taking her chances with the storm outside, she'll take the latter any day.

Fang was about do it too. Ready to bolt and getting her scales wet than have the limbless reptilian snap at her with is fangs.

Fortunately, Black cat girl came to her rescue.

Easily stabbing the snake on its head with her weapon and then throwing it's dead body into her fire. This caused Fang to stop in her mad screaming and roaring. Who then suddenly took notice that in her panicked state, she unconsciously moved to Black cat girl's side of the cave for protection.

Fang froze in place, not knowing what to do. She trespassed into Black cat girl's territory and probably caused her some problems with all her loud noise from trying to escape the small slithering devil. She could still feel a bit of her shock and was still a little on edge from her unexpected fright, trying to keep her breathing in control, while unable to respond properly to Black cat girl if she wanted to.

To her surprise, Black cat girl gave her a measured look before she bravely began to approach her cautiously.

"Hey… hey… It's okay." Black cat girl spoke softly to Fang. Lowering down her weapon onto the ground and raising her hands in a placating gesture, trying not to spook the rex any further.

Bravely, she slowly walked towards Fang before stopping at a certain distance close to her. But still far enough to get away should something go wrong.

"Easy, okay. Easy…."

Black Cat girl continued to gently console Fang, eyeing her cautiously. "Snake's gone… made sure of it."

She made small gesture to the fire and smiled with reassurance. "It's not going to bother you anymore."

Fang briefly glance at the fire, seeing the body of serpent burning to ash. Feeling some assurance that it was dead and letting herself relax a bit. She locked eyes once more at Black Cat girl, seeing the young girl silently asking her permission to approach her.

Remembering her warm touch from the previous day and wanting to feel it again after having another snake induced panic attacked, Fang instead took lead in approaching Black cat girl, taking a few steps forward and pressed her snout against the young girl's waiting hands.

She immediately felt the soft petting of her scales, liking it and the warmth of Black Cat girl's soothing touch, feeling the fearful jitters leave out of her system.

"Woah…" Black Cat girl whispered, her tone filled with awe and wonder, as she continues to comfort the giant saurian. Her hands stroking Fang's snout and feeling the air blowing out from her nostrils as the rex controls her breathing.

They stayed in that position for a few minutes, until after some gentle encouragement, Black cat girl was able to lead Fang back closer to her fire. Despite the latter glaring at the flames and the offending serpentine body burning inside.

Fang decided to curl around Black Cat girl protectively, as they settled down. The young girl even letting out a tired sigh, no doubt from her ordeal of placating Fang.

"Never thought you'd be afraid of snakes."

At this point she was too tired to care or be afraid of the large rex, even leaning back and felt the rex's larger body supporting her and the warm body heat being immitted from it.

"I don't blame you… not everyone's a fan of snakes." Black cat girl spoke, while Fang felt the girl rest her head on her torso. It looked that the young girl appreciated the saurian's presence, with Black cat girl seemingly happy reclining on Fang. It certainly beats the cold hard ground she was originally lying down on earlier.

"You're pretty warm." Black Cat girl commented. While Fang bumps her snout against her once more, crooning for more petting. The young girl simply chuckled at how needy the rex was being.

"What did I get myself into?" Black Cat girl asked herself, her tone full of mirth while her hands proceed to stroke and comfort the saurian.

Fang snorts, not understanding what the girl said, but somehow sharing the same thoughts as she continues to purr in content from Black cat girl's gentle touch.

For once, Fang was happy to let herself be vulnerable and console safety from another stranger. Especially when they could kill snakes for her.

The rain continued to pour down until the evening. With Fang still residing in the cave with Black Cat for the time being. Both still waiting for the weather to pass and not leaving the cave for the time being.

Though in the middle of the afternoon, Fang did go out and hunted for a bit for food. She even brought back a large boar for her and Black Cat girl to share, much to the latter's surprise. Who also prepared it and started cooking some portions in the fire.

And as she continues to watch Black cat girl cook the meat she brought; Fang realizes she's found herself completely sharing the cave with the young girl. With boundaries no longer between them, happy too of the company they have offered with each other.

After her recent freak out with the snake, Fang continued to stay close with Black cat girl. Laying down with the young girl and even rubbing her snout with affection towards the human. While Black cat girl appreciated the extra warmth Fang was supplying. Most of Fang's other gestures were welcomed by Black cat girl too, except for licking. The young woman would often shudder or recoil in slight disgust and promptly wash the Fang's saliva off her with the rain outside at times.

While it didn't cause Black cat girl to stop being close to her, Fang did get the message from the young girl that despite her feline attributes, she didn't like getting licked like a kitten by its feline mother, since it was making her uncomfortable.

Besides that, nothing else brought any disagreement between the two and they both continued to enjoy each other's presence easily. No matter how unorthodox and out of place it is, seeing a large t. rex and a cat eared girl staying in a cave together.

They were still silent with each other, which Fang didn't mind and noticed Black cat girl sharing the same feelings. Somehow they both shared the same feeling of content from dwelling in silence and hearing the other gentle sounds filling the air space.

But they didn't stay quiet for too long.

Probably it's because of her growing curiosity of Fang or how the saurian kept staring at the pieces of boar meat being cooked at the fire with such intensity after some seasoning was sprinkled over, Black cat girl decided to start making conversation to the teal T. rex.

Calling out from her place near the fire. "Hey. Are you… a dragon?"

Fang ceased her intimate gaze at the aromatic cooked meat, which reminded her of all the times she appreciated humans and their skills in making normal food taste more heavenly, turning her attention towards Black cat girl who was staring at her with an inquisitive gaze.

"Are you a dragon?" Black cat girl asked again, tilting her head to the side. Mimicking the image of a curious feline, the resemblance even more prominent to Fang due to nothing obstructing the young girl's cat ears. Her ribbon that usually covers them, was drying somewhere else in the cave due to being soaked.

"You don't look like the dragons I read in fairy tales. You don't have wings …and instead having shorter front limbs. And not once did you breath fire." Black Cat girl said, eyeing Fang's body once more, taking in her unique characteristics.

Fang could only tilt her head in reply in a questioning manner. She knows Black Cat girl was trying to communicate with her, but she still couldn't understand her language.

"Can you… understand what I'm saying?" Black Cat girl asked, gesturing to her mouth or rather to her voice.

Again Fang didn't understand her words, though she did have an inkling of what she trying to ask this time based on her gestures.

The rex simply shakes her head and locks gaze with Black cat girl in response. Hopefully, her action was the right response and was enough to convey to Black cat girl that she doesn't understand a word she said.

It was like the same situation with Mira before. Reminding Fang that she and Spear didn't understand Mira's language at first. With the more advance human quickly realizing and taking notice as well that they didn't understand what she was saying.

But their situation didn't stop them from finding other means to effectively communicate with each other, until Fang and Spear began to understand some of Mira's words that led to more open communication between them. Mainly Spear who learned to speak to her as well, as Fang remembers. While she just understood the words and responded with body gestures.

Fortunately, it appears the young girl got the gist and was quick to the uptake, nodding her head to Fang's response. Hopefully, they'd be able to find some common ground for them to communicate properly.

"I guess that's a no… But I can tell you're smart." Black cat girl spoke to herself with a pondering expression. In her head citing the instances when signs of Fang's intelligence were displayed. "And I bet you could probably understand me if we tried something else."

Fang watches her, no doubt figuring something out. She heard the young girl mutter to herself. Too deep in thought to notice that Fang could still hear her. "But what could we do? I don't know if there's something universal we both understand… Although… Hmm… maybe with gestures and I could start with something simple… That could work…"

Fang watched Black Cat girl shake her head, before speaking out loud to herself. "Why am I trying to do this again? Is it because I'm a cat Faunus? Probably. But I don't want to sound racist—though I guess I get pass since I'm the one saying it but…

…I'm curious about you." Black Cat girl said out loud, shifting her attention back to Fang. Her gaze soft and imploring towards the rex.

Suddenly getting up from her place near the fire, Black cat girl approached Fang. Who only look on curiously, waiting in anticipation as the young girl sat in front of her.

"I want to try something…" Black cat girl said, as she pursed her lips, before locking eyes with Fang once more.

Fang watched as Black cat girl first made a gesture of her hand to herself. Moving her hand to tap her chest twice as emphasis for something, before speaking.

"I'm Blake." Black cat girl spoke, before repeating her gesture and tapped her chest again, saying once more. "My name's Blake... BBlllaaaaakke." Exaggerating the last bit for Fang.

"Did you get that?" Black cat girl gave a questioning to Fang, still with her hand gesturing to herself, while not trying to sound too repetitive. "I'm Blake… Blake."

Much to the saurian's surprise, Fang understood what Black cat girl was conveying to her. While her manner was different, it was similar to what Mira did in the past when she was introducing herself. Specifically when she was saying her name.

And now, Fang understands Black cat girl was saying her name.

And her name was Blake.

Black cat girl is Blake, which Fang immediately registered in her mind. She let out a low growl in response and nodded her head. Hopefully conveying she understood and felt a bit of joy at this small breakthrough between them to communicate.

Black cat girl—or now dub Blake, blink in surprise. "Wait… so you understood that?"

Fang nodded, still not knowing what the other words Blake said, but understood that she was asking a second confirmation.

Blake tested again just to be sure, gesturing to herself and repeating her name. "I'm Blake. Blake." Nodding her head and wordlessly asking Fang to repeat the gesture to confirm.

Which the saurian responded the same, nodding her head once more with an accompanying croon. "Rrrrooo…"

Blake was in awe. "Woah… I didn't think that would work."

Fang saw the young girl's expression shift to a pondering one. Now wondering how to proceed with this breakthrough. Fang would admit that she was a bit excited of learning how to communicate more with Blake.

She and Spear didn't talk or speak much with their time together and were content with simply communicating through roaring and grunting at each other. But Fang knew instinctually that if she were to survive in this new world, she'd have to learn a bit of the language or at least understand some of the new calls the humans made in this era. They were more talkative and spoke with far more complexity than even humans like Mira. The better Fang understood some of their words, the better she could differentiate the good humans from the bad ones when they are speaking, especially when they don't show or make their intentions known immediately, like with Blake and her pursuers days earlier.

"Okay, I think gestures are a go…" Fang heard Blake mutter to herself again, taking her attention away from her thoughts back to the young girl.

"I wonder? Dragons in stories have their own… but…" Blake then looked at Fang before repeating her name gesture but with an additional act.

She first gestured to herself and then spoke her name once more. "Blake."

Before moving her hand and gestures to Fang herself, with an anticipating look. She repeated this act a couple of times for Fang before the rex realize what she was trying to convey next.

Which was Blake asking for her name this time.

While thinking how bold of the young girl to assume she has one, which she does, Fang raised her head and made a pondering expression—or something similar that her face could anatomically do. Wondering how to answer Blake's inquiry and convey that her name was 'Fang'.

Never has Fang made an effort to convey or knew a way to tell another human that her name before. She had Spear and Mira to do that for her. As to other Saurians, Fang simply roared in their tongue, and the other dinosaurs would get her name simply from that.

Casting a glance at the young girl, Fang could see Blake was feeling proud for another successful attempt of communicating and sporting a satisfied grin, despite their slow progress. Still liking how she saw Fang was thinking of a response and showing more of her intelligence.

Now the rex didn't want to disappoint the girl and the progress she's made. Currently pushing her brain to think of an appropriate answer.

With only one idea that came into mind, Fang proceed to tell or rather convey with the best of her ability to Blake what her name was, the one that she decided on all those years ago.

Fang shifted her large head and showed the one side of her face to Blake, where her most prominent and eye-catching part of her is seen. Her abnormally large lower snaggletooth.

Before in her primordial world, people and other saurians have come to call her by the large tooth she possessed, and Fang has no intention of changing how she is addressed, even in this new world she finds herself in.

She made a lick of her tongue to her large tooth, or fang in this case, for emphasis.

"rrroooo…" Giving a small croon, before mimicking Blake. Pointing her snout first at the girl then roared lightly, as if she was saying the young girl's name. Then gesturing back to herself and licking her large snaggletooth once more, crooning again after as if in her own way saying hers.

Fang repeated this a couple of times, until she felt Blake got the gist of what she was conveying.

She saw the deciphering look in the girl's eyes, watching Blake trying to figure out her gesture. Before hearing her speak with an uncertain tone. "Your name… It's related to that large tooth of yours, isn't?"

Blake motioned to get closer and examine Fang's… well fang; Before pausing and asking a silent permission to, which the saurian accepted. Closing her jaws, allowing Blake to come closer and proceed to inspect the tooth.

Fang felt Blake trail a hand down her tooth, admiring it. "That's a large tooth… but it doesn't sound right calling you that. It kinda looks like a giant stake knife if you ask me."

"Or a Fang." Blake looked at the corner of her eye at the rex, trying to gauge her reaction.

Not realizing that she hit the bull eyes in figuring out Fang's name.

"Fang? Can I call you that?" She asked, repeating the word to the Rex. "Fang."

Though not understanding if it was the right word or not, Fang decided to take a leap of faith and nods her head. Hopefully, the word Blake was saying still meant Fang in their language. She can still take comfort that the word was still related to her large tooth if it was not.

"So Fang it is then?" Blake made a nodding gesture once more, to confirm.

"Rooaar…" Fang crooned in reply and returns the nod. Before bumping her snout at the young girl and gesturing to the roasting meat near the fire.

Blake chuckled at the reminder before petting Fang and returning to the fire to retrieve their dinner for the night. "Right. Sorry, I forgot."

"But can you eat cooked food?" Blake mused with a raised eyebrow at Fang. The rex simply gave low whines bobbing her head at the cooked meat. Shining her eyes in a pleading expression.

Blakes chuckles with a shake of her head, immune to the rex's puppy eyes, but relents. "Alright, alright. Something tells me you've tried cook meals before. But I'm warning you, I'm not a top chef or whatever. So don't expect my cooking to be that great."

Fang still swooned when she took a bite of the barbequed meat, surprising Blake.

The rest of the night was spent eating their meal and continuing their trials at communicating with each other. It was an experience to say the least. While Fang was only able to learn a few words, Blake didn't mind their slow progress and welcomed whatever she's able to teach to saurian. While learning whatever she could of her unexpected companion and Fang doing the same with her own understanding of Blake. Both of them having a growing curiosity with each other and bonding closer than they intended to.

By morning, the two individuals came to a small dilemma.

"So…" Blake stood awkwardly at the entrance of the cave with Fang. Both of them facing each other, no doubt knowing that this was the part were they part ways and go on their separate paths.

But both the cat ear girl and the T. rex didn't feel like parting yet and were unaware how to convey this feeling to the other. Especially when neither knew where they were heading in the first place.

Blake spoke first and pointed to one direction. "I'm heading that way. To a kingdom where I'll make my next course of action… hopefully." With the latter of what she said accompanied with an uneasy look.

That made Fang worried for all the right reasons she couldn't exactly explain.

Kingdom was word she learned from Blake, which most human settlements are called in this world that encompasses a large territory for them. But in between kingdoms, there were still vast amount land to traverse before reaching another. With an even longer journey as result due to the various hazards present when traveling.

The teal-colored rex looked at the direction where Blake was supposedly heading and saw in the horizon that there was still a vast amount of distance to cover, before reaching the human settlement she called a kingdom.

Knowing that she wasn't heading to any particular place in mind and growing to like Blake, Fang decides she could travel with the young cat ear girl a little bit longer before parting ways eventually. She also wanted to make sure Blake gets to her destination as safely as possible, seeing how dangerous the woods are and how effective of a team they are when facing against the dark creatures roaming them.

"ROOOAAAARR!" Liking her plan, Fang roars with amusement to Blake's surprise.

"Huh? —AUHH!" Blake cried out, from suddenly being picked up and flung over Fang's shoulder.

"Ooff…" There was resounding grunt from the girl, who gives a peeved look at Fang for abruptly flinging her. Before noticing she found herself riding on top of the saurian, with Fang giving her a hopeful look that conveyed her intentions of traveling together.

Blake lightly scolded the rex. "You know, a little warning would be nice…" But then she shakes her head and laughs softly upon seeing the sheepish expression Fang was giving her.

"It's okay… I'm just teasing." Blake said, patting Fang's neck in reassurance. Somehow knowing what the rex was thinking, since she shared the same thought. "If its alright with you, I don't mind traveling together for now. And I guess you don't mind me sticking with you a bit longer."

Fang rumbles, agreeing.

Blake then makes a brief pondering expression, as if she just realize something, before smirking as she remarks. "And I do find some advantages of having a giant short arm dragon fighting monsters with me… And I could tell you were happy having a pair of opposable thumb helping you in some situations…"

Fang snorts, as if understanding what Blake just said, and from seeing how she wiggles her thumbs at her teasingly. The rex ignores whatever playful jabs against her small arms, before pointing her snout to the direction Blake was heading.

Blake was intrigue from Fang's decision and surprise that she'd go that far to accompany her.

"So, you're going to help me get to the kingdom?" She asked. "Are you sure you don't mind?"

Fang nodded her head and growled with a willing tone.

Blake smiles back in reply, happy Fang was helping her out of her own volition. "Thank you, Fang. You're a good dragon." Scratching the rex's head in response with gratitude. And right between its eyes, knowing that was one of Fang's hard to reach spots. Liking how the large saurian purrs in content.

"Okay. Kingdom of Vale here we go." Blake said with Fang roaring with agreement.

The rex immediately sprinted down the forest grounds, with Blake initially struggling to hold onto Fang's neck as she rode the saurian. Small gasp and yelps escaping the young girls mouth.

Until Blake eventually finds her balance and the sounds of her excited cheers, demanding to go faster, begin to fill the air.

The time spent traveling with Blake, was something Fang will never forget and will keep close to her heart, as long as she could. While living her second chance in life, in this strange new world she finds herself in.

The biggest reason is that being with Blake, reminded Fang of all the good times she spent with Spear. She also reminded her of him, granted with some differences and Blake speaking more eloquently than Spear ever had. Though they both were the silent type, the rex appreciates of them being.

Plus, now with possessing far more experiences of traveling with humans than she did before, Fang was quick to adapt to working with Blake. While being more respectful of human manners and boundaries for them to work together more pleasantly.

Fang didn't try to establish her dominance with Blake or claiming to be the alpha the pack between themselves. Instead, she immediately went on an equal partnership mentality with the young girl, listening and giving out ideas to each other when making plans. Like where to camp out or what path they would take next. Fang also gave Blake privacy when it is required, and the rex didn't disturb her while making sure she did her own business elsewhere that wouldn't bother the girl.

And as a result of being more openminded than she was with Spear before, Fang had an easier time fitting in with Blake.

She and Blake made sure to take care of each other when traveling in different terrains and making it a rule that they stay together. With Fang even offering Blake to ride on her back when the tree roots have become too big and cumbersome for the young girl to traverse. And in turn Blake would look for areas Fang can go through or alternate routes they could take together, when Fang's bulk made her unable to enter small areas or paths.

How well they cooperated together proved useful in a fight as well, and they were far more efficient fighting the dark creature than they were before they're accidental team-ups.

Fang took point and was the muscle of the team, clearing mobs that were trying to pin them down and taking on the larger threats. While Blake offered support at range with her weaponry and picking on the enemies that were distracted or too focus on Fang. Killing them before they knew what hit them, with Blake even delivering the finishing blow at the large dark creatures worn down by Fang.

Fighting together was also a bonding experience between themselves, just like how it was for Fang with Spear.

But one thing the rex took to heart that made sure she and Blake could travel comfortably with each other, was that Fang didn't steal any of Blake's kills nor interfere with the girl's own hunts and her own time foraging for food.

Lest she creates a rift between them, since wrongfully taking another's game was an unjust treatment Fang knows all too well, that she did to Spear unfairly. And it was a mistake she promised not to do again with Blake. Instead, they often work together when hunting for prey. At times Blake was willing to go on longer hunts with Fang to appease her large appetite.

Then they discovered fishing was something they both enjoyed and have started friendly competition with each other, whenever they come across a stream or a river for them to fish.

Which Fang would most often or not would win their little bouts with an air of playfulness.

Whenever Blake pulls her line and reveals her catch. Fang would drop her jaws in the water and then momentarily bring a larger haul with her. Earning a jealous scowl from the girl, who would later add water splashing to her rebukes at the rex's show boating.

"Show off." Blake would huff or say anything similar with a cute pout.

"Rrerer…" While Fang takes its astride with amusement, making chortle of sounds that equates to her laughing.

Earning an unamused look from the young cat ear girl, who's expressions softens seconds later to an easy grin, not minding the playfulness Fang was displaying.

It was moments like this, that Fang would cherish the most. The peaceful and admittedly fun times she spent with Blake.

Most of them happen at night, were they even sleep close together too, at times with Blake leaning on Fang for body heat or letting the girl lie on her back comfortable. While Fang gets something warm over her for the night. Sometimes, Fang would stay up a bit longer watching the stars with Blake. Other times Blake reads her object, which Fang learned was called a book and that Blake had a few more of them with her, with some occasions the cat eared girl would read some stories out loud for Fang to listen. Even if the Saurian didn't understand most of the words. Fang enjoyed these little session of theirs. Not only because was she bonding with Blake, but she was also learning little by little about the girl.

The young cat ear girl though may often seem aloof and having a loner like personality, she still laughed and smiled just as much as the average person. And despite having a tough emotional guard up, Blake didn't stop herself from opening up to Fang and seeing more sides of her. She had cat like tendencies that Fang would find amusing, like always landing on her feet or having a slight dislike to canines, especially seen when they encounter wolves. She was mostly a silent person, but can get into conversations, or in their case be the one talking most of the time. While remaining patient with Fang, whenever the rex tries to respond in way the girl could understand.

Most often they're bonding sessions also include them working on their communication. And these are the times Fang learns from Blake about a few topics.

After a day's work of traveling or hunting, they would camp and light a fire for the night. Then they proceed to the daily routine they started before going to sleep, of Blake trying to teach Fang more words and some few things about the world they reside currently.

It became easier for them to communicate too, when Blake discovered Fang could understand drawings and simple stick figures, with the rex at times exercising her own poor art skills to help convey her thoughts, with much difficulty. But they were able to go over a few topics because of this, and with Blake having an illustration to accompany her words to associate them.

Or at times with the awkward gestures Blake makes, that was a little embarrassing for the cat ear girl to do.

"Okay, this is a Human. And this is a Faunus… which you could say a human with extra features, like me and my cat ears." Blake said one night, after drawing on the ground two simply figures representing a human and a faunus, respectively. Giving an explanation as best she could for Fang to understand.

Fang would then nod her head if she did understood.

"And there's bad blood between us… you know; Pew pew, eaaarrrrrrhhh! Rawr, rawr! Fighting, swoosh!" Blake resumes while acting out a scenario of the human and faunus clashing, grunting, and creating sound effects, much to Fang's amusement. Seeing the normally quiet and reserve girl acting loud and unusually noisy was a bit endearing for Fang to watch.

Blake gave Fang a deadpanned look upon noticing. "You know it would save me the embarrassment, if you'd just quickly let me know you got the point." Figuring out she was making a fool of herself for 5 minutes.

Fang stared at her, as if she didn't understood what the girl just said. Even though she did in a way.

Blake responds with a finality in her tone. "I'm going stop with the acting from now on."

Aw. But Fang liked Blake's acting. She whined her disapproval, though it was futile against Blake's hardened decision.

Though the rex still learned many things from the young girl, despite the absence of theatrics. And every night Fang would learn a thing or two from Blake, adding more to her knowledge of the world she found herself in.

She learned from Blake that humans called their world Remnant. "Our world has a broken moon, with many fractured and missing pieces. And we have just as many broken and missing legends left from the past. With no knowledge of it and only fragments that remained, of a time we could only hope to see. Which is why we call our world Remnant."

Fang also learned what Blake and the other inhabitants called the dark creatures that live in between the kingdoms and the in lands separating them, as the Grimm. Imprinting the words Blake used describing them in her head.

"The Grimm are humanity's greatest enemy and the biggest threat to our own existence. Why do they exist and seek humanity's destruction? We don't know or much about their true nature really. Only that they are here to stay, lock with humanity in an endless battle."

Blake was able to gesture and convey to Fang, that the grimm were currently the dominant species in remnant and will forever be the enemies of humanity as a whole. And they also can come in many forms, with more variants than the ones she's faced so far.

This information gave Fang more encouragement to kill every Grimm that would come across her, while Blake chuckled at seeing her determined expression and no doubt supported Fang in her endeavor.

When the topics came to human weaponry, Blake struggled to teach Fang some concepts in relation. Like why their weapons can transform and change shape, how it was possible in the first place and all the technical things that even Blake had hard time explaining. Until giving up for it was getting too complicated for her to word or convey properly to Fang.

"Look, hunters and huntress have their own unique weapons and they can come off as weird, unconventional… or traditional. So I can't exactly give you the details about them and you'll have to see with your own eyes to believe. Hopefully in a less threatening situation. Also not every weapon is as impressive as Gambol Shroud or anything else is like it." Blake boasted the latter, much to Fang's amusement.

Added, Fang was also quick to learn that the stick firing weapons Blake and other humans possess are called guns.

And they are most often or not, combined with their melee weapons as well. How they fire projectiles, which are called bullets, and work generally with their mechanism, just went over Fang's head like the other technical babble Blake said regarding their modern weaponry.

"Just… take care of yourself, Fang. Unless you have Aura or bullet resistant skin, you can get really hurt from getting shot or worst… you can get injured fatally. Okay."

"Rrrr…"

Blake warned Fang with an air of caution and concern, and the rex firmly understood that guns are dangerous. And she should be wary of them most cautiously.

Still, besides learning more about Remnant or other matters like how Blake and other humans can have superhuman abilities, there were times Fang would spend the night with Blake and just getting to know more about each other.

One particular evening, Blake suddenly opened up to Fang by drawing some figures on the ground and explaining that it was her family.

Her drawing composing of one large male, one female with cat ears like Blake's, and the smallest one no doubt representing Blake's younger self.

"My dad was a big kind man, kinda like a friendly bear or a fluffy Ursa panther hybrid, and the chief of our home. My mom was a caring woman, sweet but with a fierce protective streak, like all mothers do." Blake said, describing her family with a fond smile, clearly holding them with high regard and lots of love. But her expression turns to one of regret and sadness.

Blake had a guilty expression with what spoke next. "But I left them… for a foolish cause I once believe was right… A-And called them weak—" Blake started to choked slightly from her words, her voice tinged with regret. "Under my delusion of believing that they betrayed us… for turning their back on the White Fang. But I was wrong… They were making the right choice, while I… turned my back on them, and lost everything."

Fang saw Blake make an emphasis by drawing a line between the drawing of her parents and her herself. Which the rex understood that Blake was currently separated from her parents and from the way she spoke, could sense their relationship with each other was strained at the present.

The rex could tell that Blake clearly regrets parting with them.

Blake resumed, still with an uneasy voice, softly speaking. "I didn't even give them a proper goodbye. Or do I think they'll take me back after all I did… I mean, I just left… running away from my mistakes, like now…"

The cat eared faunus was clearly in remorse. For all the choices she's made in the past that led to her now. And while Fang didn't exactly understand all of the words that Blake said, she understood enough of what the girl was saying.

Seeing that Blake was done speaking, hearing no other words coming out of her, Fang gave a comforting bump of her snout and began nuzzling the young girl, much to the cat eared faunus' surprise.

Her gesture was warmly welcomed, feeling Blake beginning to stroke her scales once more, and Fang was glad that she could be of use. Offering whatever little comfort she could give to Blake and letting her presence stave off the negative feelings of the girl.

Because Fang knew Blake was hurting, and she could tell she was hurting for a long time even before meeting each other. From being alone and without your loved ones. It was the same for Fang, and the rex empathizes with the young girl because of it.

If she takes away the cat ears and make the figure of Blake's mother taller than the father in Blake's drawing, Fang will have a close portrait reminding her of the family she just lost. And she was still reeling in at the fact that she couldn't return to them anymore, not with time itself separating them.

Yet despite the great pain felt from the memory of their tragic day of separation, which will always be etched in the deepest part of Fang's mind, it won't stop her from moving forward or being there for someone else experiencing the same pain as she.

Now while she could not offer any words, Fang would do her best for Blake and helped her through her own pain however she could. Curling around Blake, Fang rumbled a soothing tune, hopeful her act would help her feel better.

"Thank you, Fang." She heard Blake whisper softly, in gratitude. Leaning her body to hers and even petting the rex's side.

"I'm sorry for suddenly talking about my family to you…" Blake commented, while catching Fang's eyes. "It's just… it's been a while since I've felt this kind of affection and feeling of safety."

"And surprisingly from a dragon." She adds playfully while petting Fang's snout, feeling her warm scales under her hand. "Call me crazy, but you kind of remind of mom. Strong, fierce and having a sense of motherly protective instincts."

Fang raised an eyebrow at Blake's remark. Causing the girl to giggle seeing her expression. "Ha… You think I didn't notice you watching over me like a mother hen?"

Blake then asked, gesturing back to her drawing, addressing Fang. "Do you have family of your own? Were… you a mother as well?" She adds while circling the drawing of her mom as an emphasis.

The moment Fang saw Blake's action, understanding her question, her eyes widen with slight shock. Blake didn't know how close her question hit the rex's heart, causing Fang some inner turmoil of whether to share that part of her past or not. Feeling a swell of pain rise briefly in her chest before it settles after a moment of thought.

It was only fair for Fang to share her a bit of her past since Blake shared hers and regarding her family. Though she could still refuse if she weren't comfortable about it. Though, Fang wonders if she could share that bit of her past without any spikes of grief or mourning to rise from her chest. It felt a bit that she wasn't ready yet.

And as if sensing her thoughts, Blake spoke to reassure the rex. "It's okay Fang. You don't have to tell me. I'm not sure if you understood what I said, but I won't force an answer out of you if you're not comfortable sharing it."

Blake proceeds to scratch Fang under her chin, discovering beforehand one of her particular spots she couldn't reach, which the rex likes and begins to rumble in content at the girl's expert use of her nails scratching her scales.

"Rrrrrrrrr…."

"Hehe… Fang, I'm starting to wonder who's more of a cat between us." Blake giggled, before ceasing her petting and moving her body to a more comfortable position.

"We should get some rest." She said, stretching her arms above her head before settling down, yawning with a content sigh at the end. "…We still have a lot of ground before… we reach Vale…"

As she heard Blake, Fang felt the call of sleep too and lets out her own yawn as well, before relaxing. Ready to join her cat ear companion to the land of dreams and slumber.

"We can talk more tomorrow. Maybe, you'll get to share something about yourself to me…" Blake whispered last, before falling asleep shortly.

While Fang makes mental promise to at least heed Blake's request and share something about herself. One of these days when she's ready, and something that wouldn't sadden the girl. She wouldn't want to end their brief tenure as traveling companions with the young faunus worrying about her. Fang would rather see Blake smiling than seeing her feel any sorrow because of her past.

Fang could confidently say that she has grown close to Blake and would trust her whole heartedly.

She would dare say Blake was… her friend.

Her very first friend in Remnant, and always will be.

Even when their time together will come to end. Which Fang knew, was approaching shortly.

More time passes as the two continue their journey together, without any setbacks or obstacles too great to handle. Until the inevitable day came, for Fang and Blake to part ways.

As they stood on top of hill, both the T. rex and cat faunus spy the horizon, seeing the large walls no doubt marking the borders of the large human settlement that Blake called a kingdom.

They were much bigger, Fang admits in her mind, than the ones she saw in the small island she first woke up on. And judging from the distance, it would only take Blake a few hours before reaching them, not even taking a full day.

As long as she makes her way now.

Fang knew that was the case and so did Blake.

Turning to address to each other, there was a certain heaviness in the air. Fang never had to part ways with someone she has grown close with before. Or specifically someone she has grown as close to, as Spear.

Most of the time, they were forcibly taken from her.

And either they were killed, or they meet again miraculously, before something happens again that would lead to another separation.

"I guess this is it." Blake spoke, her expression sad and sounding reluctant.

She adds with forlorn smile. "We… made a good team together, didn't we."

Fang gives a small snort in response, before gentle bumping her snout at Blake. Her way of saying goodbye.

"Rrrrr…." Fang rumbles as she nuzzles Blake, as she returns it with small petting. Both trying to soothe the small bit of pain in their hearts, for having to say goodbye to each other.

In truth, Fang didn't want to say goodbye. She didn't want to leave Blake's side. She felt alone long enough, and she was starving for affection and companionship, since the day she woke up in remnant. When she woke up to world that has drastically change, where all her dear friends have died, and even her own kind disappearing from the face of the earth. Never has she felt so much relief with making a new friend, and Fang wanted to go with Blake and see more of her world.

Fang thought, to hell with what other humans would think or care if she came strutting into their kingdoms and settlements, she didn't care as long as she was able to stay by Blake's side. But she knew better that action would cause more problems for her and her new friend. And the cold hard fact that she and Blake belong to different worlds.

Fang couldn't stay with Blake. It wouldn't work even she wanted it to. Among humans, saurians will stand out… or worst.

Deciding to get it over with, Fang reluctantly pulls away from Blake, seeing the young girls own downhearted expression. She rumbles briefly, preparing to leave.

As Blake decides to say some last words. "Fang, I—WATCH OUT!"

Fang only had second to look confused.

Before a searing pain hits her side, as large maw clamps down on her side and its owner tackles her.

"FANG!"

Fang heard Blake cry out to her, as her body rolls down the hill with whatever creature that dares to attack her and ruin the touching moment she had with the young cat faunus.

Rage begins to bubble within Fang, ready to unleash it to the poor shumck who would receive her ire. Until the sudden feeling of her body being coiled, sends warning signals to the rex, with panic and fear settling instead in her chest. The moment they landed on flat ground and the dust settles; Fang got a clear view of what was attacking her.

And to her dismay and spiking fear, it was a snake.

And not just any snake, but it was a giant freaking GRIMM SNAKE. It's serpentine body already coiling around Fang, with the pressure of squeezing her insides out growing stronger each second.

Then much to her current traumatizing experience, Fang catches from the corner of her eyes something else approaching her.

It was another Snake.

Or rather she thought it was another snake… Only to turn out it was ITS OTHER HEAD!

And she could see one head with black scales, as she cranes her neck, biting at her side. And the other head with white scales, was the one approaching her menacingly.

Fang would have fainted then and there, if not for the amount of pain she was experiencing at the moment. And the glaring detail that snake she was fighting was CONJOINED!

At both of their ENDS!

How does that work!? Which end does the food go!? Which end does the waste come out?! She hopes its not the head, CURRENTLY clamping its jaws on her side! Fang was able to spot where the black scales meet white scales in a pattern plait of grey scales, clearly not saying any tail or whatever anatomical hole for these things to void.

Fang's panic increased with her growing disgust. While her mind is overloaded with the absurdity of this abomination of a serpentine devil.

It was already a snake! Fang wondered what kind of sick god would make something worst!?

"ROOOOAAAAAAARRRR!" She couldn't help letting a fearful shriek escape her maw. Since her fear just intensified and is squeezing the life out of her, both mentality and physically.

And just as she thought things wouldn't get any worst, Fang heard more hissing coming from behind the trees. Training her eyes at the tree line, she saw numerous other smaller Grimm Snakes approaching her being.

Making her realized she was in a social gathering of serpents, with her as the main dish for them to share.

"ROOOOAAAAARRRR!" With renewed panic intensified, Fang begins to struggle to get loose from her captor's coil around her. Only making it worst for her, not realizing she was just tiring herself out the more she tries to fight against the crushing pressure her body was experiencing.

She felt her strength wanning and her ragged breathing, as air is forcefully being expelled out of her lungs. Feeling herself closing her eyes, Fang waits for the inevitable as the white head snake looks to be ready to lunge at her and...

*BANG!

Fang opens her eyes at the sound of gunshot. She saw the white scaled head snake pull back, with one of its eyes shot and bleeding, recoiling from the pain.

Then Blake descends right beside her, letting loose a war cry with both of her blades drawn. "HAAAAHHH!" Before stabbing them on the black scaled head snake biting her side.

"HISSSASSSSS!" With a painful shriek, the grimm snake jaws let's go, trashing around and freeing Fang. As Blake pulls her blades free and leaps away, dodging its violent movements.

The Grimm snake slithers away creating distance between itself and Blake, as the girl stands protectively in front of Fang against the monstrous conjoined serpent, while the rex recovers. Both heads gave a venomous glare at the young faunus, no doubt pissed at the injuries it received. They were agitated and their actions reflect their current state of mind of wanting vengeance against the girl.

With resounding hiss of command, Fang watches the Grimm snake send the smaller members to attack Blake. While Blake simply meets them head on, slicing grimm snakes left and right. Firing bullets, one shotting snakes and scattering their numbers.

The giant grimm snake joins in the assault and launching itself at Blake, intending to swallow her whole. But the Cat faunus expertly dodges, leaping away expertly like a ninja, while leaving copy of herself behind to take the blow. Undeterred, the grimm snake continues its attempts to lunge at the girl, while Blake responds by unfurling her ribbon and shifting her one of her blades to a scythe like form, resembling a Kusarigama.

She begins to weave her movements in a deadly dance, keeping distance between herself and the Grimm snakes assaulting her, while swinging her blade chained to her ribbon in deadly arcs and eviscerating those who get too close. Several serpents leap to sink their fangs on Blake, but with swift movements their bodies are cleaved in two. Their being disintegrating to ashes, blown away by the wind. Many more fall, as Blake manipulates her weapon into a lethal whirlwind of slashes, cutting more Grimm snakes and their numbers. Even the giant Grimm suffers from a myriad of cuts and wounds as Blake eloquently dodges its attacks and retaliates with her own, using the recoil from her gun to maneuver her Kusarigama to deal blows on her opponents blind spots.

As she was recovering on the ground, Fang thought she was watching an ancient tribal performance of death. Were Blake being the dancer, was performing in front of her would be crowd before she massacres them with a thread holding death's scythe.

The rex for a moment, was too enamored by the display of carnage to move or do anything. Even as their surrounding begins to be muddled by the amount of Grimm ash filling the air. Fang continued to watch to Blake's determination to defend her.

Until she noticed the young faunus begin to wane in her movements, especially against the giant Grimm Serpent and its numerous underlings. For every grimm Blake kills, the alpha Grimm snake would attack with two more at its side, forcing the girl to create distance or forced to disengage her whirlwind assault and attack with her blades in a melee.

Fang felt herself standing back on her feet. Pushing through the pain to go and aid Blake. Despite her fears against snakes, she knows this was not the time to be afraid. Her friend needs her help, she owes her for saving her life, and she knows she has lot of rage to unpack against these aggressors.

"ROOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRR!" With a primal roar Fang charges straight ahead to the biggest target. Her approach going unnoticed until the last second when both heads of the Grimm snake spot her and make a panic expression.

Fang lunges with her jaws open and chomps down hard, on the Black scaled head of the grimm snake, who attacked her earlier. She doesn't let up and quickly stomps her foot down on its body for before pulling and violently ripping off the head from this end of its body, not leaving it the chance to scream or hiss in pain.

Its other half does it for it, twice more from the shock of the abrupt beheading.

"Fang!" Blake cries with relief, happy to see the Saurian standing.

And she watches as Fang resumes her assault and bites down again on one end of the Grimm snake's body. Clamping down tightly before swinging it with all her might, lifting into the air before slamming it back to the ground in violent slams. With each blow the white scale head is beaten to a pulp slowly. Its jaw dislocating, its head repeatedly smashed, and with black blood like liquid spattering out its orifices from each successive slam meeting the ground, before dissipating into smoke.

As if letting out steam for all the grievances it caused, Fang continues to trash the giant snake's body around. Attempting to mimic Blake and her ribbon twirling movement, though more ungraceful and causing more harm to the Grimm snake quarry in her jaws. And to the surrounding smaller Grimm snakes who are bludgeon and crushed to the ground with Fang's metronomic smashing of their alpha. While a few were getting stomped under her feet as they change their tactics from attacking to fleeing.

Only for Blake to clean up the stragglers and eliminates them in swift succession.

"ROOOOAAAAAARRRR!" With a muffled roar, Fang slams the Grimm snake down one last time, the ground caving beneath it from the force. Before its body begins to disintegrate to ash, finally dead and couldn't take any more damage from the thoroughly pissed rex.

Fang takes shallow breaths, attempting to regain some composure from violent bout. She scans the clearing and sees that all their enemies are either dead or gone, out of her sight.

She lets out a roar, announcing her victory. "ROOOOOAAAAAARRRR!"

While Blake approaches her, smiling with relief that the battle was over, calling out. "Fang!"

Fang turns her attention back to Blake, a surge of happiness coming over the rex and relief as well that she was okay. She was glad that Blake came to her rescue and felt nothing but gratitude towards the girl. She makes her way, closing the distance between them, before pressing her snout once more to Blake, nuzzling her.

Blake eagerly returns with her own petting and holding Fang's snout in comfort. Reassuring the rex. "I'm fine girl, and I'm glad you're okay too. You gave me quite scare."

Fang rumbles agreeing. Knowing that she just fought an unholy abomination of all her worst fears rolled into a conjoined one.

They remained close together for few moments, basking in the respite after their fight. Before they reluctantly pulled away, knowing what they were supposed to do next before the untimely interruption of a grimm attack.

Blake looks to Fang, sporting a regretful smile. "I think this time, we really have to say our goodbyes… But I'd like to say, thank you Fang. I wouldn't have made this far without your help. I had fun and you may be my favorite traveling companion. And I doubt anyone would be able to top you."

Fang rumbles in thanks, feeling the gratitude and appreciation in Blake's words. She moves and gives an affectionate lick to the girl, surprising her. And much to Fang's delight, Blake doesn't recoil in disgust and takes it astride. Giving the rex one last scratch under chin and hearing a delightful purr in response.

"I'm going to miss you Fang." Blake said, sincerely.

Fang shares a look with Blake in response, gazing at her gold colored eyes that were similar to her own. Imparting her own message to the girl.

'I'll never forget you.'

Astonishingly, Blake understood and responded in kind.

"And I'll never forget you too."

With all words said and imparted, Fang slowly lifts her head away from Blake and with an air of reluctance …begins walking away. Disappearing into the forest once more.

Her stride was unflinching, not taking a moment to turn around or be tempted to look back if Blake began to leave as well. Fang knew if she did, it would be harder to part ways with the girl, and she didn't want to delay Blake's arrival to human kingdom she was heading. Though her steps felt heavy and her heart even heavier, Fang knew this was the right thing to do.

They had a nice run; it was fun and enjoyable. She never thought she'll be able to bond with a human who came to be as likable as Spear. Fang hopes she would see Blake again someday and meet other kind strangers like her.

Maybe if she sees the red hood girl again, she'll agree to be her friend if she still asks her to be.

But until then she'll have to go on her own. And there was still much for the world for her to explore anyway. Fang hopes she'll find a better place to stay.

Hopefully with no snakes this time.

Blake stood rooted on her spot, waiting if Fang would suddenly comeback and plead to her of wanting to stay together. And Blake would admit that she had mix thoughts should that ever happen.

She found one part of herself wanting for the teal-colored dragon to comeback. Going for an insane decision of bringing Fang with her to Vale, despite the untold panic and fear it would cause to the local residents of the kingdom. While not thinking about the needed necessities and requirements to take care a large dragon. Much less any laws she'd have to follow in relation if they have any.

The other part of her knew that it was better that Fang remained free in the wild. That it was the right choice to part ways and let her roam Remnant free, without her and her extra baggage of dealings with the White fang and her own war against its corruption. She didn't want to bring any harm to her new friend, because of her own self-imposed crusade.

Once she was sure that Fang wasn't coming back, while burying some of her disappoint, Blake turns away from the direction her friend disappeared to and began to make her way to Vale.

She offered a small whisper to the wind, as if asking it to relay one last message to Fang.

"Take care. And hope to see you again someday…"

Before disappearing once again into the shadows of the forest.

On an all-new chapter of Primal Fangs and Bullets...

dun dun dun dun dun dun dun…

(Intense tribal drumming.)

Qrow Branwen thought he's seen everything. From eldritch Grimm abominations spawned from the murky depths of the ocean to a lizard Faunas regrowing his entire tail in one sitting, which took him an entire bottle of vacuan firewater to forget... partially.

Yes, for an experience huntsmen like him, there shouldn't be anything else that could surprise him out of his wits.

Yet, his bad luck says otherwise.

At least he wasn't the only one seeing the strange scene before him.

But he couldn't help but ask his companion. "Winter. Did your father buy your sister a pet dragon to defend her? Actually where the hell did the guy find a dragon anyway?"

"That's absurd, my father wouldn't buy me or Weiss a pony when we were kids, much less a dragon! What makes you think that?!" Winter replies, feeling at lost too, with what she was witnessing.

Qrow grimaced, not liking what was happening next. "Well, that dragon is suddenly on top of that airship." He adds pointing out. "You know, the one with your sister inside."

"WHAT!?"

Inside said airship.

"What in Remnant is going on?!" Weiss shouts to the pilot, feeling the explosions rocking them and hearing the heavy sounds of their ship being pounded on top by something big.

The pilot answers, while struggling to maintain their flight. "Miss Schnee we are being under attack by the White Fang."

"What?!"

"And there's a dragon fighting them on top of our ship too."

"WHAT?!"

Next Time:

A COLD RECITAL

DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN!

(Intense tribal drumming, Intensifies!)

Author's notes:

Okay, and that's the chapter! I hope you enjoy it and had fun with Blake and Fang interacting. I will admit it was hard for me to write how they will communicate or act around each other because of Fang being a T. rex and Blake being a person.

I will note that most of Fang's interactions would be in a similar manner with the rest of cast of RWBY. And some people she would like and warm immediately, like with Blake. And others she would learn to like while having some initial skepticism, like in a future chapter with Sun Wukong.

*I think you guys can guess why Fang would dislike Sun at first.

Fun note: 'Shiryo' means 'fodder' in Japan. The White Fang leader chasing Blake, name is Brother Shiryo. And he ends up being the first casualty and 'fodder' during Fang's first battle in this chapter.

Like I said earlier, I would be updating my other fics first before this one. Or I may be posting a new kind of fic related to another fandom I'm hook in. Regardless, updates would be slow, and I hope you guys understand that fanfic writing is my hobby, so I won't be like writing 24/7. So just be patient before the next update.

Normally I post a fic or an update once a month. SO you can probably expect the next chapter for Primal Fangs and Bullets in another month or so.

That's all for the author notes. I hope you guys look forward to the next chapter.

See you in the next chapter! Fav, follow, share this story, and comment if you do! I appreciate them, but no flaming or being rude okay, .
