Author's Note: Ressler's mom arrives and so do some changes.

Let me know what you think!

SSSSSSSSSSS

Don Ressler collapsed next to her on their bed satiated and exhausted. In the last three days, Liz's sex drive had been in over-drive and he hadn't gotten nearly as much sleep as he was used to. Today, she had woken him at 4 am, unable to sleep because her body was humming with need. Her reaction to everything seemed stronger as well, and she commented yesterday that she always liked sex, but this was the best sex she'd had in her life.

As exhausted as he was, he was laying next to her wide awake when he heard her soft snores. Which was also what was new. She wanted sex immediately and then fell asleep almost instantly afterwards. Don knew they didn't have months of experience with each other, but he knew this definitely had to do with being pregnant. She had him naked more then she had him dressed the last few days. And today his mother was coming to visit for 4 days, and they needed to find some way to control what was going on with her sex drive while she was here.

Don turned onto his side to see her blissfully asleep. The woman who scratched his inner thigh and made him bleed she was in such a hurry to remove his underwear. She felt bad about that, but it was a clear indication to Don that whatever was going on inside of Liz was a force to be reckoned with. He slowly got himself out of their bed and padded naked toward the kitchen where he turned on the coffee maker and leaned against the fridge waiting for his first cup. He was dirt tired but so tired he couldn't sleep tired.

Minutes later, he relieved himself and put on his bathrobe, going to the living room to sit and enjoy his coffee in the dark, knowing his day had started and hoping he could get through it on only a few hours sleep. Not that he didn't like the sex, he did. A lot. Liz seemed more vocal, more in-tune with everything he was doing to her, and deeply grateful for him dropping everything to help her at all hours of the day. And it had been all hours of the day. They had to come back to the apartment at lunch for the last 3 days. Sometimes there had been sex in the morning, or mid-day, or right after work, or in the evening, and sometimes in the middle of the night. And it was great sex. Just a lot of it.

Don could tell she was, at first, embarrassed by her need for him and trying to control it or at least reign it in so it wasn't so overwhelming and frequent. But when he finally commented that she should just let go and follow her libido, he had no idea what he had opened the gates to. Don reached for his phone and did a quick google search and discovered that this was completely normal for many women and could last until birth, or leave as quickly as it arrived, or come and go throughout. It was the hormones and the lubrication and the high sensitivity that was creating this new sex drive in her and most articles indicated that he shouldn't worry about it and try to help her as best he could.

Don wiped at his eyes. He was going to have to find more opportunities for sleep throughout the day if he was going to keep up with this schedule and not collapse from exhaustion. He loved her, loved making love to her, loved the reactions he got from her, and loved that they were sharing this special time together. He loved everything about this, except that he needed more sleep to keep up with her because she fell asleep right afterwards and got a cat nap or full rest in while he was wide awake and continuing forward with his day. Don got up and headed for the shower, they needed to change their bedding and finish cleaning up their apartment before his mom got into town and they needed to get ready for work.

Hours later he and Liz were standing in the train station at the spot where he normally picked up his mom waiting for her. Liz pulled at her newly-dyed hair and fixed it.

"You look gorgeous," Don said as he placed an arm around her waist and pulled her against him.

"I think he went a little too short," Liz said.

"It's hair, it grows," Ressler smiled down at her.

Liz nodded.

"So, you told me she was worked part time as a book keeper for some small businesses growing up and now she still does that but also works at a library part-time?" Liz asked.

"Yeah, Robby and I are trying to get her to choose one of the other and start to retire," Ressler said. "She also sits on the church committee and volunteers at a women's shelter."

"Jesus Christ, no wonder you're an over-achiever," Liz smiled up at him.

Don laughed as he spotted his mom's bright red hair coming through the crowd.

"There she is," he pointed to the petite woman with a shock of red hair pulling a wheeled carry on behind her.

Ressler walked toward her and Liz followed.

"Hey ma," Ressler smiled as he pulled her in for a hug and also simultaneously took the handle of the bag from her.

"Donnie," she smiled at him as they pulled apart. "And Liz."

She looked at Liz standing a foot behind Ressler and smiled and stepped around her son and hugged Liz.

"I hope this is okay," she said as she hugged Liz. "We're Irish and big huggers."

Liz laughed and wrapped her arms around the women who was slightly shorter than herself and smiled. "I know where he gets it from, now."

Lisa Ressler pulled back and chuckled.

"You're beautiful, honey," she said as she looked carefully at Liz. Then she turned to Don. "She's gorgeous Donnie."

"Yeah, I know, ma," Ressler chuckled.

"Uh, thanks," Liz said embarrassed.

"Did you know Donnie sent me pictures of you?" Lisa asked.

"Yeah, I did," Liz smiled.

"They don't do you justice sweetie, neither does the TV. I'm sorry about all that nastiness they put you through and I'm glad they finally said you were innocent," Lisa smiled at her. "You have the glow."

"Thanks," Liz said.

"This is a better colour on you," Lisa said as she looked at Liz's hair.

"I went back to my natural colour," Liz smiled, happy Lisa wasn't dwelling on the manhunt.

"It looks good on you, and I'm sure it's easier for you," Lisa said as she linked her arm through Liz's and started to walk toward the exit talking.

"Nice to see you too, ma," Ressler joked as he followed behind them with her bag.

"I know you," Lisa said over her shoulder. "I want to know Liz. And not the lies the TV people told everyone about her."

Liz laughed at their banter and answered Lisa's questions as best she could about how she was feeling. Lisa sympathized with the vomiting, apparently Lisa's first pregnancy with Robby had been the same. She advised Liz to eat whatever she liked because it's the only time in your life you can be fat without judgement. Liz laughed and knew she liked Lisa already.

"And is your mother happy as well?" Lisa asked. "Does she live in DC?"

"My parents are both gone," Liz said. "And I'm an only child so there are some aunts and a couple of cousins, but we've grown apart over the years…"

"Oh sweetie, I'm sorry to hear that," Lisa said honestly. "You know, Donnie told me a few things about you over the years, but it was mainly work things, and weren't you married?"

"Yeah, I divorced him," Liz said, hoping she was not going to hold that against Liz.

"You never liked him, did you Donnie?" Lisa asked over her shoulder.

"No ma, I didn't" Ressler yawned.

"I remember Donnie said he thought you deserved better," Lisa said. "Glad you got better with my Donnie."

Liz smiled at her. "Yeah, he's pretty amazing."

Lisa smiled at the young woman's assessment of her son. She thought he was as special as his mom knew he was.

Ressler drove everyone to their apartment and got his mom settled before he left to go back to the Post Office; Liz was taking the rest of the day to be with Lisa and now that she met her was happy she had.

Ressler read a notice that had been placed under their door. The condo building had a new owner and wanted all owners to know that there would be no rise in condo fees at this time as they assessed the buildings condo fund and made recommendations.

"They're putting up the condo fees," Ressler said as he handed the letter to Liz.

She read the paper while his mother set out her vitamins and medications on the counter.

"Well, you're going to have to move anyways, there isn't enough room here for a baby," Lisa said.

Liz handed him back the paper. "It doesn't say they'll be going up."

"New owner? Yeah, they want to get more money," Ressler sighed. "Ma, we're going to stay here and see how it goes with the baby before…"

"Donnie, you need to be realistic, throw a playpen, an exer-suacer, a crib, a high-chair and any toys in this place and you'll not be able to get around each other," Lisa sighed. "I've never been one to tell you what to do, but a little baby takes up a lot of space."

Liz and Ressler stood looking at his apartment and thinking of everything she had said they'd need, and both knew she was probably right but weren't in a place where they wanted to deal with that. Liz felt safe here and she dreaded moving anywhere else. Don liked his mortgage payments here and winced when he thought about housing prices elsewhere in the city.

"Maybe you're right ma," Ressler conceded as he stifled a yawn. "Liz and I will have to think about it."

Lisa nodded and put on the kettle.

"Liz, do you drink tea?" Lisa asked.

"I love tea," Liz said. "I have a tea stash if you look in that drawer."

Lisa pulled it open and smiled. "A girl after my own heart."

Liz smiled and looked at Don; it was going well.

"Okay, I need to head back," Ressler said as he placed a hand around Liz's hip and kissed the side of her face. "Ma, we made a reservation at Piccone's for tonight."

"You don't have to," Lisa said. "Honestly, I can cook…"

"Nope," Ressler said. "Relax and enjoy your time. I'll see you both at 5."

He winked at them and left.

Lisa looked at Liz smiling long after her son left and knew the young woman wasn't just going to be the mother of her first grandchild but that she was completely in love with her son.

"So, tell me everything he hasn't told me," Lisa laughed as she gestured for Liz to sit down while she got them tea. "Why is he so tired?"

Liz laughed, she was not going to tell Lisa why her son was so tired.

"Did he tell you we found out I was pregnant after he arrested me?" Liz chuckled.

Lisa smiled and sat down opposite Liz. "No, but I bet it's a good story."

Liz chuckled. "It is."
