Hey!
Thanks for coming back!
Rey has always liked Ben Solo.
Liked? Adored is more like it.
Adored? Love. Rey Holdo has always, head-over-heels, loved Ben solo.
At first it was because he was her first true friend even if he thought the girls at school were gross, but she wasn't. Even if it was only when she was at his house. Or he at hers.
Then it was because when girls and boys wasn't gross anymore, he was the one she wanted to talk to when the day was said and done.
Then in high school when the group would gather around the two old friends, they always had each other.
Until Poe and Baz that is.
But here she is after all this time in his arms, his lips on hers… she pulls back, surprising him. He opens his mouth and his grip on her loosens. "Shhh—" she says as she puts her finger over his lips. "I've always wanted…" her words trail off as she kisses his forehead. Then she kisses that space between his eyes before she kisses each eyelid. She leans back enough and he opens his eyes so they can see each other in the dim light from the lamp behind them. Then she kisses him on each of his cheek bones, right under those whiskey colored eyes that drives her crazy.
Her fingers are in his hair again as she pulls his lips back to hers. She moans when his tongue touches hers. He pulls her close, his hands on her hips and she knows that he's going to leave bruises.
He's the one who breaks the kiss. "Rey?"
Her head swims like the night her and Rose drank too much rum. But she's sober, and loves what is happening.
"Ben?" She answers, as she touches her forehead to his, where their breaths mingle.
"Can I, have you?" His whisper does so many things to her. It mostly makes her wet, but her heart speeds up, and it feels like an elephant sits on her chest, taking all of her breath.
She nods and stands. Not wanting to lose contact, she grabs his hand but he leads her to a hallway under the stairs. They go through a door that opens up into a huge bedroom overlooking the rest of the lake.
Two lamps on either side of the bed are on, welcoming them in. Another set of French doors that she noticed earlier face the deck and the lake while on the other adjacent wall, is a huge picture window.
She walks over to the huge window. "Oh look," Rey says.
He stops and she doesn't miss the worry that flashes across his face. "What?"
"Paige's cabin. I can see it from here."
"Oh," he exhales. "I thought you changed your mind." He comes back to her side. "Have you?"
"No." She says as she reaches for him. "Do you know how long I've wanted this?"
"What?" He whispers.
"You in my arms." She reaches up on tiptoes so she can kiss him again. "Ben?"
"Rey?"
"I need you."
"I want you," he answers. "I haven't seen you naked since we were ten," he chuckles.
"Ben!" She giggles. His parents wanted a date night, so Amilyn said Ben could spend the night with them. Ben wasn't paying attention…
"I didn't mean to walk in on you getting out of the shower," he explains. "I forgot you were in there."
"Well, you were ten, I don't think you did it on purpose."
"What if I told you that I did."
"That's not fair. I want to see you naked now."
"That can be arranged," he murmurs as he kisses her again. She reaches for her shirt, but he says, "Let me. I've been dreaming about this for years."
He slowly unbuttons the first button on the blouse she wears. Unable to be still, she touches him. At first, it's his arms. Then her hands hover at his waist band, but he gives her what could only be his dad-look. She has to smile, but also listens to him as she mutters, "Fine."
Finally, he eases her shirt over her shoulders. Instead of fiddling with her bra, he ghosts his hand down her sides until he reaches the waistband of her shorts. He reaches the hem and tugs them down.
"You still have long legs," he whispers as he steps back to look. She's in her bra and underwear and as much as she wants to hide the pudge left over from two ten-pound babies, she wants to be in his arms more.
"Is it my turn yet?"
He smirks and does that little bow thing he copied from his dad and her heart skips a beat. She steps into him, and steals a kiss before she lifts up the hem of his t-shirt. As much as she wants to nuzzle into his chest, she instead pulls down his shorts. He steps out of them and she kicks them to the side.
Her jaw drops as her eyes take him in. There's a definite bulge in his boxers and it's doing things to her. She slides her finger along the elastic of his boxers and doesn't miss his goosebumps that erupt after she touches him. One of her fingers stops right under his belly button, she peeks into his underwear.
"Is that all for me?"
"God, I hope so." His voice is harsh in his obvious need.
She meets his eyes and then looks down as she slides the elastic away from his abs. All the moisture leaves her mouth, along with all the air in the room. "Dear Lord, Ben. You grew up." she looks up to meet his eyes.
"I guess you could say that," he murmurs. Then he reaches in between her breasts and releases the clasp. He smiles as they are freed. "But I like your surprises more."
She moves and covers herself. "Ben—"
"No, no more hiding. Did you breastfeed the girls?" He gently tugs her wrists away from her body.
"I did. Why?"
"That's why they're bigger," he says with his smirk. "And usually afterwards they remain sensitive."
"I wouldn't know. Poe left before Greer was born," she mutters looking down. His hands, those same ones that she always longed to hold are now on her breasts.
Those same hands move to her waist, and pull her close. "He was always a dumb ass."
She wraps her arms around his neck. "Ben?"
"What?"
"Let's not talk about anything else but how good you feel right now. Take me to bed, Mr. Solo."
"Mr. Solo is my dad."
"Sorry." She grins. "Doctor Solo. Take me to bed."
They land together on the king-sized bed behind them. Lips are on lips, hands are everywhere. He kisses down her neck until he reaches a nipple. He sucks it into his mouth, and she arches against him, pleasure that she hasn't felt in years, flood her. "Be easy with me," she says. He doesn't release her, but he does meet her eyes. "It's been awhile."
He stops nibbling, and kisses her sternum. "It's been a while for me too," he admits. "I'll never hurt you, Rey."
"I know you won't." She cups his cheeks, and looks into his eyes. So many things bump around in her head, in her heart that she wants to say to him. But instead, she kisses him again because she's already decided that for the rest of her life, she's going to kiss Ben Solo as much as possible.
He's touching her everywhere he can. Her breasts, her hips, in between her legs. She rolls over, and opens herself up for him. His long fingers sink deep inside her and she moans when he hits a spot only her vibrator has found before him. "What did I find?" He mutters against her skin.
"Fuck Ben. I'm not sure but it feels good," she grunts as her eyes roll back and pumps her hips. He pulls out and her eyes fly open. "I need you."
He kisses the corner of her mouth and climbs in between her legs. Then he freezes. "Fuck. I don't have any condoms. I didn't think—"
"I'm on the pill. I know I'm clean, I have to get a physical every year for school."
"I just had one for the hospital." He rubs the head of his cock along her slit making her squirm when he bumps her clit and it only makes her want him more. "Are you sure about this?"
"Yes, Ben," she says with a smile. "Fuck me, make love to me, let's knock boots— I just need you inside me."
"Rey," his whisper, low and reverent, makes her blink back tears. He leans over to kiss her. It's a simple kiss compared to the others they've shared this evening. But what steals her heart is when he rests his forehead against hers, their breaths mingling. He hits that spot again and while she wants to close her eyes she doesn't ever stop looking at him again.
It's one of those moments that she knows from now on, her whole entire life's path has been altered. Or maybe it's been corrected. Maybe all along it's supposed to have been Ben. More tears fall, but he doesn't stop moving, doesn't stop holding her because there's tears in his eyes too.
He speeds up the more he moves and she knows that he's getting close. That's when she lets herself chase her own pleasure and allows herself to tumble off the cliff when he does. He collapses on top of her and she wraps her arms around him, his weight a comfort that she doesn't think she could ever describe or ever needed.
She isn't sure how long they lay there, but she knows she never wants to leave him again. But… "I have to go pee," she says under him.
"Nope, you just think you do."
"I have to go pee, and there's going to be a wet spot."
"There's probably already a wet spot." He squeezes her tighter. "I don't care. You can sleep in the wet."
"Ben Solo! Get up." He finally raises his head, and she loves the joy she sees in his eyes. "I'll be right back. I promise."
"Fine." He rolls over. But instead of letting her go to the bathroom alone, he follows but waits outside the doorway. When she's done, he turns on the light, joining her in the bathroom. She can see where her tears made her mascara run, while his eyes are a whole shade lighter than his normal whiskey color. "Why did you cry?"
"You're everything I've ever wanted. Why did you cry?"
He meets her eyes in the mirror and she watches him kiss her shoulder, then her neck where he comes to kiss her cheek. "Because I'm finally home."
She turns in his arms and as her lips land on his, he lifts her and carries her back to his bed.
She watches the sky welcome the sun from his arms. As much as she wants to stay, she knows how hard it is to answer little one's questions. She eases out from his embrace and already misses his touch. But before she can stand, a pair of arms grab her. "Ben," she says breathlessly. "I've got to go."
"Stay," he whispers against her skin as he tucks her under him.
"The boys?"
"Love you."
"They're pretty amazing themselves." She thinks for a moment. "Let me go take a shower and I'll be back." His arms tighten and he kisses her temple. "I promise."
"Do you want to eat breakfast with us?"
"When have you ever known me to turn down food?"
"Never?"
"Never. Text me when it's ready. Or better yet, when you start cooking." This time he lets her get up. Then he watches her gather her clothes from last night. She sees her phone on the bedside table and mom guilt creeps in. "Oh no."
"What happened?" He sits up ready for anything.
"I didn't call the girls last night. What's your password for the Wi-Fi?"
"Vad_er2013"
"That's weird." She's checking her notifications. "They didn't call and Poe didn't message me. Zorii must have had company over last night."
"You can use my house phone to call—"
"I'll go use Paige's." She glances at the clock. "I doubt they're up anyway."
"What's wrong?" He asks as he scoots to the edge of the bed to sit beside her.
"He swore that he- that she wasn't going to do this anymore."
"Who is she and what did she do?" She loves how he sounds like he's ready to go to battle for her.
"Zorii, Poe's new wife," she can't help the sarcasm that creeps into her voice. "Likes to have dinner parties and invites the important people from work to come. Which is fine, but then she says that the girls are hers. She doesn't even let them call her mama. Not that I want them to do that either." She meets his eyes so full of compassion she cups his cheeks. "You don't know how many times I wish things could be different. But then I wouldn't have my Juniper and Greer. But I've also learned that the what ifs will kill you." She presses a kiss to his lips. "Let me go be the rude ex and call them at 6:30 AM on Saturday. I wonder if Zorii will cuss me out?"
"Rey—" he starts. "I wish I could fix this for you."
"It's ok. And it's not even that bad. I've heard some horror stories from my high schoolers."
"Trust me, it can be bad." She hates how sad he sounds.
"I still can't believe she signed away her rights like that. Those boys of yours are too sweet—" Memories of her past and old feelings that she thought she'd dealt with Mom in therapy leave a bitter taste in her mouth.
Now she knows why she just wants to hold Wyatt and Jackson.
"Mama!" Greer answers Juniper's phone. "Where are you?"
"Hey Greer-shortcakes. It's seven o'clock on a Saturday, why are you awake?"
"Daddy's taking us to Dollywood."
There's a screech and she can hear what could only be a scuffle. "Hey, Mama," Juniper says. "Daddy's taking us to Dollywood."
"That's the rumor I've heard. Are you on the road?"
"We just left."
"Alright," Rey breathes, willing the frustration she felt while at Ben's to go away. "Have fun and call me when you get home. Hey, I might be at a friend's house, but they have Wi-Fi. So, call me on google."
"Bye Mama, love you," Juniper says and she can hear Greer echo her sister's sentiments.
"Every weekend," she says to the quiet cabin. When she agreed that Poe could get season passes a couple of years ago, she didn't realize that it would turn into a-every-weekend-he-has-the-girls-thing. It's fine, really. But sometimes she wonders if the girls wish she could go too. She could, but living on a teacher's salary even without a house payment is tough.
They like to eat and have clothes, after all.
She never could have afforded even renting a cabin-by-the-lake on her own. Thank goodness for best friend's big sisters.
Then she never would have seen Ben.
Sure, they probably would have met in the grocery store or at school sooner or later. But this, by the lake with his boys. Her heart flutters when she thinks of his kisses.
And now that they had last night, she never wants to let him leave again.
The boys come barreling downstairs. They split up as they look around like its Christmas morning. "What are you two doing?" Ben asks.
"Where's Rey?" Jackson asks. Wyatt is right behind him. He even looks in the pantry.
"She'll be here in time for breakfast."
A knock on the door keeps Ben from continuing. Artoo comes barking, while Jack opens the kitchen door. "Lala! Papa!" He wraps his arms around both of their waists.
"Lala! Papa!" Here comes Wyatt to launch himself at Han. Who, somehow catches the kid without hitting Jack.
"Mom, Dad. Why didn't you call?" Ben says. He's happy to see them, just a deep part of him is glad that Rey snuck out at six AM. He's not ashamed or anything like that. But it's so brand new, he wants to keep her to himself for a little bit longer.
"We figured we were expected. Besides, you know I can't go a single day without seeing these two!" Han says ruffling Wyatt's hair then Jack's. "Plus, we have to go fishing."
"I want Rey to go fishing too!" Wyatt exclaims, wiggling out of his papa's arms.
"Rey?" Leia asks. Her brow rises in question. "Rey's here?"
"No Lala!" Jackson drags her over to the glass doors overlooking the lake. "She lives there."
"Paige Tico's cabin? Why is Rey staying there? Where are the girls?" Han asks, worry making him follow Leia and Jackson to the glass doors.
"What a mess," Ben says under his breath. "Paige is letting her use the cabin for the weekend. It's Poe's weekend with the girls. No one's moved anywhere but me."
"That makes sense." Leia guides Jackson back to the table.
"Look!" Wyatt exclaims, still looking out the doors. The whole family goes back to watch Rey coming back to them.
Warm fuzzies make him smile.
No one has to tell him that from this moment on, his life will never be the same again.
Leia and Han greet her at the glass doors with hugs and kisses. The boys greet her with hugs around her legs. He greets her with a brotherly side hug.
Even though he wants to throw her over his shoulder and go spend the day in his king-sized bed overlooking Bear Lake.
Instead he asks, "Do you want some bacon with your pancakes?"
So, I have a confession to make… I was listening to Ben Solo's theme and then Ben and Rey's love theme from the movies when I wrote their first coming together- and I cried. I really did! It was so sweet, then these two waited for so long to find each other again… anyways, I hope you enjoyed it!
