Chapter 10
Building By A Beach
Everyone then stood with their backs against the beach, while Sarge stood in front of them, with his back towards the building. "Okay, listen up, dirtbags. If we're gonna invade this fortress, we need a good game plan."
"Why do I have the feeling you don't have one." West said and Sarge said. "No. I've got two great options we could use. Number one, we all run straight at the base in a single file line screaming at the top of our lungs. The enemy will be so flabbergasted, by the time they have the chance to regroup, we'll already be inside.
"Oh, yeah right, they're not gonna get surprised, they're just gonna start mowing us down!" Tucker said to Sarge. "That's the inherent beauty of the single-file line. They can only kill the person in front! So, if we order from least important to most important, with Tucker in the front, and me being in the back, then we just might make it through." Sarge said.
"Don't you think Caboose should be in the back, since he's carrying the bomb?" Simmons asked Sarge. "Nope, Caboose is in front of me. We need someone in back who can objectively evaluate how the plan is working!" Sarge said. "How're you gonna know if it's not working?" Tucker asked. "If Caboose dies, I'll know we're in trouble, and immediately abort." Sarge said. "I think that's a good plan." Caboose said to everyone. [Yeah for the coward in red.] West said annoyed with Sarge.
"Sarge, while that's most retarded idea I've ever heard, I just wanted to thank you for nt putting me in the front of the line." Grif said to Sarge. "Don't get misty, Francine. We'll have already killed you and used your corpse to jam up the windmill. I think we can all agree, given our current situation. It's the perfect plan." Sarge said to everyone. "Sarge not to be a critic here, but since the enemy has machine guns, if we charge at them in a single file line, we're going to be a conga line of swiss cheese." Jack said to Sarge. "Please Tex, tell me you have a real plan." West said to Tex and Tex said to him. "Yeah, I have a plan."
"Now hold on, I have another plan that is better than the last one. Using parts from the warthog, we can build something I like to call, the Grif cannon." Sarge said. "That's it. I'm going to kill him!" West said, as he moved towards the Warthog machine gun, but Jack stopped him by grabbing the back of his suit. "Utilizing the power of the Grif cannon, we make a Grif-sized hole in the outer wall. Or we… paint it a very disgusting color."
Meanwhile inside the building O'Malley was talking to his men about they're counter attack. "The fools, they don't stand a chance against us. Do they, men?" O'Malley asked everyone. [No. We will crush them.] Lopez said. "The flag is on our side, we will be victorious!" The red said. "Stupendous! To your battle stations, on to crushing victory! The fools don't stand a chance against our might!" O'Malley said to everyone as he laughed.
Then O'Malley noticed his men weren't moving. "What are you still doing there?" O'Malley asked them. "I forget, which battle station is mine? I'm still learning my way around the fortress." The Red asked. [I need someone to carry me. I have no sorso.] Lopez said.
Back outside the Reds and Blues were divided into two teams. One team Sarge, Jack, Donut, Caboose, and Infernape. The other team. Tex, Tucker, West, Grif, Simmons, and Empoleon.
"Okay, is everyone ready? Jack, Donut, Caboose, Infernape and I will move the bomb down the staircase, and along the left side of the base." Sarge said to everyone over the radio. "Please, hurry… I don't know how much longer I can talk like this…" Caboose said with a straining tune in his voice. "You know you don't have to talk like that right?" Jack asked Caboose.
"Man, that does look heavy. You really should consider wearing some kind of supportive undergarments." Donut said to Caboose. "Uh- no thanks, I can do it…" Caboose said to Donut. "Come on now. Don't be shy! You can borrow one of mine! I'm thinkin' something with lace. Lace is totally in right now." Donut said to Caboose.
"Ooh, sniper rifle!" Tucker said as he tried to grapped, but West grabbed it and said. "Tucker, maybe you should leave the sniper rifle to someone who can shoot it." He then handed it to Tex. "Like Tex." Tucker was not happy, but Tex was.
"Copy that, Sarge." Simmons said to Sarge over the radio. "Simmons. You and the four bullet-magnets move up the right side, and try to cause some kind of distraction." Sarge said over the radio. "Any suggestions?" Simmons asked over the radio. "As long as it draws their fire away from us and towards you, I don't care." Sarge said over the radio. "Yeah, cause an explosion, trip the alarm, wave your arms in the air. Just do something." Jack said over the radio. "And maybe try some dance moves! Ooh! You can do a musical number!" Donut said over the radio. "Get off the radio Donut." Sarge over the radio. "Donut we are not turning this operation into one of yours Grimer plays." Jack said over the radio, before the radio was turned off.
"All right, here's the plan. Tex, you take the high road and cover us, or shoot us whatever you decide." West said and Tex said to them. "I won't shoot you, unless you run, then I'll shoot you." To say the others were scared was an understatement. Tucker then said to the Reds. "You know. I miss the old days, where we didn't risk our lives, and you guys were all just a bunch of nameless assholes I would yell at with Church."
"It's okay. We hate you too, man." Grif said as West pulled out his pistol. "Okay, let's move out!" Sarge said, as they all moved with their weapons, locked and loaded. O'Malley noticed this and said. "Here they come. Get ready!"
"Prepare to be cleansed, infidels!" The red said as he manned the right side machine gun. [I will not let them cross the border.] Lopez said as he somehow manned the left machine gun.
"Sarge, we are in position." Simmons asked Sarge, whispering in the radio. "Roger that. We are also in position. No sign of the enemy." Sarge said to Simmons.
"Man, this is the easiest fortress invading mission of all time." Donut said. "Maybe for you… this thing is heavy for me…" Caboose said to Donut, before dropping the bomb. That got the attention of the red operating the machine gun. "Careful with that thing, Caboose!" Sarge said to Caboose, as Donut, Jack, and Infernape, noticed the red. "Uhh… Sarge?" Donut said to Sarge. "Sir we have a problem." Jack said. "Yes we do. Caboose could blow us all to smithereens!" Sarge said to Jack. "Not that." Jack said to Sarge. "Sarge, I'm sure that guy up there with the gun… sees us..." Donut said to Sarge, not that Sarge was listening.
"If you wanna blow people to smithereens, at least make sure Grif is nearby." Sarge said to Caboose. "Duck!" Donut said to everyone as the red started to shoot at them. "What the?!" Sarge asked, as everyone got down, everyone but Caboose who stood up and looked around. "A duck? Where? I love ducks." Caboose said getting up. "Get down, idiot." Sarge said to Caboose as Infernape hit Caboose in the back of his legs knocking Caboose to the ground.
With the other team, Lopez was shooting at them, somehow. "We're under fire! Sarge! We're under fire!" Grif said as he, Simmons and Tucker hid behind a rock and West was shooting at Lopez. Sarge then said to them. "Good, now jump up and draw them off."
"What'd he say?" Tucker said to Grif and Grif said to them. "He was breaking up. I think he said to stay here, and not do anything risky."
"Knowing your Team. I highly doubt that." West said as he took cover and reloaded his pistol. He then said to Tex over the radio. "Tex, I can't shoot Lopez from this position, can you take him out?"
"No problem." Tex said as she shot Lopez, which stopped the gun. Grif then said to Tex. "Nice shooting, Tex."
"Tucker, you, West and Tex head up across that bridge. Try to take out that other turret. We'll head into the base and see if we can find O'Malley." Simmons said to Tucker and he said to him. "Why do we go against a machine gun and you two get to play hide and seek."
"Tucker, the guy they are seeking, has and knows how to use a rocket launcher. So we got the easy part. Now let's go." West said as he grabbed Tucker. Back with another team. "Caboose, we'll hold them off from up here. You take the bomb, and try to sneak in the front of the base." Sarge said to Caboose. "Okay." Caboose said, as he took the bomb and left. "Wow, Sarge… you actually decided to sacrifice yourself for someone else!" Donut said to Sarge, as Caboose left. "Quiet, Donut! I'm gonna need your and Jack's help. When the turrets kill Caboose, I'm gonna need you two to carry the bomb into the base." Sarge said. "I should have known that was the real plan." Jack said to Sarge.
"Do you have a clear shot, Tex?" West said as he and Tucker joined her. Tex then said to them. "No, let's move up." Tex and West then moved through the hole in the windmill and Tucker followed them. But he wasn't paying attention and fell into a hole. Tex and West returned to him and Tex said. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I just fell in a hole. Can you two help me out?" Tucker said and West said to him. "No. Stay there and will be back after we take care of this gun." Then they both left Tucker and he noticed something in the back of the hole.
"Okay Grif, we just need to jump through here." Simmons said to Grif, as they stood in front of the windmill. "Okay, go for it." Grif said to Simmons. "Me? Why me first?" Simmons asked. "Because… I don't wanna die." Grif said. "But this thing's moving super slow! See?" Simmons said, as the blade of the windmill very slowly moved past them. "Nice knowing you, Simmons." Grif said.
With the others, the red was shooting at Tex and West. "No! Shoot the guy with the bomb! You're ruining the plan!" Sarge said to the red. "We're pinned down! We need assistance!" Tex said. "Jack do something." West said to Jack, over the radio. "I don't have a clear shot." Jack said to West, over the radio.
Then Tucker appeared next to the red with the machine gun. "Hey, asshole!" Tucker said, getting the red's attention. Tucker then pulled out a handle, and two energy blades came out of it. "Huh?" The red said before Tucker charged, slashing the red, knocking the red off the platform. The red scream as he fell to the ground "Ugh My quest is over… I can see the flag… it's so… flappy…" the red said before he died.
"Hey! Where'd you get that?" Tex said as she met up with Tucker and West entered the base. Tucker then said to her. "I dunno, I found it in the hole. Pretty Cool. Look what I can do." Tucker then swung it around. Tex then said to Tucker. "Hey, wanna… trade it for the sniper rifle?"
"No thanks, I'm good." Tucker said as he kept checking out his sword. Inside the base, Caboose was looking for the X. "X… I'm looking for an x…" Caboose said. Caboose then found the X but the way he was looking at it, it was a Plus sign. "That is a plus sign. Not an x. I need to find an x…" Caboose said as he found the computer. "Hello? Caboose, is that you? Can you hear me?" A voice from the computer said to Caboose. "Church?" Caboose said, recognizing the voice.
