Chapter 15

Building By A Beach

At the building the Reds and Blues were having team meetings, with the Blues talking about Tuckers energy sword and explaining to Caboose that time isn't made out of circles. When Caboose said to Church, Tex was looking at the sword. "So, you went back in time and didn't change… anything?"

"Uh, yeah, I was just like a… passive observer." Church said and West said. "Church for the hunder time, you didn't travel in time."

"Then explain what happened, asshole." Church said to West and West said. "Your robot body must have connected to Gary, so everything you went through was a simulation where you were trying to fix everything."

"Oh, please like Gray would do that. Hey, Tucker, I don't think it's a good idea that you're keeping that thing." Church said as he ignored West and talked to Tucker. Tucker then said to Church. "You're just pissed cause you don't have one."

"No, you must have me confused with Tex- she's been staring at you non stop since you found that thing." Church said as Tex was still looking at the sword. Tex didn't bother talking to Church and West said. "Yeah, besaide if that thing is important to an alien race. They are going to be mad at you for taking it."

"Oh, please. If any alien wants this thing, they're gonna beat me for it." Tucker said before swinging his sword, but he lost his footing and fell down. "That would be a very short fight." West said and Tex got an idea.

Back with the Reds, they were gathered around the Warthog, everyone, but Donut. "Men, thanks for meeting on short notice so covertly." Sarge said to everyone. "No problem. Had to move my lunch with the pope, but, uh, he was cool with it. He owes me. I helped him pick the hat." Grif said. "Shut up." Simmons said to Grif. "Yeah, like you can do anything, but eat and sleep." Jack said to Grif.

"I don't want the Blues finding out about this meeting. So, I want all of us to agree, here and now, we're gonna keep this between ourselves." Sarge said. "Sir, I don't know if you're noticed, but we're not exactly "buddy-buddy" with those guys anyway." Grif said. "Eh, I'm not really in the market for new friends. I'm not sure that I'm happy with the current crop." Simmons said. "I don't care either way." Jack said. "No offense, Sarge." Grif said.

"Grif, tell us what you discovered on the radio." Sarge said to Grif. "Me?" Grif asked. "Um, actually, I'm the one who heard the distress signal." Simmons said. "Uh-huh. Well, see, I thought-." Sarge said, but Grif interrupted him. "Yeah, I can't use the radio." Grif said. "Yeah, I discovered the distress signal. That was me." Simmons said.

"I don't know how I got that mixed up." Sarge said. "It's okay sir, as long as everyone's clear who heard it first." Simmons said. "Sorry about that, Simmons." Sarge said to Simmons. "Why do you care?" Grif asked Simmons. "Yeah who cares who heard it first?" Jack asked Simmons. "No, really sir, it's no problem. I think it's important to get proper credit, when some of us are working hard, discovering the distress signals on the Warthog's radio, while others are hanging out in the back seat, monkeying about." Simmons said to everyone.

"Okay. First off, "Monkeying about"? And secondly, I don't think listening to the radio classifies as "working"." Grif said to Simmons. "Yeah you were just looking for some music to tune out me and Grif while we were talking about Dukes of Hazzard. And seriously "Monkeying about"? Sounds like a super old phrase." Jack said to Simmons.

"It's a modern phrase." Simmons said to Jack. "Billshit! That's what you said about horse doodling!" Grif said to Simmons. "People say it all the time." Simmons said. "What people?" Grif asked. "Oh, lots of people, all the time. But nobody you would know." Simmons said to Grif. "Is that because they're dead and trapped in their coffins and can't leave you?" Jack asked Simmons, making Grif laugh a little.

"All right, that's enough. I think we're all clear now. Simmons is the one who heard the distress signal, and Grif and Jack were the ones monkeying around." Sarge said to everyone. "About." Simmons said to Sarge. "Say who now?" Sarge asked. "Monkeying about." Simmons said. "Yeah, people say it all the time, Sir. You want to get it right. Otherwise, you'll sound like a jackass." Grif said, as he looked at Simmons.

"Can we please get back to the purpose of this meeting?" Sarge asked. "Yeah, what is the purpose, exactly?" Grif asked Sarge. "I wanted Simmons to tell us that he heard a distress signal on the radio. Okay, go ahead, Simmons." Sarge said. "Umm… I heard a distress signal, While listening to the radio." Simmons said. "I know! Me and Jack were in the car with you when you heard it! In fact, why are we even having this meeting? Everyone here already knows you heard the distress signal on the radio!" Grif asked.

"I just want to make sure everyone is on the same page." Sarge said. "Same page? There's only one page! You know what the page says? Simmons heard a goddamn distress call on the radio! The end." Grif said. "Well look, down there at the bottom, it also said "P.S. Grif and Jack were monkeying about"." Simmons said. "Still sounds old." Jack said to Simmnos. "Well, I can see why we don't have lots of meetings, the only person who doesn't know is Donut, and he's not even here!" Grif said. "That's because I asked Donut to distract the Blues, so we could have this secret meeting!" Sarge said

"And that's the story of how I saved Christmas!" Donut said to the Blues. West then said as Caboose was amazed with Donut story. "Donut, why are you distracting us with a weird Christmas story?"

"I'm not distracting you!" Donut said and Church said. "Yeah, you are. While we're sitting here, jabbering, the reds are over there, monkeying about!"
