Day 4: "hey beautiful, are you single?", "we've been married for a year." + fun

Enjoy!

"But I don't like carrots," Maddie heard Jee-Yun say. She walked into the kitchen to find her 3 year old sitting on the kitchen island counter and Albert sitting across from her. The two had been having a discussion on food.

"Baby, they're good for you," Maddie told her as she sat next to Albert. Her daughter had recently taken to disliking anything that even sounded like a vegetable.

"They don't taste good for me."

"It's okay, Jee-Jee, I don't like vegetables very much either." Albert told her. Maddie shot him an annoyed look. He looked away sheepishly knowing he wasn't being helpful.

"That's the fifth thing she's decided she doesn't like this week."

"Well, us Han's have a very refined palate, don't we Jee?"

"Yep!"

"Says the guy that practically eats anything."

"I didn't say they stayed refined."

Before Maddie could respond there was a knock at the door. A look passed between Maddie and Albert, Albert shrugged his shoulders.

"I'll get it!" Jee-Yun enthusiastically went to hop of her stool.

"No you won't," Maddie stopped her, "I got it." She got off her stool and walked as fast as her pregnant belly would let her, thinking that maybe Chimney forgot his keys when he left. "Hey, babe, did you forget your-"

"I think this one belongs to you." Maddie's eyes widened in shock and amusement as she watched her, obviously, drunk husband hanging off of Hen's shoulders.

"Uh, fun night?"

Maddie hid her laughter behind her hand as she took in Hen's annoyed look, "let's just say when he let Dumb and Dumber rope him into the drinking games, all bets were off."

"And I won, too." Chimney slurred. The state he's in now makes her pretty glad they're not in apartments anymore.

"I can see that." Maddie chuckled as she motioned for them to come inside, moving out of the way. Hen brought Chimney in and dropped him on the couch. His groan let her know that she was in for a long night.

Maddie shook her head, "thanks for making sure he got home. Speaking of Dumb and Dumber, where are Eddie and my brother?"

"Asleep on my backseat. I'm taking them to Buck's place. Taylor's there to make sure they don't hurt themselves. You good here?"

"Yep, we'll be fine."

"Alright, see you later. The longer I stay in here the more chance I have of those idiots throwing up in my car." Hen left out the front door, closing it behind her.

Maddie came further into the living room to find her husband stretched out, half his body hanging off the sofa. She heard a snicker in the background and turned around to see Albert standing in the doorway of the kitchen, holding Jee-Yun, phone in hand, most likely filming.

"Is daddy okay?" Jee-Yun asked.

"He just had a little too much fun, he'll be alright." Albert answered.

"Oh."

"Well, well, well," she turned her attention back towards her husband and found him looking at her with a smirk, "hey beautiful, are you single?"

Maddie rolled her eyes and chuckled, walking towards him, "we've been married for a year." She held up his hand pointing at the silver band there.

He gave her look that could only be described as surprise. "Damn, I did good."

"Let's get you to bed."

"You joining me?"

"Come on, you." As she went to help him up, she got of whiff of just how much alcohol he'd had. He absolutely reeked of alcohol and her smell sensitivity due to her pregnancy only made it worse. She also had to deal with him basically being dead weight.

She looked towards Albert, "you could help me."

"I am being helpful," he said, continuing to film her struggle.

She sighed as she guided her staggering husband through the living room, down the hall, finally making it to their bedroom. He flopped down across the bed on his back. Maddie walks to the dresser to find his pajamas. Pulling him up, she starts to help him out of his clothing.

"If you wanted me to take off my clothes, coulda just said so." Chimney makes an attempt at a possible strip tease, but his pants got caught in the shoes he hadn't taken off, sending him tumbling to the floor. "I meant to do that."

Maddie tried her best not to laugh, but completely failed as she helped him up. She was able to get him out of the rest of his clothes and into his pajama pants.

Knowing that he would need pain medicine in the morning, she was going to the bathroom to get it when he grabbed her wrist, "hey, I thought you were joining me."

"I'll be right back." In time it took her to go into their bathroom to get pain killers and some water, he'd passed out. She sat the medicine and water on the bedside table. She covered him with a blanket and left their bedroom.

As soon as she reached the living room, she sat down on the couch. Albert was sitting on the loveseat, still as amused as ever. She could hear her and Chimney's voices coming through his phone, a playback of the video he'd recorded of them earlier.

"You better not post that to Facebook," Maddie told him as she sat down on the couch.

"I'm not," he closed the video, dropping his phone next to him, "this is definitely going on Instagram."

Maddie was going to respond, but decided against it, knowing her brother in law had likely already posted the video. Instead, she decided on, "put Jee-Yun to bed?"

"Yep. She had some questions about what type of fun her daddy had. I did the best I could, but be prepared for that tomorrow."

Just thinking about dealing with her hungover husband and inquisitive toddler asking a thousand questions, Maddie was already over tomorrow morning.
