The camera opens up on a shot of Autumn-colored leaves floating through the breeze. The camera pans down, past trees filled with similarly colored leaves, to show a long abandoned summer camp in the mountains.
Suddenly, our intrepid host, Chris McLean pops up from below frame.
"Welcome to Camp Smash!", said Chris, emphasizing the 'smash'. "This is the site of season one of (hopefully) many on Total Drama Smash! As always, I'm your host, Chris, and (unlike that hack Don) I'm hosting this Total Drama spin-off! Twelve of the original line-up of Super Smash Bros will be competing here at Camp Smash for one million dollars. Who will prove they can truly smash!? And who will be shot out of the arena? Find out right here!
Cue theme song.
"Welcome back to Camp Smash!", said Chris, still in the exact same location. "We're not losing any time on this show, so let's meet our contestants!"
A rickety, old school bus pops up, creaking and spewing smoke. The doors open, revealing two Italian plumbers.
"Hey, you couldn't find better transports for gaming icons like us?", said Mario.
Luigi, who is coughing pretty hard from the smoke, suddenly passes out.
Confessional (Luigi): Oh, I'll probably be the one voted out first on this game. I just hope I do enough to finally get out of my brother's shadow.
The bus suddenly creaks and groans more than usual, as a large, brown ape wearing a bright, red tie appears.
"Donkey Kong! Glad you could make it, guy!", said Chris. Donkey Kong doesn't say anything, only scratching his head in puzzlement.
"Uh, are we sure he can understand us?", said Chris. Mario, who's helping Luigi to his feet, shrugs.
The doors to the bus suddenly close. "Aw, man, the doors are jammed again!", said Chris.
The doors suddenly slice in halves as a sword cuts through them, then burst apart from a ray blast, revealing a young adult in a green, medieval outfit and a person dressed all in futuristic armor.
"Link and Samus! Already making quite the double team, I see." Link walks up to Mario and gives him a high-five, while Samus goes off to the side, saying nothing.
A cute, green dinosaur walks off the boat, carrying an even cuter, pink puffball on his back.
"Yoshi, Kirby, welcome to camp!", said Chris.
"Yoshi!", said Yoshi.
"Hi!", said Kirby, jumping off Yoshi's back. "When we going to eat?"
"In a minute, Kirby!", said Chris, as the sounds of more people getting off the boat are heard. "Also competing this season..."
"Fox!" An anthropomorphic fox wearing a pilot's outfit nods to the camera.
"Ness!" A little boy is playing with a yo-yo, until he notices the camera on him and waves.
"And Captain Falcon!" Captain Falcon strikes a pose, and says, "The winner of this competition has arrived! You all better quit now, or you're going to get burned in the arena... by my Falcon Punch!" Strikes a punch, which is encased in flames.
The other smashers look shocked by the punch, and applaud.
(Link): A fist that can sprout flames is admittedly hard to beat.
The figure in Samus' armor merely rolls its eyes.
"Finally, on the list of competitors, we have Pikachu and..." Notices that Pikachu is alone. "Hey, where's the other puffball?"
Cut to inside the bus, where another pink puffball is soundly sleeping.
The camera cuts to outside, where the bus has left. Jigglypuff is now outside, wide awake.
"Before we head into our first challenge, let's take a tour of our facilities...", said Chris.
"Hey, Chris! Can I come out now?!", yelled a voice from offscreen.
Chris sighs. "This season we will be bringing in a competitor from the main series of Total Drama, to assist me, help in challenges, etc. Please welcome Sam everyone!"
Sam, the nice guy gamer, suddenly appears, and shakes the hand of every person there. "OMG, I am such a huge fan of you guys! I've played all your games, even the ones that suck!"
"Why was he brought back? Didn't he bomb in that one All-Stars season?", said Fox.
"Well, when he found out we were doing a video game season, he begged and pleaded and got pretty annoying real fast. Since he agreed to wok for little to no pay. we let him come on."
Sam, who is staring in amazement at the characters, is suddenly pushed aside by Chris. "Any who, we'll start that tour now!"
The campers are then seen in a montage following Chris around the camp.
"This is the mess hall, where you will eat authentic summer camp meals.", said Chris, outside a large building.
"This is the gymnasium, where we will perform may sports themed challenges.", said Chris, outside an even larger building.
"And these are your cabins!", said Chris, outside two rustic-looking cabins. "Speaking of which, I should probably divide you twelve into teams. If I call your name, please stand in front of the red cabin: Link, Yoshi, Luigi, Samus, Fox, and Jigglypuff!"
The six campers went to stand in front of said cabin.
"The rest of you: Captain Falcon, Ness, Kirby, Mario, Donkey Kong, and Pikachu, please stand in front of the blue cabin."
The six campers do so, followed by Chris saying, "In true Smash fashion, one team will be red and one team will be blue. Now, let's head to your first challenge!"
"What about all our luggage?", said Luigi.
"Don't worry, they'll be taking care of. Chef Hatchet is bringing them down as we speak.", said Chris.
Cut to Hatchet lugging a particularly huge suitcase on his back. He trips, and the luggage bursts open on the ground, revealing a stockpile of bananas.
"Who the heck wants to carry all these bananas?!", he yells.
Cut back to Chris and the campers. Chris is about to walk to the first challenge, when Link speaks up. "I don't know about you guys, but I don't feel comfortable fighting physical challenges against a little kid.", he said, jerking a thumb at Ness.
"Hey, I deserve to be here, just like the rest of you. I have PSI.", said Ness, waving his finger around, which produces a sparkling effect.
"Wow, that's really great, kid.", deadpanned Falcon.
"All right, guys, it's time to shut it!", said Chris. "Let's head to challenge number one."
The camera cuts to a large field on the edge of the camp. Sam is already there, shoveling mud onto some sort of structure.
Chris walks up from behind, and scratches his chin. "Good job on these fortresses, Sam."
The camera pans out to show two fortresses on opposing sides of the field.
"Thanks, Chris!", said Sam. "It took me all day to build this."
The sound of muttering voices appears. "Oh, shoot!", said Chris. "It's the campers!" He proceeds to push Sam into the fortress, as the twelve smashers arrive. "Hey, campers, look at these sweet fortresses I built for you."
"Hey!", said Sam, running out of the fortress. "I built these buildings of war, not you! I really wanted to impress my video game heroes."
(Mario): Given Chris' track record on this show, I think I believe the gamer more.
"Today's challenge is a hard one.", said Chris. "You simply have to sneak into the opposing team's bunker, and capture their flag. You can also win by capturing every member of the other team."
"Well, how are we to capture them?", said Kirby.
"Glad you asked, you cutie-pie; there is a crate of paintball supplies in each bunker. You are hit with a paintball, you are out of the game, i.e. captured by the other team. Use your paintball supplies sparingly, however, as you only have a limited supply. Now, you each have ten minutes to review strategies in your bunkers. Now, move out!" He blows an airhorn, causing every camper to run off... except Jigglypuff, who is fast asleep.
"Uh, Sam, could you pick up the other puffball, and take him to the red bunker.", said Chris, with Sam reluctantly complying.
The camera cuts to the red bunker, where Sam walks in, drops Jigglypuff on the floor, and leaves.
Meanwhile, Link, Samus, and Fox are standing around a crudely-drawn map on the ground.
"All right, if we attack head on, a small group can sneak into the blue compound and eliminate the threat.", said Fox.
"Yoshi, will you be my steed in our stealth mission?", asked Link.
Yoshi, who is examining the paintball products with Luigi, nods.
"So, what am I supposed to do?", said Luigi.
"Um, no offense, Luigi, but...", began Link, only for Luigi to grow cutie eyes. "Fine, you can come with me on the stealth mission."
"Ya-hoo!", said Luigi, bouncing up into the sky.
Cut to the blue compound, where all the teammates are gathered around their own crudely-drawn map. All the campers are paying close attention, except for Falcon, who is kissing his biceps.
"I think we are all agreed that someone needs to stay and guard the flag at all times.", said Mario.
"I nominate Donkey Kong!", said Ness. DK gives a thumbs up.
"I've got a strategy as well!", said Captain Falcon. "You all follow my orders, as I lead to victory with my punches and kicks!" He then pulls off some admittedly impressive moves, all with flaming touches.
The rest of the team is not amused.
"Um, guys?", said Kirby, looking through a telescope. "The other team's drawbridge is coming down."
And so it was...
Cut to the other compound, where Samus, Fox, and Jigglypuff run out of the base, followed discreetly by Link and Luigi, riding Yoshi.
"Donkey Kong, you stay here. The rest of us, attack!", said Mario, running out of the base with almost all of Team Blue.
Team Blue runs across their drawbridge, not noticing Link, Yoshi, and Luigi hiding behind a bush. Link immediately flings a grappling hook up onto the side of the wall. "Yoshi, you stay here. We'll be right back.", said Link, as he and Luigi began to scale the wall. Yoshi salutes.
Soon, the duo is over the wall... only to immediately run into DK. The gorilla growls at them, and picks up a nearby barrel. He flings it at them, and they cover beside a ridge.
Barrels continually pummel the ridge.
"Where does he keep getting barrels?", said Luigi in fright.
Link grabs his trusty bow and arrow, waits for an opening, then fires. The arrow strikes DK's arm, causing the big gorilla to drop his barrel on his head. He falls to the ground, twitching.
"OK, Luigi, run and get the flag.", said Link, as Luigi does so.
The green plumber, however, stops just short of DK. "What if he wakes up? Then he'll pummel me?", said Luigi.
"Just don't think about that now.", said Link.
"I... I can't do it.", said Link, as DK wakes up, grabs Luigi, and throws him into the sky.
Link gasps, then grunts in pain as DK shoots him with a paintball gun.
"We'll, hopefully, the rest of the team got away.", said Link.
Cut to outside the compound, where Samus, Fox, and Jigglypuff are about to be cornered.
"All right, you living balloon!", said Fox. "If you have any special powers that can help us, fire away."
Jigglypuff then begins to... sing.
"What, singing?", said Fox. "That's your..."
Fox then fell asleep, followed closely by Samus. Jigglypuff continues his hypnotic singing, only to be stopped when Luigi crashes into her from above. The other team encircles them, and blasts them with paint fire.
"And time's up!", said Chris, walking up with Sam. "With almost all of their team covered in paint, I declare Team Red the losers and this game over."
Team Blue cheers, as Yoshi walks up from his hiding place and sighs.
The camera cuts to the campfire ceremony, where Team Red is assembled on faded-green bleachers. Chris walks up carrying a collection of marshmallows.
"You've all cast your votes, and made your decision.", said Chris. "The following campers are now safe... Fox, Samus, and Link!"
He throws them their treats, as well as throwing one to Yoshi, who licks it up with his tongue. "Yoshi, my Dino, you're safe as well."
Luigi and Jigglypuff both look extremely nervous... well, Luigi does. Jigglypuff is sleeping.
"The final marshmallow goes to...
... Luigi!"
"What?", yelled Luigi, completely confused. "You guys kept me on?!"
(Fox): It just came down to logical deduction. Luigi cost us the challenge, but Jigglypuff is the most useless.
"So long, Jigglypuff.", said Chris. "You must now head back to the loser bus, immediately."
Jigglypuff snores. "OK...", said Chris.
Cut to the Balloon Pokémon ties to the front of the bus, still sleeping, as the yellow school bus zooms off. Chris is laughing uproariously. "It's the little things in life..."
