The camera opens on a shot of the nighttime sky. The camera pans down to show the summer camp in it's entirety.
It zooms in to show the two cabins, before zooming further to the Red cabin. It shows Yoshi curled up on the rug in the center of the cabin, dozing peacefully. It then pans out to show all the Red campers sleeping equally peacefully. Link is cradling his sword like a teddy bear, Luigi is sucking his thumb, and Samus is lying flat on a metal platform, hooked up to many machines.
The camera then pans out of the cabin, and over to the Blue cabin. Inside, Captain Falcon is muttering something about ponies, Donkey Kong is sleeping amidst a pile of banana peels, and Pikachu is snoring inside his Poke Ball.
Suddenly, an air raid siren begins to blast somewhere in the camp. Screaming and running can be heard from inside the cabins, before the eleven campers run out into the night.
Cut to the main field of the camp, where Chris is turning the air raid siren into the loudspeakers. An exhausted looking Sam walks up from behind Chris, and pulls the plug of the siren.
"Hey! What gives, dude?", said Chris.
"Why didn't you wake me up before you did the siren?", said Sam, indignantly. "I'm part of the staff now."
"Well, I could've done that, but it's a lot funnier to wake you up like that.", said Chris, causing Sam to sigh and walk away.
Suddenly, Link, Samus, and Fox jump into frame, brandishing their respective firearms.
"Woah, woah!", said Chris, looking especially nervous as the weapons are pointed at him. "It was just a wake-up call!"
The three lower their weapons, as the rest of the campers walk up.
"Greetings, Smash Bros!", began Chris. "This week's challenge is..."
Out of nowhere, Falcon runs up, wearing boxers printed with hearts and breathing hard. "Sorry, I got lost back there.", said Falcon, only for everyone to start laughing at his boxers. "What?"
"Any who...", said Chris, rolling his eyes. "This week's challenge is a hike."
"Sounds simple enough.", said Fox.
"Through the dense wilderness, full of booby traps and obstacles Sam has set up.", continued Chris, as the campers groan. "There are two paths through the forest that lead back here. Blue Team takes one path, and Red Team takes another. First team back from their midnight hike wins."
Chris is about to leave, when he turns around again. "Since Blue Team won the last challenge, they will receive an advantage in this challenge." Chef and Sam walk up carrying a crate. They open it, revealing...
"Who wants flashlights?", said Chris.
"Nice!", said Ness, as he roots through the crate.
Pikachu grabs a flashlight, though he accidentally shines it in his eye, causing dizziness.
"Why are there so many flashlights in here?", said Mario. "There's only six of us."
"Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, Mario.", said Chris. "Most of them are extras in case some of yours breaks."
Soon, Team Blue are weighted down with a lot of flashlights. "Now, because the lawyers said I had to provide Team Red with something, here you go!", said Chris, throwing a lantern at the team, which Luigi catches. "A crummy gas lantern!"
Chris pulls out a bullhorn. "The trails are clearly marked around that a way, so go!", said Chris, sounding off the bullhorn. The campers race past him towards their goal.
Cut to Team Blue walking through their trail. They clearly have the advantage, as their flashlights light up the forest. Comically, Captain Falcon is still wearing nothing but his boxer shorts.
"So, do you guys think we'll win this week?", said Kirby, rubbing his growling stomach.
"Of course we will.", said Flacon, striking a pose. "We have me on the team."
Ness, who's in the lead, rolls his eyes, then stops to a halt. "Um, guys? We have a problem."
The camera zooms out to show a pit in the ground. Constructed in the pit is several wooden platforms held up by poles.
Mario gasps. "It's just like a Platformer."
"A what?", said Falcon, admiring himself in a mirror.
"You know, my genre of video games.", said Mario. "You just jump from one platform to the next, until you make it across."
Mario, followed by fellow platformer Kirby, jumps across the spaced out platforms with ease, eventually making it to the other end.
Kirby waves at the other team members. "Now it's your turn!"
Ness looks at Pikachu, who shrugs, then the duo begins jumping across the platforms. Falcon tries to jump onto the nearest platform, only to miss and almost fall into the pit.
(Captain Falcon): I'm more of a racer, than a platformer.
Soon, all the team are at the other end of the pit, except for DK.
"C'mon, Kong!", said Ness. "It's easy."
DK looks nervously at the nearest platform. He puts his toe on the wooden platform, only for it to creak ominously. DK scratches his chin, then a lightbulb appears over his head. He jumps up, and begins swinging on the tree branches over the pit. Eventually, he makes it to the other end, and the team continues on their way.
The camera cuts to the Red Team, trying to make their way through their path. Luigi is in front, holding the lantern and shivering in the autumn air.
(Luigi): I'm not so good in the dark. One time, I inherited this mansion from my relative, and it was chock-full of ghosts. I've been afraid of the dark ever since.
The lantern gave off very little light, so the team was on edge.
Fox slips and runs into Link from behind. "Careful!", said Link, irritably.
"Hey, it wasn't my fault.", said Fox.
"Shh!", said Yoshi, putting his finger up to his mouth, looking scared.
"Do you hear something, boy?", said Link, looking around.
A pause, then an owl hoots. Luigi yelps and drops the lantern, which promptly breaks.
"Oh, excellent work, Luigi.", said Fox. "Bravo."
"I guess we'll just have to wing it.", said Link, walking forward cautiously. The rest of the team follows suit, until...
Samus walks onto a pile of dead leaves and sticks, and falls into a tiger pit. The other team members looks down into the pit, where they can see the glow of Samus' visor.
"Well... now what?", said Fox.
The camera then cuts into a montage of both teams. The Blue Team constantly walks into traps and obstacles, including ducking to avoid a large tree log swinging over the trail by rope.
Meanwhile, the Red Team are shown to continually try and drag Samus out of the pit through various means, only to fail each time.
Eventually, the camera cuts to Chris and Sam waiting at the end of both trails. Chris is lounging in a lawn chair, while Sam, still looking exhausted, is holding a platter of iced tea.
As the sun comes up on the morning, the Blue Team runs out of their trail, looking dirty and exhausted.
"And the Blue Team wins again!", said Chris, as the Blue Team tiredly cheers.
Cut to Samus finally getting out of the pit, covered in mud, leaves, and sticks.
"It's daytime.", said Link, looking at the rising sun. "It's hopeless to try and win now."
"Right you are, Link!", said a voice, revealed to be Chris in a helicopter with Chef. "Team Blue escaped the woods hours ago. See you at the elimination ceremony tonight!"
"Wait!", said Fox, to the retreating copter. "Don't we get a ride out of these darn woods?!"
Cut back to the camp, where it is now nighttime. Zoom in to the campfire pit, where Team Red are once again on the green bleachers.
"The following campers are now safe.", said Chris, and began throwing marshmallows at the team. "Yoshi, Link, and Fox!"
Luigi looks nervous, and Samus... looks exactly the same as always.
"Samus, you fell into a pit at the beginning of the trail. Because it took all night to get you back up, you practically cost your team the win. Luigi, you were the one who dropped the lantern, causing Samus to fall into the pit in the first place.", continued Chris.
"The final marshmallow goes to..."
"... Samus!", said Chris, throwing the treat at the bounty hunter.
Luigi sighs.
Cut to the school bus, where Mario has come to see his brother off. "Win it for me, bro.", said Luigi, giving Mario a fist bump, before clambering aboard the crummy school bus.
