The camera opens up on the mess hall of the campgrounds. A quick zoom in shows that all the campers are seated inside, eating their breakfast. In contrast to canon, they seem to be remarkably well-rested, due to the fact that the Awake-a-thon didn't go as long as it could have.
The only team that looks moderately tired is the Killer Bass, as they are mildly yawning on occasion.
Chris soon walks in, and raises an eyebrow at the Bass. "Dudes, the Awake-a-thon ended a few days ago. Get over it."
"Harold kept us up all night with his snoring.", said Courtney.
As if on cue, Harold walked in, revealing that he had a mustache drawn with permanent ink on his face. As he strutted to his table, every other contestant snickered.
"What?", said Harold, as he sat down. Ezekiel slid him a spoon, which Harold used its reflection to showcase his 'sweet 'stache'.
Chris continued, "All right, campers. Your third challenge begins in fifteen minutes. Meet me at the beach in that amount of time."
"We might as well not show up.", said Courtney, haughtily. "We've already won two challenges."
The Bass all chuckle, as Leshawna glares at them. She picks up a wad of oatmeal, and lobs it at the A Type. Courtney dodges, causing Sadie to get a facefull of the slop.
"Thanks, Courtney.", she said, causing Courtney to look embarrassed.
Cut to all the campers leaving the mess hall. Heather, however, deliberately hangs back, then pulls Lindsay and Beth into the building.
"What gives, Heather?", said Beth.
"Girls, I have a once in a lifetime opportunity for you. I meant to tell you last challenge, but I'm forming an alliance, and I've chosen you two to be a part of it.", announced Heather.
Beth looks excited, as Lindsay looks confused. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means that I'm taking you to the final three with me.", said Heather.
Lindsay gasps. "I can't believe we're going to the final three!" She grabs Beth's hands, and begins hopping up and down. Heather, meanwhile, gives a darkly satisfied looks.
"Excuse me, Chris meant fifteen minutes!", said Chef, walking up. "Now, get to the beach, and more importantly, out of my kitchen!" The trio scurries off.
The camera cuts to a glass, sports court assembled on the beach. A shrill whistle breaks the silence, as the camera zooms in to the court. Chef, in a referee outfit, is the whistle blower, as he walks to his raised chair in the center of the court.
Meanwhile, Duncan walks over to his bleachers, and lays down, still tired from Harold's snoring. "Wake me up, and it'll be the last thing you do.", warns Duncan to his team.
"Campers, your challenge today will be the age old game of dodgeball.", said Chris, picking up one such ball from a nearby case. "The first rule of dodgeball is..."
"Do not talk about dodgeball.", deadpanned Noah, causing a nearby Owen to chuckle.
"No, Noah.", said Chris. "The first rule is to not be hit by a dodgeball. If you are hit, you are out of the game. Like so..." He throws the ball, hitting Lindsay in the face. Heather facepalms.
"If you catch a ball, the thrower is out, and you can bring any player back into the game. If you use a ball to block a ball, but it falls out of your hands, then you are out. Any questions?"
Lindsay raises her hand, which Chris promptly ignores. "The game will be best three out of five. Each team will have six players on the court each round. Teams, pick which players."
Cut to the Gophers in a huddle on their bleachers. "OK, we need three people to sit out.", said Heather, taking charge.
"All right, I guess I will take one for the team.", smiled Noah, walking over to the bleachers and pulling out a good book.
Heather's eyes pass over Justin admiring himself in a mirror, and Gwen sketching in her sketchbook.
"Justin and Gwen will stay out as well.", said Heather. "The rest of you, out on the court."
The camera passes over to the Bass' side, where Courtney has also taken charge. "OK, who should we send out?", she said. "Except for Duncan."
"I dominate at this game.", said Tyler. "Let me out there, and I'll throw down."
"Um, sure Tyler.", said Courtney, uncertainly. "Me and Eva will also 'throw down'; Bridgette, DJ, and Katie are also good choices."
"That is, if homeschool is OK with that.", said Eva, holding Zeke up by the scruff of his neck. "Or does he think four girls can't handle themselves on the court?"
(Ezekiel): No matter how many times I've apologized to Eva, nothing seems to be good enough. I just wish she doesn't do anymore pranks against me.
(Eva): Am I going to accept Zeke's apology to me? Heck, no.
The camera cuts to the players out on the court; Cody, Leshawna, Beth, Lindsay, Trent, and Heather for the Gophers, and Courtney, Eva, Tyler, Bridgette, DJ, and Katie for the Bass.
Chef soon blows his whistle, and the game is on! Immediately, Eva races towards the center of the court, grabs two dodgeballs, and flings them full force.
Trent and Beth are caught completely off guard, and are hit by the dodgeballs with such force that they are blown into the glass wall.
"And the Bass score two points in record time!", said Chris, as the Bass cheered.
Eva picks up another ball, and is about to throw it, when Tyler grabs it from her.
"Don't worry, Eva, I've got this!", yelled Tyler. He then swings his arm in a wide circle, then releases the ball. The ball ricochets off several points of the glass wall, before hitting Eva on the back of the head.
"Ow, what the heck?", yelled Eva, as Chef blew his whistle, signaling Eva out of the game.
"What the heck, ref? That was friendly fire!", yelled Courtney.
As Eva made her way off court, Bridgette sets her sights on Lindsay.
"I'm not sure what to do with this?", said Lindsay, holding up a ball. Seconds later, Bridgette had knocked Lindsay out of the game.
Courtney and Tyler are the next to go, while Leshawna and Heather are knocked out for the Gophers. This leaves only Cody, DJ, and Katie left on the court.
"Easy out, guys. Easy out.", said Courtney, from the sidelines. Cody, indignant, begins to aim his dodgeball in a strange way. He flings it, and, miraculously, the ball slings around in mid-air, hitting DJ on the butt.
The Gophers and Bass all gasp.
Cody then proceeds to rub his next dodgeball on his shirt, then throws it. The ball, charged with static electricity, follows Katie through the court, until it corners her onto the glass wall, knocking her out.
"That is one touch ball to dodge.", said Chris.
The Gophers all cheer, as Eva narrows her eyes at Cody from her place on the Bass stands.
"Where did you learn to do that?", said Heather, in shock.
"I guess I've got a lot of practice.", said Cody.
"OK, we've got to send a new team out into the court.", continued Heather. "Obviously, Cody will be on it. Justin and Noah, you're up."
Justin gives his dazzling smile, then stands up. Noah, however...
"You know, you guys did such an awesome job last time, that, I don't want to mess up your mojo.", said Noah, causing Heather to raise her eyebrow.
Meanwhile, on the Bass' side, Courtney is chewing Tyler out. "What was that?", said Courtney. "You knocked out our best player on your first try."
"C'mon, guys, if you just give me all the balls, I can dominate in this game. Just give me a chance.", said Tyler, causing his team to give each other looks.
Cut to the players on the court once again; Cody, Justin, Lindsay, Heather, Trent, and Beth for the Gophers, and Eva, Courtney, Tyler, Ezekiel, Harold, and Geoff for the Bass. Oddly enough, Tyler is holding all the balls for the Bass.
Chef blows his whistle, and Tyler begins to spin. He then releases his balls one by one. Almost none of them hit any of the players on the opposite side of the court. Two nearly hits Gwen and Chris ("Hey, watch the face, dude!"), and one hits Sadie on the Bass' bleachers.
Finally, Tyler releases his last ball, which hits Lindsay in the face.
"Finally!", said Courtney, at the same time Tyler said, "No!"
The sporto rushes to the Gophers side, and helps Lindsay to her feet.
"Tyler?", she says, drearily. "How's my face?"
"Um, it looks really good.", he lied, wincing at the multiple bruises on her face. Meanwhile, Heather narrows her eyes at the pair.
(Heather): I know we haven't gone over the alliance rules yet, but not having a relationship with someone on the other team is a no brainer.
Trent soon walks up, looks at Tyler, looks at his ball, then tosses it onto Tyler's chest.
Chef whistles, and Tyler walks to the Bass bleachers, as Sadie glares at him.
"Aw, stick it!", yells Eva, grabbing a ball from Geoff, and flinging it at the opposing side. The ball ends up hitting Heather and Beth, bouncing off the former. Eva the proceeds to knock out Trent and Justin with brutal attacks. Finally, only Cody remains for the Gophers.
Eva throws ball after ball, which Cody effortlessly dodges. Soon, though, Cody slips up, and gets beaned on the side of the head.
The Bass all cheer, as Cody gives a respectful glance to Eva, causing her to glare.
The episode then goes into a montage of Cody and Eva battling it out over the next two rounds. Cody dodges and uses his expert tricks, while Eva uses unrelenting force. Soon, the game is tied two for each, with the last round serving as a tiebreaker round.
The camera cuts to the end of the final round. Dodgeballs are strewn around the court, as Eva and Cody stand in a face-off. They glare at one another for a moment, before Cody rubs his chin in thought.
Eva breaks the standoff by rushing forward, grabbing a ball, and flinging it. Cody starts in surprise, then grabs a ball, and throws it as well.
The balls meet in mid-air, bouncing off each other, and hitting the two competitors out of the game.
Cut to all the campers on the bleachers, Cody with a bag of ice on his head, and Eva clutching her stomach.
"After careful consideration, I've decided to give the Gophers their first win for this challenge!", said Chris. "Mostly because it was super cool how Cody's tricks managed to knock Eva out of the game, at the expense of himself."
The Gophers begin to cheer, hoisting up Cody in celebration. Cody gives a nervous thumbs-up to Eva, who flips him the bird.
(Eva): That is the last time I get beaten by that nerd.
Noah drops his book, and begins cheering with the team... only for them to start glaring at him.
"What?", he deadpans, as the team carries Cody away. "What!? We won, didn't we?"
Meanwhile, the Bass are all looking in shock at the other team. A yawn breaks the silence, as Duncan sits up from his nap. "So, what'd I miss?"
The camera cuts to the ever-nail biting campfire ceremony. Duncan, Tyler, and Ezekiel are the last campers yet to receive a marshmallow.
"You three have big reasons for being in the bottom three.", said Chris. "Duncan, you slept through the entire game. Tyler, you were without a doubt the worst player imaginable. Ezekiel, you made some pretty hurtful comments about women in the last episode. The penultimate marshmallow goes to... Ezekiel!"
Ezekiel smiles in glee, and runs up to receive his marshmallow. He keeps a wide berth from a still glaring Eva.
"And the final marshmallow of the evening goes to..."
"... Duncan!"
Duncan trudges up to get his marshmallow, as Tyler droops down in despair. The jock proceeds to get up, and trudge towards the dock of shame.
