I am so, so very sorry for the long wait. School has been very stressful lately. I had a lot of assignments to finish and activities to be done. The story is kind of short, I hope you all don't mind.
Also, thank you Amber Night for the ideas and family of Iokua.

The Dragon Riders were having a blast at the welcome party for the people of Motunui. They enjoy the great food, the laughter, and the entertainment. They watched as beautiful women danced for them, a traditional welcoming dance to give good luck and happiness to them. Snotlout and Tuffnut flirted at the female dancers, finding them very attractive. Hiccup, Astrid, Heather, and Fishlegs were fascinated by how they were in perfect sync with the beat of the music. Heck, even their dragons enjoyed the show as well as the food, the fishes here are huge and delicious! All of them were having a grand time, except for Lani. The young man was deep in thoughts. He couldn't stop thinking about how Moana explained the legend of Te Fiti. It got him thinking of similar stories that his father told him about when he was young. About a powerful entity that created many islands, a man that was able to shapeshift into various forms of animals, and the people here. Lani then glanced over to Maui with Keoni and Nasir, talking about something. He can't get over the thoughts of his father's stories that were similar to Moana's. Lani has an itchy feeling that his father, Iokua, used to live in Motunui. But he wasn't sure if it's true or not, but he will eventually find out without getting suspicious. I mean, the people of Motunui are so generous, he couldn't snoop around here. That would be considered rude.
"Hey, Lani." Malie greeted him, coming over to his side.
Lani snaps out of his thoughts and looks over to Malie. "Oh, Malie, hi." He greeted the mermaid.
"What do you think of the welcome party?" Malie asked, sitting next to him.
Lani offers her a smile. "It's great." He said kindly before going into silence as he looked down. This caused Malie to be concerned about why he suddenly became silent. She worries that Lani might be sick.
"Are you okay, Lani?" Malie asked in concern. "You look unhappy."
Lani looked at her in surprise. "Wha-Oh! No, no, no! I-It's great! The party, I mean."
"Then what's wrong?" Malie asked him.
Lani sighs a bit and looks at her. "It's just...I couldn't get over the thought about what Moana said about the legend of Te Fiti." He said to Malie. "It's similar to one of his father's stories that was told to me when I was young. He told me a story about a man that can change forms into animals and how people sail across the ocean. I know it's weird, but I feel like my dad knows something about this place."
This surprised Malie, how can Lani's father know that? She always knows that Moana's people and her people were the only ones that knew about the legends. But Lani's dad knew about them too, all of them. Before she could ask another question, Yasmina came up to her calmly, ignoring Snotlout and Tuffnut flirting at her from the background.
"My apologies for interrupting your conversation, but I need Malie's assistant to gather up hatchlings for feeding time." Yasmina said to Malie.
Malie nodded. "Of course." She agreed before looking at Lani. "Talk to you later?"
Lani nodded with a smile. "Sure."
With that, Malie and Yasmina went off to feed the hatchlings their meals, since the adult dragons need extra help in keeping an eye on them. After they gotten them fed and stopping Galestorm and Bolt from fighting over a fish, they were soon greeted by the rest of the Freedom Bringers and their dragons. They greeted them kindly as they made their way to them.
"Hey, Mal, Yas, how's our guests? Are they enjoying themselves?" Moana asked them.
Malie nodded. "Yes, they are having a great time. Although..."
"What?" Tara asked, tilting her head a bit. "What were you guys talking about?"
"Well...Lani told me that he can't get over his thoughts about his father's stories." Malie explains to them. "He said they were similar to our legends and stories about Te Fiti and Maui."
This surprised the group, including their dragons. No one, besides them, knew about those legends. They didn't even know that Lani's father had this kind of knowledge. Moana questions Malie about it. "How did Lani's father know that?"
"That...I really don't know." Malie answered truthfully. "I didn't get all the answers from him."
Keoni looks at her and then over to Lani, who was talking with Hiccup and Astrid. He has suspicion towards this Lani person. "We should keep a close eye on him for any suspicions. Who knows what he is up to?"
"I agree with Keoni." Nasir said, backing up Keoni. "We don't know if he is hiding something from us."
However, Malie was against this, she feels uneasy about that, and she knows very well that Lani isn't really a suspicious person. "We can't do that to him. He is just as confused as we are."
"Mal, we know you like that guy, but seriously. Laurence could be hiding something that he can't tell." Tara interjected.
"You don't know that, and his name is Lani, Tara." Malie said to her Lycanwing friend seriously.
"Guys, come on, let's not get ahead of ourselves. For all we know, maybe his dad was one of the people of our region. Remember, there were some people that tried to escape the darkness." Moana reminded them.
"I am with Moana on this." Yasmina said to them. "Lani's father could be a human that used to live in this region. We should not judge him so easily."
"Both Moana and Yas are right, we can't just judge them, let's get to know them first before we can be suspicious!" Coral said cheerfully with a smile.
The others looked at each other, silently discussing it. They turned towards the riders and saw the children asking them questions about their region, wondering if it was really cold there and if they always wear funny clothing. Seeing that, their suspicion slowly subsided as they decided to let this slide and continued to party. Meanwhile, the children of Motunui were asking the riders about their dragons and their region, and how they survive such a cold climate.
"We're Vikings. It's an occupational hazard." Was Hiccup's answer to the children, which made them laugh.
Soon, after the female dancers finished their performance, two male fire dancers came on stage and performed amazing tricks by spinning fire around them. The dragon riders and their dragons were in awe at the sight before them. In all their adventures, they never saw people wield fire like that. Heck, even their dragons were amazed to see humans dancing with fire. The Monstrous Nightmares were more fascinated by them since they wonder how the humans here were able to dance with fire so easily. And for the grand finale, the two fire dancers tossed one of their flaming batons to the air, then changed sides by doing flips and catching the flaming batons before they hit the floor. And then, they did something amazing, they took a deep breath and blew at their flaming batons like they were breathing fire! The dragons riders and their dragons were shocked to see humans breathing fire! Ruff and Tuff wanted to know how they did that while the others cheered, mostly the dragons. The fire dancers bowed at everyone, thanking them for enjoying their performance.
"Amazing! How did they do that?" Fishlegs asked, clapping at the performance.
"Years of training, only those who have the skills can perform such a dance." Keoni answered Fishlegs's question.
"Do you think they can teach us that?!" Tuff asked excitingly.
"Hmmm...no." Keoni said to him firmly. "You might accidentally get yourself burned or set yourself on fire."
"Pfft! Please, we Thorston love the pain and getting burned!" Ruff said with a grin.
"Yeah! And the one that always gets himself on fire is Snotlout whenever he gets Hookfang angry." Tuff added.
"Hey!" Snotlout yelled at them in anger while everyone laughed in amusement.
They continued to enjoy the welcome party until they all tired themselves out. Soon, everyone went home to get some sleep. The riders were lucky to have a place to sleep, thanks to Chief Moana. Malie shows them their hut where they will be staying tonight. It was big and near the coconut trees. There were even stone slabs and hays outside the hut with a long fabric as a roof for the dragons to sleep.
"This is your place for the night. We added more warm blankets since it gets cold at night, we also put some water and fruits for you all to have some midnight snack. I hope it's all right for you." Malie said to them.
"It's fine, thank you, Malie." Hiccup said kindly.
Malie smiles. "You're welcome. I see you guys in the morning." She said before getting on Cayden's back. "Goodnight!"
"Goodnight, Malie." Lani said with a wave as Cayden took off to the sky.
The riders and their dragons find their own comfortable sleeping mat. The dragons too find their comfortable spot as Toothless, Hookfang, Barf, and Belch sleep on the stone slabs while Stormfly, Meatlug, Windshear, and Sandstorm sleep on the hay beds. As they all fall asleep from a night of partying, Lani still remains awake as he couldn't sleep yet. He was still bother about the thought of his father's stories and Moana's cultures. He started to believe his father used to live in the island of Motunui. Lani doesn't know if it is true or he's just overthinking it. Sighing, Lani decided to set that aside and went to sleep. He and the others have a big day tomorrow.
He just hopes he could find out more about this place before they leave.
On the next day, the riders and their dragons were still fast asleep, enjoying the comfortable sleeping position. Not bothering to wake up, even when the rooster start crowing or when the sun rises. However, they were not aware of a young girl, peeking behind a palm tree. Her hair was tied into two cute buns and wearing a seashell necklace. Accompanying her was a yellow female Terrible Terror. The little girl wanted to see the guests and their dragons, wanting to see them, especially the Sand Wraith. She was about to go near the dragons quietly until her Terrible Terror made small sounds, which the girl responded with a shush.
"Mango! Be quiet! I just need to see the new dragons and then we can go play." The girl said to her Terror quietly.
Mango agreed and stayed quiet, allowing the girl to get close to the sleeping dragons. Once she did, she hid behind a huge rock before taking out what appears to be papers and a charcoal. She started drawing the dragons that were sleeping soundly and made sure to get tehri details just right. Like all the children of Motunui, this little girl loves dragons. She wanted to get her own riding dragon one day and become a Freedom Bringer. As she continued drawing, she wasn't aware that one of the dragon riders was awake and was heading towards the dragon when he spotted the little girl. After a few minutes, the girl finished her work and admired it with a smile. She drew all the dragons in her tapa-like book. She picks it up and was about to leave with Mango, but she accidentally bumped into someone, causing her to fall on her bottom.
"Oupe!" She grunted as she rubs her behind before looking up to see that she accidentally bumped into Lani.
"Are you okay?" Lani asked in concern, helping the girl up.
She smiled at him innocently and nodded. "Yes, sorry I bumped into you." She apologizes to Lani.
Lani smiles at her. "No need, I should be the one apologizing for coming up to you." He assures her before asking. "What's your name, sweetie?"
The girl smiles brightly at him. "My name is Balaniki but my friends call me Niki. And this is my partner, Mango." Mango the Terrible Terror
Lani chuckles at her. "Nice to meet you, Niki. My name is Lani. Lani Flokidottir." Niki giggled at him which caused Lani to raise a brow at her. "What's so funny?"
"Your last name! It's funny!" Niki said to Lani, laughing with joy.
Lani chuckles. "True, it is funny." He then looks at Niki curiously. "So, why are you here, Niki? Is it the dragons?"
Niki nodded with a bright smile. "Yup! I heard about your dragons and wanted to see them up close! But I didn't get to do so since you were busy with other kids."
Lani smiles at her softly. "Do you want to see them?"
Niki gasps, eyes sparkling in delight when he mentions that. "Really?!" Lani nodded at her. "Okay!"
With that, Lani offers his hand to Niki, who eagerly holds, as he guides her to the dragons that were waking up. They headed towards Sandstorm, who was stretching like a cat while yawning, before she spotted her rider and Niki coming her way. Sandstorm croons at Niki curiously. Wondering why her rider brought her here.
"Hey, Sandy. I want you to meet Niki." Lani looks at Niki. "Niki, this is my dragon, Sandstorm. She's a Sand Wraith."
Niki tilts her head as Mango perches herself on Niki's shoulder. "Sand Wraith? What kind of dragon is that?" She asked Lani curiously.
"She's a Tidal Class dragon or better yet a water dragon in your case. She can adapt in both land and water, and she can hold her breath for long periods of time." Lani explains to Niki, patting Sandstorm's head gently. "Do you want to pet her?"
Niki nodded shyly before Lani guided her hand to Sandstorm's head. The young girl felt the rough yet smooth scales of the Sand Wraith. Niki couldn't help but awe at her as she guided her hand on Sandstorm's head, gently stroking her, which earned delightful purrs. Niki couldn't help but giggle at this.
"She's pretty." Niki commented with a smile.
Lani chuckles at this. "She is indeed."
"Why does she almost look like Aliikai?" Niki asked, referring to the female Night Fury of Motunui.
Lani looks at her curiously. "Do you know Aliikai?"
Niki nodded her head. "Uh-huh, everyone knows about Aliikai, she's the chief's sister." She informs Lani, surprising him in the process. "She helps Chief Moana with her chiefly duties."
"You know very much about them, do you?" Lani asked curiously.
Niki nodded her head. "Yup! And they lead the Freedom Bringers to victory when facing those mean dragon hunters." She said to Lani, surprising the Dragon Rider in the process.
Suddenly, Toothless came over to them, seemingly curious about Niki. The young girl was amazed to see Toothless coming over as smiles at him. "Woah! Another Night Fury! Like Aliikai and Blackwell!"
"Yes, this Toothless. Hiccup's dragon." Lani introduced Toothless to Niki.
Niki giggles again. "Hiccup? That's a silly name."
"Hey!" They heard Hiccup's voice from the background. They turned around to see Hiccup and the other dragon riders already awake, ready to get some breakfast with their dragons. "My name is not that silly." He said jokingly with a smile.
"Hey, guys. How was your sleep?" Lani asked them.
"It was great! I dreamt I was frolicking around a field of warm butter." Tuffnut said with a happy sigh, confusing both Niki and Mango.
"Anyways...guys, I would like you to meet Niki and her terror, Mango." Lani introduced the young girl and her dragon.
Niki waves at them with a smile. "Hi!" She greeted them while Mango chirped at them.
The Dragon Riders greeted her kindly, finding Niki adorable. Hiccup then spotted her drawing pad and became curious. "What do you get there, Niki?" Hiccup asked.
Niki brought up her tapa like a drawing book. "It's my own dragon journal, I like to draw new dragons that the Freedom Bringers would save. I didn't mean to draw your dragons without your permission." She apologizes to the Dragon Riders.
Hiccup smiles at her gently, "Hey, no worries, Niki. You can draw our dragons anytime you like." He assures her.
This brightens Niki up as she looks at the riders. "Really!?"
"Sure, you can, and if you want, we can let you ride them." Heather even offers it to the young girl.
"Oh, thank you! I would love to ride your dragons." Niki said happily, feeling like it was a great day.
"Niki!" They heard a woman's voice. Looking towards the direction, they saw a woman with a female Deadly Nadder following her from behind. "There you are! I've been looking everywhere for you."
Niki smiles at her sheepishly. "Sorry, mom. I just wanted to see the dragons." She apologizes to the woman, who happens to be her mother.
Niki's mother's sighs and shakes her head at her daughter. "Niki, if you want to see them, you have to tell me or your father before you run off with Mango." She told Niki.
"I know, I promise I won't sneak off again." Niki said to her mom.
Niki's mom shook her head and looked at the riders with an apologetic look. "I am so sorry if my daughter bothered you." She apologizes to the riders.
"Oh, no, ma'am. She wasn't bothering anyone." Astrid was the one who assures the mother.
Niki's mother made a small smile at them. "My name is Iokina. Thank you for keeping an eye on Niki, she gets into trouble from time to time." Iokina said with a smile as her daughter looked away and whistled innocently.
Everyone chuckles at this. "We know the feeling." Hiccup said. "By any chance can you take us somewhere to eat?"
Iokina smiles kindly. "Of course, we all prepared breakfast for you at the village eatery. I'll take you there if you wish?"
"Yeah, we appreciate it." Hiccup said gratefully.
Iokina smiles and then looks at Niki. "And as for you, young lady, you should get back before hula class starts."
Niki whines a bit. "But mom!"
"No buts, Niki. You have to get ready for hula class, you don't want to make a fool of yourself before the festival." Iokina reminded her daughter.
Niki sighs in disappointment. "Yes, mom."
"Sunwind, please accompany her, so she won't try and sneak off from her lessons again." Iokina ordered her Nadder, who obeyed, much to Niki's annoyance.
As Sunwind takes Niki and Mango to hula class, Iokina leads the Dragons Riders to the village eatery, where they see a hut, bigger than the rest. It has people gathered inside, enjoying a cooked meal. Dragons were at the feeding bowl, enjoying delicious fishes. The riders went into the hut while their dragons went to the food bowl. They were greeted by the locals as they offered them food, which they thanked them in return. They got to their spot and sat on the floor, enjoying their breakfast. Iokina gave them coconuts to drink, which they enjoyed.
"By the way, Iokina." Lani began, getting Iokina's attention. "Why is your daughter practicing this...hula? Is it some sort of dance?"
"It is. Hula is our traditional dance. And the reason why my daughter is taking classes is because in a few weeks it will be the nui nā kupuna." Iokina explains to Lani.
"I'm sorry...the what?" Lani asked in confusion, not familiar with the language.
"The nui nā kupuna, it means Great Ancestors." An old man said, walking over to them with an old woman.
Iokina smiles at them. "Good morning, Mama, Papa." She greeted her parents.
"Good morning, Iokina. I see our guests have finally awakened from their sleep." Iokina's mother said sweetly.
"Indeed." Iokina said before looking at the group. "Everyone, these are my parents, Haku and Dorisa."
The Dragon Riders greeted them kindly, while the old couple smiled at them fondly. "It's nice to meet you as well." Haku greeted them with a smile. "It's not everyday we meet nicer Vikings."
"What do you mean by that?" Heather asked in confusion.
"Well, when we were young, we heard stories of Vikings being ruthless killers that care nothing but gold, slaying dragons, and power. But then again, people tend to change for the best." Haku explains to them.
"Well, then, we can assure you. We are no longer the ruthless Vikings. Right guys?" Hiccup looked over to the riders, who agreed, although the twins and Snotlout had different ideas. Ruff and Tuff wanted to be ruthless while Snotlout wanted gold. "Can you tell us more about this celebration?"
"But of course." Dorisa said with a smile. "The nui nā kupuna is a festival about showing remembrance of our ancestors and loved ones that passed away. Showing our love and honor to them."
"Woah, that sounds beautiful." Heather said with a small smile. "Yet sad at the same time."
"It is indeed sad to lose someone you love, but we must always remember the good times we had with them, from the beginning and the end." Haku explains to them with a sad smile.
"Did you lose someone?" Lani asked quietly.
Dorisa nodded her head. "Yes, our eldest son. He was killed by a storm when he and his friend tried to sail beyond the reef. But we didn't know how to wayfinding and ended up in a storm. The Keahi's heir saved our son's friend, but our son was lost to sea, never to be seen again." She explains sadly. Haku holds his wife's hand gently, comforting her of the loss of their son. The dragon riders felt sorry for Haku and Dorisa, they lost their first-born child too soon.
"What age did he..." Hiccup trailed off when Lani gestured him to stop, not wanting to hurt them more.
"He died when was about your age." Iokina answered sadly, even though it was painful. "I was only thirteen when he died, no one saw it coming...may his soul be with the ancestors."
"...I am so sorry." Lani apologized. "It must've been so hard for you to lose someone."
Iokina nodded her head. "It was sad. I just wish that my brother would've been more careful. Then maybe...then maybe he could've lived long enough to see his niece." She said softly before forming a small smile. "Even though he is gone, his spirit will still live on."
"What do you mean?" Astrid asked Iokina.
Iokina made a small smile. "You see, in our culture, our loved one would visit in the form of an animal." She explains as she looks at her bowl of fruits with a sad smile. "My brother would visit us in the form of a hawk, watching over us."
"Woah...that's amazing." Hiccup said in awe. "Who would've thought that the fallen can still visit the living in the form of an animal."
"Yeah! It sounds awesome!" Tuffnut grins to this. "If I die, my form should be a wolf. No! A shark! No-no wait, wait...a wolf shark!"
Iokina and her parents stared at Tuffnut in confusion, unsure if his spirit animal should be...that. The rest of the Dragon Riders simply face palmed while her sister snickers at him. "Anyways...have you seen Moana and her team? We haven't seen them since yesterday." Hiccup asked Iokina.
"They're probably in the jungle, they're working on making a big storm shelter for us and the dragons, that way we are safe during a huge storm." Dorisa explains to them.
"Huh, that's smart." Fishlegs complimented.
"It is, we're worried a big storm might hit us one day, so Chief Moana is making sure that we have a safe haven till the storm passes." Iokina said to them.
"If it's all right, can we assist them in this project of theirs?" Hiccup asked.
"Of course! The more the merrier!" Haku said to them with a smile. "Iokina's husband is going there with some workers, they're bringing in the supplies, you can go with them to meet with Chief Moana."
"I will take you to him, if you like." Iokina suggested.
"That would be great, thank you." Hiccup said gratefully.
After eating, the riders and their dragons followed Iokina towards some people, loading up tools and supplies on a wagon, being pulled by Gronckles and Nadders. Instructing the people and dragons was a muscular man aka Iokina's husband named Kahua. He's a muscular male, with tattoos of a shark on his right arm. By his side was his dragon, an orange Monstrous Nightmare named Hurricanefire. Kahua was instructing everyone to take the safest route. Everyone listens and obeys Kahua's instructions. Once he finished, everyone was ready to depart, Kahua spotted his wife with the Dragon Riders and smiled at her warmly.
"Good morning, my dear. What brings you and our guests here?" Kahua asked.
"Hello, my love. They want to assist in making the storm shelter." Iokina replied sweetly.
"That's good, it would be nice to have extra hands on this project." Kahua said to them. "Chief Moana is already there with some crew. They brought the first equipment while we gathered the rest."
"Woah, smart plan." Astrid complimented.
"Indeed, it is, come. We are about to leave." Kahua said to them.
After Iokina left for the healer's hut, the dragon riders followed Kahua and the locals through the jungle. They made sure to stay in the path because the dragon riders barely knew what's on the island. About an hour, they reach their destination, a small clearing with undergrowth surrounding it. They saw Moana instructing her people on where to build. The dragons were doing the heavy lifting and helping their humans carrying the supplies inside a cave. It was a big cave and had rock stairs. It was like the Great Hall, but it was built on a waterfall. The riders were amazed by this, seeing how Moana was working hard to help her people.
"Ah, Kahua, I'm glad that you and the others made it here safely." Moana said with a smile, walking over to them with Aliikai by her side. "And I see you brought the Dragon Riders with you as well."
Kahua nodded his head, showing his great respect to Moana. "Yes, Chief Moana, they wish to assist us in building the shelter."
"That's good, I heard that you two are quite inventors." Moana said, referring to Hiccup and Lani.
Before the two doppelgangers could speak, Snotlout butted in with a smug look, thinking that the compliment was for him. "Why thank you, Chief Moana. I am known to be skilled." He bragged, wiggling his eyebrows at her, earning a disturbed look from Moana and a glare from Aliikai.
Then, from afar, Tara was walking by, carrying a huge long on her shoulder, glaring towards Snotlout after hearing what he said. "Yo, Snot-DORK! She was talking about Hicc and Lee, not you! And FYI, she's getting married!" She called out before entering the big cave.
Snotlout's eyes widened by this before looking at the casually smiling chieftess. "It's true, I am getting married." Moana answered while Aliikai silently snickers.
"Woah, I didn't know you were getting married." Hiccup said in surprise.
"Yeah, who's the lucky guy?" Fishlegs asked curiously.
"That would be me."
They turned around and saw Keoni standing behind them with his Tide Glider. He simply gave a simple smile while Snotlout had his mouth dropped in shock. Keoni made his way to Moana as the Chieftess wrapped her arms around Keoni's.
"Wait, you and Koeni are engaged?" Astrid asked in surprise.
"Yup, the two of us grew up together since we were kids." Moana answered with a smile. "And since that day, we have become inseparable." Aliikai snorted gently, making Moana giggle. "You two Ali."
Aliikai made a satisfied smile at her sister's words. Not noticing Toothless was looking at her dreamily. Fishlegs squealed a bit, finding it adorable to see them. "Ooohhh! This is so exciting!"
Both Moana and Keoni looked at each other with loving expressions. "True, we are excited for our wedding." Moana said before she and Keoni looked at the dragon riders. "What about you? How do Vikings plan their weddings?"
"Oh, we do, it's called Viking unions. It's when two proud houses unite and have to perform rituals." Hiccup explains to them. "They have to go to the secret matrimonial site, the Island of Friga, to chop down the ceremonial birch with the family ceremonial axe for the union to be official."
"Is that how you do Viking unions?" Came Coral's voice. She and Gil were coming over to them with their dragons.
"Aloha, Gil, Coral." Moana and Keoni greeted them.
"Hi~!" Coral sang happily. "Have you guys started the construction?"
Moana nodded her head. "Yup, the Whispering Deaths had just finished digging up the tunnels we need."
When she mentioned Whispering Deaths, the Dragon Riders and their dragons looked at Moana and her friends in disbelief and shock. They were able to tame the most aggressive Boulder Class dragons of the archipelago!?
"You tamed Whispering Deaths?!" Hiccup asked in shock.
Moana and her friends looked at him, mildly surprised by his question. Gil, being the dragon nerd he is, decided to explain to them the reason. "Yes, we did, even though they don't originally live here. In fact, they actually live in your region on their own island. Although there was one Whispering Death that was...unstable."
Hearing this, the dragon riders became well aware of what she meant. "This Whispering Death...was it white with red eyes?" Hiccup questions them.
"Yes." The Dragon Riders yelped in surprise and turned around to see Nasir and Yasmina from behind. "The dragon you are referring to is known as Jörmungandr's kin, but the Vikings called it the Screaming Death."
Fishlegs gasped in shock. "You guys faced the Screaming Death?" He asked, barely a whisper.
They nodded their heads as Tara came over to them, dusting her hands clean from dirt. She hears the conversation and joins in. "Yup, we faced that big guy. Even though Big Daddy's bigger than him. But...Eversor seems to be a formidable opponent." Tara explains to them.
Lani looks at her in confusion. "Eversor?"
"That's what we call him after Moana and Aliikai defeated him in battle two years ago." Tara answered casually.
The riders listened to them while they helped building the storm shelter. As it turns out, the Freedom Bringers rescued a female Whispering Death which Coral named Tallulah, from Dragon hunters that tried to cage her. They defeated them of course and helped Tallulah find her island. They were lucky to find the Whispering Death Island thanks to some dragons and brought Tallulah home. However, when they decided to explore the place, they were attack by the Screaming Death. The Alpha Class Dragon did not like humans, he didn't care if Moana or her friends are not Vikings, for he sees them as threats, like all humans are. They Freedom Bringers and their dragons evaded him, fighting back from time to time. Eventually, Moana and Aliikai were knocked out from the sky and crashed on the island. The Screaming Death would've finish Moana off, if it wasn't for Aliikai. The female Night Fury activated her Alpha mode and attacked the Screaming Death with great ferocity. Aliikai's alpha mode overpowered the Screaming Death, rendering him from falling out from the sky and crashed to the water. The Screaming Death was defeated, with a damage wing. The Freedom Bringers would've left him, but instead, they healed the Screaming Death. This surprised the Screaming Death, as he always recalls, humans were his enemies, but it appears that not all humans are bad...sometimes. Soon, they made an agreement, they won't cause any trouble on their island unless the Freedom Bringers are allowed to ask for assistance. At first, the Screaming Death refused, but knowing that they had just helped him, he agrees to allow them to ask for their assistance. But in return, they have given them food and brush their teeths. Turns out, Whispering Deaths plus the Screaming Death like it when their teeths are brushed, much to the riders' amazements.
"And that's how we befriended the Screaming Death." Moana finished the story before checking the walls of the cavern that the Whispering Deaths made. "This part of the cavern is where we shall store the supplies and equipment." She instructed the workers, who agreed and started preparing the room. Hiccup was impressed by Moana's chief skills. Even though he is a chief heir, Hiccup has yet to experience running a whole village by himself.
"Woah, you sure know how to run this village." Astrid complimented, setting down a basket filled with tools.
Moana smiles at her. "Well, dad did train me at a young age." She said before looking at the upper layer of the cavern. "We should make a stairway; it will take us to the top for higher grounds. Can Hiccup and Lani try to sketch the details for it?"
"Sure, they can." Astrid said in an assuring tone. "They'll make sure to design the stairway sturdy enough for your people and dragons."
"You sure know how to care for your people." Heather complimented as the group were setting up torches for them to see through the cavern.
"Yeah, she does." Tara grins as she and Moana share a high-five. "Talk about girl power."
Astrid and Heather laughed at this. "True." They said unison.
Soon, Malie came in with Cayden. "Hey, guys." She greeted them kindly.
Seeing Malie, Lani couldn't help but smile at her happily. Sandstorm suddenly sprinted over to Malie, roaring in delight to see the mermaid that will one day be her rider's mate. Malie smiles at Sandstorm and gently pats her head. "Hello, Sandy, how are you today?"
"Doing great! Where have you've been?" Sandstorm asked.
"I was out helping the healers with some sick dragons." Malie answered with a smile. "Are you all finishing up with storm shelter?"
"Yup, we just need to check the upper part of the cavern to see if it's stable." Moana said to Malie. "We were about to check it out.
Coral suddenly claps happily. "Oooh! Let us girls check it out while the boys figure out how to make the stairway!"
"Yeah! Girl time!" Tara agreed with a cheer. "Yo, Sandy! Join us with Stormy, Windy, and Luggy! Leave the boys here!"
"Wait, what?" Nasir, Maui, and Gil asked in unison. Gil was shocked and confused by this while Nasir was annoyed by the fact that he and the other males have to be with the riders while Maui wasn't sure if it was a good idea. Before they could even protest, the found female dragons went over to the female Freedom Bringers while Tsunami and Cayden stayed behind.
"I did not sign up for this." Nasir said with a glare while Tara grins at him.
"Don't worry so much, Nas. You'll get along with them...if you don't try to kill them." Tara added cheekily before patting his shoulder. "Welp! Have fun! Let's go girls!"
"Later, Tsunami! Be good!" Coral said happily before she and the other females went up, leaving the males behind.
There was an awkward silence within the male group. They looked at each other with wariness, confusion, and annoyance (mostly Nasir), unsure what to do or say. I mean, they got along when they were with the girls, but when they're alone in the same room...yeah, the awkwardness sets in no time.
"So..." Snotlout began, looking over to Nasir.
Nasir made an annoyed look, aware what question Snotlout was going to ask. "If you ask about my sister, I will end you right here in this very spot." He threatened the Jorgenson boy with a deadly glare. Cayden glares at the Viking boy too as the Vahlok is well aware that he wanted to flirt with his rider. And he will not allow that to happen.
Snotlout flinched and hid behind Lani, who looked at Nasir with wide eyes, as the Jorgenson boy peeked behind the blonde male. "N-Noted." He stutters in fear.
Yup, this is gonna be very awkward.
