To all my readers-Hope that everyone liked the last chapter. Now as I was writing last chapter, I was trying to decide if I wanted Felicity in this chapter or not. I originally wrote it with her in it, but then decided that it wasnt good the way I imagined it so Felicity wont be appearing in this chapter. Her name will be mentioned, she just wont be appearing in it is all.
To all the haters out there: You are not going to put me down! I put in the time, effort and love into writing these fanfics! This is the kind of thanks you want to give me?! The next time you want to say something cruel or cuss me out, create an account and send a PM. Otherwise, keep your negative comments to yourself because I will keep writing no matter what you or other negative people say.
I DO NOT OWN ANY DIGIMON CHARACTERS! I ONLY OWN THE OC FOR SEASON 1!
"No way." said Tai, not believing what he was seeing.
"What happened?" asked Koromon, sitting at Tai's feet.
"We must have been pulled through some sort of dimensional opening between the Digi-world and this one, whatever this one is." Tai explained. "I bet that opening is the same way I got to Digi-world but where am I now? They look like human beings and this looks like earth, but is it really?"
"I don't know, I've never been here before." said Koromon.
"It can't be. This looks like the park I played in when I was a kid. I think we're in my hometown." said Tai.
"No way." said Koromon.
"True, but that's the toy factory and that's city hall over there." said Tai, recognizing the landmarks around them.
"Tai, I don't mean to cut the sightseeing short but have you noticed I'm not MetalGreymon anymore? I'm back to Koromon." Koromon tells him.
"Unbelievable. This can't be real." said Tai.
"It feels real to…" said Koromon, but then Koromon gets hit in the head with a ball that gets rolled back to a little girl in a blue dress.
"Hey!" shouted Tai, gaining the little girl's attention.
"Huh?" the girl replies.
"Tell us something." said Tai. "Where are we? Is this world for real or am I imagining it?"
"What?" the girl asked, confused by his question.
"We just want to know if you're a real human being." said Koromon, in between Tai's feet.
"Please tell us if you are a real girl or a digital girl?" Tai asked, but instead of giving him an answer, the girl cries and runs off.
"What did I do? Did I say something wrong to her?" asked Koromon.
"You scared her, Koromon." said Tai. "Now she's going to tell the park police."
"Ah the police! Will they arrest me for making her cry? Save me, Tai! They're gonna get me." begged Koromon.
"Quiet. Listen up, just pretend you're a soccer ball." Tai said to him, as he picks up Koromon. "Now let's get out of here so I can figure out what's going on."
Once they had left the park, Tai begins to look around the city. "This all looks so familiar, Koromon, this has to be my home." said Tai.
"Well, for your sake I hope so." said Koromon. "But how can you be certain you're not imagining it in the Digi-world, Tai?"
"Well, I guess we'll find out when we get to my house and see." said Tai. "Hey, did you hear what I just said? Until we go to my house. Wow, Koromon, this is got to be the happiest day in the world. I'm home, I'm home, I'm home."
Koromon giggles after being thrown into the air and spun around by Tai. "It's true, I'm home. I'm finally home." said Tai, bringing Koromon close to him. "I get to see my family and when they get one look at you, they'll know I'm telling the truth about Digi-world. I hope that Felicity's there with Wanyamon. We'll see if the others got home and hook up."
"Hm, I hope you're right. Let's go." said Koromon, smiling at his partner.
"It's a good thing I still have some of the camp money left. The subway's a lot nicer than walking home." said Tai as they entered the train station, taking them to another station that is right across of some apartment buildings. "Wow! Everything looks exactly the way it did on the day I left for camp. That's where I live, Koromon. Pretty neat, don't you think?"
"All those room? Your family's big." said Koromon, looking up at the building with wide eyes, misunderstanding what Tai was telling him.
"It's an apartment building, lots of families live there." said Tai and a moment later, they are standing in front of an apartment building door. Tai holds Koromon under his arms, hesitating to open the door. "I don't know what to expect. Everything's been so weird. Being in Digi-world, we've lost track of time. I wonder if they're going to recognize me." wondered Tai.
"We won't know unless we go in." said Koromon.
"Right, well here it goes." said Tai, grabbing the handle on the door and pulls it open a little. "It's unlocked, they must be home. I remember when my mom planting those flowers. I remember buzzing my friends up on that intercom to come over and play video games and watch TV. Oh and the time when my dad put our family name plate on this door, but those memories won't mean a thing Koromon. If we came out of that dimension rift at the wrong time, what if I no longer exist?"
"Tai, can I make a little suggestion?" asked Koromon.
"Huh?" asked Tai, snapping out of his thoughts.
"Open the door." Koromon tells him.
"Here goes." said Tai, opening the door enough for him to walk in. "Hello. Look, their shoes are here. Mom, Dad?"
"No one's answering. Maybe they're out." said Koromon, as Tai closes the door.
"I wonder where they're gone." said Tai. "Probably they heard about camp and went to pick up Felicity."
"Maybe they went to Digi-World." suggested Koromon.
"That's not funny!" yelled Tai. A minute later, Tai grabs a soda from the fridge, and starts drinking it with Koromon on the counter. "Hey, Tai, over here. I'm thirsty." said Koromon.
"Sorry, it's the last one." Tai tells his digimon.
"What?!" Koromon screamed in shock.
"You should have asked for some before I finished drinking." said Tai.
"I can't believe you could be so stingy." said Koromon.
"I was just joking, you crybaby." said Tai.
"Really?" asked Koromon.
"I left you half of it." Tai tells him. A second later, Koromon is chugging down the rest of the soda. "I sure wish I knew where my family was and how long we've been gone." said Tai, before spotting a calendar on the fridge with the date. "Ah ha!" Hearing him, Koromon nearly chokes on the soda.
"Don't scare me like that!" yelled Koromon.
"It's been right in front of me. Today's August 1st, the same day we landed in Digi-world!" exclaimed Tai.
"We've gone back in time?" asked Koromon.
[Flashback]
At camp, Tai and the others each grabbed the digivices that were floating in mid-air.
"Yeah, this is the day the digivices dropped into our hands and this whole crazy adventure began." said Tai, remembering the day clearly.
[Flashback ends]
"Which reminds me that this day is the day my parents were planning to visit my grandmother who lives just outside of the city. See? My mom marked the date on this calendar so she wouldn't forget." said Tai. "They must have taken my other little sister, Kari with them. That's why no body's home now! Cool, then lets kick back and wait for them to get home."
"Speaking of time, it's time to eat." said Koromon.
"Hold your Digi-horses." said Tai. "I just realized that I'm reliving the day we already lived. "
"Sorry Tai." said Koromon.
"No, Koromon, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell but this same hour, minute and second have already occurred except I'm home this time. Does that mean I have a twin living in some parallel world?" wondered Tai. A second later, a yawn was head by Koromon.
"What was that?" He asked, snapping Tai out of his thoughts.
"Huh?" asked Tai, then hears the yawn again.
"Hear that?" asked Koromon, looking to his left, hearing a door open.
"Hi Tai." said a voice behind them. Tai turned around to see his other sister.
"Kari? You're here?" asked Tai. "Mom and Dad left you at home all alone?"
"I'm a big girl. Hi Koromon." said Kari, standing in the doorway of her and her siblings room, wearing pink pajamas.
"Kari, how did you know his name?" asked Tai, shocked at her.
"Maybe she knows my name because she's a lot smarter than you." joked Koromon.
"Cut it out, Koromon, I'm serious. Now how did you know his name was Koromon?" asked Tai.
"I don't know. I just knew it." Kari tells him.
"I don't get it." said Tai.
"It's like I've met him before with you and Felicity, that's why I'm not afraid." Kari explains.
"But that's impossible." said Tai. "This is the first time he's ever been out of Digi-world."
"Well, maybe that's where I met Koromon." said Kari.
"But you've never been to Digi-world, have you?" asked Tai.
"I don't know. I think so, its near your camp." said Kari, as her whistle blows a little in the wind.
"Maybe Kari has been to the Digi-world. She did have on that camp whistle, maybe she goes to our camp in the future and was sucked into the Digi-world like Felicity and I were, and comes back before us. Oh, I don't know. This moving back and forth from a time dimension to another is mega whack. No one's ever sure if they're here or now or there and then. Sometimes I feel like I'm more where and when rather than here or there." thought Tai as Kari sits on the couch with Koromon, playing a game. "What did I just say? I'm confusing myself. I know maybe Kari and I have a fever and we're both delirious."
A few seconds later, Tai places a hand on each of their foreheads. "What's wrong, Tai?" asked Kari.
"Nothing." said Tai.
"Then why do you think I have a fever?" She asked.
"Huh?" he asked, shocked.
"I'm not sick and I've been to Digi-world." said Kari. "Well, I think you and Felicity have. Where else can you find a Koromon."
"A toy store."
"Oh please." said Kari, not believing him.
"You do know." he said. "I better call everyone else to see if they all got home too." Tai goes over to the phone and call Izzy's house first. "Hello?" asked the man.
"Hi, is Izzy there please?" Tai asked, then gets a response. "Summer Camp? Oh, this is Tai. I came home from camp early and I just wanted to see if Izzy did too." Izzy's dad then asked him a question. "No, everything's just fine, thanks." Tai then tries to call the others.
"So, you haven't heard from Sora since she left for summer camp? Thank you. Matt hasn't called home or anything? Okay, thank you." said Tai, hanging up the phone. "It looks like I'm the only one who got pulled through that rift. Everyone else is still stuck in the DigiWorld and Felicity is probably scared out of her mind. I wish Izzy were here, he could get this digivice to work, and then we could get back to the DigiWorld and rescue the others. There's just got to be a way to fix this time dimension thing."
"Tai." said Kari, calling his name.
"Huh?" said Tai, snapping out of his thoughts.
"I know you're hungry. There's food in the fridge or you can share my left-over piece of pie." said Kari, removing the napkin on the table.
"I get first dibs this time!" yelled Koromon.
"I got a better idea, I'll make us a healthy breakfast." suggested Tai, walking into the kitchen and pulls out a mixing bowl. Tai then cracks about five to six eggs, scrambles them and makes three omelets.
"Come and get it!" Tai calls out to the others.
"It's good to be home." said Tai and Koromon before they devoured their omelets in a hurry while Kari takes a forkful of her omelet, tasting Tai's cooking for the first time.
"Delish." said Kari, smiling at her brother.
"You said it." said Tai, before going back to his food.
"Tai, you never cooked. Did you learn at camp?" asked Kari.
"Yeah, my new friend Matt taught me when our summer camp switched to Digi-world." said Tai, before he takes another bite. "He even let Felicity help too."
"You're good. I'm stuffed, you guys can eat the rest." said Kari, pushing her plate across the table.
"Glad too." said Koromon, taking the plate and scarfing down. A while later, Tai and Koromon finally finished their food.
"Man, I'm so full I won't eat for at least a year." said Tai but suddenly, Koromon's face turns pale.
"Oh boy!" said Koromon.
"Hey, what's wrong?" asked Tai.
"So full! Ah! I better go rest." said Koromon, heading towards the bathroom.
"Don't hide in the bathroom." said Kari.
"How embarrassing." said Koromon, who was now on the toilet. "Why do you want to hang out with someone who's such a pig?"
"Cause you're cute." said Kari, shyly.
"Really?" Koromon asked.
"Yeah. You wanna hear what happened to me at school?" she asked Koromon. "We took a farm field trip and I slipped and fell in a pig pen. "The kids were laughing at me till Tai and Felicity jumped in. Know what they did? Both of them played in the mud with me like I really done it on purpose."
"Wow." said Koromon in amazement.
"Tai does bug the both of us sometimes but he's the coolest big brother in the world." said Kari.
"Yeah." said Koromon. Meanwhile in the living room, Tai plops on the couch, turning on the tv and air conditioner. "Am really back. (Sighs) I use to hate that wind chime, now I love it." said Tai, happily. "And I really miss sitting around watching TV with my friends. I miss mom scolding dad for not hanging up his shirts and the twins playing one of the board games. Boy, it's good to be home."
As Tai drifts off for a nap, a news segment was on. "Unbelievable weather conditions around the world have weather experts puzzled. There is still no rainfall in southwest Asia as all the rice patties are drying up. As…" The news reporter said, but doesn't see Meramon on the screen like Tai did.
"Meramon." said Tai.
"…..In the middle east…" the reporter continued.
"And there's Seadramon." said Tai as Seadramon disappears like Meramon did in the last segment.
"Meanwhile in America, snow falls in a freak mid-summer cold spell." said the reporter.
"What? What is Frigimon doing here?" asked Tai, wondering what was going on. "Could someone please tell me what's going on here? The digimon are clearly on TV screen, but the reporter hasn't mentioned them."
"Finally, someone else can see them." said Kari as she walked into the living room, holding Koromon in her hands.
"Huh? Are you saying you can see the monsters too?" asked Tai.
"For a long time now. Both Felicity and me." Kari tells him. "Mom and dad didn't believe us, they just thought that Felicity and I watched too many scary movies."
"Kari…" said Tai, his expression softened, but then the TV shuts off and his Digivice starts going off.
"Uh-oh." said Kari.
"Hey, what's going on? My Digivice has activated itself." said Tai, as Kari sees the computer acting weird.
"Huh? What's wrong with the computer, Tai?" she asked, when suddenly a face appears on the screen. "There's a face!"
"Can you hear me? We…..danger!" said Izzy, gaining Tai's attention.
"Izzy?" asked Tai, confused as he runs to the computer.
"Safe….it….isn't…Tai, wherever you maybe don't come back here!" yelled Izzy.
"We can't just leave you guys there, Izzy!" Tai shouted at the computer. "I have to come back, I could be your only chance!"
"Digimon….total chaos." said Izzy.
"Wait Izzy! I need help with the digivice." begged Tai.
"You're better off where you are! Don't come back!" said Izzy.
"Izzy! Izzy!" shouted Tai but loses the signal. "While we're here safe at home, my friends and sister are in trouble."
"Oh no." said Kari.
"What now, Tai?" asked Koromon.
"I don't know, Koromon, I just don't know. Two worlds are in danger and I can't do anything about it. I feel total useless." said Tai. "I know this digivice is powerful enough to do something but I don't have a clue on how to make it work. Aw man, I guess I should just quit while I'm ahead."
"But Tai, you can't." said Koromon.
"Why can't I?" he asked his digimon, feeling upset. "What am I going to do? Throw the digivice at the monsters and hope they get scared and run away?"
"Come on, Tai, just relax. Eat some watermelon." suggested Kari. Some time passed as Tai goes into their room and lays down on the bottom bunk. "Kari's right. I do need to relax and chill out. Maybe an idea on what to do will come to me. I hope." thought Tai, looking at the watermelon slices on the desk. Meanwhile Kari and Koromon are at the kitchen table with their slices of watermelon.
"Boy oh boy, if there's one that I truly love, I truly love this watermelon." said Koromon.
"It's sweet, huh?" asked Kari. "You can eat all you want, Koromon."
"Oh, boy! I'm gonna have another slice. This world is great." said Koromon.
"I'm glad you like it here on earth because you may be staying here for a while." Kari tells him.
"Huh?"
"You may not be returning to Digi-world anytime soon, if at all. But you're more than welcome to live with us forever."
"It didn't just hit me until just now." thought Koromon. "I may never get back to home."
Just then, the phone rings and wakes Tai up. "Telephone! Who is it?" asked Tai, running out of the bedroom and towards the door to see that Kari answered it.
"I'll see you, mom." said Kari.
"Let me hear." said Tai, taking the phone from her and listens.
"We might be a little late than planned. There's supposed to be a storm coming in and there might be some heavy traffic coming back into town." said Mrs. Kamiya on the other line. "Oh and your grandparents want you, Felicity and Tai to come and visit when you get well. Kari, are you listening? Kari, are you still there honey?"
"Mom?" asked Tai.
"What? Tai?" asked Mrs. Kamiya, confused at hearing her son's voice when suddenly Tai hangs up.
"What's happening, Tai?" asked Kari, looking worried.
"Now I understand, earth's in just as much danger as the Digi-world." said Tai.
"How?" asked Koromon.
"Digi-world's troubles are slipping through the dimension." he tells them.
"What can we do?" asked Koromon.
"There's nothing we can do. Until I can figure how to use the digivice so we can return to Digi-world and fight the bad digimon, but we'll be okay for now." said Tai. "This will be a nice break. Here we have all kinds of food and candy and stuff and we get to sleep in a soft bed. We'll be living large."
"Right." Koromon said sadly.
"Sorry Digi-bud. Look, there's lots of things we could do out there." said Tai, looking down at the phone. "That satellite dish is more in touch with the world than we are. We could go to the beach, the movies. We could even take Kari shopping."
"Yeah." said a tearful Koromon.
"What am I talking about? My friends and sister are in danger because I can't make this piece of techno-junk work and I can't do anything about it." said Tai, about to lose his temper when suddenly the ground starts shaking.
"What's that?" asked Koromon.
"Earthquake!" shouted Tai and runs over to the balcony to look outside. "What? Is it Seadramon again?!" Just then, Tyrannomon appears out of the water.
"Oh no, Tyrannomon! What's he gonna do?" asked Tai as he sees Tyrannomon firing at a nearby building. "No!" Tai ran back inside and towards the door.
"Tai!" Kari called out.
"What are you doing? What about me and Kari?" asked Koromon.
"Kari stays here!" said Tai. "Kari, don't leave for any reason. Koromon and I have to find that dimensional rift! We gotta find a way back to Digi-world!"
As he said that, Tai picks up Koromon and runs out the door. "No!" shouted Kari but it was too late. Tai and Koromon rush towards Tyrannomon by soon as they get close to him, he fades away.
"What happened? He's gone!" said Tai but then an explosion occurs to his right and sees Drimogemon appear. "It's Drimogemon."
"Apparently, some of our viewers have called into our station, claiming to have seen monsters on our newscast screen." said a reporter.
"There he is!" shouted Tai but then Drimogemon fades away as well. "No way! Maybe this is a dream!"
"Authorities believe this is merely a bit of hysteria among the few individuals. If you have seen these monsters, you should seek medical attention immediately." said the reporter.
"The digimon are drifting back and forth through both worlds between that dimensional rift! We have to find it and get through it before those monsters destroy both earth and Digi-world!" said Tai. "It'll take all of us working together to stop them! We've got to get back!"
"Even if I did, I can't help you." said Koromon, hopping out of Tai's arms and onto the ground. "In spite of all I've eaten, I can't seem to digivolve so I can't fight. I'd just get in the way."
"I need you, Koromon. We can't win unless we fight as a team. Don't you give up now." said Tai.
"Tai! Koromon!" shouted Kari, wearing a jacket as she ran across the street. "Wait for me, I wanna go with you."
"Kari, I told you not to leave home." said Tai as she reaches them. "You can't go with us, it's too dangerous."
"Please, Tai, oh please, please." begged Kari. Koromon turned around to see a familiar face standing in the crowd.
"Ogremon." said Koromon. "Tai, Kari! Its Ogremon but the people don't seem to notice him."
The siblings turned around to see Ogremon staring them down. "What's he doing? He's just standing there, waiting for the light to change. Maybe if we wait, he'll disappear like the others." said Tai, watching to see if Ogremon would disappear.
Soon as the light at the crosswalk turned green, Ogremon moved towards Koromon and attacked, causing Koromon to jump out of the way. "Are you okay?" Tai asked Kari, seeing if she was alright.
"Koromon?" asked Kari and sees that Koromon wasn't there.
"Huh? Koromon, where are you?" asked Tai, looking for his digimon.
"He's up there!" shouted Kari, pointing to Koromon, who was jumping on building while fighting with Ogremon.
"What?" asked Tai, looking up.
"He's trying to fight that monster single handed." said Kari.
"Bubble blow!" shouted Koromon, blowing pink bubbles from his mouth at Ogremon but had no effect. Koromon manages to jump onto another building before Ogremon hits him with his club. "Koromon, digivolve." said Tai, holding his digivice once again in his hand.
"I can't do it unless you use the digivice." said Koromon, jumping in mid-air.
"I don't know what's wrong. The digivice isn't working." he tells Koromon. "You have to digivolve without it."
"I just can't." said Koromon.
"You can do it, Koromon." said Kari, having confidence in him. Just then, Koromon gasped as Ogremon got closer to him and hits him with his club, causing Koromon to scream and fall. "Koromon! Digivolve!" shouted Tai when finally his digivice glowed, causing a hole to open in the sky. "Look, a dimensional rift is like a mega vacuum cleaner! Koromon! Help!"
"Koromon digivolve to….Agumon!" shouted Agumon, transforming back into his rookie level self and steps on a street light.
"Hurry, Agumon!" yelled Tai.
"Pepper Breath!" shouted Agumon, firing a fireball at Ogremon, causing him to get blown into the rift and disappears.
"Take a hike." said Tai then Agumon starts floating away, getting sucked into the dimensional rift. "Agumon, come back!"
"I'm needed in Digi-world, I'll never forget you my friends. Thanks for your help." said Agumon as he floated away.
"Wait, take me with you. You still need my help." said Tai. Kari then grabs ahold of their brother. "Tai, stay with me." begged Kari.
"No, go wait for mom and dad." said Tai.
"I'm so sorry." she tells him.
"Why?" he asked.
"You're right. I know you have to leave." said Kari. "I know that you have to go protect Felicity."
"I really do, okay?" he tells her.
"Ok." Kari replied.
"Agumon can't digivolve without me. This is my fight too." said Tai as looked down at his glowing digivice and clutches it in his hand. He then raises it into the sky air. Tai starts to float into the rift like his digimon and starts to disappear while holding Kari's hands.
"Please be careful." said Kari, letting go of her brother's hand. "Hug Felicity for me."
"I promise. Goodbye Kari." he said.
"Bye bye, Tai. Don't forget about me." she tells them as the rift closes as they went through.
"It was really hard to watch Kari as I floated away, but there was no way I could've taken her with me. I knew it was way too risky besides, mom would've been really mad at me if I did, but what I didn't know was that Kari would find her own way to Digi-world." said Tai as a 9th digivice was sitting on the table in the living room, waiting for Kari.
Meanwhile back in the digital world, Tai and Agumon have finally arrived back to where they had left. "Agumon, we're back in business." said Tai. "Now we've got to decide what our first move is."
"Well, we have to find our friends and your sister, then we have to make sure that you and the others get home safely." said Agumon.
"Not until we conquer all the evil digimon, otherwise neither one of our worlds will be safe." said Tai.
