Hey everyone. ZepphireOS here. I know it's been a while since I've uploaded a new chapter for this story, but that's mainly because life got in my way. I had my university classes to worry about, and although I had a break during my hiatus period, I used that to finish off another story I was writing: MC's Bizarre Adventure. I'm pretty proud of how that turned out, so you can read that if you like.
There's something that I realized while writing MCBA. I'm not a fan of writing classic shonen stories. And since Ascension is predominantly shonen, this means that I don't really have the inspiration to continue this anymore.
Aside from that, I've also been letting this story stay idle for way too long. I've forgotten the passion that I once had for it as well, so I'm really not interested in writing another chapter for this. I'm truly sorry to everyone who was waiting for another chapter for this.
However, all is not lost. As of now I have two potential stories lined up, both for MHA. I will be detailing both stories below, and I want you to decide which one I should go for. I've never put up a poll before, but I'll look into adding a poll into my profile for this as well. If you don't want to poll, you can just leave a review to this instead.
The first story I have lined up is "Against the Great Collector (Working Title)". Here's a summary for this story.
"Izuku Midoriya, before joining UA, was accused for the murder of All Might. The true killer was an extraterrestrial being that Izuku accidentally stole something from, something that gave him so much more power than he would imagine. Wielding this strange power, Izuku sets off to defeat the Great Collector, the one who killed his mentor."
This is a story based on an idea that I dreamed up when I was less than 10 years old. I'm currently 20, so that should put into perspective how long it's been for me. This story, although it has nostalgic value to me, is not really my top pick among these two. The start of the story is planned out, but I still have a lot that I need to conceptualize for this. Because this story is incomplete, even in my head, there's a good chance that I would rewrite this or even stop it in between.
My second option is "Lessons from the Whirlwind". This is an OC story. Here's the summary.
"The Quirkless Dojo. The strongest dojo in the world, albeit the most infamous for its Reverse-Quirkism. How would Hayato Reki, one of the most passionate students of the Dojo, fare when he discovers his quirk incredibly late and gets exiled from his family?"
Out of the two, this one is my preference. It is the first ever idea I had when I first wanted to write fanfiction. All the roads I've paved till now was with the goal of this story in mind. I want this story to be the culmination of all of my efforts, and that's why I'm hesitant to write this just yet. I don't think I'm experienced enough for this. I have planned out most of this story already, and the ending is, quite honestly, the best piece of work that I have ever come up with in my life. Even then, I want to dedicate my all to this story, so I'm afraid that I won't do it justice as I am at the moment.
So the choice is yours. Do you want the placeholder story with aliens a different wacky powers, while seeing how Izuku Midoriya suffers from having to live accused for a crime he didn't commit? Or do you want to see the incredible journey of Hayato Reki, as he slowly comes to realize what it means to be a member of the Quirked World?
As for Ascension, I'll say that the story is on indefinite hiatus at the moment. I don't know if I'll pick the story back up in the future. However, if you want to know what happens in the story, just send me a PM with whatever you want to know.
Anyway, that's all I have to say. Once again, I'm really sorry about having to stop uploading this story. I'll see what I can do about the poll.
