Chapter 10

Really sorry for the time it took, I still hope you'll enjoy this, though! One or two chapter more and the story will over.

I'd advise you to take a quick look at chapter 9, if you really don't want, here's a quick summary: the team found Reid again, but the demon possessed Hotch instead of Hankle and disappeared. Reid explained his past and while he, Sam, Gideon and JJ went to the police station to cover up what really happened in the shack, Dean, John, Prentiss and Morgan went back to the farm to get Garcia back. As they searched for Hotch in there, John got locked in the basement and they understood Garcia was the one possessed. She attacks Dean and Derek.

It was incredibly frustrating to wait for their medical examination. They could avoid going to hospital but they wouldn't avoid an examination and photos of their wounds would be taken. They were waiting for the doctor for now.

"We'll join the others as soon as it is done, don't worry. Maybe they already found Hotch and they are already done with it," Reid whispered to Sam.

"Let's hope you're right...You know," Sam began, "I was thinking about what you told me, about your dream with your father who was leaving the house. I know you don't think so but I want to repeat it: you're strong…"

"Thanks to you."

"No, even before. You didn't have an easy life but you could handle it, that's why you could stay with us. So, sorry to tell you that, genius, but you're wrong about yourself."

"Is this a lecture?!" Asked Reid jokingly, somehow touched but also embarrassed at Sam's words. "You sound a bit like your dad."

"Shut up!"

They laughed a bit, still careful not to be heard, though. They sighed, enjoying this little break of tension.

"Speaking about him: let's hope Dad doesn't flee again."

"I never know whether or not you and he are on better terms! You keep fighting, getting better and fighting again," Spencer snorted.

Sam shrugged, he had to admit it was true...But well, it was as such.

"We made-up once, we had a conversation. He told me he actually wished for us to go to college before mom died..." He smiled slightly.

"I know, he said that to me once."

"When?" Sam asked, quite surprised.

"After we left, when I started going to Quantico. I was living on my own when he visited me. We spoke and he told me, he was proud but he was also scared that something would happen to you. He also explained me how he had started saving money before your mother died."

"You never told me," Sam pointed out.

"It wasn't up to me to tell you. I wanted to give him a chance to do so himself."

Of course, Sam could understand that, although he had wished Spencer to tell him. But maybe it had been better like that, he had been happy to hear that from his father's mouth. The doctor arrived, interrupting his thoughts. He started with Spencer, the exam wasn't very long in reality, but it still felt like an eternity before the doctor was done and continued with Sam. He was practically done with him when they heard the door open.

"Excuse me?"

They saw JJ in the doorframe.

"Miss," the doctor started, "This is not..."

"I'm with the FBI, I just need to tell Spencer he can come with us once it's done if he wishes."

Without even caring what the doctor would say, Reid immediately went to her: "I'm done already!"

They rushed away and JJ explained him in a hurry: "Gideon just received a very weird call, we have to go to the farm right now."

"What do you mean?"

She briefly explained him as they joined Gideon who was waiting for them. "Come quickly, I tried to call her again but she won't answer."

As they entered the car, they saw Sam rushing out of the police station. He entered the car as well in hurry and Gideon drove as fast as he could. He didn't know what was going on, but he was pretty sure it wasn't good. When Reid and JJ explained him, he shivered and prepared himself: this time they couldn't let the demon win.

O o O

Earlier

"Maybe I should call Gideon, report to him," Prentiss stated once John and she were done searching in the basement.

"Okay..."

She stepped out to call her boss and John followed her up the stairs when the door violently closed itself between them. Emily jumped in fear, letting her phone drop. She heard John trying to bang against the door and she attempted to open it but with no success.

That's when she heard Morgan's voice yelling: "Dean!"

What the hell?! A cold shiver ran through her as she understood what it really was: the demon. That thing possessing Hotch was here...And very suddenly, it dawned on her that this things would probably do anything and come from anywhere...

"The demon, it's in here!" John declared firmly but calmly from the other side. "Wait, take this..."

His voice shook her off her trance-like state. She heard a soft ripping noise and something was slipped underneath the door: a sheet of paper with things written in latin...

"It's the exorcism! You need to recite it to the demon's face, I'll also recite it from here to back you up."

"'Kay!"

She ran toward the room, and immediately started to read the paper as she saw Garcia hovering over Dean while Morgan was on the ground. Her voice was trembling and the unnatural way Garcia snapped her head up at her with those unnatural black eyes made her voice stop for a second. With a wave of hand the demon made her fly against a wall. She shivered as she felt her body going up and yelped when she hit the hard wood. But she was still holding the paper and as Garcia stood up, she hurriedly read the paper.

A horrible roar echoed as the demon in Garcia's body held her head in pain. Emily was reading in a trembling voice, hurried words, not even understanding but knowing this was probably the only thing she could do. The fear almost cut off the words when she heard the demon shriek and run toward her. For the first time, Emily Prentiss had no idea what to do.

Before the creature could reach her, Morgan felt his limbs coming back to life and he clumsily got up to throw himself at her. The demon was stopped in his course and Prentiss resumed her reading, she could even hear John's voice from the basement.

The demon resisted, a hard slap almost made Derek fell again. Garcia's face was nothing like her anymore! It was filled with rage and hatred. The weakened demon was still strong but he wouldn't let go, he wouldn't let it take Penelope away!

"Give her back!"

"NO!" It came out as a roar which chilled Morgan to the bones.

The two were struggling when Dean Winchester also got up and threw himself at the demon, soon followed by John. The demon's power having weakened, his hold on the door had faded and the hunter hadn't lost the occasion. He put a hand on Emily's shoulder.

"Stop for now, I'll tell you when you can continue, we have to know where your colleague is!"

She did as he told her and Dean poured holy water over the demon who shrieked, eyes completely black, at Morgan's horror.

"Where is Hotchner?! Where is he?" Dean asked.

"Go die in a hole, you fucking piece of shit!"

Emily continued to read, trying not to look at her possessed colleague, she had to focus on her reading. Derek however couldn't spare himself from that, it could have made him cry to see her like that, but the hunters remained unfazed.

"Again: where is he?!" John growled.

She let out a sardonic laugh. "Oh, you're gonna fail again, he could be anywhere!"

"He can't be far. Weak as you are, you couldn't travel that easily."

"Doesn't matter!" Another pouring of holy water finally made the demon crack a bit. "He'll die surely, where I put him he got no chances!"

Prentiss was shivering as she heard those words, where was he?! John said he was probably not far...a place they didn't check out, which was around...she realized: "I think I know!"

She sprinted out and went right for the underground freezer where they had found Charles Hankle's body: they didn't check it out and Hotch was sure to die in there. As she was sprinting outside, she saw Gideon's car coming at a fast pace. She waved her arms and the cars stopped only to let four people run out of it.

"Guys! It's Garcia, and I think I know where Hotch is..."

She was stopped in her tracks as Sam pinned a cross against her forehead in order to check out whether or not she was the one possessed but she gave no response except for an utter confused face.

"Okay, sorry, I needed to be sure, go on," the hunter pressed her.

"Ga...Garcia is possessed and I think Hotch is in the freezer! You have to come with me!"

"Sam, Reid, go in the house! JJ, come with us."

The two hunters did as they were told and the agents opened the freezer and saw to their horror Hotch's body sprawled on the ground.

"Aaron!" Emily yelled before kneeling at his side. Her heart stopped for a moment. She expected the glassy, empty eyes but immense relief washed through her as her lover slowly turned his head toward them. He was hardly awake, but he was alive!

"Emily..." he breathed out weakly.

"Come on, we need to get him inside," JJ breathed shakingly.

Grabbing the man by the arms, they dragged him outside, he tried to walk but the cold had gotten on him, and since he had awaken, he had been in a weak, sluggish state. What was happening? They had retrieved Reid and he was about to handcuff a suspect when everything had gone blank. Then he had woken up in complete darkness feeling nothing but cold.

"The demon is inside Garcia," Emily said while holding Aaron tightly, "John and Dean are already taking care of it with Morgan's help, we have to tell them we found Hotch."

Demon? Hotch couldn't move properly yet, but he was awake, and he could hardly believe what he was hearing; What the hell were they talking about? He tried to speak but was interrupted.

"But if that thing is still inside, it's dangerous," JJ pointed out before Aaron could ask anything.

"We can't split up," Jason replied, "we need to be together, Garcia was alone, look at what happened!"

They passed the door with caution as they heard the roars and the loud chanting of the people reciting the exorcism. Hotch was still hardly able to move but his body tensed even more as he saw the scene under his eyes. His first move was to try and grab his gun when he saw what was happening, only to be stopped by his colleagues.

Garcia was pinned on the ground by Morgan, Dean and Sam Winchester while John and Reid were chanting something in latin. She was convulsing and roaring and yelling insults at them. What was this?! And why were Gideon, JJ and Emily stopping him? Why were Reid and Morgan participating to that?!

"We have to stop them, what are they..."

"No, don't stop them, they have to do it!" Emily pressed him. "Listen to me, please!"

He wondered if she was crazy when Garcia turned her eyes toward him with completely black eyes, and his body went even colder. She snarled at him.

"Adulterer! You can hide behind your excuses but you're still married! That's why I could take your body, you're a sinner!"

"Go back to Hell!" Morgan yelled at the creature.

She convulsed a bit more as they continued their chant and Dean poured what remained of holy water over her. Black smoke erupted from her mouth, making Morgan jumps away from her, the other agents also took a step back as they saw that horror. Only Reid and the hunters remained still, looking at the demon finally going back to hell. Reid and Sam looked at each other, hardly believing this was all over.

A short moment of complete silence followed the demon's departure for hell, only to be broken by Garcia's moaning. Spencer took her by the shoulders gently and she looked at him in utter shock, horror and confusion...

"Hey, Garcia, are you okay?"

She grabbed his arms, not understanding anything, but she knew one thing: Reid was now back. As Hotch was finally finding back his words to ask what the hell was that, Spencer and Penelope hugged each other tightly.

Don't hesitate to comment it's always nice to read! The moment when John says he wished Sam and Dean to go to college before Mary's death is somewhere toward the end of season 1, in case you're wondering.
