Been MIA for a bit...but back in

Lucifer wandered aimlessly around the wide white expanse. It seemed without boundaries. One couldn't even tell where the floor ended and the walls began. He held up a glowing hand and a spider appeared, much like the one that had danced on the arm of his throne when last he'd seen Michael, but larger….MUCH larger.

With a chuckle, he knelt down and stroked it's hairy thorax. It wiggled like an excited puppy. He gave it a slight nudge and watched it skitter off, disappearing into the whiteness. A fun surprise for an unsuspecting celestial.

There was the small sound of bells and Lucifer turned to see a very haughty Michael and a very haunted looking Katherine. He smirked and gave them a mock salute.

Michael sighed heavily, but Katherine appeared lost in her thoughts, not acknowledging him.

"I hope you're happy," Michael said with a huff, falling backwards into a soft white chair which materialized behind him. He crossed his legs and rested a finger to his temple, a look of pure exhaustion.

Lucifer regarded them for a moment before formulating a darker chair of his own, templing his fingers in front of his wide grin. It did not pass Michael's observation that Lucifer had conjured a larger chair. "For reuniting a lost family? Of course dear friend," he eyed Katherine with a look of amusement. "It's safe to assume you know-"

"Yes…" Her voice was barely a whisper. Almost lost within the expansive place. She looked as though she might disappear into the light. Still, the only movement was a slight quiver of her lips, a small dancing in her eyes. "I…" Her voice seemed to trail off as if the words flew from her. Tears began to fall. They almost seemed to startle her as she reached up to touch them.

Lucifer tilted his head in amusement and saw Michael start to shift uncomfortably. There were no tears in heaven...and the celestial man had lived millenia since he had been face to face with a crying woman. Lucifer, however, lived in the land of human emotion. None of that perpetual, ignorant bliss. As fun as it all was, he sighed and started to lean forward. There was torture and there was cruetly. And he knew when the game should end. A little comfort was the least he could do for her with all that he had gained at her expense.

But his slight movement cause her head to snap in his direction. And the devil himself froze.

Her eyes finally seemed to focus and something behind them softened as she looked at him.

"I…." her lips turned up slightly at the corner and a small bell-like laugh fell from her lips as she ducked her head to him in a small nod. Lucifer didn't react but he felt a tingle of familiarity. He hadn't expected her mannerisms to be so close to Alastors. The similarity increased as her laughter grew, her head shaking with a throaty laugh. She wiped at tears, a wildness now to her demeanor. "I-I guess- I guess I owe you a-"her breath hitched as she tried to subdue her own laughter. "I owe you a thank you."

Michael looked appalled but the devil couldn't have looked more amused. He remained silent as he saw her hiccup and hitch, waiting for her to regain control. With a final sigh, she was left smiling. His brain flashed. It was shocking to see how similar her and her son were. He returned the smile. "Oh?" he leaned back. "And what for?"

She caught her breath, her smile starting to relax. "For giving me my son back," she turned to Michael, the smile not wavering. "YOU, you took him from me." Another bell-like laugh. "But I remember….more and more with each moment."

Michael rolled his eyes. "My dear we'll soon have this all out to bed and you can go back to bliss. No more heartache of a monster you…well….it's complicated. But soon it won't be again. Won't that be nice?"

She shook her head. "No. No after my report I think I'll be going back. There's going to be some changes around here." She snapped her fingers and folders appeared, falling to the ground and spilling out papers. She stood over them before spotting one, picking it up. "Let's start with Husker-"

She was cut off by a Yelp from Michael as a giant spider crawled on the the back of his chair. Lucifer chuckled.
