The new angel shared the same smug grin with the rest of the guests, his attention turning to Charlie.

"Charlotte, I presume?" He spoke politely but there was something wolfish about him. He held out a hand to her which she stood to shake.

"Umm yes," she said nervously. She gulped, pulling herself together. "Welcome to the hotel. We're very excited to have you-"

"Are you?" his eyes danced, his smile sliding to the side of his mouth, amused. She felt herself dissolve into nerves. More static filled the room but he didn't remove his gaze from her. He wasn't warm as Katherine had been. He was intimidating. The light he emanated was daunting, and his eyes held nothing but curiosity and condescension. He gave a small chuckle as he saw her loss for words, but didn't release her hand, pulling her in closer, conspiratorially. "Don't worry my dear. I'm a casual observer, I promise you," he said in almost a whisper. His low voice sending a chill through her.

He finally released her hand and addressed the room, his eyes never leaving the Deer Demon at the end of the table. "Detective Nicholas Davies," he winked at Alastor, "As some of you may know. To avoid any boring questions, Yes I have all my memories, No I will not provide any interference, Yes I am but a casual observer, BUT I think it fit for check ins one on one with you all from time to time to gather more intel. On the whole...pretend I'm not here."

"Easier said than done," Alastor murmured, removing his claws from the wood of the table.

"What was that Al?" the detective interjected. The air was sucked from the room.

Everyone waited with bated breath as the room began to short circuit. It only lasted a moment before things snapped back to normal with a pop and all eyes were on Alastor, bearing a terrifying grin. "I said,"Alastor replied slowly, "It's nice to see you again."

Nicholas leaned in, his eyes glowing white. "The feeling is mutual, I assure you."

Charlie gave a nervous laugh, looking to Katherine who seemed just as uncomfortable as she was. "So...so you two...know each other."

"Quite well I dare say," Nicholas's tone almost sounded fond. "I'd love a moment with you alone Charlotte. Discuss logistics and all that? Katherine, you're welcome to join."

Charlie and Katherine glanced at each other before rising from their seats.
