Chapter 18
"Rae!" Marinette screamed, jumping up and tackling the woman. The other three looked in surprise at the woman. Her hair was in long brown braids with flowers throughout. She wore a black leather vest over a hot pink shirt. A long black skirt and hot pink sandals. She wore no make and the only jewelry she had on was a locket. Luka smiled as he watched Marinette's obvious excitement.
"Hey shorty you gonna introduce us" Ace called out. Marinette blushed before dragging the woman over.
"Rae meet Ace, Liza and my boyfriend Luka" Marinette smiled, "guys this is Angela Rae or Rae for short"
"Nice to meet you," Luka smiled, stealing his girlfriend back by pulling her into his lap. Marinette giggled.
"Okay girl I may have to agree with you" Rae smirked
"You may have to huh?" Marinette laughed
"Maybe" Rae smirked, "so where is Ro?"
"Class" Marinette said, "did you come by yourself or did Tanner tag along?"
"Tanner came to" Rae smirked, "he got mobbed at the entrance."
"And you left him?" Marinette laughed
"Oh hell yea I left his ass," Rae laughed, "I am not taking another blow to the face for his ass"
"Uh huh sure," Marinette laughed. They sat talking for a good fifteen minutes when they saw someone running towards them. The tall man drove under the table squeaking out a "hide me". Marinette and Rae shared a look before laughing.
"Guys meet Tanner" Rae smirked as Marinette reached under the table and dragged him out by his ear.
"Wait, I know you," Ace said, looking at Tanner in shock. He and Liza shared a look before turning to the group. "You were in My heartbeat. It was a really good movie"
Tanner attempted to duck under the table only to realize Marinette still had him by the ear and no one was trying to mob him.
"Jeez take a chill pill hot shot" Rae laughed
"Tanner meet Liza, Ace, and my boyfriend Luka" Marinette smiled, "everyone this is Tanner"
Tanner stood there frozen
"Nice to meet you Tanner" Ace waved, "I am Ace"
"Hey I am Liza" Liza said shooting him a smile as she wrapped herself around Ace's arm
"Hey I am Luka," Luka said, giving him a peace sign. Tanner flinched his eyes darting between them.
"Your friends are calm," he said looking at Marinette. He let out a sigh of relief before sitting down next to Rae "wait where is Jojo"
"Jojo?" Luka and Ace asked
"Jordan is in class right now" Marinette said
"Jojo?" Luka whispered to Marinette
"It is an American thing," Marinette shrugged, "it is apparently a kids show about a clown named Jojo"
"Makes sense" Liza shrugged
"So you are the great Luka," Tanner said, studying him, "Marinette has talked about you quite a bit. I see why"
"Tanner not another word" Marinette warned
"Shush child the adults are talking," he teased, "so tell me Luka what makes you worth Marinette's time"
Luka didn't have a chance to reply before Marinette jumped up and dragged tanner by the ear...right towards Alaynah. He was trying to get away but Marinette had his ear in a voice grip. They watched in shock as Twenty girls screamed and came flying towards him. Marinette held on until they were mere feet away then she let go and immediately headed back to the table. Tanner was immediately surrounded. Marinette just calmly walked back and sat down in Luka's lap.
"That was cruel" Rae laughed hysterically, "okay Mari what you got planned tonight? Tanner and I are staying at a hotel."
"Sorry Luka and I have plans tonight with Ro and his new girlfriend Chloe" Marinette smiled
"Girlfriend" Rae said in shock, "holy shit that was quick"
"What can I say Chloe takes what she wants and doesn't accept the word no" Marinette smiled
"Wait that mother fucker talked to me yesterday and didn't tell me" Rae said, "that's it he is in for it"
"Room 515 Advanced Media Production" Marinette said pointing in the direction of Ro's classroom.
"Tanner!" Rae yelled as she walked across the courtyard, "time to find Jojo"
The four friends sat there watching in shock as Tanner crawled out of the group of women with half a shirt missing, no shoes, a single sock, and his pants. He shot up and took off after Rae.
"Are all your American friends crazy" Liza asked
"Pretty much" Marinette shrugged
"Darling I think we should get out of here before she comes back" Luka said
"Oh we have at least thirty minutes" Marinette smirked, "I sent them to the wrong classroom"
"You what!" Liza exclaimed
"You heard me," Marinette giggled, "we have at least thirty minutes until they figure out there is no classroom 515. And another 5 until they find the advanced media room. If I timed it right Jordan will be walking out of the classroom as they find it"
"You are a genius," Ace laughed, falling off the bench. Liza smiled and shook her head. Luka wrapped his arms around her tighter, pulling her closer.
"Hey Ace I have a question" Marinette smiled, "When did you see My heartbeat?"
"What?" he said looking embarrassed
"When did you see My heartbeat?" Marinette repeated
"I took my sister after it came out in theaters" Ace shrugged
"You took your sister to a romance show?"
"Yep she asked so I took her" Ace shrugged
"That is sweet," Marinette smiled. Luka chuckled and kissed her. The bell rang signaling the end of the break. Marinette pouted and reluctantly stood up stretching. She grabbed her bag and took Luka's hand as he walked her to class.
"Hey Marinette" Adam smiled when she walked in
"Hey Adam" Marinette smiled
"So how did your plans with your brother go?"
"Good," Marinette smiled, "Daniel and Luka got along a little too well. The teasing was merciless"
"Teasing huh?"
"Oh yeah Daniel was having to much fun teasing me and Luka"
"Really teasing you about what?" Adam asked
"Well first was that I finally told Luka I liked him. Then the teasing centered on the fact that I am staying with him this week. Some of my friends started that"
"You are staying with Luka?" Adam asked in surprise
"It isn't like I haven't stayed on the Liberty before, his sister is one of my best friends. I spent more time there than at home before I left" Marinette shrugged
"That's right you were traveling for a while right?" Adam asked, "Adrien mentioned it a few times. We had to reschedule a shoot once because the photographer was late and Adrien had a plane to catch"
"When was that?" Marinette asked
"A few months ago"
"Oh yeah that's when he and Kagami met up with me in Cairo" Marinette smiled, "my friend Jordan was so mad he missed it. He had to be in New York for his dad's birthday so Adrien, Kagami, and Chloe flew out to keep me company while they were away"
"So where have you all traveled to?"
"That's a long list," Marinette laughed, " let's see I started in New York after I left here. Then it was Tokyo, Greece, Egypt, Africa, Brazil, Romania. Then back to the United States for California. After that was Cairo, Tibet, Milan, and then back to Tibet then here."
"That's a lot of traveling" Adam said in surprise
"Yeah it was," Marinette smiled, "how about you have you done any traveling?"
"Not nearly as much at you," he smiled, "Milan, Cairo, and New York"
Marinette was saved from responding as the bell rang and class began. The first twenty minutes was class discussion before they would break into their assigned partners to work on their project. Marinette smiled as Adam moved to sit by her so they could work. They discussed some fabric options before agreeing to see what Marinette had on hand before purchasing any.
"This detailing in the stitches looks familiar," Adam said studying the design
"Shoot I forgot to remove that sorry" Marinette blushed, "it's become habit"
Marinette quickly removed the details in the sketch and put something else in its place.
"There all fixed" Marinette smiled
"Okay so how do we want to split up the work" Adam asked
"You want to take one set and I do the other?" Marinette asked, "or I can do the general assembly and you can do the details and final touches?"
"You don't mind doing the general assembly?" He asked surprised
"No I don't" Marinette answered
"Okay" he smiled gratefully, "is it okay if I do the details and final touches by hand. I am not great with a machine but I have a delicate touch"
"Works for me" Marinette smiled as the bell rang. They packed their stuff up and headed out the door. Marinette smiled when she saw Luka waiting.
"See you tomorrow Marinette" Adam said heading to his next class. Marinette waved before turning her attention to Luka.
